What a disappointment
I watched the debate tonight and have to say I was highly disappointed in McCain (the one who I had been strongly supporting and fighting others about). I was so hoping he would have done better. It's almost like he blew all his chances of winning. I was so utterly disgusted with him I couldn't even stand to finish watching it. Doesn't he realize that Barack is a lawyer. It was like watching a lawyer in his court room with his slick speeches. That's what Obama does the best. I don't believe Obama at all. Especially when he's telling us he won't raise our taxes, but in the past he voted to raise taxes over 20 times. I also remember quite clearly Slick Willy's campaign when he was running telling us he would not raise taxes for the middle income with within weeks of winning he not only broke that promise but he raises our taxes way higher than anyone could have imagined.
So I'm now back to the "I don't know" category. I believe Obama has got tons of bad baggage (ties to "really bad people", going to raise our taxes, received over $1 million from a terrorist to buy his house, etc, etc), but on the other hand there is McCain and I just don't know about him. He just seems very weak and I am sooo disapointed. It also didn't help him wandering all over that stage tonight. I said to DH, what in the heck is he doing, it's like he has no idea where he is going, and then he wanted to get right in the faces of the people who asked the questions, I said to DH, why doesn't he just go sit in the chair next to him. Sheesh! They said that is the best type of debate for him because he can walk around the stage and be himself. All I saw was an old man shuffling around and not making much sense with what he was saying....way too painful so I turned it off.
Sarah Palin's debate was great and it brought back the "oomph" I was looking for in the campaign. DH said to me tonight, maybe Palin and McCain should switch rolls" HA HA.
Unless I see something major happening in the next month, I will staying home and will not be voting. Guess it doesn't matter anyway.

People are going to be in for a disappointment
Not all republicans have been happy with Bush. In fact I couldn't name one of them (and I know a lot of conservatives). However, the democrats have really got to get past the false "stolen election" conspiracy theory. The fact of the matter is the election was not stolen. Of course the democrats who loved Bill Clinton wanted AL Gore to get in and am sure felt that there should have not been an election...just put him in. Conservatives? No don't give them a chance to vote. Only we matter. As hard as it is to understand, electoral votes count (not popular vote). Always has always will be. I find it absurd that whenever a republican is ahead in popular vote as Bush was the democrats said that's fine because it's the electoral votes that count (that is when they thought Gore & Kerry had the electoral votes). But then when it came down to it and found out that actually Gore & Kerry had the popular vote and not electoral votes the tune changed real fast. Then we kept hearing shouts from dems saying, no it should be the popular vote that count. The hard truth of the matter is that no matter how much people want it to be, Gore & Kerry were not ahead in electoral votes. However, since I didn't vote for Bush and I also didn't vote for either Gore or Kerry (can we say nin-com-poops) I didn't care who got in. Both choices were not good. But it does get tiring hearing people say the same old lies when they don't have the facts. I guess they feel as if they say it enough or get enough people to say it they'll actually believe it.
Then if you want to talk about stolen elections, we can talk about how Obama stole the election from Hillary. How they found 2 ladies from the democrats side dumping republican ballots out behind a polling booth, how they got ACORN to register people 70 and 80 times, how the democrats allowed prisoners to vote, how the democrats refused to count 70% of the militaries votes, how the republicans were turned away from voter booths saying the machines were not working and to come back later, howe the democrats were registering homeless people and letting them use park benches as addresses (wow talk about way masses voter fraud there). How Hillary was standing inside the polling booths doing her politicking only 5 feet from voter tables. How the black panthers were brought in to intimidate republicans. Then we can go back to the Gore campaing when they found a democrat with a voting machine in his car and he kept voting for Gore well over 100 times. And the list goes on and on and on.
As for the war. I think everyone realizes now we went to war for the wrong reasons, but fighting terror and keeping this country safe is not meaningless. Nobody wants our troops their everyone wants them home. However, Obama is not going to be bringing them home. In fact he and McCain had pretty much the same plan. Obama plans to keep them there for the next 5 years. Then when they withdraw from there they will not be coming home. He has them planned to go to other dangerous area.
As for Bush...no he is not the most smartest in the bunch. However you cannot put the whole blame on him. He was given so called "intelligence" that was bad and wrong. How he handled it was very wrong. I do think it's rude and disrespectful to call Bush an imbicele. Are you going to be comfortable if Obama messes up and gets bad information from his advisors and acts on that advice and then everyone calls him names. I don't think you would like that. Believe me I'm no Bush fan. But imbicele is a bit strong. I would just say "goofball". Just doesn't sound so bad.
Your outlook is the disappointment....sorry you are so miserable....nm
