Every generation seems to think
that the next is inferior, and perhaps they are right. Even in the begginning of the 20th century, the older generation was saying pretty much that the world was going to hades (I guess I cannot use the other word :) in a handbag. I, myself, look at some teenagers, how they dress, how freely they give away their bodies and how little they care for their own educations, and think, "Oh God, what are we in for?" and I am the generation that I believe you are talking about. I think it is natural to feel that your values are better than the next generations, lord knows I do, but I am not sure that this is necessarily the case. Our values might just be different.

This reminds me of a magazine that the Jehovah's Witnesses brought to my house in Washington--and yes, I do actually read them, although I am not a Witness--that said the decline of morality started in 1945. I thought that this was interesting. The writer of this article actually pinned down a date. This was because after the war, there was too much sex and demoralization. So, this person, whom I bet was a bit older than you are, thought that the decline was pre-baby boomers. Its all very interesting to me, but I think it is nothing new.
And the left would rather lamblast pregnant 17-year-olds...
in the name of sex education and abstinence than discuss the fact that a known communist is high-fiving their candidate in public.

Talk about political significance.

He put it out there, not it is up for debate, just like the 17-year-old pregnant girl. Only HE is running for President of the United States. SHE isn't.
I like "scruffy generation"
You described me perfectly. My dad taught me to take life one day at a time. He never complained (until he got older) :-). I am a tough person - military helped me there. I am hard working (been working since 2nd grade)- boy it would be nice to retire soon, but it's life and this is what was handed to me. I don't complain because I could have it worse (although I do have to say I do occasionally whine). And I don't want no handouts from anyone. However, if Obama gets in there, I may just think twice about that. Why should I have to work when I could get what everyone else is getting by not working.
