I meant to direct my statement about the lady who accused Bush of rape and then allegedly committed suicide. This is fishy to say the least. In any other case, who would be the prime suspect of a suicide victim by gunshot who pressed charges against the perpetrator? Though I'm not arguing that Bush was involved. I'm just wondering how can the same people who believe Clinton either killed, raped or sexually harrased everyone he came in contact with could dismiss claims against Bush so easily, but I undersand that you are not in this bunch so to that end we can conversate about BUSH who the OP was about.
Let me take one shot at clarifying...
what I am talking about regarding illegal immigration, and what I view this country to be. I do not now, nor have I ever said one word about wanting a "pure race." I have said over and over, America is a country of immigrants. A country of immigrants coming here who wanted change from their native countries. Immigrants who became UNITED under one flag, one creed, one constitution, one set of laws. The UNITED States of America. The thread that bound us all together...Americans. And the trend is away from that now. Illegal immigrants want to come here and change America to Mexican America...or Muslim America...or, or, or. To change what we are, the ideals we were founded on. In my mind, if you make a conscious decision to leave your own country and come to this one seeking to change your citizenship, then you embrace this country, her laws, her ideals, etc. That does not mean a person cannot be proud of individual heritage. I am proud of my Irish, Native American, Swedish ancestry and can some of it back to the 15th century. But I am not a Native Swedish Irish American. I am an American with a mixed heritage, and I am an American first, and I don't frankly see anything wrong with that. It is in that that we used to be UNITED and is what made us strong. If we start to separate we might as well set up borders and call part of us Native America, part of us Africa America, part of us Mexico America....because we are not united anymore. I even had the word "secession" thrown at me, which is ridiculous on the face of it. I never said such a thing nor would I sanction such a thing, because I believe in the UNITED States of America.
At any rate, to set the record straight: I do not ascribe to a "pure" race. I object vehemently to illegal immigration. I support legal immigration to the hilt. However, I do believe that immigrants are making a choice when they leave their native land and come here...a choice to become an American, and if that is not their choice, then they need to stay in their country of origin and try to make it more America-like...it seems like that is what they REALLY want.
I love my country, I love her mixed heritage and I love my own mixed heritage. I really, really don't see what the problem is with that. Black, white, red, yellow, polka-dotted or chartreuse....we are all Americans, and that should be the thread that binds us together. Therein lies our strength.

Ohhh, things will change
This country will turn into a welfare country so fast you won't know what hit you until you have been drained dry financially, unable to support yourself, because Obama wants to commit to billions of dollars of more SOCIAL programs. Now, of course,we know what that means, more taxes for those of us who actually work to pay for those who really don't care to. Well, I can guarantee you with all the handouts he wants to give to the tune of billions of dollars, the few rich folks left in this country who already pay for them, will NOT be able to support them anymore, because there won't be enough left from anyone to support all of Obama's programs. All he talks about is programs, programs, programs. He is perfectly happy turning this country into a welfare state where everybody is dependent on our precious government to make our decisions for us and tell us when and how we can do/say anything. Just because you don't like McCain shouldn't mean you vote for someone who has already stated all of the above out of his own mouth; this is not made up facts, these are his facts. Obama wants just as many people as possible to stay ignorant, uneducated, and uninformed, all the while voting for him just because his is black or just because they want change, or just because they hear more handouts and think,"Wow, I can live more years without working and have more children and let the 'rich folks' take care of us. I don't know where you live, but I can guarantee you that in my neck of the woods, the blacks are voting for him for no other reason than he is black. They could not tell you one thing about his past voting record, beliefs, etc., but believe me, they know he's black and getting a black man in the White House is all they care about. I don't care for McCain either but at least he's not preaching more handouts and he isn't making a point of taking the American flag off his plane, which speaks volumes for those paying attention. Just too many people voting for him for all the wrong reasons. He is Muslim born and raised and shows no signs of changing that. His actions have spoken volumes about his true thoughts. A wolf in sheep's clothing....only some of us aren't falling for it.

The rightwingers have surely gotten to the skittish. I, for one, am very afraid of McPalin. Now there's reason to fear them. They have nothing to offer, just more of the same old politics and power-hungry greed. Get away from me! If you want to base your decisions on lies, then you all deserve whatever comes from McPalin, but the thing is that our country will be stuck in the mire for another four years. So big deal, McCain was shot out of the sky...so were hundreds of others, others have given their lives for this country but McCain votes against any bill that will cost anything to help them....some leader he will make. Makes me wanna puke! Country First...doubt it!!
