There are problems and controversy in every church. I do not agree with things that go on in my church nor everything that my pastor says or does. I have found that some churches problems are greater than the ones in your own church, so some times you have to be still.
Here's one for ya....Me along with plenty of other Americans don't agree with what our current President Bush has done in terms of running our country, starting a war, making history by putting every state in this country in a negative deficit, and I could continue to go on, but the point is even in our disagreement with him, we have not jumped up and ran to another country and we wonder why; running is not the answer. First off it is not our place to condemn one, but since someone is being condemned for what was said, condemn the Rev. Wright, not Obama.

Also, if Person A wishes Person B (the president) to rot in hell, it (a) does not mean they wish the person dead; it means they hope the person gets what's coming to them when they wind up IN hell for all the unnecessary deaths they are responsible for here on earth; and (b) it certainly doesn't mean that Person C (not even INVOLVED in the original thought) can take that statement and accuse Person A of wishing Person C DEAD. Unless, of course, Person C is now hallucinating and asserting that SHE'S the President of the United States. If that's the case, then it all makes perfect sense!

Yes, I too have been worried about some sort of attempt on President Obama's life before we can be rid of the Bushies, leading to an attempt by them to hold onto power forever. However, I think they have screwed up the country so much that even THEY don't want it anymore.

On a bright note, I suspect that Bush's appointment by the Supreme Court was our Thermopolis Pass moment in history: Bush's appointment led indirectly to the election of Obama, as the defeat of the Spartans at Thermopylae led to the rise of democracy in Greece, just as the rise of fascism in America has led to the resurgence of democracy in our great country.

Only the conservatives on these boards fail to open their eyes and be objective when it comes to Bush and his actions. They're obviously partisan conservatives.
However, the people who continue to defend Bennett after Bush himself condemned Bennett's statement... well, there's a name for them, as well.
I think we're starting to see a divide in the conservative party. Those who just blindly follow Bush, unwilling or unable to see what's really happening, and the more sinister, dangerous, racist group who wouldn't mind seeing all black babies aborted. Those who insist on defending Bennett are emphasizing that distinction, which is a good thing. Let these people reveal themselves for what they really are.

polls do prove more and more people are listening to him, so that must be saying something about how they are truly feeling about Obama and it AIN'T positive.
For the most part, people who voted for him are NOT happy with what he is doing. I can name 10 neighbors on one side of my cul-de-sac alone who voted for Obama and is now regretting that vote. They have seen exactly where all this debt is heading, straight to their wallets and they definitely don't make 250K or more a year. It is going to grab them elsewhere but tax them to death none the less. If that's 10 out of my small cul-de-sac alone, I won't even bother to tell you how many at our community pool over several blocks of our neighbors are now openly regretting their vote.
They are definitely not happy with how he is handling anything because he isn't capable of handling anything..... he's nothing more than a puppet and someone else is pulling his strings.
If he gets healthcare reform through, you won't have to worry about who gets in the white house, because you'll be too taxed to death to care.

She has more experience at running something than Obama does and yet you lemmings think he is GOD. Give me a friggin break. Is this what is going on in the churchs now? Fear tactics that we are all doomed to he**? Our society is morally based. Go walk around the Middle East for a day and you will appreciate just how moral we are. The public schools aren't there to raise our children and at least they can go to school. You don't have to put your child in the public school system, that is also the beauty of choice in our country. Try having your child dodge bombs instead or be taught to strap bombs to themselves and die in the name of God. I'll take the science class any day over that. You can teach your children to have faith and to read books based on opinions and science. We aren't stupid, we can make our own decisions. I love the fact that my son can argue all points of view. He was taught evolution, so what? He is smart enough to make his own decision, just like you! All opinions should be presented to grow and learn. If there was only one point of view, how would we know how to chose?
