And let's not forget that the 2000 Florida recount issue went as high as the supreme court. At some point, after the count continued to go to Bush, the process had to be cut off, which I believe it was on December 14. I guess the dems just wanted to keep counting and recounting until it went their way? Like into January? Maybe right through inauguration day?
If Jeb Bush had not been the governor, and another republican was, I'm sure the democrats would have continued to demand recounts all the same. If democrats had been secretary of state and governor, should we assume the count would have gone to the dems? Would republicans have been shouting 'unfair' then? I don't believe so.
I cannot remember a republican presidential candidate ever demanding a recount. (I'm sure somebody will let me know if I'm wrong.) Nixon could have when Kennedy won, because the popular vote count was well within the margin of error that would allow it. If I recall, he decided not to because he felt it would 'divide the country.' That was a pretty valid concern. (Oh, please, don't everybody start in on Nixon, okay? He was just cited as an example of good sportsmanship.)

Boy, you are a slow learner. You complain to another poster that the NY Times is liberal slanted yet you cut and paste from you right-wing neocon rags (I know you don't like the neocon label but too bad). You make it appear this is your original thinking. You post this stuff like it's your original writing and thinking but it's all cut and paste or right-wing propanda. I think you get 1 star on this one but you get high marks for crazed and annoying persistence and perserveration.

Statement 1. - Liberals do not need a conservative mission statement to bring them down. They are doing a fine job of that on their own. Yup, stand by that statement.
Statement 2. - Just you wait. In two years when the dems have really screwed it up for all Americans that is when we will see a shift when it comes time to vote again. Who are you gonna blame then??? - Yup, stand by that statement too.
Statement 3. - The dems are making a mess out of our economy (they are now in charge, not pubs) and every day the news keeps getting worse and worse and worse and its not the past administration, it's the decisions they are making today, yesterday, and the ones they are telling us about). - Yup, that one too.
Statement 4. - Democrats caring about the American people???? Ha! That's a laugh. You tell me one democrat that cares about the American people and not their own pocketbooks." - yup...that one too.
So which part of it didn't you understand. There is nothing to make up a mind about...they all go hand in hand and each statement supports the other. I'm stand behind all my statements. If you read my other posts you also know that I support Obama, but I do not support our democratic congress. Obama is an excellent speaker and has a calm and reassuring voice, which is what the American people need in this time of uncertainty. Congress is a bunch of self-absorbed politicians only caring about their own future and being re-elected. They are not doing anything for the good of the country. I am for none of the parties.
And again with the attitude you display. Save it for the republicans (sorry bout that to the conservatives but I'm sure you can all defend yourselves). I'm just tired of people labeling me as being with one party or the other when I'm in none. The arrogance is astounding. I have conservative values on some issues and liberal values on other issues. I vote for a person, not a party.
If you will copy and paste each of the statements...
into a Google search, it will give you some sites with the full context of what she said. However, if you take the totality of the statements, and look at her basic agenda...Hillary does have strong socialist tendencies. Read up for yourself on socialism...how it starts and how it invariably ends. Veneuela being an example...Chavez took power saying he was going to return power to the people. What he did was take all the power for himself...that is where socialism invariably goes...to dictatorship. Cuba is another example. Chavez recently took control of all the television stations and radio stations so he could control the content and people who would disagree with him. We just need to be very careful to look at all aspects of something that looks good on the surface...need to make sure we push the lid off and see what's underneath. Educate ourselves. No matter what our political leanings are. We need to keep our individuality. It is vital...in my opinion.
a few parts you omitted from your cut and paste
Your large Bremer cut and paste from Wikipedia was done very carefully and only included the positives and omitted the very large negative comments/concerns/quotes/history regarding Bremer within the same article. You extracted in piecemeal only certain parts of the article to make your point. In order to be considered a valid point-maker, you should probably represent both sides and not purposely omit the negatives. Just my opinion, of course, and I am sure we are all guilty of that to some degree.

I personally believe that your husband and all other soldiers who are placed in harm's way deserve so much better, whether it's safe food/water, safe electricity, better vehicles to protect them against IEDs, etc. They are doing their best for us, and they deserve the best FROM us, IMHO.

objective views. This is a one-sided publication that asks for donations to keep it going. Nothing I read in there posts anything against any democrats, just republicans. It is not a fair-minded reporting.
I like to read both sides of the aisle but this publication spews hatred for anything not democratic in order to sell books. To those who can't see both sides, this blog, or publication as they like to state, is just up their aisle. I shake my head at one-sided news. Taken from their web site:

My post was a direct answer to the direct post...
of Democrat. It was not a blank open-ended statement. And dial it back a notch...it is certainly your right to protest anything any time you want to. Just like it is my right to protest you protesting while men and women are still in harm's way, because you are in effect aiding the enemy. Apparently the Viet Nam experience taught you nothing. Americans protesting in the streets heartened the enemy and when they were about to surrender decided not to, based a lot upon what was happening in the American streets. I believe that the protesting in that war prolonged the war and cost more American lives. Hanoi Jane should have been tried for treason. That being said...lessons were not learned and the protestors are doing the exact same thing now. Exercising the very right bought for them by shedding of American military blood. And I still say common courtesy should keep people out of the streets and off the TV until the military are home safe. But it just proves the same thing to me over and over...the selfISHhness of the protestors vs. the selfLESSness of the military. They continue to put it all on the line for your right to protest anything you want to protest...it is up to YOU to decide where and when that is appropriate, and it is up to you to take the heat for same. It is up to me and others like me (in my opinion) to apply that heat. Go ahead and do whatever your conscience or lack thereof moves you to do. But do not expect those of a different mind not to protest the protest.

I know for a fact that when he ran for President in 2000, I told every single person I knew that if he becomes President, we're going to go to war with Iraq. (Nobody's gonna treat his daddy like Saddam did and get away with it.)
I didn't have a crystal ball. I had common sense and a good memory from the Gulf War when his father was President and how he didn't "finish the job." Seems a lot of other Americans forgot about that.
I really enjoyed reading your post and all the facts you raised that I failed to raise in mine. Thanks for the mention of the LA Times article. I'm going to try to look that up on the web.

There are some evil people in this world but my first wish for them is that they find Christ and turn from their evil ways with His help. I believe, as you do, that there are people who are eagerly awaiting the *Rapture* and indeed believe they have the *inside track* to heaven. It makes me feel a lot better to hear someone say they're against this. When express outrage at my posting about the issue, instead of expressing outrage about the issue itself, it truly makes me wonder.
I honestly do not recall any threads on the conservative board about this issue. All I recall is total silence (or attacks) when the issue is mentioned.
I also wasn't trying to imply that the crime of child molestation is more prevalent in one political party or another. Obviously, that's irrelevant, and I have a hard time even associating a criminal like that with any political views one way or the other.
It's just that this seems to be a no-brainer, an issue on which virtually everyone can agree, yet the right seems to be eerily quiet when this topic comes up.
