There are many best selling authors whom many do not know of..Mr. Goldberg is a small fish in an extremely big author ocean. Big world out there, diverse opinions about what books to like. I never said nor ever thought the whole world believes like me..I am glad to think on my own..Ya know, to show you the sorry state this country is in..A few years ago the local high school had a course to teach kids to think on their own, how to think independently, can you imagine they needed a class like that? I noticed when I first moved to this rural area that most people think exactly like their parents and me, being the outspoken NY'er that I am, would debate and state the issues. They would always talk about..well my mother said this, my fathe said that. Im not talking kids here, Im talking adults, 30 and 40 year old people..So, when I heard about that class, I was happy that maybe one day we will have people who think on their own, without hiding behind other peoples ideas and the safety of same old same old.

Wolves and bears are very effective and efficient predators on caribou, moose, deer and other wildlife. In most of Alaska, humans also rely on the same species for food. In Alaska's Interior, predators kill more than 80 percent of the moose and caribou that die during an average year, while humans kill less than 10 percent. In most of the state, predation holds prey populations at levels far below what could be supported by the habitat in the area. Predation is an important part of the ecosystem, and all ADF&G wolf management programs, including control programs, are designed to sustain wolf populations in the future.
The Alaska Board of Game approves wildlife regulations through a public participation process. When the Board determines that people need more moose and/or caribou in a particular area, and restrictions on hunting aren't enough to allow prey populations to increase, predator control programs may be needed. Wolf hunting and trapping rarely reduces wolf numbers enough to increase prey numbers or harvests.
Currently, five wolf control programs are underway that comprises about 9.4% of Alaska's land area. The programs use a closely controlled permit system allowing aerial or same day airborne methods to remove wolves in designated areas. In these areas, wolf numbers will be temporarily reduced, but wolves will not be permanently eliminated from any area. Successful programs allow humans to take more moose, and healthy populations of wolves to continue to thrive in Alaska.

Politicians will dig up anything
negative they can about anyone running against them. I'm sure we all remember the things said back and forth between Hill and Messiah Obama before they finally picked Master Obama. It is all dirt flinging and back stabbing and promises they don't intend to keep. I truly wish they would invent a BS monitor that would let us know when these politicians are really telling us the truth or whether they are, once again, feeding us a line of BS.
We always fall for the promises made during the campaign and then we see no results when that politician actually gets in office. This is with all political parties and frankly I'm sick of it all. They waste all this money campaigning and smearing the other candidate as best as they can and in the end.....whoever wins still sticks it to the American people and those promises that were made are soon forgotten.
They are all politicians, they only know
how to talk like that, whatever party they are.

It's not just liberal politicians.
It's politicians in general. They're all so crooked they have to be screwed into the ground when they die. It's wrong to call prostitution the oldest profession because it's actually politicians that hold that title, although they are similar fields - they both screw people for money.

We are all fooling ourselves if we thing otherwise. It is literally picking the lesser of two evils. The one thing that I can say is that at least McCain makes decisions. He votes instead of just voting present like Obama and when Obama actually has voted yes or no.....he has consistently said one thing and voted the exact opposite. I just do not think he has the experience or the ability to make executive decisions. I do not trust his associations and I do not have the same values as he does.

As always, good to see you here...I remember reading when I was a kid that John F. Kennedy did not accept hjs salary as President; that he gave it back to the U.S. Guess since he was wealthy, he felt there was no need to take it. Too bad we don't have that kind of individual in office now..
Since when do politicians support
a group or say they do and then turn around and crap on that group or break promises they made to that group. I think that kind of goes hand in hand with politics. LOL!
Honestly, do you really think Barrack Obama is crapping on the homosexual community because he asked Rick Warren to do this? It isn't changing any laws. To me it looks like a liberal reaching his hand across the aisle to a conservative. To me this shows that even though they may not have the exact same opinions, they can still do something together. Isn't that what we are all about. Reaching across the aisle to show that even though we don't agree, we can still work together. Yet all people can see is this being a bashing session against gay people.
I don't agree with homosexuality. However, if they want some kind of legal union.....whatever. That is about as equal rights as I am going to lean for the gay community. I have gay friends who have no problem leaving the definition of marriage between a man and woman.....as long as they can be joined together legally...that is all that matters to them. I just feel that the ones who are trying to redefine marriage is dead wrong. Leave marriage between a man and woman and give homosexuals some sort of legal union.
This changing every tradition to accommodate every single minority group is what, in my opinion, is hurting our country. All these minority groups want equal rights but in doing that.....they take away from the majority. How much more should the majority have to sacrifice?

However, this is not the time to be playing games with us. A lot more people are watching what government is doing because of what happened last term. Obama really smooth talked a lot of people. I think a lot of people are starting to worry like some of the rest of us about his real intentions. Too bad we couldn't get the rest of the kool-aid drinkers to get a clue.
I say that next election we vote someone in who is neither a pub or a dem. Shake up the parties a bit and let them know that we are fed up with both parties!!!!!

It's absolutly disgusting that those politicians in DC think that they can have all these expenses at our expense! I love how they have parties and go off on weekend getaways that we pay for - I haven't had a vacation in years!!!
And the politicians talk about certain groups having a sense of entitlement - give me a break! They have the world's largest case of entitlement disease I've ever seen, starting with voting themselves an automatic raise every year! I thought raises were supposed to be for employees that were doing a good job!
I find most politicians on these shows
respond with rehearsed speech, or just do not answer the question. On Hardball, Chris will say answer the question, yes or no, over and over and over and whoever just goes off on whatever tangent.
Insurance companies and the politicians they buy..
Doesn't anybody in DC have a conscience? The system as it stands now is disgusting. They are literally making billions by killing of thousands upon thousands (maybe millions?) of Americans. Anyone with half a brain should recognize profit-driven health insurance only serves the best interest of the CEOs of the insurance companies - not healthcare recipients! This needs to change NOW!
I saw my first AMA commercial last night urging people to vote with the millions of uninsured Americans in mind. I loved it! It is at least a step in the right direction. Vote with the healthcare crisis in mind people!

Politicians and their love lives
aren't really important to me. This guy didn't lie under oath about his affair. Clinton did but I still really don't care. There peckers and/or cigars aren't my concern. I'm more concerned about how our country is being run and the money being spent, etc. Affairs are things that happen too often. I don't condone that type of behavior but they will have to pay the consequences for their actions. More important issues to discuss than this.

because among all the OTHER illegal things illegals do, they VOTE. And THAT is their value to the liberal left. Keep the poor poor and beholden (and force as many of us into that bracket as they can), illegals with benes...their voting base. They would sing a different tune if you had to prove citizenship to vote...if illegals were stopped from voting their "champions" would disappear like rats deserting a sinking ship. It's all about the power and keeping it...have we learned nothing? The best way to control people is to keep them dependent. Obama knows that. He has studied it his entire adult life. And you have given him the keys to the country. Laughable if not so sad.
King funeral--just another money shot for politicians
and opportunity for all politicians involved to bloviate ad nauseum. The whole thing went on forever. Reminds me of the old Appalachian mountain funerals where there were five or six preachers and each one had to see who could out preach the other.
Everybody had to get their money shot (especially Clinton and Carter) and to me it was sad to see a bunch of politicans and so-called religious leaders take advantage a good woman's funeral just to make their political hay.

To say that clinic workers at an abortion clinic are just as guilty as Rudolph is, at its best, INSANE. Those clinic workers broke no laws. Rudolph not only broke the law, he violated the "Thall shalt not kill" commandment that you all claim to believe in.

I think it is a little bit different when it is coming from the president of the USA than someone driving on a freeway. At least, that is my opinion. Maybe you dont have high expectations for the leaders, I do.

The attorney is helping the person wronged by the corporation. The corporation is paying lobbyists to change laws so the little hurt guy cant get any satisfaction in court for being hurt. That is the difference. Big difference, if you ask me. Do you think Kenneth Lay lost sleep over all of his employess who lost jobs because of his criminal activity? He says he did but I doubt it.
I see the difference
The government is corrupt. The people are good. I'm so glad that you are posting here. I'm sure the people of Iran only want peace and freedom and to be out from under the rule of mean, evil people. Some people in the United States cannot comprehend what being under a tyrannical leader is all about. They have not experienced it like many countries in the Middle East have. We have a good leader, but many have been led to believe that he is not good. They don't understand that people around the world are being brutally killed and terorized by their own leaders who are supposed to have their best interests in mind. They are the truly oppressed and I pray for them daily. I pray that a peaceful solution will happen in Iran, and that the president will come to understand that he cannot win a war with the rest of the free world who will not let him have nuclear weapons because he has proven to be a man most untrustworthy and threatening to many countries including Israel and the U.S.

is between free speech and slander/libel. Everyone has a right to an opinion and to voicing that opinion as long as one does not libel and/or slander a particular individual(s). Since the widows were named and The ***WTC victims*** were not, one is free speech, albeit lunatic fringe free speech, and one is not.
To weigh in on the subject of Coulter; she makes her living saying and writing outrageous stuff. She is a shock jock. If she started writing books like William Safire does, no one would read them and she would not be on every talk show on the airwaves. It is her job to be repugnant and she does it quite well. I don't listen to her, don't read her books. I don't listen to Howard Stern either; nor Rush, nor Grover, nor anyone who makes my blood boil. It is an exercise in futility to try to change anyone's mind on the stuff these people say. You love them or hate them and so I just avoid them.

And when you buy things from a private company unless they state it outright they might turn around sell your information to other advertisers. Unless you can produce where you signed a waiver of privacy, like you do at a doctor's office, you are not guaranteed that your information will be kept private.
I guess any good consumer could elect not to have phone service. That's one way to keep your conversations private. It's a bummer when it comes to communcation, but unless your plotting something illegal you really shouldn't have a problem should you?

It's okay for President Bush to get political but it's not okay for his employers (the American citizens) to do the same thing? That would be the norm in a fascist government ruled by a dictator like Iran. Is that where we're heading in America today?
Grandma's comment regarding the number of American troops killed in Iraq approaching the number of civilians killed on 9/11 was a very relevant comment, considering Bush himself exploited 9/11 in order to justify invading and occupying Iraq when it turns out Iraq had nothing whatsoever to do with it.

She has to have a teleprompter or a speech written for her. You in fact stated she kept the money from the Bridge to Alaska, confirming she has been repeating a lie about rejecting it on the campaign trail everyday..As far as Obama on O'Reilly. Of course I did not watch. The last thing I watched about Bill O'Reilly was where he threw the temper tantrum and ripped off the mike and threw on the counter and shouted obscenities at the staff because he did not understand the cue card.
