The only point I can see is....he keeps denying the rock star thing...

and then has a rock star set designer do the set. Okay...so which is it?

McCain is not a Bush clone. The two are nothing alike. But, of course, to know that you would have to research it and would actually have to care about accuracy.

'Nuff said.

Party like a rock star .....
and spend money like it grows on trees.  Don't worry, we will be fine here Pres., eating our Ramen Noodles and Kool-aid.....
gurl....I really don't care if he wants to be a rock star...
I just don't understand why he keeps saying he doesn't want to be likened to a rock star or a celebrity when all his actions say the opposite.

What I really do care about is his ability to perform as President. If I had confidence in that it would be a different story. I would like to believe what he says, and if he is not honest about the little things I have no confidence he will be honest about bit things. Just my opinion, gurl.
Yes. That is exactly what I am saying. WHen all this rock star talk started...
I saw an interview and have seen him say since that that is not the way he wants to be portrayed (like a rock star). So you are telling me now that he in fact DOES want to appear like a rock star? Well I stand corrected then. He chose the right people to design his set.

It is not insulting to suggest that people actually research things before they post them and not just take blogs and talking points for their information. Your compatriots have told me several times to do the research. I suppose it is all right coming from your side but insulting coming from mine. I get it.

But yes, go look at the votes. See how many times McCain and Bush butted heads and how many times McCain crossed party lines. How many times has Biden done that? None. How many times has Obama done that? None. As one Democrat poster posted to me below, Joe Biden knows that he has to be loyal to the party. That crystallized exactly what i have been trying to say. Yep, no matter what he takes, lying about a friend and throwing him under the bus, whatever it takes...loyalty to the party trumps everything.

And that is one area where McCain has them ALL beat. He has the guts to jump party lines for what he believes in. Because the American people have his loyalty, not the Republican party. That is something neither Obama or Biden can say. They never have, nor would they ever, jump party lines.
Well...the flight suit might disspell some of the rock star image...
I think Invesco field and the whole rock star set is going to do nothing to help him trying to portray himself as a serious politician ready to lead this country. But...I will wait until I actually see it...have only seen pictures so far. But if it is anything like it looks, it will be more like a hollywood musical than a political event. Maybe it IS all about the celebrity. Kinda looks like it might be.
Not DENYING anything
Just stating my opinion and religious beliefs on the matter.
I think you are saying the same thing. No need to argue when you're making the same point...nm

Shame on you for denying someone else

their freedom of speech.  As bad as you HATE it you people don't speak for everybody...

Who's denying her freedom of speech.sm
What you guys want is for her freedom of speech to go unanswered. Since she is an army mom then we should worship her and allow her to dump on us because of our beliefs.

If she wants praise and high-fives she should be posting on the conservative board.
Nobody is denying the gays the right to assembly...
also, you really have no idea what this particular group of people feel about gays or anything else. There are Christians who are sympathetic to gay marriage. Not me, but that is beside the point. To be honest, I think that they should file the proper paperwork and follow the law, I just think your argument is flawed.
A racial post shooting the finger. Must be a conservative thing. Point this out.
I just read the thread and don't know what the heck you guys are talking about.

Sounds like you are all just trying to be disagreeable, no wait that's why you continue to post on the LIBERAL board. I see, that's the point. Excuse me.
So then you are denying that you guys call all conservative posters liars? sm
If you did, that would be a lie.
There is a difference between courts agreeing and denying based on standing...

Star of Hope
I saw these people last night on TV. This is an organization that has been around for awhile, its purpose being to house the homeless. It is what they do all the time, not just this disaster. They are taking people into their own homes and finding places for people to stay. Their web is sohmission.com.  Check them out.  They sound like an established experienced group. I was thinking of sending money to them rather than the Red Cross. Just an FYI.
You get a gold star!
People seem to still not be getting this simple fact, and Bush makes an easy scapegoat anyway.

Now, imagine a gay or lesbian mixed race couple back then. That was during the times of back alley bars when women had to dress as men to go on a date in semi-public, hence where we got "butches." They were arrested then in raids, not to mention beaten, raped, killed. The pathfinders for my generation.

The Sarah Palin Selection: Why McCain's Inexperienced Running Mate Falls Short of Meeting the Implicit Constitutional Qualifications For Vice Presidents
By JOHN W. DEAN

Recently, I was in Alaska, just after Palin's name was first floated as a possible McCain running mate. Although I am not a Democrat, I gave a keynote speech at the Democrats' state convention. During my visit, a senior Democratic Party official said to me that he sure hoped McCain would select Palin, because based on his observation of her record Alaska, he opined that, : "She's screwing up Alaska big time, and she could probably assure defeat for McCain." His wish may be coming true.

Long Live King George!!
Bush to dine with *Christian* porn star...again
Porn starlet Mary Carey to dine with Bush again

World Net Daily | March 13 2006

Mary Carey, the buxom, XXX movie star who caused an uproar last year for dining with President Bush and her pornographer, apparently still has a hunger for the nation's capital, and will have dinner with the president once again this week.

The former candidate for California governor is to attend the United to Victory dinner with Bush on Thursday, and have lunch at a related event Wednesday where Bush adviser Karl Rove is the guest speaker. She says she's taking part at the invitation of the National Republican Congressional Committee, which is organizing the events.

I'm really excited to be going back to Washington D.C. to see the president again, said Carey. Everyone thinks that politicians are stuffy, but we all had a great time last year, and I had fun signing a lot of autographs. Wait till they see that I have lost 20 pounds since the last time they saw me. Watch out Mr. President!

According to a news release, Carey is slated to receive the 2005 California Businesswoman of the Year award for her efforts in starting Mary Carey Productions, Inc.

I'm always excited to learn more about what's going on in our nation's capital, since most people in the porn industry think an Iraqi pullout is a form of safe sex, she quipped. Since I'm seriously considering running for governor of California again, I'm going to need a lot of support from Republican lawmakers nationwide – however I can get it.
The NRCC is the same group that accepted $5,000 from Carey and her pornographer, Mark Kulkis of Kick A-- Pictures, and allowed the pair to take part at the 2005 Flag Day Dinner.

Asked by WND last year about the propriety of the Republican Party collecting $5,000 from a pornographer and the example such an appearance set for the moral climate of the nation, White House press secretary Scott McClellan said: I think you need to direct those questions to the committee itself.

When WND contacted the NRCC about the Flag Day event, spokesman Carl Forti said, They've paid their money. No matter what they do, the money is going to go to help elect Republicans to the House.

In an exclusive interview with WorldNetDaily, Carey said despite her racy occupation, she's still a Christian, and has her own aspirations of winning the presidency in the future.

I read the Bible and pray every night, she explained.

Carey, whose real name is Mary Ellen Cook, says she was named after the Mary Ellen character on The Waltons TV show. Born in Cleveland, she was raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., studied theater in college, and worked jobs in restaurants before trying stripping and then making the decision to enter the world of celluloid sex.

I kind of wanted to be a porn star, she said. I wasn't raped or abused.

With a Lutheran grandmother, Carey says she attended church regularly until the age of 12.

Despite having numerous sexual partners, she remains proud of her occupation.

I probably have less sex with those guys than any college girl [typically has]. It doesn't make me less moral, she said. I'm sure a lot of Christians have had sex before marriage. God reads my heart. I'm a good person. ... I think I have more morals than the politicians in office. I don't rob, steal, hurt, or lie – a lot of politicians do that.

When asked about Bible verses condemning adultery, she responded, Bill Clinton committed adultery. [Doing] adult movies is acting, portraying a role. It's not Mary Ellen Cook, the real me.

On this issue? Do you live under a rock?
He has sidestepped the issue better than a boxer. He is getting desperate, that's for sure, and you know it. You even sound desperate. I don't have a horse in this race and don't care for either of them.

But at least McCain has said NO TAXES and Obama has said MORE TAXES ..plain and simple.

More government = more taxes

Is that easy enough for ya?

You crawled out from the rock to watch Fox
you have been very nasty to these ladies who support obama... shame on you
Rock on and party dude
Glad to see your in such glee while the country is heading for depression. In case you haven't noticed yet the country is hurting. This is not time to be throwing weekly parties.

But you go ahead and party on dude. rock on....

Negative on the clothes idea, but covering the mirrors would be good, or at least the pictures of our founding fathers. What a disgrace and anyone who supports disgracing a national historical buiding.

No throwing a weekly party is not a good way to inspire and promote goodwill. Maybe waiting a little while for things to turn around before proclaiming victory which has not come yet.

More and more people (and the numbers are growing in all three parties) say this guy does not know what he's doing.

Maybe the dow's been up for a couple days because the O hasn't been out flapping his gums.

But nay.....you go ahead and party hearty. Rock on!!!!!
Right on Texas - you rock! I want to move there
Now I understand the true meaning of "Don't Mess with Texas"

Former Head of Star Wars: Cheney Main 9/11 Suspect
Former Head Of Star Wars Program Says Cheney Main 9/11 Suspect
Official version of events a conspiracy theory, says drills were cover for attacks

Paul Joseph Watson & Alex Jones/Prison Planet.com | April 4 2006

The former head of the Star Wars missile defense program under Presidents Ford and Carter has gone public to say that the official version of 9/11 is a conspiracy theory and his main suspect for the architect of the attack is Vice President Dick Cheney.

Dr. Robert M. Bowman, Lt. Col., USAF, ret. flew 101 combat missions in Vietnam. He is the recipient of the Eisenhower Medal, the George F. Kennan Peace Prize, the President’s Medal of Veterans for Peace, the Society of Military Engineers Gold Medal (twice), six Air Medals, and dozens of other awards and honors. His Ph.D. is in Aeronautics and Nuclear Engineering from Caltech. He chaired 8 major international conferences, and is one of the country’s foremost experts on National Security.

Bowman worked secretly for the US government on the Star Wars project and was the first to coin the very term in a 1977 secret memo. After Bowman realized that the program was only ever intended to be used as an aggressive and not defensive tool, as part of a plan to initiate a nuclear war with the Soviets, he left the program and campaigned against it.

In an interview with The Alex Jones Show aired nationally on the GCN Radio Network, Bowman (pictured below) stated that at the bare minimum if Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda were involved in 9/11 then the government stood down and allowed the attacks to happen. He said it is plausible that the entire chain of military command were unaware of what was taking place and were used as tools by the people pulling the strings behind the attack.

Bowman outlined how the drills on the morning of 9/11 that simulated planes crashing into buildings on the east coast were used as a cover to dupe unwitting air defense personnel into not responding quickly enough to stop the attack.

The exercises that went on that morning simulating the exact kind of thing that was happening so confused the people in the FAA and NORAD....that they didn't they didn't know what was real and what was part of the exercise, said Bowman

I think the people who planned and carried out those exercises, they're the ones that should be the object of investigation.

Asked if he could name a prime suspect who was the likely architect behind the attacks, Bowman stated, If I had to narrow it down to one person....I think my prime suspect would be Dick Cheney.

Bowman said that privately his military fighter pilot peers and colleagues did not disagree with his sentiments about the real story behind 9/11.

Bowman agreed that the US was in danger of slipping into a dictatorship and stated, I think there's been nothing closer to fascism than what we've seen lately from this government.

Bowman slammed the Patriot Act as having, Done more to destroy the rights of Americans than all of our enemies combined.

Bowman trashed the 9/11 Commission as a politically motivated cover-up with abounding conflicts of interest, charging, The 9/11 Commission omitted anything that might be the least bit suspicious or embarrassing or in any way detract from the official conspiracy so it was a total whitewash.

There needs to be a true investigation, not the kind of sham investigations we have had with the 9/11 omission and all the rest of that junk, said Bowman.

Asked if the perpetrators of 9/11 were preparing to stage another false-flag attack to reinvigorate their agenda Bowman agreed that, I can see that and I hope they can't pull it off, I hope they are prevented from pulling it off but I know darn good and well they'd like to have another one.

A mainstay of the attack pieces against Charlie Sheen have been that he is not credible enough to speak on the topic of 9/11. These charges are ridiculed by the fact that Sheen is an expert on 9/11 who spends hours a day meticulously researching the topic, something that the attack dogs have failed to do, aiming their comments solely at Sheen's personal life and ignoring his invitation to challenge him on the facts.

In addition, from the very start we have put forth eminently credible individuals only for them to be ignored by the establishment media. Physics Professors, former White House advisors and CIA analysts, the father of Reaganomics, German Defense Ministers and Bush's former Secretary of the Treasury, have all gone public on 9/11 but have been uniformly ignored by the majority of the establishment press.

Will Robert Bowman also be blackballed as the mainstream continue to misrepresent the 9/11 truth movement as an occupation of the fringe minority?

Bowman is currently running for Congress in Florida's 15th District.

Porn star contemplates run in Louisiana U.S. Senate race

Porn star and Baton Rouge native Stormy Daniels said Monday that she wants to give voters a voice by starting a “listening tour” in Louisiana.

However, Daniels said she doubts she will actually seek public office despite an Internet drive aimed at persuading her to run against first-term Republican U.S. Sen. David Vitter next year.

Daniels said her work as an actress, writer, director and dancer pays the bills more than a stint as a senator would.

“I don’t think I’m willing to take the pay decrease,” Daniels said.

But an Internet-based campaign to “Draft Stormy” to challenge Vitter has attracted national attention.

CNN.com, for instance, featured an interview with Daniels on Monday. The congressional newspaper “The Hill” also noted the push to turn the porn star into a politician.

Vitter apologized in 2007 for what he called a “very serious sin” after his phone number showed up during an investigation of the escort service operated by Deborah Palfrey, the so-called “D.C. Madam” who was convicted of running a prostitution ring and later committed suicide. He was not charged in the Palfrey case.

Since his apology, Vitter has refused to answer any questions about the incident.

Aaron Baer, a spokesman for the Republican Party of Louisiana, dismissed Daniels’ possible candidacy as a publicity stunt.

“Voters in Louisiana are concerned about real issues that require serious leadership,” he said.

University of New Orleans student Zach Hudson said the “Draft Stormy” campaign is legitimate.

“It’s not a stunt,” he said. “We have every intention of successfully drafting her.”

Hudson said he hopes a groundswell of support will convince Daniels to run.

Daniels, 29, hired a publicist to respond to inquiries about her interest in the Senate race.

She said she will play along to bring attention to certain issues and to remove Vitter from office.

Daniels is critical of Vitter’s response to his phone number being found on a Washington prostitution ring’s client list.

“I might be a slut and a whore,” Daniels said. “… but I’m not a criminal, and I’ve never been a hypocrite.”

Daniels will be in Baton Rouge in early May to dance at the Gold Club and possibly film a movie in New Orleans. She said she is open to touring the state to hear what people have to say.

Vitter’s spokesperson did not respond to two requests for comment.

Daniels is a 1997 graduate of Scotlandville Magnet High School. She said she is registered to vote in California.

Her work in the adult entertainment industry includes writing and directing films as well as starring in them.

Hudson, who has volunteered for the campaigns of several Democratic candidates but said he is not affiliated with the Democratic Party or any other party, said Daniels is a leader in a multibillion-dollar industry.

Daniels said she is hesitant to enter the race because she is concerned about making a mockery of government.

She said the focus would be on the fact that she works in the sex industry.

Daniels said she wants to bring awareness to issues such as child pornography, safe sex and the need for Internet controls to limit what children see on the Web. She has her own Web site that sells pornographic images.

She made an appearance at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., last year to push a “Restricted to Adults” label for adult Internet sites.

Political commentator and former Insurance Commissioner Jim Brown said Daniels would be just one more entry in the state’s colorful political history.

He said she might attract “a pretty good protest vote” even if she isn’t destined to serve in the U.S. Senate.

“No, she can’t win,” Brown said.

Baton Rouge pollster Bernie Pinsonat said the likelihood of Vitter being defeated is diminishing by the day.

The negative publicity that President Barack Obama is receiving on the economic package is giving Vitter a good platform, he said.

“I thought Vitter would have a tough time getting re-elected, but right now, Obama is sent from heaven,” he said.

Good to see where our hard earned tax money is going.....

Rock on.
She didn't know about Rock Hudson's nasty behavior.
None of us did until he died from AIDS. And calling people names, even though wrong, is a far cry from being beat up. We have to teach our kids to be kind but not to accept certain behavior as good and that's not what you want. Am I right?
But valuing over the price of a dollar is a right thing wing thing, so you are on the wrong board. n
x
I think BB has a point here in that the main point on the board is political discussion, and let'
face it, there is SO MUCH going on right now, changes, problems, disasters, and so much debate on what should/could be done, but so many tims the political discussion disintegrates in a finger-pointing, name-calling exercise, spouting religion all over the place. Yeah, our spiritual beliefs are dearly held and we would all strive to be the best we can be, and do whatever we can whatever the ideology is, but sometimes I wonder, since we have a board EXPRESSLY for Faith isuues, where relgious debates/discussions/forums, etc are welcome, why does THIS board have to be turned into RELIGION BOARD PART II, especially if one ideology wants to dominate or ridicule/condemn those who come on here for lively inteligent discussion, debate of issues in Congress and in our lives, and just want their beliefs held separately? CNN is not EWTN or any other Christian network, and there are constant informative, bright, lively, balanced discussions from all over the political spectrum on the credentialed news stations, as well as C-Span, but they are not constantly hiding behind a cross, rosary, bible, star of David, or whatever....can we not strive to do the same and put religious debate on the Faith board?? Just a thought to ponder, MHO, it might work beter, who knows?
No issue is no issue. Denying that

is the the starting point or the end point for the middle class?

I answered your post point-by-point and
all you can come up with is a lame tit-for-tat? Can you provide some sort of substantive response that would argue against the point I am trying to make here? Of course not.

Please show me what part of my post reflects bigotry or ignorance? I have made a few statements based on my own life experience, rather than the hook-line-and-sinker method of forming my world view. Then the impotence of your suicide bomber reference was buried under concrete evidence of informed, researched and factual data that would suggest an oppressed, occupied, half-starved population does not have the upper hand when it comes to defending themselves against Israel's US-bankrolled arsenal of pain, misery, death and destruction. They are just a tad out-gunned, wouldn't you say?

Then the impotence of your suicide bomber reference was buried under concrete evidence of informed, researched and factual data that would suggest an oppressed, occupied, half-starved population does not exactly have the upper hand when it comes to defending themselves against Israel's US-bankrolled arsenal of pain, misery, death and destruction they employ in order to "secure" themselves.

The Palestinians are just a tad out-gunned, wouldn't you say? This might just account for the lop-sided fatalities/injuries ratios between the Israelis and the Palestinians. In closing, it is worth noting that even with the advantage of all those terrorist toys and tools our tax dollars have bestowed upon them, security and peace of mind just seem to be further and further beyond their reach. Wonder why that is?
If your point is that it was 7 years ago, that's not much of a point is it? sm
Not long ago at all in the scope of things. The point is that the same thing could and probably would happen here. 9-11 happened 7 years ago too....I guess that couldn't happen again, huh?
I get your point, but my main point is -
why should the government be allowed to tell people what they can and can't eat? Everyone says the government is too involved in our business anyway, so if they should stay out of one part of our lives, they should stay out of all parts of our lives!
