This is an ignorant statement. Islam is a monotheist

Posted By: religion. Our God? Their God? sm on 2008-11-03
In Reply to: Muslims - biblical viewpoint

There is one God, and he is known to us under many different names...Allah is one of those names. "False religion" Puleeze. Who put you in charge? There are different versions of the Holy Book just as there are different versions of the Bible. Some among us DO understand the difference between religion as a statement of faith and the ugly underside of relgion in it politicized form. Politicized Christianity is every bit as ugly as politicized Islam.

Immediate White House statement on Dr. Tiller - still no statement on

Having had at least three relevant opportunities to make a statement about the killing of an Army recruiter and wounding of another since this occurred on Monday, Obama has not said a single word about it - but a statement was forthcoming from him immediately concerning the killing of Dr. Tiller.

The media coverage of the two events has also been strikingly different.  Please note that the sympathies of the liberal cause provide a complete explanation of both of these phenomena.

More than passingly strange that they think we don't notice stuff like this, n'est-ce pas? Well, they'll discover their mistake soon enough.  The election cycle of 2010 is already starting up - and it isn't going to look anything like the cycle of 2008.

Islam. sm
There is no stopping Sharia.  It has been started and we won't stop it, no matter what we do.  Even if it dies down, it will still exist and wait for another day.  It's my belief that the first extremely bad misstep was not with Clinton but with Carter.
I don't believe Islam is being persecuted. nm
.
Another point on Islam. sm
The Qur'an very clearly obligates all Muslims to bring the entire world under subjugation to their Allah and to force all nations to accept Islamic law (sharia). If nations will not accept sharia voluntarily they are to be conquered and forced to submit.  The Qur'an, of course, has been around for centuries, since 500 years after the death of Christ.  An attempt was made to bring nations under subjugation in the time of the Crusades.  It was only through a massive war and crusade by Christians that the takeover was stopped.  What happened leading up to 9/11, i.e., the multiple terrorist attacks on military installations, ships, compounds, the first WTC, etc., has nothing to do with politics at all.  Once people stop relating all this to economics and politics, they might actually get the real picture.  Unfortunately, I don't see that happening. There are just too many conspiracy theories out there that are way more entertaining and, of course, the horror of actually realizing the enemy we face is pretty daunting.  At any rate, the horror exists and has existed all along.  We did not provoke 9/11 or any of the other terrorist acts. I wonder, just how many 9/11s were we supposed to sit through.

Yep, it is Islam doing the persecuting
You don't have to read very much to realize that.

Robertson suggests God smote Sharon

Evangelist links Israeli leader's stroke to 'dividing God's land'

(CNN) -- Television evangelist Pat Robertson suggested Thursday that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke was divine retribution for the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, which Robertson opposed.

He was dividing God's land, and I would say, 'Woe unto any prime minister of Israel who takes a similar course to appease the [European Union], the United Nations or the United States of America,' Robertson told viewers of his long-running television show, The 700 Club.

God says, 'This land belongs to me, and you'd better leave it alone,' he said.

Robertson's show airs on the ABC Family cable network and claims about 1 million viewers daily.

Sharon, 77, clung to life in a Jerusalem hospital Thursday after surgery to treat a severe stroke, his doctors said.

The prime minister, who withdrew Israeli settlers and troops from Gaza and parts of the West Bank last summer over heated objections from his own Likud Party, was breathing with the aid of a ventilator after doctors operated to stop the bleeding in his brain.

In Washington, President Bush offered praise for Sharon in a speech on Thursday.

We pray for his recovery, Bush said. He's a good man, a strong man. A man who cared deeply about the security of the Israeli people, and a man who had a vision for peace. May God bless him.

Daniel Ayalon, Israel's ambassador to the United States, compared Robertson's remarks to the overheated rhetoric of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. (Full story)

He called the comments outrageous and said they were not something to expect from any of our friends.

He is a great friend of Israel and a great friend of Prime Minister Sharon himself, so I am very surprised, Ayalon told CNN.

Robertson, 75, founded the Christian Coalition and in 1988 failed in a bid for the Republican presidential nomination. He last stirred controversy in August, when he called for the assassination of Venezuela's president, Hugo Chavez. (Full story)

Robertson later apologized, but still compared Chavez to Hitler and former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein in the process.

The same month, the Anti-Defamation League criticized Robertson for warning that God would bring judgment against Israel for its withdrawal from Gaza, which it had occupied since the 1967 Mideast war.

Robertson said Thursday that Sharon was a very likable person, and I am sad to see him in this condition.

He linked Sharon's health problems to the 1995 assassination of Israeli leader Yitzhak Rabin, who signed the Oslo peace accords that granted limited self-rule to Palestinians.

It was a terrible thing that happened, but nevertheless, now he's dead, Robertson said.

Rabin was gunned down by a religious student opposed to the Oslo accords. The killer, Yigal Amir, admitted to the crime and was sentenced to life in prison.

Rev. Barry Lynn, executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, criticized Robertson's comments Thursday, saying the televangelist has a political agenda for the entire world.

He seems to think God is ready to take out any world leader who stands in the way of that agenda, Lynn said in a written statement.

A religious leader should not be making callous political points while a man is struggling for his life, he said. I'm appalled.

Ralph Neas, president of liberal advocacy group People for the American Way, said it is astonishing that Pat Robertson still wields substantial influence in the Republican Party.

Once again, Pat Robertson leaves us speechless with his insensitivity and arrogance, Neas said in a written statement.

According to The Associated Press, Robertson spokeswoman Angell Watts said of people who criticized the comments: What they're basically saying is, 'How dare Pat Robertson quote the Bible?'

This is what the word of God says, Watts told the AP. This is nothing new to the Christian community.

I find it far more hypocritical that Islam preaches as the religion of peace. sm

Believe me, honey, I am far from ignorant and Im just trying to educate those backward relic conservatives, trying to get them to live in the real world..Happy Days was fun to watch on TV but it is not reality..Now come on, put away your poodle skirt and move on..Democratic ideology is the future..
Ignorant? Not me.
I have done much research on stem cell research and I am definitely not ignorant.  However, from what positions I see conservatives take over the past 5 years or so, seems it is pot calling the kettle black.  Once again, a conservative just cannot debate an issue without name calling, too bad.
Ignorant? sm
There is nothing ignorant about deciding to take the candidates on face value or chosing to be positive and upbeat rather than hateful and divisive. What is ignorant is relying on these ill-informed, partisan, smutty, mud-slinging smears as the basis of chosing the leadership of our country. Anon is quite right. It boils down to satus quo versus change. Who are any of you to tell her any different? All you detractors and nay-sayers want to believe the very worst about your opposition candidates and their supporters and protest so much about how they cannot be trusted. The real dishonesty is found in these attack posts and are the least reliable of all.

Anon, you go girl! You deserve the peace that comes with being confident in your unwavering support. As for the rest of you Kamakazi posters, enjoy yourselves down there in your cesspools of hatred.
Ignorant? Really?
Who is this loser you are saying should shut up?

Ignorant is
believing you can predict the future while turning a blind eye to the past. Thanks. I will be on my merry way. "Christ NEVER presumed to know what the Father God was thinking."

You obviously haven't got the first clue about Christianity.

There are just as many ignorant

far right people as there are far left people.  It seems that both sides have people who can't help but say controversial things.  As for Sotamayor herself.....she is the one who made the racial comment that she would make better decisions than a white man because of her experience and being a latina woman.  I still say that if any white male had made any such racist comment, people, especially libs, would be calling for his head on a platter and he would not only lose his position but his career would be over.  There is the big difference.  It seems like minority groups are allowed to say racial things but the moment a white person does......all he!! breaks loose.

I personally feel that not only her comment was racist but for her to throw out those tests done by those firemen is both unfair and discrimination.  Every single firefighter....no matter what race they were.....were given the same materials and the same amount of time to study.  How can those tests be discriminatory towards minority groups?  It isn't like all the white folk got the information a month ahead and minority folks got only 2 days.  As far as I'm concerned, if minorities didn't score as high....they should have studied harder and they don't deserve a promotion.  To study hard, score high on the test, and be denied a promotion merely because you aren't a minority.....how is that not racist and discrimination?

Your information is so ignorant.....
of the real truth that is kind of scares me.  I am afraid that this is what the U.S. has become - a nation of ignorant lemmings who cannot read the information available and refuse to believe what has been documented over and over and over again....that we have been grievously misled by this administration.  PLEASE educate yourself, study multiple world-wide news and information sources from various political genres and THEN draw your conclusions.  And I can assure you, the conclusions may be painful and they will also be startlingly different from you currently hold to be true.
I'll take the ignorant comment
as a compliment....believe or not I do read a lot and from different perspectives.  What people like you can't stand is that some people don't take the same perspective as you.  If you want to live in a doom and gloom and defeatest mindset go ahead...you are certainly free to do so, but calling me ignorant for my perspective on the whole situation shows that you cannot accept other's views on the whole subject.  Again, where's the tolerance and understanding?
You are beyond ignorant Libby
You are not one bit objective. You are consumed by hate. If you will look at the C-board you will see we are debating issues having to do with our president such as the Supreme Court Nominee and much to this board's generalization we've not all drank the Bush Kool-Aid. Calling us Bush groupies is grossly in error. You are sooo consumed with hate you would believe anyone but Bush....well, that tells us how far your hate has taken you.
You are an ignorant fool
They are asking for things like deodorant, foot powder, Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations, feminine items like tampons.  Shampoo, conditioner, books, stationery to write home, Christmas cards, letters.  They want letters.  With every post you define YET AGAIN over and over how little you have a clue about our military and how little your regard for them.  And you will never get any better.  You will remain the pretenders of supporting the troops. As you have always been and you will always be.  Shameless, shameful, tragic.
Ignorant post
Your ignorance is showing big time..I suggest to all of you who do not know how to debate, take a class at your local high school or college on debating..It is obvious most of the neocons, who for whatever reason I cant imagine frequent the liberal board, do not know how to debate intelligently, logically and fairly.  When debating, you do not attack the opposite side personally, you attack the ideas put forth by the opposite side.  Yet, reading over all the neocons posts on this board, all they do is attack the poster, not the ideas suggested and put forth..It gets ugly because they attack the poster, not the ideas, which makes me shake my head in wonder, as the neocons know nothing at all about the liberal poster, yet they assume greatly.  Please,  neocons, take a class on debating or probably you could even find out the correct way to debate by searching the internet..cause these personal attacks get tiring..so tiring..
I said your statements were ignorant - not you,
.
That is about the most ignorant thing

I have ever heard.  If that is truly how you feel, you are voting blindly.  This is why I fear this election.  Ignorant people voting for someone they haven't even researched just because they want change.  Well....sometimes change isn't for the better.  Granted....things suck right now but the last thing we need is a change for the worse and I believe that is what Obama will bring.  I don't like either candidate and am struggling with what to do, but I'm still researching and looking into things instead of voting blindly.  I will probably vote for McCain because I feel he is the lesser of the two evils, but I am truly not happy with either candidate.

As for needing Dems in charge.....I know the current pres is republican but the dems have control of the congress.  I haven't seen much good out of them either.  I don't trust any politician because they are all out to line their pockets full of money while lying to the American people about the "changes" they will make in order to get elected in office and end up doing absolutely nothing they promised.

This post is entirely too ignorant
!!!!!!
You cannot possibly be that ignorant.....
Teenagers have been raising babies since the beginning of time. Only until the last few decades has it been scoffed at that a teenager should have a baby and NO, I don't encourage any young person to go that route before they finish school and hopefully go on to college or at least, find a spouse first and then have a child. In an ideal world, that is the route I would wish for them all.

But in Bristol's case, my point was, and you know it, that I doubt very seriously I will have to support her and her child. Do I want 12-even 17 year olds having babies? No, but I can GUARANTEE you because I see it in my community EVERYDAY, that if they are working to raise their own child and I mean truly out there WORKING and not sitting on their behinds letting me pay for their child, they more than likely will have learned a very valuable lesson in life about raising a child and will in all likelihood not be so fast to have another one.

But, when those teenagers who take no responsibility continue to have one child after another and they are ALL on the taxpayer's payroll, you better believe they have no business with a baby.

What business is it of yours if a teenager has a baby if you're not having to pay for it womb to whenever??

IGNORANT? I think this is over your head

Christianity is ONE faith.  In the world, of course, there are many others besides Christians that believe in God.  Are you following me?

What an ignorant post
I got a news bulletin for ya, pal: The ONLY ones mooching off the the government are the ones raiding the TREASURY and while both parties have done it, the CURRENT crop of criminals hail from the GOP.

I don't believe Obama will deliver a fraction of what he promises, but MCBUSH promises more war, more enemies, more bloodshed, and more RAIDING OF THE TREASURY.

Spend a few seconds educating yourself, if you dare. I know its a LOT easier though, to just sit behind a keyboard in judgement of people YOU don't know and in whose shoes you certainly have never walked.
Not as ignorant as those who don't research
and search out the truth for themselves. Not as ignor@ant as all the people at my old church that will bark out nonsensical noises. Not as ignor@ant as the people who will not question anything no matter how wrong it is. Not as ignor@ant as my aunt who won't wear the color black because it's evil and the devil will posess her, and therefore she wears white to keep herself pure so that she will move right to the front of the line at the pearly gates because god will see how pure and clean she is not wearing those evil dark colors. Not as ignor@ant as the phony minister's wife who tried to convence the mindless souls that she actually witnessed a fight between god and satan for the soul of the electric guitar player in their "rock-and-roll band". Not as ignor@nt as the girls walking around in jean cutoffs and bikini tops saying how "kewl" it is to be able to dress like that to go to church. And especially and most important to me not as ignor@ant as the church members who changed bible versus to fit their way of life.
Are you really THAT ignorant? I'm sorry for you. Pathetic.
That is just plain prejudiced.
Now this is just plain ignorant
Of course we'll be taxed REGARDLESS of which figurehead gets put in office.

Get a clue though my friend, the REpublicans are NO friend to the average working JOE (plumber or otherwise). Do you for a New York second think the party who represents the RICH is really going to come to the aid of the middle and lower class? Give that a rest. Democrats are a hair better and that is NOTHING to brag about.

And while you 're at, how about documenting the bill in which you Obama voted to pass - so that we can read the details for ourselves. We can do our own research but if YOU are goign to make claims like this you at least have to tell us thebill in question, and WHERE you got your information.

You're very ignorant or you would know better
There isn't any hospital system getting rich on the back of Medicare patients (the elderly). They get a small reimbursement that private insurance owners pay a lot more for. No hospital system ever got prosperous off of Medicare and Medicaid.

I don't read Fox or the others you seem to know a lot about. This is from first hand knowledge. You don't have a clue what you're talking about. If you're so worried about the prosperous hospital systems, get a brain and ask yourself if you would want those ER doors open if you or your loved ones needed an ER and then try to educate yourself on how those hospitals manage to stay open.

He is trying to reign in all healthcare under government control and has openly stated he would control drug usage by government stockpiling of drugs and letting the "government" figure out who needs the drugs more. You really want to go that way? Those determined "too" elderly will not receive certain drugs as determined by your socialist government.

You poor folks are so narrow-minded in your thinking, it never phases you that perhaps there are those who actually educate themselves and they are NOT republicans. Democrats are so stuck on republicans, they have no recourse when called out on the mat than to point fingers toward another party. What about those who aren't for either party and see what's happening. Obama has made it clear with his own two lips what he wants to do. It seems most of his continued supporters (and there are lots who have regretted voting for him)tend to immediately make slams and point fingers toward the past or ANY republican for that matter if they don't like what they see their own president doing now. It's a shame really.........
Not snooty..just ignorant
and prejudiced.
What an IGNORANT Post
I have seen some pretty ridiculous posts on here, but this one takes the cake.

I am a Democrat and am NONE of the things you seem to think we are.

My father was a veteran of every US war since WWII and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. He fought for YOUR rights and freedom. I don't recall any of you right wingers sitting holding my hand at nights while my father was serving in the jungles of Viet Nam. Most assuredly Do NOT assume that I am a fan of Jane Fonda!!

Do not assume you know anything about me. I know nothing about you except for your narrow-minded opinion expressed for all the world to see.

Thank you for illustrating how narrow minded and hypocritical some people truly are.
I would call you ignorant, but really I think

you're just plain sub-human.

BTW, I am a Christian and your twisted idea of what Christianity is what has driven a lot of good people away from it.

I almost feel sorry for you, but I'm sure you don't have the capacity to even know what that means.

another ignorant post from a neocon

Your accusation that because Im liberal/democrat/anti war and so I smoke reefer shows your ignorance..PERIOD..I dont post in broad generalizations and I ask you to show me where I have..PLEASE SHOW ME WHERE I HAVE POSTED IN BROAD GENERALIZATIONS OR LIES.  And, I once again ask you to show me the news reports of where there was a stench in the DC mall because of the anti war people or the anti war people in your town do not bathe and stink..Show me the stories..Waiting for the proof..sure hope you can post it, otherwise guess you are discredited and proven to be a liar (so what else is new, conservative=liar)..Guess you need to find another handle to post under the liberal board, LOL.

First of all...please do not classify my statements as ignorant...
who are YOU to decide that??

We are NOT France, piglet. Do you honestly think that Cornell or Harvard or any of the premiere medical programs in this country could train doctors as well if they were dependent upon the government for funding? You have GOT to be kidding. To bring those schools to the level they are right now, do you have ANY idea what that would cost? I repeat...you have GOT to be kidding. You might as well sign your entire paycheck over to the government.

And what great medical minds have come out of French schools lately? Any great medical minds in France probably graduated from Cornell or Harvard. Well I take that back...if they came to school here, they stayed here. That is another thing...I would be interested in the numbers of Canadian doctors who fled that wonderful system and now work here? I would venture to say....hundreds.

As to 78% of the French as satisfied with their program...I doubt that is a real number unless someone went door to door in person to 78% of the French and asked them if they were satisfied. After they take a big tax hit to pay for this program, as the cost is catching up with them...ask them AGAIN. I would bet that figure, real or not, takes a nose dive.

Yes, I can argue that citizens under socialized health care are satisfied with it. If they are satisfied with it, why do they cross the border to come HERE when they need an operation and can't jump the line? Why do people from those countries bring their children to Cornell or other hospitals to be treated because of lines and quotas? Why do they bring children with significant diseases here? Because the best medical minds in the world are HERE. And whether you agree or not, that will no longer be the case under socialized medicine. Socialized medicine has a smothering effect on research because it sucks up all the research money. It sucks up the money from a LOT of places. You need to think this through, piglet, and stop focusing on "free" because that is what you are focusing on. And what a, to use your word, "ludicrous" thing THAT is.

Your relatives in Montreal may be fine with it.....however, I have read article after article from Canadian newspapers with people fed up with Canada's system...a system which will give clean needles to drug addicts but won't supply needs to diabetics. And whatever the "universal plan" won't cover, still comes out of your pocket.

And while you may want the government to decide when and where you need health care and to what degree, and where they have to draw the line because of cost, taking any choice from you, that is up to you, I do not, and I will fight it tooth and nail. Which is my right. I do NOT want to end up with over half my paycheck going to taxes. I will fight THAT tooth and nail. It is already 35%. Piglet, that is ENOUGH. If they cannot provide entitlements for that amount, then they need to decide what entitlement is the most important and prioritize. There are a great MANY Canadians who are at the 50-55% point already. Please do not say you are okay with all your fellow Americans having 50% of their wages taken off the top so you don't have to pay an insurance premium.

You know, the reason insurance companies are walking up and down aisles doing those studies is because the health care profession would not police itself and start looking at cost realistically. Insurance coompanies organizing large groups of people gave them the push they needed to negotiate these costs down. Much like unions did in the beginning. And you want to remove that and hand it over to government. Basically you are wanting to take from insurance companies the right to negotiate prices down for consumers, and instead let the government take all choice out of it and make all your choices for you. You are willing to relinquish total control to the government just so you don't have to pay for your own insurance. What you are asking is that your fellow Americans cough it up so you don't have to. Because that is where the government gets every dime it spends. From your fellow Americans. Pardon me if I do not understand that. I do not expect my fellow Americans to insure me or my kids, feed me or clothe me or give me a check when I am fully capable of doing all that for myself. I may have to work harder or longer than some, but I will do that before I will ask you or any other American to pay any more taxes so that I do not have to pay an insurance premium.

Oh my God. You really sound ignorant, but I am not going to say anymore. nm
