This shows a true and disturbing lack of knowledge regarding the Israeli

If true this truly is disturbing
I watched this and sat in tears. If this is true its absolutely horrible. This is basically murder and everyone who doesn't help these babies live has played a part in their murder. How can this lady say she witnessed it and held the babies until they died with no emotion in her face or even a quiver in her voice. I'm not for Barack. There are a lot of disturbing things about him that have made me decide not to vote for him, but this I just cannot believe. It almost sounds like some skit someone wrote for this lady to recite. I know lots of nurses and have worked at lots of hospitals in different states and this is just something that is unheard of. I will still not be voting for Barack, but not because of this. It sounds like, and I believe, this is probably put out by the republicans and I just don't believe it. Nobody brings a baby somewhere and leaves them on a table in some room with a toilet in it for the baby to die when the baby is alive and just walk away. That is not hospital policy at any hospital I know of, and if I met this lady in person I would tell her she has no business being a nurse.

On the other hand I will also not be voting for McCain. If I hear him say in his condescending tone once more "my friends" I think I will put my boot through the TV. He also is not someone I trust.

Man do politics really suck!

Is it any wonder that Israeli war hawks might be shaken up
by that upstart new kid on the block? I am sure the very idea of nuclear nonproliferation dialog sends shivers up their spine since until now, they are the only country in the region that has held an impressive US-backed unclear arsenal.

Nuclear nonproliferation talks with Iran from a "do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do" and "never-mind-our-nuclear-stockpiles-in-Israel" approach is not likely to go over big with Iran's negotiators. As long as we are coming at them with this truckload of hypocrisy, they are likely to just continue on their current course of nuclear arms development (that can NEVER catch up to US-backed Israel's arsenal). Nonproliferation is a two-way street, remember? Balance of power in the region currently favors Iran's current course of action, like it or not.

I can see why Israel's war hawks might be feeling a tad nervous at this point. So yeah, this is going to be a really tricky pass on Obama's part and the very idea that he not only has intent, but also has a plan of strategy makes me feel more secure.

By the way, do you guy NEVER tire of all that fear, fear, fear?
It is as much Israeli as ALSO Palestinian land...nm
nm
Israeli intelligence is far superior to our own...at this point

This man knows these things because he has been involved in Israel's intelligence community since the late 60s early 70s and is currently a consultant to the US.

Did you know that our fed gov is currently hiring like gangbusters? They are striving to improve our security as a nation. Surprise! We actually have a president who is trying to improve things! We will get attacked under Obama's watch - you can pretty much count on it. But, I suspect he will not ignore intelligence warnings beforehand - like Bush did.

If possible, think for one moment what it would mean for Israeli troops to fight in Iraq. TI
If I need to say anymore, my suspicions will be confirmed.
I despise Olmert, as many Israeli do. However, article is not correct. TI

Much as he appears to be without experience in combat, he served with Tsva HaHagana LeYisrael, Israel Defense Forces, with the Golani Brigade.   The Golani Brigade is an Israeli infantry brigade that was formed in 1948.  It is one of the most highly decorated infantry units in the Israeli Defense Forces. He was forced to leave after an injury.

My motives are nothing more than the knowledge.
And I am not quite sure what you mean by the "nail us". I am quite sure you had nothing to do with it so I am not sure why you have taken such a defensive posture.

I was just surprised by it and wanted to dig further. This is just one more nasty side to war, another reason why I'm against it. I am sorry if it offends you. I am distressed that it gets little US media coverage, just like so much of the nasty aspects of war that it seems our government dosen't elaborate on, dismiss, hide, or what have you because it makes it easier to justify their stance on war if they don't actually have to look at it.

It's not the soldiers I worry about, it's the ones giving the orders to the soldiers that I don't have much trust in doing the right thing.

I don't believe it proper for us as Americans to pass such harsh judgment of other's culture. Is it not possible that these children who are at risk are at risk because the war has left them that way?

I do not believe that "re-educating" them will have any lasting effect. This paragraph sums it up pretty good I think:

"What is wrong with this picture? First, it should be obvious that it is not the job of the U.S. government to tell people what version of Islam to embrace on pain of permanent incarceration. As long as people are not committing or fomenting acts of violence, it is not our role to pressure them into changing their faith. When did it become acceptable to set religious conversion of any kind as the price that frightened people must pay for their freedom?"

Is it not possible that when it is said and done that it won't actually have the opposite effect?

We are no better. We let thousands of our children go hungry and without health care every day. The largest growing population of homeless in America are children. What does that say about us? Would that justify foreign governments to come here and investigate us because we are allowing it to happen? Our own children turn to violence. They fall prey to gangs every day and commit horrendous crimes. So in essence, we ARE allowing our children to turn to violence and crime. What kind of morals and integrity do we have?

I don't believe we are in a position to start pointing fingers and I don't believe it is ou job to interfere.

First hand knowledge..........sm
My pastor received one of these letters just prior to the election.

Theory proven. End of research.
As for having knowledge of the constitution
this new judge BO has appointed believes that if states ban guns like D.C. has....it is constitutional.  So it seems as though BO has appointed someone who will help him get rid of our rights to have guns.
Haven't seen much bursting from your well of knowledge .....
ahem. AHEM. lol. Gargle with Listerine and you will get rid of some of that nasty phlegm. I have no trouble *dealing with it.* Keep up the drive-by one-liner sniping...so typical of liberals these days. If you don't like my posts...well *deal with it.* lol.
Biden has his own "lack of knowledge" -and did not
nm
And you have firsthand knowledge of that...uhuh, right.
x
I remember when *intelligence* actually meant knowledge...sm
No I don't want to sit around and wait to be killed along with my loved ones or anyone else's, but when my day and time comes there's nothing anyone can say or do to stop it. What I don't agree with is the preemptive war in Iraq..period. And you are sadly mistaken, IF Saddam had ordered an attack or enabled an attack like 9-11 to be carried out in America I would be the first to stand up and say let's go get him. But, then Bush probably would go after Kim Jong-il, go figure.

Al Quaeda attacked America, yet we have spent the majority of our time and energy in Iraq fighting insurgents in that country and IMHO made more enemies for ourselves.
Knowledge is a beautiful thing...and can be eery too.sm
OMG, the coincidental things especially in the introduction were bone chilling.

And the intimidation of witnesses who didn't corraborate the the Boeing 77 in the Pentagon.

How about the rep. for the steel engineering company (the company that makes the steel for the Boeings) being fired after saying that it would take 3000 degree heat for it to poof go up in air without a trace.

Thank you, thank you for posting this. I've always felt in my gut that there was more to this story. I'm not saying that islamic terrorist weren't involved, but it wouldn't be the first time that our government has worked with them.

Those who have refused to post respecfully and with knowledge of

banned.  I can't tell you how important it is to show professionalism when posting.  As well, I have posted in the past that I will not tolerate disrespect of the President of the United States, regardless of what your political affiliation is.  Whether the President were Democrat, Republican, or polka dotted, this site expects posters to post with respect where the President is concerned or not at all.

Disturbing

This is just 1 paragraph taken from a much longer article but it is something I did not know. This does not bode well for anyone. This is worse than Chalabi as informant and/or US hand-picked Iraqi statesman of some sort or the other.

Interestingly, some of the earliest suicide bombings commonly attributed to Hezbollah, such as the 1983 attacks on the US embassy and marine barracks in Beirut, were believed by American intelligence sources at the time to have been orchestrated by the Iraqi Dawa party. Hezbollah barely existed in 1983 and Dawa cadres are said to have been instrumental in setting it up at Tehran's behest. Dawa's current leadership includes none other than the new Iraqi prime minister, Nuri al-Maliki, feted last week in London and Washington as the great hope for the future of the Middle East. As the old saying goes, today's terrorist is tomorrow's statesman - at least when it suits us.

Disturbing

Hardly an American-like comment.

I find it "interesting" that Obama won't meet McCain for a town hall setting at any military bases.  Anyone who is a POW for 5 years is more than a patriot.

This "meeting place" has become so "out there" I may as well be on the moReon, Huffpost, or Daily Kook sites!

This is clearly embarrassing.

Your responses are disturbing.
I don't believe I have ever seen a more angry and irrational person.
What I find disturbing about this is
I believe the GOP is in shock, fractured, incapable of accepting defeat and pretty clueless about how to pick themselves up and put themselves back together. As a consequence and coupled with their gut-level adversion to Obama, I think we will be seeing a whole lot more of these desperate, destructive tactics for quite some time to come. It's sad, because if there were ever a time in recent history we need to be pulling together, that would be now.
Very disturbing concept.
I don't believe it will pass the constitutional smell test, but you're right to be concerned about the potential for abuse - i.e., being used against citizens in the name of "national security". This very possibility is the reason the military services are strictly prohibited from conducting anything but humanitarian operations within the contintental US. It is also one of the reasons we have never had a federal police agency (as opposed to federal investigative and special enforcement agencies).

The record of such paramilitary organizations in other countries is rife with examples of abuse and we should absolutely march in the streets if necessary to prevent such an organization from ever being formed in this country.
One thing I find VERY disturbing

is that there have been several posts on these boards in the past regarding the rampant child sexual abuse that happens in this country, and I've always been amazed how those on the right didn't post anything objecting to this.  I would think members of the party that claims to have all the *family values* in this country would be outraged at the sexual abuse of children, yet not a whimper of disgust from them.

Equally alarming is the fact that the leader of the Oregon Christian Coalition resigned recently because of charges that he sexually abused female family members, which, last time I checked, this was called INCEST.  I posted the the article concerning this, and again, you could hear the proverbial pin drop -- not one word of outrage.  Only one post from them, *winking* as they said *We should lock up all the evil perverted conservatives.*

Is there something wrong with ME because I believe we SHOULD lock up all the *evil, perverted* people, whether they're conservatives or not?

Or is there something else more sinister going on within the Christian Coalition, where incest isn't really a big deal?  Given the consistent lack of outrage over this issue from conservatives, it makes me wonder. Makes me wonder what Harriet Miers' views are on this issue.

America, what is happening to you???!!

Your anti-Americanism is disturbing. sm

*Sorry arses*   You compare the Revolutionary War to World War II.  You call names and label. You are violently nearly out of control with your anger and your very wording borders on horrendously out of control.  Do people really take you seriously in discussion. If so, why?

I find it rather disturbing that Obama
is wanting to control executive pay.  Why does our government have a right to tell people what they can make?  Besides, aren't these the same loser who get a raise every year no matter what.  How about we cap what these losers can make and get rid of their benefits and maybe they will actually start working for the American people and not their own person gain.  I'm so sick of our government.  Nothing but crooks!!!!
Frankly gt you are pretty disturbing all by your lonesome. I'd like to think
there's only one of you.
Disturbing info about concentration camps in U.S.
Now, I know what you might be thinking - U.S. concentration camps?? Really the stuff of tin-foil hatters on the Internet fringe! I've been hearing about them for years but sort of wrote it all off as the wackiest of the wackiness out there - after all where are they? Who has seen them? Couldn't happen here.

So, I'm really not sure what to make of this - it's the third or fourth report I've heard recently and getting harder to ignore. Article:

____________________________
Early Warning! Is Bush Preparing to Wage War on Americans?

He has asserted his power to do so amid reports that there are some 800 detention camps throughout the US, staffed, as yet empty but ready for operation. Armed guards are reported to be in place. [ See: INN World Report (Free Speech TV), February 7 broadcast]

The official cover story is that FEMA maintains these facilities in the event of a mass influx of illegal immigrants or in case of national emergency. It is more likely, that the detention camps are created to house political subversives.

(1) The President is now claiming, and is aggressively exercising, the right to use any and all war powers against American citizens even within the United States, and he insists that neither Congress nor the courts can do anything to stop him or even restrict him.

—Glenn Greenwald: The NSA Fight Begins - Strategies for Moving Forward, The Huffington Post

The Pacific News Service meanwhile reports that Homeland Security had awarded a $385 million dollar contract to Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg, Brown and Root to construct detention and processing facilities in the event of a national emergency.

That's only part of the article but gives the gist of the story with several more references for the subject. I find it very chilling. Not surprising particularly, but still very chilling. Six years ago I didn't believe it at all. Now? I might!

oops got cut off...Her preaching/her words that are DISTURBING...SM
to say the least!!!!

I don't agree with every single thing my pastor says.
No "witchhunt", just truth. Disturbing, isnt it?
nm
W's clueless response is equally as disturbing.
"So what if the guy threw his shoe at me?" Bush told a reporter in response to a question about the incident.

"Let me talk about the guy throwing his shoe. It's one way to gain attention. It's like going to a political rally and having people yell at you. It's like driving down the street and having people not gesturing with all five fingers. ...These journalists here were very apologetic. They ... said this doesn't represent the Iraqi people, but that's what happens in free societies where people try to draw attention to themselves."

So what? How many agree that this guy was seeking attention? Only on the W planet would the alleged leader of the free world be so unconscious and so casual about this deepest of insults. Who cares? Not W, evidently.

which clearly you lack.
h
I don't think character (or lack of it)...

...is restricted to one political party.

Whether this crook is a Democrat or a Republican, he should be tossed in jail and the keys thrown away.  Period.

What I see as sad is people who lack
the common sense required to set their fears aside and look at all sides of an issue objectively and intelligently instead of allowing others to interpret information for them, often intentionally misleading the reader/listener. Parroting alarmist misinformation is representative of the sad state our country is in.
lack of integrity

I am a died-in-the-wool Democrat and also from Pennsylvania.   I have a legitimate interest in this. I have always admired Arlen Specter (he certainly never gives up)  and have mostly agreed with his policies.  However I think it shows a total lack of integrity to switch parties in the middle of a term. He was elected as a Repbulican and should serve as a Republican........after all he can still vote according to his conscience.   If he wants to run next year as a Democrat, then so be it,  but he should remain a Repbulican until the end of his term. It is unfair to

This Democrat who previously voted for Specter will not have my vote again!

No, your lack of compassion upsets me. sm
You need to think about THAT.
Well, then.... that explains your lack thereof.

Lack of common sense

An 83-year-old woman is too old, most likely, to be of much assistance in Iraq.  Not ruling it out totally, but most likely this is the case.  I have gleaned from the posts I have read that the rah-rah-war conservatives doing most of the posting are fairly able-bodied, some in their 30s, some in their 50s and some older.  I am 52 and if I truly truly believed in this war I feel I would be over there doing what I could to support that effort (especially since many over there do NOT want to be there and have serious qualms about our involvement).  But go ahead, call me names and make even more ENDLESS excuses why you won't go.  Maybe even mention a 95-year-old or a 5-year-old that supports the war as examples of folks who aren't over there.

In the meantime I read more and more that the Taliban and Al-Qaeda continue to grow and operate at ease and at will in a large area of Afghanistan near Pakistan.

Total lack of compassion
I wanted to like this woman, and I did for approximately the first 48 hours after she was named as Sen. McCain's running mate. Then I heard from a close friend whose sister teaches high school Spanish in the small Alaskan town SP was mayor of. SP's son, the one who is about to be deployed overseas, was her student a few years ago and allegedly not a high-achieving one. My friend's sister said he was disrespectful and acted like he thought he was better than everyone else, and when it came time for the parent-teacher conference SP blamed his failing grades on her.

Okay, so this is one person's biased description and I didn't pay a lot of attention to it, but THEN I discovered her history regarding wildlife, ecology and "hunting," and I have to tell you this is a deal breaker for me.

What is so incredible to me is that she appears extremely caring and passionate regarding issues related to motherhood, family, child welfare and the right to life, yet she is completely void of emotion or sensitivity towards "lesser" forms of life. I don't care that she's a lifetime member of the NRA or even that she's a hunter, but she has a frightening and callous history in terms of wielding her legal power to exploit, maim and destroy wildlife and their natural habitats.

I'm so disgusted and disillusioned by all the political BS and hype coming from every direction that I can honestly say I don't plan to vote in the coming election.
the mind or lack thereof

worried about what someone said to a football player rather than the fact that US economy is on verge of collapse.  The McCainites are attempting to distract everyone again .... dum da dum dum

It's getting late and the lack of information
way more time than I have at the moment to address. Obama spent much time in Kenya in an OFFICIAL capacity....sent there while serving on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. I will be expanding on this tomorrow and look forward to the slam dunk that a few tiny facts will exact on this trash you are trying to peddle.
have you ever heard of anyone who dies because of a lack of
health care? We treat everyone here--part of why LA can't keep an emergency room open. Ask Canadians if people die waiting for health care. As for Michael Moore--I would not waste my money.
I would not call that a lack of character...

I would actually call it strong character that she can praise Obama's win even though she feels he has anti-American views.  So that is her opinion, as many of us here feel.

i don't really care about his o connection or lack of
dig it. they killed those pigs. - he and his wife are jerks
Lack of interest was the point.
Focks Noise is rarely relevant. I am retired and as grown as I can get. Resorting to name calling when someone doesn't agree with you does not exactly imply a great deal of maturity.
Yep, under Bush's lack of leadership nm
nm
You assume a lack of compassion....
but your snotty self-righteous attitude speaks for itself. Get over it.
The lack of one pretty much speaks for itself...
nm
So where do YOU think such lack for the sanctity of life comes
xx
and I don't believe their lack of support for O equals hate
x
Lack of intelligent conversation on your part
nm
Like lack of a valid birth certificate and that he...sm
would absolutely in no uncertain terms allow pork barrel projects? I could go on and on about the FACTS as the liberals see it, but by my dictionary - and without regard to news media or the channels thereof - these are NOT facts! Just wait - you'll find out for yourself. I'll be right here to tell you "I tried to tell you so!"
Trolls like YOU (and the lack of an ignore button) are the reasons

I can't stand it here any more.  You do nothing but troll this board, stalk and attack posters.  You add nothing of an intelligent or substantive nature to anything you post.  Coming to this board used to be nice, but now it's like standing in a field as flies leave a nearby manure pile and suddenly hover around me and my friends, and I wind up spending too much time swatting them away.  You simply can't be nice and civil to people.  Nobody wants to subject themselves to that all the time. You've been relentless in your attacks against gt, and all it does is make you look like a horrible person, whether you realize it or not.

As far as debate, I'd love to debate issues, but personal attacks based on one's views is NOT debate, and that's all you do.

Here's an example of a post on Maher's board by an intelligent conservative who I believe I could learn a lot from.  Note the EXTREME difference in this person's communication skills, compared to yours and those of your ilk on this board.

This poster generates interest and respect.  Your posts generate disgust.

The Republicans Here Are Fake

I just came to this board today. I watched Real Time with Bill Maher for the first time last night and really enjoy it. While I do not agree with him on his views, I enjoy listening to politcal arguments and he does make strong cases.

I have been a life long Republican and served on numerous state campaigns as both a volunteer and paid worker. I know the value of a true debate and what it yields.

I searched for Bill Maher this morning and immediatley found this board. I have spent the last couple hours reading through countless posts and views of people from both sides of the political aisle. It is truly a shocking and numbing experience.

I see that most from the left provide a rational view and expressed opinions, but then I see the right has no true representation here. I have come across a few posters that say they are Republicans, but as a Republican I can assure you they do not stand for our parties beliefs.

A couple of the names I have seen include; helloinfidels, ketchupholic, mudwhistle, and theraceman.

While I am only passing by, I wanted to share with you my views on these individuals, as a person with a strong politcal background. I have a few explanations into the actions of these individuals and would like to post them for you.

-These people only argue because they purely like to argue with no goal in mind except to upset other.

-These individuals are truly Democrats, posing as Republicans in an attempt to smear the Republican party

- These people truly do not know what the Republican party stands for

In any of the above cases, we would rather they not try to represent our party, as they are actually mis-representing it.

I have been a member of numerous political forums, and I assure you that we would not allow any of these people to exist on our boards. They give no basis of fact with their arguments and only make them to hear themselves self promote a disturbing agenda.

I hope the majority of the people on here do not lend credit to their foolish assertions and realize they represent no party in this country.

Thank you for hearing from me and I look forward to some civil political debate on here without the rhetoric those few seem to rely upon.
