banned.  I can't tell you how important it is to show professionalism when posting.  As well, I have posted in the past that I will not tolerate disrespect of the President of the United States, regardless of what your political affiliation is.  Whether the President were Democrat, Republican, or polka dotted, this site expects posters to post with respect where the President is concerned or not at all.

My motives are nothing more than the knowledge.
And I am not quite sure what you mean by the "nail us". I am quite sure you had nothing to do with it so I am not sure why you have taken such a defensive posture.

I was just surprised by it and wanted to dig further. This is just one more nasty side to war, another reason why I'm against it. I am sorry if it offends you. I am distressed that it gets little US media coverage, just like so much of the nasty aspects of war that it seems our government dosen't elaborate on, dismiss, hide, or what have you because it makes it easier to justify their stance on war if they don't actually have to look at it.

It's not the soldiers I worry about, it's the ones giving the orders to the soldiers that I don't have much trust in doing the right thing.

I don't believe it proper for us as Americans to pass such harsh judgment of other's culture. Is it not possible that these children who are at risk are at risk because the war has left them that way?

I do not believe that "re-educating" them will have any lasting effect. This paragraph sums it up pretty good I think:

"What is wrong with this picture? First, it should be obvious that it is not the job of the U.S. government to tell people what version of Islam to embrace on pain of permanent incarceration. As long as people are not committing or fomenting acts of violence, it is not our role to pressure them into changing their faith. When did it become acceptable to set religious conversion of any kind as the price that frightened people must pay for their freedom?"

Is it not possible that when it is said and done that it won't actually have the opposite effect?

We are no better. We let thousands of our children go hungry and without health care every day. The largest growing population of homeless in America are children. What does that say about us? Would that justify foreign governments to come here and investigate us because we are allowing it to happen? Our own children turn to violence. They fall prey to gangs every day and commit horrendous crimes. So in essence, we ARE allowing our children to turn to violence and crime. What kind of morals and integrity do we have?

I don't believe we are in a position to start pointing fingers and I don't believe it is ou job to interfere.

First hand knowledge..........sm
My pastor received one of these letters just prior to the election.

Theory proven. End of research.
As for having knowledge of the constitution
this new judge BO has appointed believes that if states ban guns like D.C. has....it is constitutional.  So it seems as though BO has appointed someone who will help him get rid of our rights to have guns.
UAW has refused......... sm
any cuts in pay until their current contract expires in 2011. Of course, if the companies sgo under, that will become a very moot point. I think a better approach would be to take a cut in pay now and then renegotiate in 2011 when things are, hopefully, better. OTOH, there is no guarantee that this bailout would even save the companies, so it may be a moot issue anyway.
You are so right... many refused to see
nm
Haven't seen much bursting from your well of knowledge .....
ahem. AHEM. lol. Gargle with Listerine and you will get rid of some of that nasty phlegm. I have no trouble *dealing with it.* Keep up the drive-by one-liner sniping...so typical of liberals these days. If you don't like my posts...well *deal with it.* lol.
Biden has his own "lack of knowledge" -and did not
nm
And you have firsthand knowledge of that...uhuh, right.

Yes....probably the ones who refused to evacuate...
as former Gov Kathleen Blanco alluded to in her interview today. She has certainly backed off on blaming the feds. That being said...there obviously were failures. They started with local authorities not abrigating authority to the "feds" like Bush begged Blanco to do. You missed those press conferences where she said she would call for help when she needed it? Well by the time she called for help it was too late...and her call then was "Mr President I need help send all you have" which is exactly what he did...but too late.

I don't know why we have to keep beating this dead horse. That is past, lessons were learned at both levels. I have been watching Ray Nagin today and he is NOTHING like the Ray Nagin before, belligerent and saying he could handle it. Now he is on the offensive talking to those who refuse to evacuate...because he knows that had a great deal to do with the humanitarian disaster. Let me paraphrase: "If you refuse to evacuate, you are on your own." "If anyone is caught looting, I mean ANYONE, you will be taken straight to Angola and placed in the general population (read up on Angola prison...). You will NOT be held in New Orleans. You will go straight to Angola prison." No due process, no nothing, he is shipping them straight to Angola. I never thought I wuld hear a Democrat say to skip due process. That is a VERY different Ray Nagin. And Bobby Jindal and Kathleen Blanco...well, enough said. Bobby Jindal started preparations before Gustav was even named a hurricane. THAT is the kind of leadership that would have helped make the toll of Katrina MUCH less. That, and the fact that the people of New Orleans are not having hurricane parties like they were last time (remember the footage on Bourbon Street before Katrina hit?) They are evacuating. Thank God!
I remember when *intelligence* actually meant knowledge...sm
No I don't want to sit around and wait to be killed along with my loved ones or anyone else's, but when my day and time comes there's nothing anyone can say or do to stop it. What I don't agree with is the preemptive war in Iraq..period. And you are sadly mistaken, IF Saddam had ordered an attack or enabled an attack like 9-11 to be carried out in America I would be the first to stand up and say let's go get him. But, then Bush probably would go after Kim Jong-il, go figure.

Al Quaeda attacked America, yet we have spent the majority of our time and energy in Iraq fighting insurgents in that country and IMHO made more enemies for ourselves.
Knowledge is a beautiful thing...and can be eery too.sm
OMG, the coincidental things especially in the introduction were bone chilling.

And the intimidation of witnesses who didn't corraborate the the Boeing 77 in the Pentagon.

How about the rep. for the steel engineering company (the company that makes the steel for the Boeings) being fired after saying that it would take 3000 degree heat for it to poof go up in air without a trace.

Thank you, thank you for posting this. I've always felt in my gut that there was more to this story. I'm not saying that islamic terrorist weren't involved, but it wouldn't be the first time that our government has worked with them.

Either way, he could have refused to work on the case. NM

He refused to be released from prison...
because there were men who had been there longer than he had and he felt using his dad's clout to get him out was wrong for those men, and it was, and that takes the kind of courage and integrity Barack Obama can only dream about.

How can you say he never regretted it? Does Obama regret throwing a friend and mentor, the man who baptized his children, under the bus for his political career? This is a man you should trust? Hello??
Bye, Administrator. You have refused to control them, and your trolls have won.

You've been unable or unwilling to control these pests.  They refuse to stay on their own Conservative board because they're not happy unless they are personally attacking posters.

I can't begin to speculate how many other people you've lost because of this hateful group, but you've lost me.

To any thinking, intelligent people out there who woul like to visit a GOOD site where abusive trolls can be IGNORED, please visit Bill Maher's site.  The topics and information are limitless, freedom of speech is guaranteed for ALL, and although there are a few hateful people there, it's nothing compared to the hate and anger and rage that is found on this board.  You don't have to be subjected to personal attacks in a street gang mentality that happens here because you can simply click the ignore button.  All in all, I believe a truer, better representation of what America really is can be found there.

Bye, all.

Good for Fox News...they refused to run an ad against Obama...

put together by a private citizen (not the McCain campaign), the same guy who was behind the swift boat ads against Kerry.  They could have run it and they chose not to.  Good for them!  I admit, there is cause for concern about Obama's connection to Ayers, but that kind of ad where it is mean accusation and innuendo with no real proof shouldn't be run, in my opinion.  Good for them for stepping up.

She refused to answer the moderator's questions!
Sarah Palin had certain talking points that had been drilled into her, and she was going to get them out tonight by hook or by crook. She decided not to pay attention to the moderator's questions and just respond at whim with the canned talking points word for word. Although, she didn't officially crash and burn, she definitively did not show one ounce of intelligence. She was more like a Chatty Cathy Doll. Pull her string and she will give you a canned talking point. Pull it again...you get another canned talking point! Heaven help the entire earth if this wacko is elected to office!
Bush did reach across the aisle. They refused to

Oops, meant to post this under the loose trolls post...
I'm going to keep ignoring these troll posts.  It's kind of fun, actually, just pretend you don't see them.
Post the direct link. I don't see the post you're referring to.

I imagine there are as many emotions and thoughts going on with our troops as possible and each does not feel the same as the other, which is obvious by the posts here.
Sorry gourdpainter, my other post should have been under the wacky Pakistan post (nm)

Why did you post this? Republicans have been asked NOT to post here..Bye Bye.
Why did you post this?  Happy Thanksgiving is enough but to be so happy we have a republican president?  Why did you post that?  I would like to remind you, you are on the liberal board.  Are you trying to start trouble?  If so, let me know and I will report you immediately.  No, Im not happy we have a republican president, a warmonger chickenhawk president.  Does that answer your question?  Now, go back to the republican board.  We dont want you here and actually the moderator and administrator have asked republicans not to post here..Bye..bye..
Forgot to post a link in 1st post. Sorry.

The above post explains a lot about everything else you post!
Your revelation about being married to a career Army guy explains why your views are skewed so drastically to the far right! objective views. This is a one-sided publication that asks for donations to keep it going. Nothing I read in there posts anything against any democrats, just republicans. It is not a fair-minded reporting.

I like to read both sides of the aisle but this publication spews hatred for anything not democratic in order to sell books.  To those who can't see both sides, this blog, or publication as they like to state, is just up their aisle. I shake my head at one-sided news. Taken from their web site:

"Indeed, a founding idea of the Consortium for Independent Journalism was that a major investment was needed in journalistic endeavors committed to honestly informing the American people about important events, no matter what the political and economic pressures.

While we are proud of the journalistic contribution that this Web site has made over the past decade – and while we are deeply grateful to our readers whose contributions have kept us afloat – we also must admit that we have not made the case well enough that this mission is a vital one.

Robert Parry broke many of the Iran-Contra stories in the 1980s for the Associated Press and Newsweek. His new book, Secrecy & Privilege: Rise of the Bush Dynasty from Watergate to Iraq, can be ordered at secrecyandprivilege.com. It's also available at Amazon.com, as is his 1999 book, Lost History: Contras, Cocaine, the Press & 'Project Truth.' "

I second your post and 'watcher's post
is misinformed crap.
My post was a direct answer to the direct post...
of Democrat. It was not a blank open-ended statement. And dial it back a notch...it is certainly your right to protest anything any time you want to. Just like it is my right to protest you protesting while men and women are still in harm's way, because you are in effect aiding the enemy. Apparently the Viet Nam experience taught you nothing. Americans protesting in the streets heartened the enemy and when they were about to surrender decided not to, based a lot upon what was happening in the American streets. I believe that the protesting in that war prolonged the war and cost more American lives. Hanoi Jane should have been tried for treason. That being said...lessons were not learned and the protestors are doing the exact same thing now. Exercising the very right bought for them by shedding of American military blood. And I still say common courtesy should keep people out of the streets and off the TV until the military are home safe. But it just proves the same thing to me over and over...the selfISHhness of the protestors vs. the selfLESSness of the military. They continue to put it all on the line for your right to protest anything you want to protest...it is up to YOU to decide where and when that is appropriate, and it is up to you to take the heat for same. It is up to me and others like me (in my opinion) to apply that heat. Go ahead and do whatever your conscience or lack thereof moves you to do. But do not expect those of a different mind not to protest the protest.
Thanks for the post. I think I will look up that

article.

And thanks for pointing out all the other "results" of his administration that, as you say, benefit nobody but the rich and/or the corporations or, as he himself once publicly bragged, "his base."

I know for a fact that when he ran for President in 2000, I told every single person I knew that if he becomes President, we're going to go to war with Iraq.  (Nobody's gonna treat his daddy like Saddam did and get away with it.)

I didn't have a crystal ball.  I had common sense and a good memory from the Gulf War when his father was President and how he didn't "finish the job." Seems a lot of other Americans forgot about that.

I really enjoyed reading your post and all the facts you raised that I failed to raise in mine.  Thanks for the mention of the LA Times article.  I'm going to try to look that up on the web.

I know they don't. I said that in my post. NM

Actually, that post is right on. sm
You sound like a total lunatic, out of control and full of hatred.  You sound like someone who could do just what "vs" says.  You had best take a look at your behavior.  YOUR posts are the ones who should be reported.  You are one frightening person.
Re your post

From your post:

"Did you read Mein Kampf?  Would that be good enough evidence for you, because he wrote about it in there."

Wrote about what?  That the Jews were socialists?

This is an entirely different post.
Really wasn't directed to you anyhow.
your post is just sad

I'm actually feeling sad for you right now gt.  You obviously don't know what Christianity is about.  Pat Robertson does not speak for me, and I don't endorse what he said.  I'm sorry you are so bitter and hate filled that you would wish anyone to burn in hell.  There are some evil people in this world but my first wish for them is that they find Christ and turn from their evil ways with His help.  I too hope one day you find Christ, gt, and quit letting misguided Christians and Christian leaders keep you from HIM.  Their blunders are not worth your eternal soul.

thank you for your post
What a great post, so heartfelt and I thank you for it.
Yes I do. see my post below. nm

The post.

You think there is only one patriot here?  Get a trip on your sour shrivled heart and try not to speak.

Whoops! I made a mistake.  My bad.

This is the post where the NEOCON tells the LIBERAL not to speak ON HER OWN BOARD!

They can't show a post of a liberal telling Army Mom not to speak because it doesn't exist.

Where did you get that from my post?
Really?  I did?  Where do you read that in my post?  I talk about taking care of the middle class and that the rich really dont give a darn about the middle class.  I talk about a friend who is quite smug and out of touch with real America.  No where do I mention anything about Kerry or Kennedy.
please post
I would appreciate it if you could post statements from Black Americans that they are okay with Bennetts comments.
What does that have to do with gt's post
I said if we had posted something like that we would have been castigated.  You're just proving that point.  I'm not in a pissing contest with you...really
And another *right-on* post!

I agree with every single word you said.  America is becoming a very scary place indeed.  I believe, as you do, that there are people who are eagerly awaiting the *Rapture* and indeed believe they have the *inside track* to heaven.  Unfortunately, it look as if this country might actually suffer from their self-fulfilled prophecy if it continues going backwards in time under Bush's completely inept leadership.

Please keep posting.  I really enjoy reading your posts.

Thanks very much for your post.

It makes me feel a lot better to hear someone say they're against this.  When express outrage at my posting about the issue, instead of expressing outrage about the issue itself, it truly makes me wonder.

I honestly do not recall any threads on the conservative board about this issue.  All I recall is total silence (or attacks) when the issue is mentioned.

I also wasn't trying to imply that the crime of child molestation is more prevalent in one political party or another.  Obviously, that's irrelevant, and I have a hard time even associating a criminal like that with any political views one way or the other.

It's just that this seems to be a no-brainer, an issue on which virtually everyone can agree, yet the right seems to be eerily quiet when this topic comes up.

Thank you for this post!
Thanks for this post!!  I heard about it somewhere but in the chaos that has become my life lately, I probably would have completely forgotten about it..so glad you submitted this..
Please see my post to you above.
I made a mistake and posted my reply in the wrong place.  Sorry.
