Yeah. We'll be falling right into the leadership shortly

Yes, they're all nuts. The change they'll get is not the change they thought

oh, they'll change plenty!

It just won't entail anything you're requesting!  Now that all 3 tiers of DC will be run by the Dems, and let me clarify the far-left wing of that party (Obama #1 most lib, Ted Kennedy #2, Joe Biden #3, clearly documented if you don't believe me).

The election is over, and I'm not here to start a fight over anything.  But what I'm saying can be proven in a year from now, 2 years, etc., so I'll make a point to keep this as a reference.  Those who voted for this tax-loving group (x3:  House, Senate, WH) apparently doesn't mind doing the "American" thing, per Joe Biden.  That's what he said about paying taxes.  So make a side-by-side comparison for each pay check you get so you can see how much more you'll be taxed once the Dems are running what may turn into a filibuster-proof Senate (the only reason they took Joe Lieberman back).  Of course, they have John McCain as well, the man who is more comfortable dissing the conservatives than he is trying to pretend he's one (other than nat'l security & pro-life, basically).

The Republicans got exactly what they deserved, too.  Conservatism didn't and will never die, but the GOP took conservatism out of its party the past several years, and this is why they were punished in a big way.  That's the only way the GOP can rebuild itself from the gound up.

When I saw the less than 10-minute "movie" called HowObamaGotElected, it was more shocking than I had even realized.  Every voter should see this, then give whatever news station(s) you prefer should get a huge reprimand from all the voters who were spoon-fed all this stuff.

Maybe DC will bail this industry out, too.  After all, it's free money, right?  I've been down this road with Columbia.  I picked myself up and moved on down the road.  One of my closest friends worked for Enron and lost well over $100K, which was nothing compared to many more there.  She, like I, didn't waste her time saying things about the players.  She certainly didn't expect the gov't to bail her out, either.

Change recession to depression and I'll agree with you.
They just signed America's death warrant.
Change and Hope: Obama wants your change and hopes you enjoy starving.... sm
...while he's partying like a rock star with the glitterati.

Meanwhile, some little old lady is hoping he doesn't get a dog and sends her the dog food instead.
I want change. Chump change. I'm voting for Obama as far as the pollsters go.

Obama is change you can believe in until you have to take it to the bank.

Our jobs have been offshored until now because of greed.  Under Obama and his taxation of small businesses, they will be offshored not because of greed but because of survival.

You could make a difference for our country by not voting for Obama, but instead, if you vote for him, you are selling out to deception.  You are embracing a socialist, a communist, a Marxist, a liar, a cheat, and someone who legally cannot run as President of the U.S., much less the Illinois senate.  But, you make your choice.  You believe the consumate liar and his lies who sat for 20 years under the teachings of a black racist preacher filled with hatred for the U.S., whose association with Bill Ayers is recent and documented down to the fact that Ayers himself wrote Obama's best-selling book (best-selling in the eyes of far left liberals that is), who is a documented member of the socialist party, whose friends and close allies are extremists who not only bomb innocent people and are unrepenetent but who intend to eliminate (kill) 25 million Americans who they cannot "re-educate" in communist ideaology (gosh dog it, those dreadful capitalists), who refuses to hand over a certified copy of his birth certificate and educational records (my goodness, don't you have to provide your birth certificate to any number of entities who want to know if you are legal, i.e., social security, DMVs, etc., and your educational records would show if you had received aid as a foreigner and in 1963 would have shown you were a negro instead of an African-American which Obama's falsified record shows, please speck up on history), and who thinks Joe the Plumber is so stupid not to realize that if he wants to achieve the American dream, he is going to achieve it only if he lets Obama take what he makes to give to those WHO WILL NOT WORK.  I'd like to see you, liberals, give a share of your 7.5 cpl to those who don't work as hard as you, but then with Obama, that's what you will have to do.  Don't be fooled by his rhetoric that only those making over $250,00 will be taxed.  We will all be taxed, and there will be no incentive to work for any of us because we will all have to give up a piece of our pie so those who do not work can have a piece of our pie.

Here is the dividing line, folks.  We are at a crossroads in our history.  The Lord Jesus puts it this way, "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction; and there are many who go in by it."

Choose which gate you enter, the wide or the narrow.  It not only determines your eternal destination, but it determines the destination of this country.  If anyone here calls themself a Christian and can vote for Osambo, I daresay you are a liar and cheat just as he.  One cannot be a Christian and vote for a party and a political candidate who is in total rebellion to God's Word.  That is a fact, and if you think any differently, then you, too, like the Obamanation, call God a liar.  May He have mercy upon your soul.  As He makes the rain fall on the just and the unjust because He is no respector of persons, we will all suffer as this country is destroyed and our Constitution that guarantees our freedoms is trampled just as Bill Ayers is pictured standing upon our flag in total disrespect, and we will thank you liberals that we are all in bondage, reduced to third world status, just as the Israelites were in Egypt.  Only Obama ain't no Moses but a Muslim and has no favor with God, and there will be no one to lead us to the Promised Land coming from the Democratic party.

Convention bounce. Big Whoop.
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/09/07/cnn-poll-of-polls-obamas-lead-shrinks-to-just-one-point/
CNN Poll of Polls: Obama's Lead Shrinks to Just One Percent –
44% to 43%. That 13% undecided vote is fair game and anybody's guess. Those guys were not terribly swayed by the debutante debut. CNN’s most recent poll consists of three surveys: CBS (September 1-3), Gallup (September 4-6), and Diageo/Hotline (September 2-4). This poll does not have a sampling error. It was taken in the middle of the pub RNC euphoria. 2-point bounce, not unexpected and not all that impressive. According to this poll, 50% mark has not been broken.

Since people change their minds daily, polls notoriously are not terribly reliable until they stabilize, which typically happens as the elections draws closer. More telling is the trend in the electoral map which is an indicator that will trump voter polls and opinion polls. Poll swap posts are a waste of time and will not effectively take focus off the issues at hand, especially with the serious blow to the economy this past weekend's FMFM news brings to light.

I saw a lot of pictures and to me it looked just like the convention,
Republican, all old and white. I saw no black faces in the crowd, just white. I think veiled attempt (at first) as an anti-Obama rally. Just talking with husband tonight. I am old and have never seen anything like what is being spouted now days, very dangerous situation for Obama, I think. Just heard man asking radio station today about concentration camps in America. What? Why is everyone running scared? What in the h. is going on? I think people are hysterical and the insanity has gone too far.
The picture was taken in California at an ANSWER convention. SM

You may remember the incident when the war first started and a soldier threw a grenade into a tent killing several other soldiers, including, I believe an officer.  This lovely show of support for the soldiers was on display at that convention.

Have you been watching the convention and does this help you in your voting decision

Have you been watching the Democrat convention and what do you think so far?  I watched it last night.  Lots of commentaries that were a little boring.  I will definitely NOT watch when both Hillary & Bill speak (they will have nothing interesting to hear), but I will watch everything else.  Loved the tribute to Kennedy.  His health condition is tragic.  He's done so much good while in the senate.  Also found Michelle to be a wonderful speaker and a very good hearted person.  She grew up and was raised similar to my beliefs and how I was raised.  She knows the struggles we Americans face every day.  I think Barack and Michelle are just a couple of very down to earth, well grounded individuals and their daughters are simply adorable.

On the republican side I am equally anxious to watch that convention.  I need to hear Cindy McCain talk before I can decide what kind of a person I think she is.  I want to hear about her and John McCain's story and what their family is like.

Does the convention help you in your choice of who you will vote for.

They said that Bill always leaves the convention the day after his speech -- nm
x
Neither President Bush or the VP are attending the convention....
Laura Bush will be representing him.  I think there will be some kind of satellite link thing from him.  I am sure this was expected by most of us.  It is in doubt whether John McCain will.  He and Sarah Palin are going to Mississippi today at the request of Gov. Haley Barbour to look at their MEMA plans and procedures.
Clinton did not ignore the Geneva Convention
Clinton didn't set up torture facilities, Clinton didn't have a secret assassination team - IF he did - don't you think the pubs would have outed him? They assassinated him over a blowjob - that's all they could come up with.
On teleprompter at Convention, they had nuclear spelled as newclear
so she would pronounce it correctly! Unfortunately, she did not have it there for Gibson interview, so she said nuculear. Pet peeve of mine.
For convention coverage minus spinning, bashing, biased

Tired of attack politics?  Don't need reporters telling you what you just saw or what to think about it?  Want a one-on-one convention experience?  Want to digest the content without the interference of disconcerting and distracting commentary?  Want to be in charge of deciding what is and what is not pertinent during the course of the conventions?  Do anchors and networks promoting their own hidden agendas get under your skin as they invent issues of no consequence, discount messages of great importance and try to stir up conflict?   Do you find most coverage obnoxious, rude and insulting to your intelligence?  Does their reporting look and sound like make believe?  Do you think our candidates, conventions, parties, issues, policies and political process deserve more dignity than a big-top circus/carnival presentation?

The solution is easy.  Switch that channel.  Try CSPAN.  Not to worry.  If you feel you are missing something in the way of staying abreast with the pundit's play-by-play smear scripts, you can always get caught up on all those issues the next time you log onto MT Stars political forum.
You are reading my mind. Plus, Sen. McCain's MOTHER attended the convention. nm
x
Yep - thumb your nose at the world and defy the Geneva Convention
that ought to protect our troops to a great degree, huh? No different than Saddam. Do what you want in the name of "protecting" the "homeland." BS
I agree with change....change to socialism...
NO THANKS.
Of course I expected you to.
You said you wouldn't be.
To whom much is given, much is expected.nm

To whom much is given, much is expected...
oh, that doesn't apply to you...forgot.
just as I expected

So I didn't bash the GOP quite enough?  Oh, please.  They (GOP) spent like crazed fools, and they deserved to be punished big-time!    I've read enough of your posts in the past.  You're one of the reasons I quit reading the politics section of this board.  The only thing of interest to me is whatever occurs MQ-wise.  As for the tax and spend reality, I repeat my "tax challenge" to everyone here to keep track as the days, months, and years play out.

The numbers aren't emotional, and will speak for themselves.  If you can list any taxes that the Dems have lowered or eradicated, go ahead and give it your best shot.

You expected something other than that....(sm)
from Fox?  This is a perfect example of the fear generating machine that is Fox News.
Wow, Democrat. I expected more from you. SM
It gets personal because it's made personal.  How you can't see that, I am not quite sure.  As for your statement elsewhere that AG and I had left before, nope. Sorry, didn't happen.  I didn't say I wasn't coming back either.    Anyways, how much more personal can you get than wishing someone to die, and I am not talking about the president.  It happened but the posts are gone.  We all responded to the person who told Nan she was old and going to die and burn in hell.  So I guess that's not personal, huh?  Tell me how many times you have seen one of us do that.  As far as debate, we give as good as we get.  I thought you knew that, but guess I was wrong yet again.  Oh well, live and learn!
Gee, who could have expected that would happen. nm
x
I didn't know you expected me to. nm
//
Exactly the response I would have expected....
if you see no difference in the way conservative posters are treated vs the way Dem posters are treated...I would not expect you to understand. It is not condescending. It is the simple truth. Your party preaches inclusion, it preaches individual freedoms, it preaches freedom of speech...yet those who post here do everything in their power to quell it, including piling on and attacking everyone who disagrees. And the more you refuse to back down, the worse they get. So they talk the talk, but they don't walk the walk. That is a double standard.
82.93% Nader..Not at all what I expected...nm

Your comments are expected, ...the next
poster was correct...useless to talk to any Obama supporter sometimes at all. Why should I type out ad nauseum all of Obama's statements, when you don't remember them at all, and them blame me for "obviously not remembering." cheap shot, yet again.

You should really listen to Rush sometime. You might learn something and expand your mind. But wait, liberals think with their hearts, not their minds.

Cancel that. Just carry on with your own, bigoted opinions.
Yep -Responses from the very ones I expected.
You all are SO predictable.

TTYL...I'm off to do something constructive for our country....
I think what they expected to happen happened....
South Viet Nam fell and there was a blood bath. Anyone who had in any way aided the Americans were imprisoned and/or killed. And huge amounts of loss of life in Cambodia...remember the Killing Fields? When the barrier of the US was removed...free rein. Just like if you remove the barrier of the US between the Sunnis and Shiites. It will get really, really ugly and I think many thousands will die before...if indeed ever...we could go back on humanitarian missions. That is my fear.

As to chaos...actually in South Viet Nam, the chaos came before we went in...the Dem administration, wanting to stop the "spread of communism" wanted to stop the North from trying to take over the SOuth...but did not like the South's leader at the time. Sooo the CIA helped with a coup to get rid of him. They did not expect the chaos that ensued. And so we went in. Sounds sooo much like what happened to get us in Iraq...except we had not been attacked on our own soil, we had not been attacked, period. They just wanted to stop the "spread of communism." And many many MANY lives later, cut and run, did not accomplish the objective and in fact made things worse. Sound familiar? Sigh. It can happen no matter what administration, no matter what party. I personally think JFK was a good president based on history...but Viet Nam was a BAD mistake. Every bit as bad in that time as Iraq has turned out to be in this one. But do I blame JFK personally for Viet Nam. No.
I expected that so where do you all get your info...please share so ...sm
we can all be on the same page here. I love how people criticize but back it up with nothing. And again I repeat...this is just ONE of the places I go to the ONLY place I go to.

So where do you go to get your info? DO TELL...
64% with McCain- pretty much what I expected.
*
So you just expected to accuse Holder of
with absolutely no back-talk allowed? I think I got it now, though I am still a bit confused as to how this means that I was the one who was not allowing you to express your opinion.
Please define the "change" you expected
Did you expect complete newcomers to Washington to take top cabinet posts at a time when the country is imploding? Is change about the people who lead or the rules they play by? Doesn't NEW POLICY count for anything? In terms of the economy, do you want experiments or experience? Remember the economy under Clinton years as opposed to W? It is a cabinet, not a regime. Please read the OP about where Obama is supposed to look for appointees and then share your ideas with us, if you don't mind.
You expected him to withdraw all troops on Day 1 ? nm

We had 4,000 in Grand Rapids, MI. A LOT more than we expected. nm

Wall street bonuses expected

http://www.foxbusiness.com/story/markets/industries/finance/wall-street-bonuses-expects-come-season-despite-bailout/

Paying bonuses this year is likely to result in a lot of backlash from the average American. After all, even with bonuses down dramatically, they are still higher than the average American, who is losing his or her home, makes. Not to mention the government bailout of financial firms, which seems to change daily, is coming from taxpayer dollars. Concerns abound—rightly or wrongly--that some of the $700 billion bailout could go to pay bonuses this year.

I'll double that 'amen', and I'll raise you one!

Yes, I bet over 3000 people never expected a plane to fly into their workplace either. sm
It must be nice to live in a world of denial.  I know, if we leave the big bad terrorists alone and quit making them mad, they will just go away and we can continue to ignore the world problems. Wow.
LOL!!! I saw the clip regarding their kids being expected to make their own beds
and Barbara's incredulous reaction.  That was all I could stomach.

Frist expected to be fined for lying on medical license renewal
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060830/ap_on_go_co/frist_medical_license
I've heard that natural gas heating costs are expected to TRIPLE this winter!

I have gas heat, and so does my daughter.

Your mother is fortunate to have you and your sisters to help her.  Makes me worry about all the elderly people barely scraping by on Social Security who have no family.  I guess they and the other poor people are just considered to have no value and are disposable.  I guess someday I'll be disposable, as well.

I totally agree with what Putin said.  Of ALL the places in the world to force change upon, the Middle East is probably the worst one!  Change does have to come from within.  Their culture is so different from ours, and I believe we should respect all cultures that are different from ours.  Sometimes I wonder who would win an election in Iraq if Saddam was suddenly back on the ballot. When Bush debated Gore in 2000, Bush claimed to be against nation building (though he said Cheney was in favor of it, which leads me to believe that Cheney really IS running the administration, as has often been alleged).

I always watch closely when Putin and Bush have press conferences.  Putin should be called Pukin because he's always got this look of disgust on his face, as if he's about to run out of patience with Bush and his idiocy.

I remember when we first began to brag that the Cold War is over.  I always thought that was a stupid thing to say, because it's never over till it's over.  History will be the judge of that.  I often wondered how a country full of people who were accustomed to having their vital needs met by their government as a RIGHT, rather than a privilege, could possibly survive in the dog-eat-dog, sometimes unscrupulous atmosphere of capitalism.  As far as I know, Putin isn't all that enamored with capitalism, and I'm just waiting for Russia to once again become communistic or maybe socialistic.  I guess time will tell.

So now we taxpayers are expected to pay for a motorsports racing track facility and a mine rescue tr
What the ... ?

A tax exemption for wooden arrows made for use by children?

And economic development for American Samoa?

An increase in the rum excise tax for Puerto Rico?

Do these senators think we CAN'T read? Or just hoping that we WON'T?
Oh. Well, they'll have to kill me before they'll censor

We'll see who'll be laughing tomorrow.
Bet it's me!
Yes - a bean-counter will decide that the cost-benefit ratio over the expected remaining life span..

If O "fails", then you'll probably like him more cuz he'll

So when the terrorists come, you'll just say STOP or I'll say STOP again? nm

DEFINITELY Change!
We have seen where experience gets us!!!! Look at it like this...
How many of you have ever worked a job before and your "boss" (with experience) knows a LOT less about the job than you do?! Bet you all never thought of it like that, huh?!
