I saw a lot of pictures and to me it looked just like the convention,

Republican, all old and white. I saw no black faces in the crowd, just white. I think veiled attempt (at first) as an anti-Obama rally. Just talking with husband tonight. I am old and have never seen anything like what is being spouted now days, very dangerous situation for Obama, I think. Just heard man asking radio station today about concentration camps in America. What? Why is everyone running scared? What in the h. is going on? I think people are hysterical and the insanity has gone too far.

Convention bounce. Big Whoop.
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/09/07/cnn-poll-of-polls-obamas-lead-shrinks-to-just-one-point/
CNN Poll of Polls: Obama's Lead Shrinks to Just One Percent –
44% to 43%. That 13% undecided vote is fair game and anybody's guess. Those guys were not terribly swayed by the debutante debut. CNN’s most recent poll consists of three surveys: CBS (September 1-3), Gallup (September 4-6), and Diageo/Hotline (September 2-4). This poll does not have a sampling error. It was taken in the middle of the pub RNC euphoria. 2-point bounce, not unexpected and not all that impressive. According to this poll, 50% mark has not been broken.

Since people change their minds daily, polls notoriously are not terribly reliable until they stabilize, which typically happens as the elections draws closer. More telling is the trend in the electoral map which is an indicator that will trump voter polls and opinion polls. Poll swap posts are a waste of time and will not effectively take focus off the issues at hand, especially with the serious blow to the economy this past weekend's FMFM news brings to light.

The picture was taken in California at an ANSWER convention. SM

You may remember the incident when the war first started and a soldier threw a grenade into a tent killing several other soldiers, including, I believe an officer.  This lovely show of support for the soldiers was on display at that convention.

Have you been watching the convention and does this help you in your voting decision

Have you been watching the Democrat convention and what do you think so far?  I watched it last night.  Lots of commentaries that were a little boring.  I will definitely NOT watch when both Hillary & Bill speak (they will have nothing interesting to hear), but I will watch everything else.  Loved the tribute to Kennedy.  His health condition is tragic.  He's done so much good while in the senate.  Also found Michelle to be a wonderful speaker and a very good hearted person.  She grew up and was raised similar to my beliefs and how I was raised.  She knows the struggles we Americans face every day.  I think Barack and Michelle are just a couple of very down to earth, well grounded individuals and their daughters are simply adorable.

On the republican side I am equally anxious to watch that convention.  I need to hear Cindy McCain talk before I can decide what kind of a person I think she is.  I want to hear about her and John McCain's story and what their family is like.

Does the convention help you in your choice of who you will vote for.

They said that Bill always leaves the convention the day after his speech -- nm

Neither President Bush or the VP are attending the convention....
Laura Bush will be representing him.  I think there will be some kind of satellite link thing from him.  I am sure this was expected by most of us.  It is in doubt whether John McCain will.  He and Sarah Palin are going to Mississippi today at the request of Gov. Haley Barbour to look at their MEMA plans and procedures.
Clinton did not ignore the Geneva Convention
Clinton didn't set up torture facilities, Clinton didn't have a secret assassination team - IF he did - don't you think the pubs would have outed him? They assassinated him over a blowjob - that's all they could come up with.
This was expected right after the convention, will change shortly I'll bet. nm
.
On teleprompter at Convention, they had nuclear spelled as newclear
so she would pronounce it correctly! Unfortunately, she did not have it there for Gibson interview, so she said nuculear. Pet peeve of mine.
For convention coverage minus spinning, bashing, biased

Tired of attack politics?  Don't need reporters telling you what you just saw or what to think about it?  Want a one-on-one convention experience?  Want to digest the content without the interference of disconcerting and distracting commentary?  Want to be in charge of deciding what is and what is not pertinent during the course of the conventions?  Do anchors and networks promoting their own hidden agendas get under your skin as they invent issues of no consequence, discount messages of great importance and try to stir up conflict?   Do you find most coverage obnoxious, rude and insulting to your intelligence?  Does their reporting look and sound like make believe?  Do you think our candidates, conventions, parties, issues, policies and political process deserve more dignity than a big-top circus/carnival presentation?

The solution is easy.  Switch that channel.  Try CSPAN.  Not to worry.  If you feel you are missing something in the way of staying abreast with the pundit's play-by-play smear scripts, you can always get caught up on all those issues the next time you log onto MT Stars political forum.
You are reading my mind. Plus, Sen. McCain's MOTHER attended the convention. nm

Yep - thumb your nose at the world and defy the Geneva Convention
that ought to protect our troops to a great degree, huh? No different than Saddam. Do what you want in the name of "protecting" the "homeland." BS
Can't get pictures to come in, sorry.

The pictures say it all.

The only arrogance I see is the arrogance oozing from Barrack Obama.......and oozing from Pelosi.

Pictures removed.
//
Oh you've seen pictures!!!

Well, there's the proof then!!!!

I think Lamont won a primary in a state where if I'm not mistaken tends to be a blue state.  I think there's still and election to be held.  He'll probably win, because as you stated above.  If a state tends to go Democrat or Republican they will tend to go that way again.  I believe the polarization has reached such a point that the liberal states will become even more left, and the right states will become more right.  There were a few pesky little states in the presidential election that went to republicans that usually go to democrats, but presidential elections are not always cut and dry like Senate and House elections tend to be.

Yes, I scrolled through the pictures...
quite articulate, those protestors, and sooo fond of the 4-letter words. Can't figure out how the *Stop Racism* got in the peace rally though. As to the picture of Jane Fonda hanging in effigy...I don't agree with either side hanging anyone in effigy although I can't count the number of times I have seen Bush hung or burned in effigy That being said...Fonda should have been tried for treason for North Viet Nam visit. She should be in jail.
Yes, if you look at the pictures of the rally.....
that sign WAS pretty prominent...along with others with various other epithets. What, pray tell, does that have to do with a *peace* rally? What does vandalizing govt property have to do with a *peace* rally? In my opinion, it seriously undermines the credibility of said *peace* rally.
Postings and pictures. (sm)

I have just removed and banned a poster over tasteless, and obviously altered, pictures of the President-elect.

We are not going to engage in that kind of posting here about any official.  If you have any questions or issues with this, you can discuss it with me via email.

Those are good pictures.
One job I would hate to have is the photographer who has to follow the president around and take those photos. Taking some of those pictures would seem almost intrusive sometimes - like the one with his kids sitting on his lap and Michelle kissing him. Kind of like the proverbial third wheel, you know?

Anyway, they are nice pictures.
yes, I agree, it is said that the pictures
that are not yet published are much worse than those published and everybody is aware of this. So, why publicize them? The every day Muslims would react in horror, but silence, pacified by the promises of O. I think that even the extremists will restrain themselves.
You are right, times and cicumstances have changed, people mellowed down, let's keep it that way and let people listen what O has to say.
I hope that Ahmedinejad will be the loser and Mosavi the winner. The elections were today.

Hmm, pictures I saw showed her children there with her.
There are people who travel for business and take their families with them, but they don't bring the family to their business meetings. DUH? What grade are you in? If you're going to get into a battle of wits, please at least come armed.
I have pictures of O being brought up in Kenya
where he went to school and going to school there costs a lot of money.  I am talking about K-8 grade, not in America and that is during his younger years.
Yes, but it was not going to be discussed and your pictures posted on the internet...
for the entire country to see and discuss. Her privacy, which she is entitled to as a 16-year-old, has been invaded in a very nasty way. Sorry, that is the way I feel about it. I think it was terribly wrong for dailykrap to post it and terribly wrong for someone to spread it even further here. But that is just me.
They are nice boys. Learn how to post pictures. nm

Next time, make the effort to remove the pictures. SM

They don't come out.  Also, the colors obscure the names of the people who made the quotes making them worthless.  How is one to argue about who said the quote if you can't read it.

Gary Muchler - hope the pictures post

Gary Muchler
And finally, they're a dwindling number and may soon be extinct, so let's take a quick look at the conservative counter-protestors who have been voicing their support for the war. You've already met memorial vandal Larry Northern, but now I'm proud to present ardent Bush supporter Gary Muchler. Here he is in Wilkes-Barre PA, trying to snatch a sign at a rally for Cindy Sheehan:

Just a thought, but instead of assaulting peaceful protestors perhaps Gary could sign up for the military. He loves the war, he's already got the camo pants (which the Army would be delighted to show him how to belt properly), and he'd get into shape right quick. C'mon Gary, sign up today!

Gary joins the elite ranks of the Pro-War Rogues' Gallery, which features previous honorees The Unknown Patriot:

...and of course, Morans Guy:

That reminded me of Putin's staged pictures with the tigers.
Sorry, I do not want to see Obama shirtless. He has no personal dignity, and thinks he's incoming royalty.
PIx didn't come through - pictures were all of guys waving large guns around...
Guns, guns, guns and threats, threats, threats.
to see McCain's pictures click on the red cross marks, disregard the 1st...nm

Thx & Sorry.... I should have looked it up! :P
c
Don't you think they would have looked into this?
- Don't believe everything ya' read...
I did, too. I wish I never would have looked at this
FEMA coffins, too. I'm going to stop watching these now
Okay - I looked for it -
my curiosity got the best of me - I cannot find anything that says Obama lied about anything. Can you point me in the right direction? I am still trying to work and also get my new information for the day... Thank you!
You know, I looked and looked
and could not find the mistake they accused me of making. I am sure that I made such a mistake, but it must have been days ago. Not really sure why I care, either.
So, I just went and looked at that...(sm)
and here's the deal.  O'Reilly made fun of the woman and called her a witch.  SNL made fun of Palin.  So, O'Reilly is making the case that if SNL can do it he can too.  HELLO!!!!  SNL is a COMEDY show.  Fox is SUPPOSED to be news.  That's the difference.
You know....I looked the other way

when Obama said that we aren't a Christian nation.  I don't really agree with that given the number of Christians in this country and the fact that all of our money has In God We Trust on it....but whatever.  I understood that he didn't want to tick off the secular part of our country because, as we know by the hate stated on this board, many non-believes truly hate believers.

However, when he said that we are a Muslim country.....I was like.....excuse me?  We aren't a Christian nation but we are a Muslim country?  Why couldn't he have just said that we are a country with many different religions and we have the freedom to practice whatever it is we choose or don't choose.  I would have respected that a lot more than....we are not a Christian nation......we are a Muslim country.

I understand trying to make ties with Muslims who aren't extremists and want us dead, but to say something like that.....total BS.  I just don't know what games our President is playing.  You would even think that some of the atheists on this board who hate Christians would have a problem with Obama calling us a Muslim country too....but since Obama said it and some of them love Obama.....I'm sure they will, once again, give the big O a free pass as always.

he looked awful
He looked like something was wrong in the news video I saw..I did not state it was alcohol.  I stated you never know cause something looked wrong..his face was hanging, his eyes were puffy, he was inattentive..definitely something was not right..Believe me, I do not wish this disease on anyone..I have seen what it can do..
Oh, you looked in the mirror, then?
Oh, don't stop now!  Keep talking, keep the accusations rolling!  Keep proving my point.
I have looked at "my" guy

and I've looked at McCain.  I wouldn't vote for McCain if you paid me.  Did you not HEAR him say he's the biggest free trader ever?

<groan" only 1 more day.

YOU have not looked at the facts.
nm
I looked at the article but I would like you to know
more abortions go on under a republican leadership than democratic. You probably will think this is not true, but just do the googling for yourself. Regardless of what is signed, regardless, women have for years and will continue to have abortions, whether he is president or someone else. There does not have to be any law at all for women to have these. I know because I was born back in the 40s and abortions illegal when I was a young teen but girls/women still had them. This is a radical based article you are looking at. I would take this article with a grain of salt.
I think those things will be looked at...
but the impetuous is on stimulating the economy RIGHT NOW. And, with the stimulus package as it stands..........it will not work. Tax cuts do not work. It's been proven over and over again.
If you looked really close to
Nancy Pelosi you would have seen the large brown on her nose.  That is what that was all about.  Look at me.....I'm Obama's right hand woman and I'm going to applaud and give a standing O for every little thing he says whether it is stupid or not.  Woo hoo!  Personally, I'm surprised the dems didn't do the wave or something.  I wonder what kind of kool-aid they served last night.  Hmm.
ROFL! I never looked at it from that...
point of view!
They looked more like devil worshipers to me.
x
I looked at it....and I understand the feelings...
however, you know where I stand. I stand on the sides of the soldiers who said *yes, it is our right to do that, that does not mean we have to exercise it* and *I myself would not have done that.* I do not blame any of those soldiers for appearing, other than I believe, whether intentions are good or not, that they worsened their situation by emboldening the enemy. I see that that was not a question that was asked. If those soldiers had to answer that question truthfully, a whole different debate might be out there.

Again, I support their right to do whatever they think is best; I do not support their timing. The problem is that others also have to live with the consequences of their actions. We all have a lot of rights to do a lot of things...we simply choose where and when to exercise those rights...using discretion...and considering how our actions will affect others. I had a right to carry a sign in the park across from the White House while Clinton was in office saying the President of the US is an admitted albeit unindicted felon, but I did not exercise that right. That is basically what I am talking about. It is how you choose to exercise the right...not that you HAVE the right. And I don't think hiding behind *I have the right* always excuses the fallout from the exercising. But you knew we would not agree on this.

I also have a problem with a statement like *the majority of the country is against the war in Iraq,* and *the majority of the military is against the war in Iraq.*
When you look at the percentages on the polls they are very close. Without giving the actual percentages, it gives the impression of a much larger gap. And they quoted the Military Times poll for the other statement. The Military Times does not now nor has it ever represented the majority of the American Military, and there is a definite bias there. But I will stop on that subject now.

As to biased on the part of CBS...I believe CBS probably actively hunted for this story, and I expect those gentlemen were paid well for their appearances, though we will never know that, and it really does not matter in the grand scheme of things.

The last time I looked he was in Houston at...
the emergency management center. When did he go to New Orleans? Not being smart, hadn't heard that.

He said that is why he did not go last time...exactly what you just said. And now he goes, ...and you criticize him.

Serious question...why is that? Don't want to fight, just want to know.
I never said as an independent I looked objectively....
at both sides. I am an "independent" meaning independent of the major parties. You have to register as something to vote in this country and I chose Independent. As far as objective...none of us are objective. All of us have taken a stand on one side or the other. What I do is present the other side of things posted here on the Dem side. Instead of refuting the posts, generally I just get attacked. That is generally what happens when a point can't be refuted, so all that is left is to attack. It works itself out here nearly every day.

As to the "you can't have it both ways," that was originated by a Dem poster. I just turned it back to them and I will turn it back to you...you can't have it both ways.
Obama did well. He actually looked at McCain.
McCain wouild not look at Obama at all.  He just looked at the camera and the commentator with his fake smile.
Anyone actually looked at the money Obama wants
