**I'm completely convinced he is not a Christian.**

That he was **not a Christian** was the fable that was spread all over this board and on every conservative site before he was elected. Instead he was accused of being a muslim and a terrorist and the **fables** just got worse and worse. They were all lies. So you're **completely convinced he is not a Christian and then you go on to provide proof that he is. His Christianity is not the **fable**. Bringing back all the speculation about his Christianity like you did in your 1st post is the **fable**.

convincing most schools that they need to teach basic good values to students. They would argue, and I tend to agree with them, that they have their hands full teaching children the educational skills needed to be successful in school and college. More and more is being required of our children at a younger and younger age. Most of the teaching revolves around learning the skills necessary to pass the standardized tests required in most states. Here in Texas, TAKS instruction takes up the majority of the school day. My son has a 2-hour math class and 2 separate language arts classes, both subjects of which are TAKS-required and required to pass the TAKS inorder to matriculate to the next grade.

I believe, and I believe most teaches would agree with me, that morals begin at home and are best taught by example and not by a teach-and-test method. I live in what is considered to be an "economically depressed" area and the attitudes of a good number of our students is abysmal at best, reflecting the attitudes of their own unemployed, welfare-recipient parent(s). Until parents' attitudes and values change, neither will the children's, and they are the ones who will suffer.
Having a hard time keeping up.
The numbers of Iraqi deaths that is. Today, 93 Shi'ite pilgrims were killed and 147 injured in a suicide bombing in Hilla. Two bombings in Baghdad killing 18 to 20 and I don't know how many injured, 9 American soldiers killed on this one day. This is all just so wrong, all of it, and the numbers just keep on climbing.
I have a hard time seeing a good ... sm

side to the Iraq war.  What are the successes?  I am only asking because I want what you think are the successes.  Not bashing your opinion, just curious.  Because, I see no success in the thousands and thousands of deaths of our military and the civilians.

I know I will get bashed about this but...  It just seems like we have enough going on in our own country that nobody is doing anything about.  We have wars here every day, many of us don't see it first hand because of where we live but go into any big city and you will realize it the wars kids have to avoid or fight just to stay alive.  I just wish Bush and Congress would pour more money into our fights and problems like they did in Iraq.  Maybe I am being selfish when I saw that I think our people should come first.

I have a hard time with bailing

them out, but when I think of my mother who will lose my late dad's pension and her medical benefits.....I can't help but push for a bailout so my father's hard work of 35+ years wasn't for nothing.

I personally feel that this is a combination of things.  These companies made bigger vehicles and trucks because that is what people wanted to buy....that is until gas prices went up and that changed.  I believe management there hasn't been the greatest and I truly believe that unions and the money spent on them has really caused this downfall.

However, I must state that it seems to me that some of the same people who professed to vote for Obama and had no problem with robbing from hard-working Americans to redistribute that wealth to others.....so why now are some of you so he!! bent on letting the automakers go belly up?  Wouldn't it technically be redistributing wealth to help keep millions of Americans in their jobs?  I just find it ironic that some people say we should give our money to less fortunate and yet scream and yell when their money could go to saving millions of Americans jobs.

You really do have a hard time facing reality
I posted an article that someone (with more knowledge than you have regarding the history of past and present presidents) wrote. I did not write that myself, so don't tell me "nice try". Your post is a "nice try" but your clouded vision of the truth is so far from the truth which makes it void.

The fact which most dems hate to face is that while Bush may be one of the worst presidents in our history he is not "the" worst.

As for the election between Bush/Gore, I understand as a Gore lover you hate to face (and evidently have not faced it yet) the facts.

Bush beat Gore by 543 votes in FL (BTW - I didn't vote for Bush so I didn't help him there). The reason for that...you have Nader to blame not Bush. So with Bush ahead by 543 votes you just expected him to step down? I think Obama said it very well when he was running against Hillary and he was ahead and Hillary was saying that he should accept a position as VP. He said "Why would the person who is ahead in votes talk about becoming VP to the person who is in 2nd place". This is a presidential race. Sorry but Gore did not receive more votes than Bush did (if your talking about Florida alone - there was a whole country who voted for Bush). You've really got to come to grips with reality.

Florida vote -

Republican - 2,912,790
Democrat - 2,912,253

Overall election outcome
271 Electoral votes for Bush
266 Electoral votes for Gore

Elections are based upon electoral votes. I also find it funny that each election if democrats are ahead by electorals they all say that its the electoral votes that matter, but when they find they are losing in electoral votes and head in popular vote they push and push and push to have the popular vote be the ones that count.

If AL Gore had conceded the way he should have the country would have not felt this rift he created. So if you have anyone to thank for Al Gore losing, which he did fair and square then I'd go talk to Nader. Even people who advised Bill Clinton and are democrats are coming out saying Nader was the losing factor for Gore.

So for now I will stick with the article posted by someone who has done research, who does not like Bush but has pointed out the fact that is not "the" worst president in history.

All the other Bush haters can think all they want. Their hate towards a person taints any inkling of what they think is the truth. Hence, your reply has no truth to it.
You evidently have a hard time staying on task.
if your mother, father, daughter, son, grandmother, grandfather, husband or best friend cast a vote in the early election and passed away on November 4th, how would it make you feel if their votes were thrown out?
Yup, Biden has a hard time speaking without putting a foot in his mouth.
He's like that crazy family member everyone has that they always try to keep under wraps.
try to pay attention okay?

You said, Truman and Kennedy and even Johnson were real Democrats, not like those of today.  And I said the same holds true for republicans.  I was answering your post to show you it goes both ways.  Got it now?

just your attention

You need to pay attention
Earlier this year, Obama HAS voted to raise taxes on the middle class. The democrats squawk on about raising taxes on the rich but the democrats believe the middle class ARE the rich. WHere have you been? Under a rock?

Obama and Clinton voted to raise taxes on the MIDDLE CLASS....a 3 TRILLION DOLLAR TAX BLUEPRINT...where the democrats were throwing the tax thing out there to see if they could get enough votes on their little UNDER THE TABLE agenda. Under this any individual making over 31K and couples making more than 63K would be TAXED TAXED TAXED!!

Oh how you know only what you want to know!!
You really don't pay attention to what O is doing
##
Well...if you would pay attention

they have blacked out the information that they got in those memos for national security reasons.  You know....I would be curious to see what you would say if you found out that your life was actually one of the ones saved by "torturing" terrorists.

As far as I'm concerned, you behead Americans that you capture, than the people we capture of yours can be subjected to anything we want and to he!! with you.....but that is just me.

I'm trying to pay attention but

The Jordan Times has his whole speech written up and I don't see those words there.

I did see some very interesting things, though, when he talked about Islam, religion, Muslins, etc.

If you had an attention span, you'd know.

right, Sam. The nutcases who want attention.
nm
Too bad you didn't pay attention.
The bill failed because 90% of Americans were not behind it. The switchboards in the House and Senate were lit up like Christmas trees with people phoning in to encourage their elected officials to kill the bill. The Democrates did not even support the bill, and they had more than enough votes to accomplish that if they wanted.

I'm not surprised you think Bill Maher is funny. He replaced his brain with his anus ages ago and nobody seemed to notice. But, hey, he sure looked swell on that episode of Murder She Wrote. Yeah, he's the go-to guy for unbiased political commentary.
Pay close attention to what's NOT being said
This is a big story because imagine if that had happened to another presidential or vice-presidential candidate, that members of their follow church members were murdered in seperate killings.

Not even a liberal journalist can find ONE time Obama spoke about this while he was in that church. He has NEVER demanded more be done to find the killers. It's more like out of sight, out of mind.

Remember Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian leader.....he says there are NO gays in his country. Right!!

Since Obama is from a strong Muslim background, just makes me wonder what his true feelings are on this matter.
No, I just pay attention to character, not

ATTENTION POSTERS

There are way too many personal attacks, foul language and abusive posts going on here.

Read the sticky above.  Also read that it is NOT saying to write whatever you want on here.

We're getting loaded with report after report after report to delete messages from this board.

Back off and take it easy on people.  Absolutely NO MORE personal attacks.  You don't have to like a candidate, but that doesn't make the poster who does any less of person nor do they deserve to be attacked or belittled or called names.

The same is true for those that are reporting absolutely every little thing on here.  Read the sticky.  Beware of flaming in these posts.  If you are too sensitive to be on a political board, then please don't read the posts.

I think that if you truly paid attention

to the complaints on this board, you would realize that what we are complaining about is not the fact that our money is going to government programs to help people who need it.  Most of us are upset because these government programs are being abused and misused by dishonest people who would much rather not work and be lazy just to receive government assistance.  I have no problem helping people who need it.  I think Clinton did a good thing by reforming welfare and I think it is a shame that Obama is undoing that.  Welfare is supposed to be a hand up.....not a hand out.

Not wanting to help people in need is not the issue here and I wish that you guys could understand that.  We aren't being heartless here.  We are just sick and tired of people mooching off of the government when they could work and make a living for themselves.

If the dishonest people who are abusing the system could be taken out of the welfare equation, just think of the extra money we would have to really help those in need.  Think about it.

Then you need to pay attention to the fact that

It's even more interesting when you pay attention...(sm)

In my post below this I did address dems (Pelosi)....and I quote:

"If we lose a couple dems in the process, well, then so be it.  If they were in on it, then they need to go anyway."

However, now that you mention it, as far as calling Pelosi a liar or Pelosi saying that the CIA lied, well, that would be hard for any of us to do as I'm pretty sure none of us were in that meeting to verify what was said......except (of course) trigger happy.  I'm assuming she was there as she seems to know exactly who is and who isn't lying.

You don't pay very close attention then do you?
O'Reilly has defended Obama on many occasions, trying to find some middle ground as to why he has done or not done some things.

He isn't far right by any means but on the other hand, there's nothing wrong with wanting to preserve our constitution as written.

If he's so far right conservative, it's funny then how FOX news has run circles around all the other news outlets in the ratings. Even adding all of the others' ratings together, FOX news still trumps them big time. That means all the liberal idjits out there are losing ground big time. Those MSNBC/NBC/CNN hate mongerers out there are losing ground big time.

Could it be folks are finally realizing Obama isn't living up to all those promises? It's finally starting to dawn on them this isn't the man for the job. The ratings are proof positive people in this country are ready to hear the truth, not the far left immoral agenda....
have you been paying attention
to the differences between what he said and what he does on other issues. things like (Paraphrased) "I don't want to be in the business of running car companies." ".....won't see any new taxes of any kind." "taxing health care benefits would be wrong." I think when you say when thing and do another that is a lie and it is manipulative.
You really must not have been paying attention
Other than a very brief period about 8-1/2 years ago, the divide in the country has been growing larger for about the last 10 years...surely you did not think we had national unity back in the Clinton years, did you? How about the 8 years of Bush the Younger? Frankly, other than a few of the more vociferous 'radical right' pundits, the country is not doing too bad. The moderates and independents have not chimed in yet as they realize that it's going to take longer than 150 days to clean up the mess left when the keys were handed to the POTUS. So far, the only people truly divided are the extremes, and, frankly, I tend to be happier when I'm catered to in the middle since we're so often forgotten.
exactly, people should better pay more attention
what happens outside the US, as this deterimes what will happen inside the US.
Pay close attention.....
I have read this and it made my skin crawl...

pay close attention to what she is saying...

Like imperialists of Old World Europe, the ACP sees their constituents not as free thinking individuals who best know how to go about achieving and creating their own means for success. Instead, the ACP sees his constituents as a flock of ignorant sheep that need to be led -- oftentimes to their own slaughter.

How many tried to point out BEFORE the election that this man is a racist individual with absoutely no concern for the American people. He is an African Muslim through and through and ANYONE who truly took the time to find out anything about Obama would have seen him for what he truly is, a person who is very loyal to Africa, thinks the African colonial views are best and has started enforcing HIS beliefs one after another on this country.

"Lambs to the slaughter"!! Only those with blinders on think he is going to be the answer to their prayers....

ACORN obsessed with the color his skin as did most ALL black people and whites that voted for him...

It sickened me then and it sickens me even more now. I have said it all along. That man is NOT an American, STILL has produced no VALID birth certificate(not a surprise), has no loyalty to this country and never will, and is a Muslim through and through, just like his father. He spells it all out in his book and truly like "lambs to the slaughter" they still voted that non-American into office.

Now we ALL pay the price!!

Too many most that put O into office will NEVER read this article and even if they could read and did read it, they wouldn't comprehend a thing this indivdiual is trying to say...
She is right. He has no interest in what the American people want, only what he sees as right and only dictators do what he is doing to this country!

'lambs to the slaughter'

Short attention span?

Dont pay attention to those posts
They are obviously from people slithering over here from the con board as no democrat/liberal is going to bad mouth this way, not after what we have been through for 7 long years.  This is just observer and the others posting under different handles.  I have seen this before on this board.  Just wish they would go back and let us discuss the exciting wonderful times to come with a democrat in the WH..YIPPEE!!
again...as usual...paid no attention...
The taking one more shot post appeared LONG before your cease fire....you just had not seen it yet. But it would not have mattered. I didn't read this latest diatribe...too tired and really don't give a darn. And I will give you a clue dear, one of those 4-letter words...I did not say the GOP then does not resemble the GOP now....in fact I agree whole-heartedly. The GOP has turned into Democrat lite. Which is why I don't belong to the grand old party anymore. Only register as Repub in primary years because if I didn't, I couldn't vote, and I want to have a say, no matter how small. You should really ask questions before you jump off the deep end...but you don't care, because you are always right, aren't you? Speaking from that high horse of moral authority. You must have the word "bigot" in your shortcuts, you sure invoke it enough. LOL. Really too bad that just you typing it here doesn't make it true....or maybe it is, the gospel according to Globetrotter....LOL geezzz.
He's paying attention to ducking the RNC
Just like last time.
That's why polls deserve little to no attention

nice try. I don't pay attention to the polls....nm

I paid attention and I ain't even republican
Now that your hope for racist remarks have no doubt been proven unfounded, you gotta start grasping at anything you can find, because those "racial" remarks were really all the democrats had going for them. Those mean 'ole republicans.

Are you really so racist that you don't think a black man may actually like McCain instead of Obama? Are you that deluded in your thoughts?

I have several black neighbors and they have made it quite clear they will never vote for Obama. They work their butts off and don't believe anyone has the right to their money!
"Stop hating and pay attention"

I could tell you to look in the mirror but what would be the point.  Obama wants to raise taxes on companies.  Companies that already pay the highest taxes in the world.  That is why we have so many companies going to other countries now.  Making their taxes higher will make more jobs leave the USA.  Do you not see that?  Raising taxes during an economic crisis will lead to a recession (if we aren't already in one) and into a depression.  Let us look to the past when President Hoover raised taxes during a recession....I do believe something happened called The Great Depression.  When FDR was in office he put forth several government programs called the new deal.....studies actually have proved that because of all of these government programs that he actually extended the duration of The Great Depression.

I'm not a hater.  I don't wish Obama any ill will.  This isn't a race thing.  This is a common sense, reality check thing.  I just do not think that his promise of change will do anything but bring a change for the worse.  Obama brings nothing but false hope.

"Pay attention". That is the problem. And to say

They pay no attention to the REAL man behind the curtain...
not to worry, he may be elected but he certainly will be found out for the phony he truly is. The Kool Aid is bound to wear off some time.
I wonder when pubs are going to turn their attention
constantly pronouncing judgment on the big, bag boogey man.  Have you noticed that republicans have a leadership and principle/platform crisis?
I guess you didn't pay attention....(sm)

when it came to direct quotes and video footage of Bush.  In other words, Bush has video out there that directly contradicts what he is saying now in his exit interviews.  For example, he is saying now that if he had known that the intelligence about WMDs was incorrect he would not have gone into Iraq.  Previously he had said that it didn't matter that there were no WMDs, he would have gone ahead and invaded Iraq anyway---which he did.  Exactly how much more proof do you need?

Apparently you have paid NO attention.
This talk about NWO has been out there since Bush 41, almost two decades.  Where have you been?  But if it makes you feel better to blame Obama, have at it.
You obviously haven't been paying attention...(sm)

Dems oppose UNJUST war, like going into Iraq or Israel's constant terror against Palestine.  There's a huge difference.  We are in the middle of 2 wars -- that Bush started.  Did you really think that we would be able to clean his mess up with just a wave of a hand?

Pakistan has a government that has no control of its country, which means that militants are currently in charge of the attacks on the supply line that goes into Afganistan.  Those are the targets.  My guess is that the real Pakistan gov probably gave the coordinates to the US for these and many previous hits.  However, they can't really claim that because their people would be all over them because of the anti-American sentiment in Pakistan.  This is why you haven't heard a lot of arguement from the UN about these hits.  This was the same thing that was going on when Bush was in office.

Obama has consistently said that he wants diplomacy first, but he has also said that he will not hesitate to use force when necessary.  In this particular instance, the US is currently working out a deal with Russia for a different route for supplies to Afganistan, but in the meantime it is necessary to protect the existing route through Pakistan.  Did you really think that Obama was just going to leave our people in Afganistan with no supply line?  And if he had, what would you have said about that?

Get your head out of O's butt and pay attention!!
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29042139/
It looks as though you weren't really paying attention...
He said the same thing over and over. Withdraw troops from Iraq and put more boots on the ground in Afghanistan..........how could you have missed THAT? Selective hearing? Selective posting, too, I guess.
Then you haven't been paying attention.
Because this is exactly the attitude O has been taking when visiting foreign countries.  America has to be rebuilt because the way we are now does not agree with the European model.  And good thing he is around now to guide us in through that.  Most of us are way too enterprising and independent for his taste and that's something he is looking to change
You should really start paying attention....(sm)

to what is said by the president as opposed to the Fixed Noise version.  What Obama actually said:

".....we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values."

He is absolutely correct.  The US is not a theocracy and is therefore not bound by or based on any relgion.

The Fixed Noise version:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEF2-a6QBx8

It's a smokescreen to defer attention off....
Barry from Chciago. They can get outraged about Sanford's affair (was their equal outrage about Clinton...I seem to remember NO, all I heard was it was about sex and nobody's business). Funny how the worm turns. And these same people who want to fry him are willing expect lie upon lie upon lie upon lie (not about sex, about the good of the country, but who cares, right??) from their President, the one they elected and turned loose on the rest of us. Holey moley, I have heard of tunnel vision, but I have never seen so many affected by it at once!
Then you haven't been paying attention to Able Danger. sm
It's a huge story, being ignored by the MSM right now, but investigation is underway.
Excuse us Mr. Bush, can FEMA have your attention?

Woes at Embattled FEMA Spur Employee Exits

All Things Considered, January 13, 2006 · FEMA is having trouble holding on to its best people. Several FEMA staffers have told NPR that people are leaving because the agency is in trouble and no one appears to be addressing the problems. These departures are raising concerns about FEMA's ability to respond to the next disaster.

Leo Bosner, a union chief and manager of the emergency operations desk at FEMA, says morale was bad Katrina, but it's only gotten worse. He notes there have been several retirement parties at the agency in recent weeks.

They're getting out not because they're tired and want to work in the garden but because they're just sickened by the agency's failure -- very public failure -- and just sickened to see nobody doing anything to lift a finger to fix the problems, Bosner says of the departing employees.

According to half a dozen other current or former FEMA managers who did not want their name used for fear of retribution, more than 50 people have left FEMA in the past four months. One official inside FEMA who has seen the agency's attrition data says 56 people have left in the past five weeks alone.

But FEMA says only 20 people have left. FEMA spokesman Nicole Andrews says the information Bosner and other employees shared with NPR is either incomplete or imprecise. She says there's an influx of applications to work for the agency, adding, To suggest that there is any sort of a trend related to Katrina and attrition would be absolutely false.

One recent retiree is Bill Carwile, a 10-year veteran of FEMA and former Army colonel who left in November. Carwile led FEMA's hurricane response in Mississippi.

Katrina struck New Orleans and the Gulf Coast on Aug. 29. Three days into Katrina recovery operations in Hancock County, Miss., Carwile couldn't get any food, water or even body bags. System appears broken, he wrote in an e-mail to FEMA headquarters. Carwile says it was the worst moment of his FEMA career.

The exhaustion frustration he felt in Mississippi wasn't the only thing pushing him to retire. Carwile says he was upset watching FEMA's training programs get cut year after year, leaving his teams unprepared.

I am so glad you brought this post to my attention!

It was beautiful and summed all the things that are in my heart that worry me and that I was too clunk-headed to write so eloquently.

I hope some little bit of it penetrated the conservative psyches on the other board to maybe bring us all a little closer together in our caring and concern for what's happening in our world.

I paid attention during history lessons. sm
El Duce and Fat Moose were Mussolini's nicknames. I would love to discuss the facts, not debate (argue) political viewpoints because it distracts everyone away from reality and the facts. That is precisely what they want us all do.
