its confidence. its about time we have some positivity and hope for once,at least in my life time. I was too young to know about Kennedy but do watch a lot of documents on him. I cannot wait for Obama to walk through those White House doors!

we have no debt either, own a home, both work, put at least $600 in savings every month, contribute to a 401k also. Even when my DH was paying $1000 a month in child support (over now thank goodness) we still never went without, took vacations every year and continued to live comfortably. We live within a budget also. If you are both working you have got to be making at least 70K a year.

both boards have been slow and peaceful for the most part. Debate is not fighting. It's only when someone gets offended and starts preaching down to the other debaters does it get personal.
I just disagree with you on one point and that's abortion. I believe all children born and unborn are equal. I don't expect you to see it my way, but I will defend and state my position not to incite an insult fest but to foster debate :)

I have also heard that Palin has taken a beating because she "acts like a woman," such as winking, smiling and licking her lips. I'm sure, though, that these were the same women who were outraged that the media would make such a big deal about Hillary showing a little clevage a couple of years back (which, BTW, I agree - this was a nonstory, just like Palin and her clothes.)
Nicely worded but you are missing an important point
I don't know the history of your posts, but when you suggest: "Democrats/liberals, start your threads, and I will not encroach upon them. I would ask for the same respect from you as I post independently. There will be no need for you to open any of them or to spend half a page piling on. I will respect your threads. Kindly respect others."
You are forgetting at least two things:
1. If we are supposed to NOT be divided as you post toward the end, WHY would you actively ask people with different opinions NOT to respond (encroach) on your threads? Do you want ONLY people who agree with you to respond? Think about that before you answer.
2. Until/unless the moderators CENSOR this board and not allow anyone to post to anything, it's not up to you to tell me or anyone else what they can post, or where. You say in your post: So let's allow both sides to present views, support their candidates, exercise our right to free speech, have diverging opinions.... but telling people not to encroach on your space and vice versa is the antithesis of "allowing both sides to present view... have divergent opinons.
Finally, don't be too sensivive: If someone responds to my post with hate, an insult, etc., I can simply CHOOSE to ignore the post. Choose your battles.
As for me, I have total respect for Senator McCain's *military* experience, but I don't want someone who has voted 90% with the most corrupt 'president' in our history - to be in charge of my America for the next 4+ years. He's not a Maverick, he's a hypocrite and bush minion.

outright, thank you, own both our cars, but when you are caring for three kids, taking care of their needs, paying about $300.00 a week on food, I have several serious illnesses with lots of meds, we have high costs here in the North East, AND we are putting money into 401K and retirement, sometimes we DO have to wait a day or two to buy something, it is called A BUDGET, it is called self-restraint in spending, and you, my friend, need some serious counseling in compassion, communication, ....do you even have friends with that kind of attitude??? what is your problem exactly?
