What really gets to me is how the politicians, news media and the public jump on the most stupid, trivial and riduclous things. Obama did not say Palin was a pig. He said you can put lipstick on a pig and it's still a pig. If he really wanted to be insulting I suggest he might have said, "you can't make a silk purse out of a pig's ear." McCain might say about Obama, "If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck." Guess then the Dems would jump on that.
Will we EVER get to the important issues? I doubt it. Not until we follow in the footsteps of the Roman Empire.

Lipstick Lesbians
One of my closest friends (20 years) is one. She's a doctor, and prefers to keep her sex life/orientation private, yet looks as feminine as the rest of straight ladies.
My personal trainer came out 10 years ago and fits the same template. The only exception is that she came out as a couple with another professional (a dentist).
Both of these very dear friends of mine are more happy than I've ever seen either of them, and their relationships have had more longevity than some marriages. It's not my deal, but I couldn't even imagine having not met these 2 wonderful friends.
My neighbor is a geologist and is very butch after having been married for 8 years. She's another friend of mine, so that obviously makes 3.
Does that help for a definition? I know it's only a small part of it, but we're all humans at the end of the day.

Pit bull in lipstick
Maybe pit bulls with lipstick on are a bit more friendly. Lots of pit bull owners (those whose pits don't wear lipstick) end up in court. Just last week some idjit took her pit bull mommy with pups to the public park. Pit bull attacked an 80 some odd year old man who just happened to be walking past minding his own business. Haven't heard if the poor old fellow survived, last I heard he was in critical condition.
The county put the pit bull down, don't know what happened to the pups. If I were Palin I wouldn't want to associate myself with pit bulls with or without lipstick. That's all I gotta say about that......for now anyway.

Hate to break this to you, but a convention bounce in unreliable polls that change on a daily basis does not a catipult make. No party who plans to base a campaign on personality over policy can spin their way to victory in light of the dire situation we now face with the economy.
Dems get this much. Our job right now is to focus on the critical issues that we all share and to contrast the candidates' solutions to the problems that MUST be addressed. The question in the voting booth will be who can deliver the kind of change that is best for the nation and how far away can we get from W's mass descruction. 90% does not have a whole lot of political capital on that score.
