yes, that is my barometer. If it does not affect me personally and it does not hurt anyone, I don't have a problem with it. By manipulating - look at this petty issue and don't focus on the issues that really matter. Every election you see the same manure tossed on ballots. It isn't going to stop people from being gay. They can just go to another state that permits gay marriage and have their ceremony. Whoopee.
