Nevermind the soul for a moment....let's talk about LIFE.
The law says killing someone is murder. It does not say anything about killing someone with a soul is murder. The baby is alive, and it is being killed. That's murder.
AR, you can't remember what you were talking about from moment to moment.
Sorry for the late reply, I've been gone a week. Now AR, I have no problems admitting when I'm wrong about something. However, you STILL have not pointed out anything I said that was factually wrong. First you attack me for claiming R. Bennett was a partisan Republican, which I never did. Seeing that YOU were wrong, you then shifted gears to try and attack me to say that the Bennetts don't LIKE to be lumped together and that was what I really intended to do!! Just admit it!! LOL - sure I was speculating that they may share the same upbringing and philosophies, which is a very logical SPECULATION to make. I never said I didn't do that. That was the point of the whole post.

Arm yourself better next time and you might not come off looking like such a ninny.
I suppose you'd rather we keep punishing ourselves?

Punishing Americans with higher and higher healthcare costs because we give it free to indigent illegals, hospitals and ERs are forced to take them, then write them off and raise their prices to us, because we don't qualify under our own social programs!  We should deprive ourselves and give to them because we care more about their "poor little baby" than our own?  Charity should begin at home, and until it does, I don't give a hoot in Hades about some illegal's maternity problems!  My conscience is clear about whatever happens to those babies because I didn't get knocked up with them!  Indigent irresponsible women who pop out babies like Pez are the real punishers of babies - I'm all about FREE birth control, how about you?  I wanna know why YOU care about her babies at the expense of American babies and senior citizens who are forced to choose between food and medication each month - how's your conscience about that?

It's not about denouncing the teen.
After all the media hoop-lah, burning interet wires and chat room outrage over "attacks" on Palin, inevitably these issues will surface, as they are trying to do now and will deserve some attention. Pubs preach family values so voter inquiry/comment/opinion legitimate political discours. Abstinence, sex education, birth control and AB will also be front and center and is also legitimate public discourse. Platforms and policies of two candidates will be compared. people will be making judgments. Palin will be scruitinized along since she dropped her hat in the ring. Unfortunately, she dropped Brolin's in there two. There's no turning back. For better or worse, this is how the process works.
I think "()" is just some teen-aged lurker.

You're advocating teen pregnancy?

Mississippi, A Hotbed of Abstinence Education, Now Boasts Highest Teen Pregnancy Rate
The Centers for Disease Control released a new report today that found that Mississippi “now has the nation’s highest teen pregnancy rate, displacing Texas and New Mexico for that lamentable title.” The report found that in 2006, the Mississippi teen pregnancy rate was over 60 percent higher than the national average and increased 13 percent since the year before.
While the new report does not explain why the state’s teen pregnancy rate is increasing, one reason may be the poor quality of its sex ed programs. As the Sexuality Information and Education Center explains, Mississippi focuses heavily on abstinence education and teachers are prohibited from demonstrating how to use contraceptives:
Mississippi schools are not required to teach sexuality education or sexually transmitted disease (STD)/HIV education. If schools choose to teach either or both forms of education, they must stress abstinence-until-marriage, including “the likely negative psychological and physical effects of not abstaining.” […]
If the school board authorizes the teaching of contraception, state law dictates that the failure rates and risks of each contraceptive method must be included and “in no case shall the instruction or program include any demonstration of how condoms or other contraceptives are applied.
A reporter for ABC News’s Jackson, MS affiliate explained, “The Mississippi Department of Human Services says abstinence is the only birth control that is 100 percent effective. And that’s the only message teens need to hear.” Unfortunately, numerous studies show that abstinence-only education is not effective. As one study found:
Teenagers who pledge to remain virgins until marriage are just as likely to have premarital sex as those who do not promise abstinence and are significantly less likely to use condoms and other forms of birth control when they do, according to a study released today.
Further, a review by the House Oversight Committee found that “80% of the abstinence-only curricula…contain false, misleading, or distorted information about reproductive health.”
Pregnant teens in Mississippi face few options. Access to facilities that provide abortions in that state is extremely limited. Indeed, because of an unusually effective anti-choice campaign in the legislature, only a single abortion clinic remains open in the state.

UpdateThe report also found that the teen pregnancy rate is rising fastest in Alaska, where Gov. Sarah Palin (R) is a strong proponent of abstinence-only sex ed.

Teen charged with threats

Middle-school boy e-mailed theats to officials

FLORENCE - A 13-year-old Ockerman Middle School student has been charged with threatening George W. Bush, just days before the president is set to throw the first pitch for Reds Opening Day in Cincinnati.

The teen - described by a police investigator as a student of presidential politics - remained in the custody of his mother Tuesday afternoon at their Florence home.

He is charged with one felony count of terroristic threatening.

He is extremely well versed in the history of President Bush, Florence police Capt. Linny Cloyd said. In talking with him, you can tell this is a hot-button topic with him.

Cloyd launched an investigation after Florence Mayor Diane Whalen received an anonymous threatening e-mail. Cloyd and Whalen refused to give a more detailed account of the threats or release the e-mails.

As investigators worked to track down the sender, a second e-mail arrived in Whalen's city e-mail account. That e-mail threatened Bush and was also sent to the White House, Vice President Cheney and the Pentagon.

If the teen was just looking for attention, he certainly got it, said Whalen, who doesn't know the teen or his parents. I think the key thing here is you can't ignore any threat in these times.

Cloyd went to the teen's home Monday evening with agents from the FBI and Secret Service.

He is a student of the present administration, Cloyd said. He described the teen as in tune with current political affairs.

We asked him what brought him to this point, Cloyd said. He didn't have an answer he was willing to share with us.

Cloyd said the teen's parents consented to a search of the home, and investigators did not find anything, such as weapons, that led them to believe the teen was intending to carry out the threats.

Investigators seized a computer from the home. Cloyd said additional charges might hinge on what's recovered from the hard drive.

Mom was shocked, Cloyd said. That would lead me to believe, if the parents are politically active, it isn't in the same manner at all. He said the teen acted alone, and there is no evidence anyone else is involved

Investigators said the teen will appear in Boone Family Court within two weeks.

I don't believe it for a moment. sm
The fact is, he WAS the face of terror.  Knowing how cohesive the Arab world is, I don't for a moment believe there were no terrorists in Iraq.
Well, first, I don't believe that; but, let's for a moment....
assume he did call his wife that. And again assuming IF he were so silly as to call Sarah Palin that in public, he would find himself sitting on his rear in that same public, because she would probably clock him. As long as we are talking about what if's, rumors and innuendo.
Think for a moment....
If you pay 20-25% in taxes with 60K, just how much do you think someone making 250K a year pays in taxes?

Believe me, someone making that amount of money does pay their FAIR SHARE. They are in a much higher tax bracket, MUCH HIGHER, and therefore, pays MUCH MORE in taxes. I'm always amazed at how those without a clue seem to criticize those that financially make more. Since when is that a crime? If you could, I'm certain you would too and would not feel you should be penalized for a higher income.

The higher incomes are what keep our lousy government afloat in the first place.

Taxes are relative, the more you make, the more you pay.
At this very moment

I have left the room because I cannot stand listening to Arnold Schwartznegger talk about Obama's skinny legs and scrawny arms.  Schwartznegger is a proponent of the right to choose in case you aren't aware of that.  So what is he doing campaigning with John McCain.  Another thing that is just disgusting is Hank Williams Jr. grinning and nodding in the background.

I can see, I can hear.  I respect your opinion to believe what you believe.  I DO NOT believe in abortion but your McCain must not have too much problem with it if he has Schwartznegger introducing him do ya think?

Historical moment. We have come together

Wow, what a mirror moment. (nm)

I realize that. But at that particular moment, they

Take it easy....

OK, sam. Another moment in history has come to pass.
you go me ROFLMAO. LOL.
Correct if I am wrong, but at the moment this is
you can't test ANYBODY until they hold the position, can you? Having said that, there are a few things to consider here. What do you think is an appropriate response to Russia's renewed aggression of late? Does it come as any surprise that, with American military forces stretched so thin, Russia would not try to take advantage? Georgia was not aimed at Obama, now was it?

This is where viable alliances come in handy. Europe is in the neighborhood and not across the ocean from Russia. Poland, Ukraine, Georgia and other countries interested in orienting themselves toward and allying themselves with the West will naturally be viewed by Russia as open targets, vulnerable to their flexed muscles.

W has done very little in the way of preserving the value of these time-tested alliances and has held the US in the isolation that is endemic to world superpower status. A diplomat he is not and the guy seems to have a real adversion to the basic concept of diplomacy.

In stark contrast we find Obama. As far as I am concerned, he cannot get to the helm fast enough, so if anything, I take comfort in the idea that we are 76 days and counting.
I haven't but would not hesitate in a moment
The area we live in is getting overrun with thugs, drug addicts, meth heads, etc. Robberies are on the rise and a lot of them happening in the middle of the night while people sleep. Kids were caught burning down houses because "I was bored and didn't have anything else to do".

I would have no problem doing whatever it takes to protect myself and home. Anyone who enters my home illegally is a skum bag and piece of dirt and I don't consider them human so have no problem destroying the animals they are.
Ah, YESS! Thank-you! (I was having a 'senior moment',

I am not in your life....I am in the life of the baby...
and will continue to speak for the baby. Again, my right.
Then why don't we make a pact from this moment forward?

We will stay off your board if you stay off ours. Do you agree or not?

I did notice that. These peoople are getting more and more pathetic by the moment..sm
and have been pushing me farther and fatther to the left.

That was such a retarded response to an important issue. I would like to know what you guys think about it though. Keep the electoral college or not.
If you would step out of paranoid palace for a moment..
point to me ONE place where I advocated killing all Muslims. All I said was, and the only question I asked was, why don't the peace-loving Muslims denounce the murders within their own ranks who are hijacking their peaceful religion to justify killing of innocents and hatred of anything nonMuslim? And you rant and you rant, but you never answer that. And again..it was the Muslim extremists who called what they were doing jihad...I did not call it that, I simply repeated what they said. For someone who is supposedly educated, you certainly run from questions when they are posed to you. And by the way...education does not give you the right to be rude, and rude you are lady...and if you are the poster child for an education...I believe you get the idea.
Wow. A historical moment. I almost never agree with your posts....

Where? Who? Our country has no real leader at the moment.
Not Bush.

Not Obama.

Nobody.

Nada.

Zilch.

Oh, wait, maybe Pelosi...she's got a lock on the purse strings...yours and mine, although you don't know or care......ugh....

Like I said, no real leader anywhere in sight.
If possible, think for one moment what it would mean for Israeli troops to fight in Iraq. TI
If I need to say anymore, my suspicions will be confirmed.
Why don't you lay off me for a moment and pray for the people on our gulf coast...
they are far more important than this bickering.
On terrorist ties, since topic is popular for the moment
McCain link to private group in Iran-Contra case.

again, this is stupid

whatever, I concede... like it's major issue.  I mean for cryin' out loud.  Where exactly did MT say she was going back for the last month or so she hasn't posted here.  I haven't noticed whether or not she posted a timetable WHEN she would be going back.  This whole stupid idiotic argument was because someone assumed she hadn't been posting because she went back to Iraq.  When she said that she hadn't you all called her a liar.  THERE'S the spin...

They think WE are stupid. I believe he knows exactly what he is doing.
American people, namely his followers, will not question him, especially since he's obviously an upstanding God-fearing man. They'll take his word for it.

Are you really that stupid? TI
Can you put nothing in perspective?  Without a doubt, in recent weeks, this is the most ignorant of remarks I have heard.
How stupid?
Well, obviously there are many stupid Americans because they believe this man is the answer to their prayers. They actually believe he will get them AFFORDABLE healthcare, he says the same healthcare HE has. How in the heck does he think he is going to get insurance companies to give anyone in this country the same insurance he has and they be able to afford it.

But, you see, there are those who actually think he can. And now that he is back peddling on his economic plan, which all O lovers, will conveniently ignore, he will screw you over even more.
That was stupid.
.
Well you are too stupid if you believe what you
You are regurgitating information you have heard but you don't even know what you just said, except it sounds good to you. Lets blame the rich....yea, that's it. THe rich who employ you and pay most of the taxes in this country, yea, it must be their fault. Your idea of rich is very clouded anyway, so unless you stop listening to whiners and wise up to how your own community functions in the first place, you will be the addition to this problem.

Get an economics book and read it. I dare say you know nothing about econ101 anyway, so that would explain that remark.
I am not stupid
I know that you cant believe everything that you read.  That goes both ways.  I am basing my opinion on his behavior, or lack thereof.  If you are a Christian, you have to answer to God first.  If he believed that, he would not be allowing this kind of behavior.  I am not just basing this off of the internet.  I am also basing it on how people where I live are talking about him.  How they feel about him.  It is just strange.  Also, I have prayed about this quite a bit.  That is my final source.
actually stupid is not seeing
what happened after the question was asked regardless of who asked it. stupid is focusing on the questioner and not the answer and stupid is not being frightened by what happened to the man after asking the question, which was his right
It's so stupid though
So what, does he ask people who they are voting for before they go in, and then what. I don't understand what the fool is there for except to act like a fool
Why should they do that??? This would be really stupid nm
nm
How stupid do you think I am?
You're going to spout off some ancient edict that lasted for how long again?  Until it was revoked?  You insult my intelligence along with many black people who would be outraged by your audacity.
You mean he's not stupid enough to take the
Care to comment on that nuclear Israel thingy?
I'm stupid....I get it.

Yes...staying informed makes me stupid....thanks for clearing that up.  No wonder we have Obama in the White House with so many uninformed morons out there crying out "In Obama We Trust."  Please excuse me if I don't feel like just sitting back and not knowing what are government is doing or planning on doing.  Please excuse me while I go vomit!

but I do appreciate that so many think I am either stupid...
or a liar.
Perhaps they are stupid then...
you don't buy things you can't afford; those with modest intelligence know that. They are still losers in my book, wanting a handout when they bit off more than they could chew. While the banks did make the loans, homeowners need to take responsibility for their mistakes. What a country of whiners we have; as usual, the responsible people will take care of those who don't want to do it for themselves. Again, shelter is a right, owning a home a privilege.
People not stupid...
...it's likely the American people did not elect Bush for either of his terms. Problem is, it doesn't matter anymore so long as Republicans continue to applaud the use of corporate-owned voting machines that leave no verifiable paper trail. What can we do? Bush supporters own the machines. Bush supporters tabulated the votes. We don't have any say anymore about who sits in the White House - when it looked like we were using our voice of reason in 2000 the SCOTUS yanked the vote right out of our hands and appointed the president, overriding the fair vote count and giving us all the finger. Again, Bush supporters. Now they have the machines to re-define our votes a little more smoothly, but it's all the same criminal intention.

The American people are actually pretty smart - that's why those who hate them have to resort to such meticulous and intricate planning to steal their voice.

Of course, there are always some who are easily led, but they are far from the majority they like to claim they are. They can't even conceive of the difference between a paper ballot and a electronic vote - they have no idea which is better or why it's better, much less any notion of how to defend a Republic or their Constitution, or the integrity to act in a way that's best for their country rather than what's feely-good and rah-rah for their own selfish selves. Guess we have to put up with them, but what are we going to do about the vote thieves they enable?
Are you honestly that stupid

that you can't tell the difference between someone hoping someone burns in hell AFTER they die (having had nothing to do with their death) and openly and publicly encouraging America to ASSASSINATE the leader of a country?

Are you really that much of a moron, and as Gadfly said, why in the world do you WANT to openly reveal that to others?  Some of you people need some SERIOUS professional help.

This whole thread is stupid!

MT did not say she was going back to Iraq...she was answering a poll!!!!  Where's the lie?

Oh, please, Drudge is as stupid

Fact Check: Clinton/Carter Executive Orders Did Not Authorize Warrantless Searches of Americans

The top of the Drudge Report claims “CLINTON EXECUTIVE ORDER: SECRET SEARCH ON AMERICANS WITHOUT COURT ORDER…” It’s not true. Here’s the breakdown –

What Drudge says:

Clinton, February 9, 1995: “The Attorney General is authorized to approve physical searches, without a court order”

What Clinton actually signed:

Section 1. Pursuant to section 302(a)(1) [50 U.S.C. 1822(a)] of the [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance] Act, the Attorney General is authorized to approve physical searches, without a court order, to acquire foreign intelligence information for periods of up to one year, if the Attorney General makes the certifications required by that section.

That section requires the Attorney General to certify is the search will not involve “the premises, information, material, or property of a United States person.” That means U.S. citizens or anyone inside of the United States.

The entire controversy about Bush’s program is that, for the first time ever, allows warrantless surveillance of U.S. citizens and other people inside of the United States. Clinton’s 1995 executive order did not authorize that.

Drudge pulls the same trick with Carter.

What Drudge says:

Jimmy Carter Signed Executive Order on May 23, 1979: “Attorney General is authorized to approve electronic surveillance to acquire foreign intelligence information without a court order.”

What Carter’s executive order actually says:

1-101. Pursuant to Section 102(a)(1) of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (50 U.S.C. 1802(a)), the Attorney General is authorized to approve electronic surveillance to acquire foreign intelligence information without a court order, but only if the Attorney General makes the certifications required by that Section.

What the Attorney General has to certify under that section is that the surveillance will not contain “the contents of any communication to which a United States person is a party.” So again, no U.S. persons are involved.

Another stupid move.
I see Bush has offered aid to the earthquake victims in Iran. He did this the morning after the quake. He really did not know there would be an earthquake in Iran, nor did anyone else, yet less than 24 hours after the quake he is offering aid to a country whose mouthpiece would like to blow us all to smithereens.  I find it curious that it took Bush 3 or 4 days to realct to Katrina  and we all knew that storm was coming for days and days and days. Although I sympathize with any victims of disasters, would it not benefit Bush and his party to aid our own country first. New Orleans is still a mess. They are still finding dead bodies, and he sends aid to, of all places, Iran. Someone explain this to me. I really don't get this.
thanks for calling me stupid ...
who knows? If you are half as smart as you think apparently think you are, yes indeedy -- maybe you could do it ... if you had become governor of a State!

I am tired of the slick, coached peoplel who simply regurgitate what the punduits tell them too. At least, for now, she is a real person ....

I can see why you like Obama -you have the same superiority attitude with a condescending nature ... LOL

that said, I really do not like him BUT I may vote for him - I truly haven't made up my mind yet.

LOL ....
