defensive
Well, if I come across as defensive, so be it. It is because I am sick of people trying to regulate what I feel should be a woman's choice. No, I have never had an abortion. I have 2 children that were planned for and wanted. But I have friends who did and I am glad they were able to have that choice.

I am sure you don't care what i believe, but I am sure you want to change the laws so that there is no choice. To me, that is pushing your beliefs on me.
Wow, you guys are sure defensive!
I am just used to boards where the current events are being discussed.  Yes, I was trying to stir the pot!   Just not like you think.  Wrong approach?  LOL...maybe.  So what is your opinion about the stem cell bill coming up?
my defensive slur?
I am not interested in an attack on my views from anyone, least of all someone who does not know me, but dare to call me a right wing christian because I had the audacity to disagree with what you typed. I am not interested in arguing with you, simply pointing out that even all of those flavors of Republicans that you point out would probably not call Arnold a "staunch republican."
There was nothing racist sounding
Need to stop using the racist card here. So that's how it's going to be...

Statement: I don't like his policies.
Reply: That sounds racist.

Statement: I don't like the spending bill.
Reply: That sounds racist.

Statement: His picks for his cabinet people are not the best choices for America.
Reply: That sounds racist.

Statement: I voted for him because we need an African American in the office and he's going to take care of me (another African American).
Reply: Right on.
Nope, not defensive. A realist. The only thing...
that will convince you is to experience it. If he wins...hang onto your hat...and your pocketbook. With both hands. :)
We get angry and defensive because we are tired of hearing..sm
the same-old same-old and the suspicions and negative remarks over and over again.
No, she is sounding very rational and not nasty at all, but once again
the mighty mouth gt shoots another poster down!  Wow, that's gotta feel good, huh?  Just vomit those words out there without thought.  I read all the posts by AR.  Other than Suzie and at one time Lurker they are the most rational posts on either board I have ever seen.  Hey gt, little bitty clue, it all really is not about YOU.  And as far as getting a life, you practically LIVE on this board. Just look down it and go a couple pages back.  POT KETTLE BLACK.
At the risk of sounding cold
I agree that it is a terrible thing that there has been no social security increase for 2 years. However, I must point out that I have actually seen a decrease in my income in the last 2 years. While I don't believe that they should be punished in their golden years, point of fact is that most of them do have their houses paid off. Their families are grown and gone. They are eligible for Medicare.

I believe it is endemic of the economy as a whole...obviously, if there's nobody working, there's nobody paying into social security. However, things are just as bleak out here for those of who who constitute the younger working poor, with mortgage/rent payments, medical insurance (if we can even get it), families to feed and dress, etc.
Words can come off sounding like an attack, because these messages lack..sm
facial expressions, demeanor, so it leaves the reader to interpret the mood.

I don't know if you were saying me or Sir Percy was a recovering Democrat, but either way I'm a registered Democrat and have never voted for a republican president because of where I stand on social and civil issues.

Speaking of frustrating democrats, and I never thought I would be going here because I have a lot of respect for her. I was even bidding for her to be the first woman president, but Hillary needs to take a stand and stand firm on it, and let us know what it is. Her centrist stance is frustrating because I think she is the one democratic model out there that could speak and be heard and respected. Yet she has been quiet, and too her lack of opposition to the war has taken my respect down for her a few notches.

A kleenex for you, Sunday...nasty sounding cold there....

What a stupid, treasonous-sounding post! Shame on you.

People like you disgust me and make me ashamed to be an American.
