The doctor says that the patient has vocal cord nodules secondary to vocal "apuse".  I am sure this should be "abuse" but the doctor is very easy to understand, and I know I hear a "P" sound.  Is there such a thing?

Refilled her ProAir and her Flovent. Will increase strength of Flovent to 110, as she may have some s/l barking spasm.

I know about barking cough, but I've never heard it put this way, as spasm. Has anyone heard of this. I thought he may be saying marked spasm. I've listened to it so many times that I can hear both barking and marked, but when I think I hear marked, it sounds more like mark-ed. Definitely hear 2 syls.

Thanks

Have finally found second-hand descriptions of AV Moschcowitz's 1912 publication on rectal prolapse, attributing to him a description of female rectal prolapse and its association with abnormally high/deep cul-de-sac. Still can't find definitive reference, but this would seem to be a smoking gun.
re f-up or followup
Subject: re f-up or followup

Use followup for noun and adjective forms (hyphenated is acceptable alternative)ie, the patient did not return for followup.

For verb, only follow up is correct, ie, patient will follow up with her primary care doctor.

Not sure about the esq stuff.
The above is per 2nd edition of BOS.
