its spellchecker to take out all the errors that were in it and have extended this overhaul to books published since mid April 2004....SO, if your Stedman book was published before that date, you will find misspellings.

And as others here like to say that BOS is not the authority, neither is Stedman. If Vera were still alive, I would still swear by her Current Medical Terminology but since Claudia took it over, I question its continued purity.

On C-flex up to 5, respiratory disturbance on right side was 0, but sleep efficiency was poor, and the patient had difficulty tolerating CPAP, so much so that she refused it.

That's a lot of commas, isn't it?  I followed the comma rules, but still... there's a lot of them in this one sentence.  It's a verbatim account, so I feel like I shouldn't break this run-on into two sentences, but it's awfully tempting.

Any suggestions?

exactly what she is referring to before making the decision to transcribe bilateral.  She may mean bimalleolar (ankle) edema.  If that were the case, bilateral ankle edema is very different than bimalleolar edema, which would mean 1 foot versus 2.  If you can leave it blank and get a response back, that is the best idea.
