SoftScript? What a joke . .

I had a bad experience with SoftScript and I posted about it here, how the recruiter didn't seem to know exactly what acute care was, etc.   And yes, I called her ditzy, and I still stand by my original assessment.  A couple days later I get a blazing email from the Corporate Director of HR telling me how I was just mad because I didn't pass their testing and verbal interview.  That my written and verbal grammar skills were so bad during the testing and phone interviewing process, that I didn't even meet their lowest requirements.  Now, the kicker in all this?  I HAVE NEVER SPOKE TO ANYONE AT SOFTSCRIPT, NOR DID I TEST!  I simply sent them a resume and that was all.  He said I didn't pass the test because I couldn't tell the recruiter what a cesarean section or a gastric bypass was??  Huh?  He keeps referring to this discussion the recruiter and I had, THAT NEVER HAPPENED!

He went on to tell me I was disappointed that I didn't pass the test and that was no reason to bash anyone of the recruiter's caliber.  What a great human being she was, all her years of experience, etc.  She is an expert MT and listed all of her credentials.  He stated that I just didn't measure up to their high standards.  The email is extremely unprofessional and it sounds like someone has told him lies to cover their a$$.  He then goes on to bash MT Stars, calling it the last bastion of unscrupulous and anonymous postings of free speech provided for medical transcriptionists.

Of note, I have almost 20 years experience in all types of acute care inpatient and diagnostic dictation, including a large percentage of ESL's.  I have taken and passed the CMT exam, and have recently chosen to not renew my credentials for personal reasons.  I would put my experience up against that of the recruiter at any time and feel confident I'm just as much of an expert as she is.

So yes, again I will say, the recruiter is ditzy and now I'm wondering about the whole company.  I had already crossed them off my short list of employers after the first email, but the HR Director's email clinched it.  I have never seen anything as unprofessional as the email i received.  It sounds like somebody there is really paranoid about their future with the company.  Hope you have better luck than I did. LOL, I know, I'll probably get another one of his emails.  LOL.

SoftScript is great - not a joke

Any info on SoftScript or Medware?
Does anyone know anything about either one of them?
She's giving work TO Medware, or is Medware giving work to her company? Medware has no work. nm

I currently work for SoftScript as an IC. (sm)

I don't have a set schedule, and would have it no other way.  However, I'm assigned to a hospital with, like, a gazillion doctors!  Do any of you know of a company that I wouldn't have to set a schedule, and could have a specific account?  I don't care what specialty.  I just want to narrow things down.  As it is, my accounts are pretty much ESL, which doesn't bother me, but I'd rather only have 5 ESL's than 50.

   TIA!

I work for SoftScript as well.. but
they are my secondary company when my first company runs out of work.  I only do about 200 to 300 lines a day for SoftScript because if I did anymore I wouldn't have any hair left.  I get about 10 to 20 e-mails from them a day and 90% of it has nothing to do with me or my accounts; it's just mainly useless stuff and the rest of them are mean e-mails from management.  I only work for them as back-up and they are paying me decent as an IC.  They have so many ESLs and their platform sucks, but work is work I guess.
Anyone here work for Softscript?

If so, are you happy with pay, feedback, work load, etc.?

How many lines do you type daily or weekly?

How much experience do you have?

What type of accounts (specialties, difficult dictators, etc.) do you have?

I know I asked a lot, but just trying to see what they look for before applying.  I know a lot depends on what they expect and the individual.  Thanks so much for your help.:)

SoftScript out of work
Has anyone else working for SoftScript gotten the Out of Jobs message?
What is SoftScript like to work for. nm

No work @ SoftScript?
There has been a shortage of work (at least for me) at SS.  Now, I see that they are hiring!?!?!?!  Is this the norm there?  Anyone else work at SS and have the same problem?
Work at SoftScript
I work at SoftScript as well and do have instances where there is a shortage of work. But, I have found that by contacting OOW they will set you up with another account to keep you going until your account(s) gain more work. SoftScript also sends out emails when new accounts are coming on asking employees if they want to help out, not all the time, but quite often. If they don't get enough help then they hire new employees. They cannot always get current employees to take on new accounts as when their accounts get overloaded with work TAT goes out of wack. They need to hire new employees so that TAT's are met in every account.
just one work on softscript
DON'T!
SoftScript and no work
Getting pretty tired of the situation, being out of work, 50% less volume and no notification about what is happening except it is always quiet this time of year, things will pick up soon.  Yet, they advertise like crazy !!!  Gonna have to find another means to make money, I reckon !!!!!!
I work for SoftScript w/ another crappy system

Softscript is a good company to work for. sm
I have been with them for over a year.  I have had 1 late check (by 1 day).  As long as you do your work and work the schedule you give them, they will leave you alone.
Softscript is a great company to work for! sm

I have been there a good while.  Pay is on time.  I have plenty of work except through Christmas/New Years.  It was low then.  Some people have negative to say about the company, others have positive.  You are better off judging for yourself really.  Our managers have not changed since last June, so don't know about the 'new management' as they have all been in place since then and since then I have noted nothing but positives within the company.  Hope this helps and no, I do not want any flames just because I happen to like Softscript.

Anyone Work for Medware?
Still fishing for some input on working for this comany, anyone got any info?
Does anybody work for Medware?
How productive are you?  Is the platform user friendly?  I'm thinking of applying there.
Work for Medware
You are right, it is an awesome platform.  Easy to get good line count.
I work for Medware
They are a very good company, I started out part-time and then went to full-time.  Good benefits, direct deposit and steady work.  Don't know too much about Spheris but I am quite happy with Medware.  Good luck to you.
Anyone know how much Medware work goes to

How is Medware to work for??
I was just offered a job with them.  Anyone out there give me any info on them??
Just work for Medware

I currently work for Medware....sm
and absolutely LOVE it! They do match a percentage on 401k. I also think it depends on the Team Leader regarding holidays. Everything is negotiable. I always have work, and the Team Leaders I have are great! You also have to kind of take what you hear on this board (or most) at times with a grain of salt because as you said, there are lovers and haters of MOST companies, but what one person may hate, another may love. This is only my second MT job, and I believe I will be retiring with this one. I have been one of the lucky ones to have only worked for 2 companies. The first one I worked as an IC, and I would still be there, but needed an employee position with bennies and other perks such as sick leave, vacation, etc. when my hubby got laid off from his job. I have to say that I could not have chosen a better company to work for, and I too was skeptical at first. You just need to ask questions and make sure ANY job is the right one for you. I wish you luck!
I work for Medware....sm
and LOVE it. I have been with them for almost a year now. They pay on time. They have a GREAT staff, incentives, platform, good benefits, etc. HTH!
Medware has no work for anybody
.
No one called you a joke, just called the post a joke because
we all know better, but you're entitled to your opinion.  You're the one insulting saying those of us who don't like SS probably couldn't cut it and that is the reason for our complaints.   You would be hard pressed to find anyone who ever worked for SS to agree with you about how wonderful they are.   They aren't getting new accounts, yet they always have an ad running - umm, let me think why that is.
Which platform do you work on at Medware?

nm

you don't happen to work for medware do you??...
I work on an account that sounds just like the one you are on and it is horrible. After 4 months still can't get a decent line count on this account and I have several years of experience.
I work for Medware and could not be happier

Medware has been a great company to work for, I have been with them for over two years.  Very happy at Medware.

medware and cymed...anyone work for both and if so...sm
I was wondering which company you prefered.  They are about the same benefit wise and such, but was wondering how they differ as far as management, work load, platform, etc.  Also, am just taking general comments on both companies - good or bad.  I have a offer from both and not sure which company to go to.  I have looked in the archives, but just not sure as there is good and bad for both.  Thanks.
I too work for Medware and LOVE it...
They were a very good change for me also. The benefits are good. My team leaders are GREAT. I could NOT have picked a better place to work. They DEFINITELY are a GREAT company to work for, and I too have been VERY happy there!
I work for Medware...I love it!

Medware radiology MTs...what do you make and do you have enough work?
TIA
I work for MedWare part-time.
I am happy MedWare. Theyis flexible though you do have to do a stick to a schedule. However, I have never had a problem with getting time off when I wanted. They have plenty of work for us to do. Pay is on time. The Merit platform is user friendly though I liked Dictaphone better. So far, I have had a nice group of people to work with.

I believe the pay is low but I have applied to 3 other nationals and they have not offered anything better. I hope that helps.
I work for MedWare part-time.

I am impressed.  I get quick responses from my supervisor.  The Merit runs real smooth on my computer.  We have lots of work. This week it is a little slow as compared to last week but enough to keep us busy during our shift.  Usually by weekends though we are swamped.   I do think the pay is a little low but for me it is worth it not to have to drive in-house.

I have never worked for Diskriter.  The benifit package looks wonderful.

I work for MedWare part-time.

I have no complaints.  I have worked since December.  Last week the account I was on ran out of work.  They say that doesn't happen very often.  The week before that we had too much work to do.  Anyway, the pay is a little low but probably average in this business anymore.  I use the Merit platform.  It is easy to learn but I don't like the word processor part.  It is like a glorified note pad.   Schedules are flexible.  I have not yet had any problem getting off when I needed it.

Did youhave steady work with Medware? Do they
nm
Does Medware require you to work holidays?
nm
Medware considers FT to be 32 hours, but they have no work right now. nm

How is it that in less than 1 year Medware goes from the best company to work for to the worst?

Let's hope AAMT does a better job of picking the next company of the year!

Medware, good platform, plenty of work
I have worked for them almost 3 years now, they are a better than average company and pay on time every other Friday.  Check them out, you will be happy you did.  Kim.
Medware does not pay correct? How so, you can email me too.. I dont want to work where they screw up
your check.. Thanks for any help...
Any current information on Medware such as work load, pay, benefits, etc.
Thanks for anything you have.. the good, bad, and ugly.
Medware not only sends work offshore, but has offices in Bangalore to train MTs there.nm
xxx
Medware's IT dept. obviously doesn't work weekends. No lines count for 2 days. nm
not surprised
What a joke...
There software is the worst around! It is not MT friendly, very slow and locks up almost every day. Supervisor is clueless.
It was a joke...
It was an unpleasant experience.  The recruiter is nice but does what she can to get people to come on board.  If you ever have a problem, she will be right there to solve it.  She will never set you up.  She will always be there, so call.  Believe this? I gotta bridge for ya to buy.
