Maybe we should all band together and just shoot those VR reports straight through - JUST FOR ONE SHIFT - take our money and see what happens. Guess we could find out if there is any QA in place and if the MTSO gets any feedback from the hospital. It might be a lesson for the MTSO to learn. I spend lots and lots of time - follow word by word - in my VR jobs but the pay just is not there doing VR that way. I do see bad reports in my search of what other MTs turn in and it is really scary. BUT - bet they make more than I do at the end of the day. When will the hospitals and the MTSOs figure this out???? and pay us more for quality than quantity.

I really didn't like not being able to see my reports...
broken down line by line, too, but that is a totally different issue than having correct line counting. If a company wants to rip you off, they will rip you off giving a report-by-report accounting of it or a daily accounting of it.
I worked for a company where you had a daily accounting of individual reports on your computer but it didn't necessarily match what the company paid you for. If your paycheck was light (and it usually was), and you found the missing report or reports after searching through the 30 or so pages for the payperiod, then you had to fax the whole thing to the office after e-mailing where the discrepency was. After a while, that is just too much work.
Like someone said below, I know how many lines I type in an hour. If am posting over 300 lines doing Ctrl-I, the counter must be counting something I am not typing because I am not that fast. It isn't like they are taking a percentage off what I am typing, they are taking a percentage off what is eventually printed on the page. Some companies just take make the headers and footers unviewable by the MT so they're not counted in Word's utility. It's really all the same.

I was told they recently moved somebody from another dept within the company to fill that position. She is definitely entry level, completely different field. Just goes to show.....
It didn't help. Had 3 difficult reports by
same dictator. First job legitimately pooled to me, second I forgot to check, third report 1 other MTs cancelled the job so I ended up with it. It totally burns me up.

i tested. first email from them stated i passed their radiology tests, and they would contact me during the next recruitment. two weeks later, i received an email with attachments to download. these included pay scale of 7 cpl WITHOUT spaces, manual or templated headings, and i had 24 hours to accept or decline their offer. I sent them an email obviously declining.
I didn't get mine yet. does it come sm
UPS or regular mail. They asked me when I filled out my employment papers 3 weeks ago what size I wanted because they were sending it. I wonder when it will come?

This is the part that is so unsettling for me too. And the fact that the human resource/payroll person doesn't even know what is going on and the fact they will not let her know what is going on is what is unsettling for me. If they would just come right out and let us know what the heck is going on, then I would be a little more at ease. But, no one is saying ANYTHING. However, supposedly the money is there.......

That's a hospital-based platform and anyone who works on that is more inclined to have issues. Whatever your platform problems, they are not company-wide, that's for sure.

Typing ER reports and radiologogy reports
are completely different with regards to pay. For typing regular reports, that is a very fine line rate. For typing radiology reports, it would be horrid.
I bet you 1 million $$ you won't find one on mine. Mine is
2 years old and it does not have a 9-pin serial port, nor does it have a game port. I have used both ports on other computers so I know what both ports look like. I also have a company provided computer and it does have the ports on it.

That is not lying and saying that they don't offshore work, as was stated by another poster above, but saying that if the client wants the work to stay in the US, they will keep it here. Sheesh.

Can you make a good living typing only ER reports with a national company? Do any companies hire you just for ER reports? Thanks.

the packet states no one will get a pay cut but they gave out pay cuts before people trained on DEP as DEP has only a certain pay level, so they were told. I guess this means no pay cuts with this packet. Pretty smarmy, huh??

I sent a resume to them and one of the questions was how much ESL do I do. I told them over 50% and that was why I was leaving my current job. They emailed me back and said based on my ESL answer, I was not a suitable candidate for their company.

My really great fear is that I won't be able to get my line count. I HAVE to get my line count. I will be leaving a job with awesome benefits, retirement, blah blah blah, but I want to come back home with my children.

This has never happened to me, not once. I have taken many tests and aced them and my email inbox was filled with email offers. I have 20 years experience and told them up front what I made/wanted. I think some MTs just can't face the fact that they failed the test.

Oh, please stop with all the nonsense!! Why do you feel compelled to give out these TIPS? So, nonqualified people can give a false, yet professional-appearing resume and then you can test them and waste your time? Are you crazy? At least you can quickly eliminate those - what does it take 1.5 seconds to look and throw out? Is this your biggest job complaint? Why don't you quit complaining about your job - do you really expect to get all perfect resumes!! Hello - anyone home in there?? I thought evaluating a resume was part of a recruiters job - respond to good ones and don't to the bad ones...you act like you want these folks working at Super Wal-Mart to present a nice resume -Now, why would you desire that?
These jobs are posted on the INTERNET - expect some crazy people !!
P.S. I've had to deal w/a lot of recruiters who need some serious help, but I don't feel compelled to give out any suggestions - they would not listen anyway. Its simple when the company/recruiter is ever rude, unprofessional, unorganized, giving false info - I move on. You get a joke of a resume - move on!!
