Any opinions on the company would be appreciated.  Found some in the archives but all mostly from 2004 and 1 recent post but not much info.  Thanks.

There's plenty of work at Webmedx - my group of accounts is running OT. SM
Again, why don't you ask your manager for MORE WORK?
I work for a small national. I have steady work, usually

extra if I want it.  I make 10 cpl as an employee, get vacation, 401K matching, PTO, wonderful QA, lots of ESL dictators but mostly decent ones, direct deposit, no IM, no nasty e-mails, no phone calls asking me to work extra day after day.   Saying that MTs are surprised at how much money they make because they have steady work even though the line rate is low sounds like a line a used car salesman would use.  A low line rate is a low line and an insult, especially since without the MTs you wouldn't be able to pay your bills.

Just because everyone else sees to be going to India is like the saying you parents would say if everyone else jumped off the bridge ....  Many companies sell out, but you don't HAVE to sell out.  You choose to get more bang from your buck but I've seen the work that comes back from overseas and I would never put my name to it.

You might can fool some of the people some of the time, but it won't fly with me.

I inquired and it's just a gal running a small business looking for IC work. nm
..
Medware or Webmedx? Which is better in terms of accounts and benefits?
I am trying to decide which company to apply with. I also need flexiblility. I can work full-time hours but not the same shift every day and I know some companies want a set schedule every day. I work a lot of weekends.
I work for a small national and use FTP, also work for
a small local and use a website.  If you check the job boards you'll see lots of companies use FTP.
Have been running out of work all week - have 3 accounts
nm
No, we are no "all running OT". On most accounts, there is not enought work to go around sm
as usual.  Same old, same old.  They overhire and the loyal employees cannot even get in their required 35 hours.
If you are doing 2400 lines in an 8 hour day, working 5 accounts +, running out of work on all 5,

then pray tell us how you are doing it.  I certainly would like to share this with MQ because I also have done this many years, know my work, and there is no way to do 2400 lines because most days all the accounts are out of work.

I currently do this kind of work in addition to my medical accounts...sm
The rate seems pretty low, at least compared to what I make, and I can tell you from my experience with this type of work, it is very tedious. Expanders aren't nearly as helpful as in medical transcription, so it's pretty much straight typing. On the other hand it is a nice change of pace from the medical aspect, but for what they want to pay, probably best suited to a newbie.
Small national

14.5 cpl National, 16.0 cpl small MTSO
Happy, both accounts are California accounts which is a higher pay!!!!
Small national companies
I'm trying to find a new company and it is way more involved than I thought.  Earlier I asked about larger companies.  What are some of the smaller companies that people work for, say not more than 200 MTs??  Thanks for your replies!!
Should I go from national to small company?

Hello. I am sure many have asked this same thing before, just looking for a rooting section to feel better about this.  I currently work for a national.  With many changes, not feeling like a person, production sinking, morale gone, on and on and on... I decided to seek PT position with a smaller company.  So, I found a second company.  They are small, but growing. The director is a former MT.  They currently have about 100 MTs. The pay is very standard at 8 cents.  Their platform is slowing me down a bit, but they say they are working on upgradiing it.  Their communication and personal attention to me has been excellent.  I have 1 dictator. I see what work is coming in and have 20 hours to get it done.

Is the small company too good to be true?  Being burnt from national, I am finding it hard to grasp that this really could be this good.  sure, the pay isn't as great..it is an IC position, rather than employee...but I am not stuck with God knows what work, changing all the time...and I am heard and appreciated.

Do I just bite the bullet and transition the small company into full-time and do the national PT?  Any comments, suggestions, etc would be appreciated!

No interest in running a business... of ANY kind... been there, done that.
If you're a business owner, you already know why.
They offer similar benefits and they are not as small as you think! sm
I think they are close to 500 employees now.

They also do not lose accounts. I worked for a hospital that went with them and they just renewed for the 2nd time, been with them 6 years now.

I think that MQ is losing the accounts to companies like Keystrokes because of the offshore MQ does!
specify, clinic/acute, IC/employee, national/own accounts,
nm
Three small accounts that I do by myself..sm
I do not do any type of billing for the accounts, just do the work like regular work that I download from the company...so I think that would be a good reason for a raise.  But, I don't want to say anything to make them think twice otherwise because these accounts that I have are really good.  Does that make sense?
What would American MTs want or expect from new MT organization or union? What kind of benefits

would you all want?  What kind of resources or services would you expect?  How about certification exams - necessary or not?  What about MT education, industry standards, etc?  Would you change some of the BOS rules?

I'm curious.  A fellow MT and I used to say the AAMT was lacking and recently with all the outsourcing and MTs losing jobs and the AAMT turning a blind eye, I've been thinking again that we need a organization that better defends and represents the American MT.

I feel like Norma Rae!

What kind of accounts do they have?nm
xx
What is the pay scale like with Milner and what kind of accounts do they have?
Just wondering.
Webmedx Benefits
Does anyone know what kind of benefits and cost that Webmedx offers?
Does anyone know how much the benefits are at WebmedX?
I need the cost of employee + 1 child. Also, what insurance carrier are they with and what are the deductibles/copays like?
Webmedx benefits
Does anyone know if webmedx have a good benefits package (401k) and steady work?  How about vacation time?  Even if there are pros and cons, I would appreciate the info.
Webmedx benefits
Anyone start with Webmedx in the last month or so and know how long it takes for benefits to kick in?  Old timers told me 30 days but recruiter said 90 and very little PTO in the first year.  Is this a new thing?
Does Lee Perfect have ER accounts, benefits? (nm) TIA

zzzzz

MQ does and Webmedx has benefits for 35 hours. Bet there are more 2. nm
.
Webmedx offers benefits for FT MTs; not sure sm
how many years of experience you must have but I'd think 7-8.5 cpl to start for acute care, if you can do ops. Plus there's a bonus / incentive package for shift differential and weekends.
Good benefits at Webmedx - sm
medical, vision, dental, life and disability insurance; PTO and holidays. Lots of work, you use their equipment. ESL - that may be more of an issue. But it doesn't hurt to find out what is open at this time. Good luck to you. I was outsourced from my hospital job about 10 years ago and feel lucky to have ended up at Webmedx.
Webmedx is great for me; good benefits, sm
PTO, reasonable insurance cost. Plenty of work, decent platform (although we had some trouble last week but that's rare). I realize one company can't be right for everyone, but Webmedx has been great for me. 8 years and counting.
Webmedx has pretty good benefits sm
The benefits at Webmedx are pretty good. You are eligible for benefits after 90 days. I am paying about $400 per month for a family plan for health, dental, and vision. The coverage is pretty good for general visits and pharmacy, but there is either a $1000 or $2000 deductible (depending on which plan you choose) for hospitalization, after which insurance pays 80% and you pay the rest. There is also a deductible for certain medical supplies. My son is a type 1 diabetic and we have to pay a $1000 deductible for his insulin pump supplies. Not the best insurance that I've ever had, but it is much cheaper than what my husband can get through his work (he would have to pay $1000 per month in premiums for a family plan).
I am very happy at Webmedx and love their benefits. SM
We have 4 little girls, so benefits were very important to us. Very good coverage, low copays and deductibles. Good luck :-)
Webmedx - Benefits and Full-Time Status

I'm a bit surprised that I haven't seen any posts regarding the new requirements to be considered full time at Webmedx beginning in 2009 -- 40 hours per week rather than the previous 35 per week.

I guess it doesn't surprise me completely, but I'm not all that happy about it. An extra hour a day of work isn't high on my list of activities I want to add to my day. I already have a hard time fitting everything in.

Anyone else want to share their feelings about it?

Hourly pay, great benefits, schedule depends upon which accounts...sm
you are QAing.  Solid company.  Good luck!
Great office staff, okay pay, no benefits, horrible ESL all accounts...NM
NM
The national I work for does not do that. sm
If low on work, they do not take away benefits.
you work for a national....nm

I work FT for a national,
and a few hours a week as an IC for a local doc, whose transcription I have done for nearly 11 years now. The full-time job is 32 or more hours per week, and includes benefits. The IC gig might take 3 hours a week, but the line rate is a LOT more than for the national, and in fact is keeping me alive.
Unfortunately, when you work for a national or particularly a specialist, there are ..sm
many, many referring physicians. Doctors do not want to take the time during dictation to be considerate in providing spellings of doctors names, towns, and even spelling of patient names. It is ashame, however very common for many of us to have to take the time to look it up. I have found, in my experience, when I have had my own clients over the years, I don't take this horse sh_ _. I left blanks and had their office staff fill in the missing info. After time, the doctors became more disciplined and provided more complete dictation after being hounded by their office staff. Unfortunatley, when you work for a local service or national transcription company, you have to take the heat for not researching the doctor names, addresses, etc. Sad, but true. Find some good national doctor databases for this purpose. If you are referring to patient names in relation to demographics, you simply cannot guess on them. Spell it as it sounds and type spelling not given (doc's problem in this case).
Would anyone work for a large national co, with a

I use the company provided computer.  They had a change in computers and I was sent a new one.  Since that time, the foot pedal provided has not worked.  I can hear reports, but I cannot backup or move ahead using the pedal.  To hear something again, I have to bang my foot on the pedal. To move ahead forward or go backward for any length, I must go to playback page and manually move the cursor to where I need to be.

I have put up with this for five years. Yes, that is right, FIVE YEARS!!!! I have called our so-called Help Desk numerous times and I have been sent two more pedals, neither of which work, or, rather, work the same as the original pedal.  I have asked for help from countless people.  The Help Desk states I am the only one having the problem.  The supervisor says I am the only one having the problem. I know one other person on my team who is also having having the problem, but we are too  ashamed to really raise heck.  I am disgusted.

By the way, it is the most commonly used foot pedal. Even their ad states it works with any computer.  I just had to vent.

I too work for a national which is DCing the DD on 8/1. sm
My other job is working for a hospital at home. So glad I have that hospital position! I get full benefits, plenty of work, and respect. (3/3 ain't bad!!) I also have 30+ years' experience, ex-CMT by exam. Go for it, CMT, and I wish you the best of luck.

Check out not-so-local hospitals within your state, too.

I used to work for a national and when we ran an ad, we would get 200-300 resumes. sm
These all came at once, so it was a little time-consuming to get through them. Email or call because the squeaky wheel does get the grease!
Yes I work for a smallish national..plus still has not come in mail either
nm
Talking about the ones who say you cannot work for another national MT service. nm
nm
I work full time for a national and as an IC
for a local company. The FT is 40 hours per week, the IC is when I want to work, usually about 10 to 12 hours a week.
Absolutely not! I work for the best MTSO. I am have been so blessed to work for the small company I

I will share this about the MTSO I work for.  I called her late last Wednesday night after Church and told her I was compelled to help out with Hurricaine Katrina in some way and an opportunity arose for a small group from my Church to go to Louisianna this coming week.  Would she be able to cover my work.  She told me no problem without any hesitation and even donated money for the trip.

And I am sure there are plenty of good companies out there to work for.  To compare us to migrant workers is just not right.

Webmedx does on certain accounts; ask. nm
.
I work on it. Usual amount of work. Not running out but not backlogged either. They seem to have
about the right staffing on it. Hope that helps.
I actually left about a year ago and work for another company that's running out of work. Have to

i work for one national, 2 services, and have one private account...
I have four kids between ages 18 and 5. Right now I have bitten off more than I want to chew with all the accounts. One pays 10.5, one pays 9, and one pays 8.5 with incentive. My private account, believe this, pays 21 cents per line, but they only dictate about $500 per month worth. I need to get rid of one but don't know which one yet. The good thing, if there is one.......I never run out of work.
Co I work for, large national, allows normals. Of course, you must listen
zz
I agree with ChiaPet- I work for a big National that advertised
Sun-Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday. I told them I would prefer M-F, because Saturday and Sundays are my time. They found an account that accommodated my wishes. I also might add that it is day shift. You have the choice. Yes, they would prefer everyone work that shift, but I promise you there are enough of us that those that love weekend work can do the weekend work, and those that like our weekends can have our weekends off.
