When you choose to be an IC, you give up benefits and pay your own SS taxes, ect. I would never take an IC job with set hours because I give up paid time off and other benefits and that is the price I pay to be an IC. Also, it is against the IRS rules for them to dictate what hours you work. So, they are getting away with not paying benefits and paying our SS taxes and paying us as ICs. It is not fair.
