Fried pork chops, mashed potatoes,
gravy, and don't know what else yet; about to get up and go check!
Mashed potatoes:
You have to mix in sour cream to stabilize the mashed potatoes or they will become watery. But twiced baked potatoes freeze amazing this way.

Have fun!
mashed potatoes, baby!!!

Meatloaf with mashed potatoes

OMG, fried cream corn?!!??

Thank you! Actually, the fried chicken is chicken strips sm
breaded and fried that I make from scratch. Yes, I buy the 5 pound bag from Sam's club, fry it up and then toss is with my mom's famous teriyaki sauce cut into small, bite sized pieces. With 5 pounds cut up I can make well over 120 pieces. No big deal! Thanks for your suggestions!
Breakfast - homemade biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs,
bacon, fried bologna and potato pancakes.  It was scrumptious!!!!
Fried round steak, mashed. pot, chinese cole slaw, biscuits and pumpkin pies. nm

last year homemade carmel corn,
this year pumpkin mini-muffins with candy corn on top...
If you had said shuffling, watermelon eater, fried chicken
all day long- do you think that might be offense to some also? Because something sounds, I guess, so backwoodsy you say from the south? I am so glad the post turned out to be a yankee because I know of no one who eats like that. You Yankees really have some odd foods. I personally (as well as others here) find offensive because of the fact it sounds so ignorant for anyone to assume southern thing.
homemade chicken soup here
Teenage son just walked in and said, Oh, good. We get to eat tonight. LOL. Guess he is tired of take-out.
If they are crescent rolls, make a pot pie using the rolls as a crust....see recipe
place a layer as a bottom crust as well. Bake until golden brown.

HUNTERS SAUSAGE PIE

Brown and drain two pounds sausage.

Mix one 8 ounce package cream cheese with sausage.

Use crescent rolls to make a bottom crust in the bottom of a lightly buttered 8 x 8 glass baking dish.

Spread sausage mixture on rolls evenly.

Place a remaining crescent rolls on top and bake at 350° for 20 minutes or so, or until golden brown.

Cut in squares and serve.

You can also sprinkle shredded sharp cheddar cheese in the sausage mix.

My dad told me that I got the chicken pox from playing in the chicken coop. I believed him for years

I don't care which way it rolls
Heck, I'm thrilled if someone other than me replaces the TP.
Caramel Rolls
FROZEN BREAD DOUGH CARAMEL ROLLS

2 loaves frozen bread dough
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 sm. pkg. of each vanilla & butterscotch pudding (not instant)
2 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2-1 c. chopped nuts

Thaw bread, but do not allow to raise. Grease a 9"x13" pan. Tear one loaf into pieces and drop helter skelter into pan. Melt butter, add rest of ingredients and beat smooth. Pour over torn up loaf. Tear second loaf and throw on top (try to place in empty spots). Let raise 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

Place in 375 degree oven for about 30 minutes. Let cool about 15 minutes, turn over on wax paper.

I like to drop each piece of dough into a mixture of sugar and cinnamon before dropping in pan (optional).

Can also leave bread partially frozen before breaking and put all back in freezer. Set out Saturday night and bake on Sunday morning. Very good.

cinamon rolls???
Let the dough rise in buttered pan.  Roll out with flour to rectangle shape, brush off, sprinke with cinamon and sugar and raisins if you like them, roll up long ways and cut into 2-3 inch sections, place in cake pans, about 6 or so in an 8 x 9 (also brushed with butter).  Lay towel over and let rise again. Bake at 350 till golden.  Spread buttercream frosting on.  Just like Cinnabon.  YUM.
I believe strongly in gender rolls...
I know that this statement will be contraversial, but I think that the best way to keep a marriage healthy is to subscribe to traditional gender rolls. While I believe that marriages can last when other agreements are made, I think that straying from traditional gender rolls is a big cause of the increase in divorce. Yes, my husband does clean some and, obviously, I work, but for the most part, I take care of the house and the babies and he brings home the money. We are very happy this way. I am not saying that it cannot work another way, I think that it is a lot to ask of a husband to do both and a lot of women do.
I used gravy for cats...sm
My cat had to go on vet-prescribed cat food for recurrent urinary tract blockage.  He refused to eat the stuff until I added some gravy bought at the pet store.  It has vitamins and minerals for cats.  It is pricey, though.  I weaned the cat from it gradually and now only give it to him once in a while as a treat.  Good luck!
Biscuits and gravy, of course. It's the law.

good gravy

last time i watched it was when the tornado hit.  It was just getting a little too out there for me.  thanks for the update though.  bet this goes down as the season for DH that is equated to the dream season in Dallas.  sorry if that doesn't make sense, I'm a little tired.

thanks again.

Interpretation: I don't like mashed taters means
I don't like/want KFC. She just didn't know how to tell you...

Do pizza or subs or chicken wings. It's family. Have fun!! :-)
Biscuits, pie crust, and gravy...
absolutely awful at these!
Nope..no gravy boat.
Mine did not come with one either. Below are a few on ebay that might work. I like the last one too because it is round and could be used with one of your larger saucers. Hmm. I did not have S&P shakers either. Believe it or not I use these as my every day dishes. They are very, very durable, but then again I do not have children either. My mother always said, what good is china if you can only use it once a year! They do look lovely at christmas time on a gold charger plate. I also used candles shaped like pine cones and/or pine cones in the center piece. I paint also so I will probably end up feeling sorry for you and paint you one!

Salty gravy remedy, please? sm
Lid fell off salt shaker and the salt went into the gravy pan.  I scooped out as much as I could, but it is still very salty.  Can I salvage this?  Please say yes!
Beef stroganoff over fettucini, broccoli, dinner rolls.

burned the crap out of my belly with mashed potatos

I was just stiring instant potatos and then somehow it jumped on my belly and now I have this 2-3 inch mass of skin that has blisters, some of which have popped, and this one 2 inch round lesion that just looks gross.  I probably should have gone to the hospital, but since I have no money I just treated it over the counter with antibiotic ointment.  Has anyone done this before?  If so what did you use?  It is painful!!!!  I bought this lidocaine stuff, but it hurts worse.  At least it is healing!!!  I am a dum dum!!!  Those potatos were out to get me darnit!!!

My gravy is so good but you need a knife to spread it!
What I have never been able to master was meatloaf and I love it. Mine always with anyway I make it comes out tasting just like cooked hamburger, no difference, might as well fix me a burger!
Rolls, dessert (some kind of soft pie or chocolate pie). Instead of potato salad, maybe sm
mashed potatoes since they are edentulous. Green bean casserole was a great idea. Corn casserole too is yummy.
Pork chops, mashed taters, and roasted veggies
Hubby wants lots of meat!

Can you freeze fried eggs? - sm
I thought I might freeze breakfast sandwiches for my son so he can have a quick breakfast before work - you know, bagel, egg, bacon and cheese.  Anybody know if eggs freeze and the microwave well? Thanks!
I'm in north MS, I saw a bag of fried peanuts in...

still in the shell at a convenience store yesterday!

I grew up in IL and many of the foods I grew up eating are the same here.

my fave too...along with Fried Green Tomatoes

ah yes, fried spam on grilled cheese!

I've tasted fried calamari. To me, it
was tasteless, just tasted the crust.
Oh for crying in the corn
I've put in zillions of urinary catheters in males. I've cleaned behind foreskins. I've "dug" people out when they've had more problems than milk of magnesia can handle. (I'm a nurse turned transcriptionist.) That's totally more intimate than dancing with someone. I have never cheated on my husband even with those experiences. LOL

If these people cheat, it's not the dancing's problem, it's the person's problem.

I do not care for this show one bit, so I'm not defending it at all. I just think this argument is not terribly valid.
corn vs grass
Out west the prairie is a mess because the buffalo are missing. If you go to any ranch that is properly managed using grazing cattle there are flowers and prairie grasses everywhere, any land that is mismanaged looks awful. The prairie and the cattle were made for each other but are separated now because of feed lots. The cattle cannot be slaughtered past the age of two because of the endless list of diseases they succumb to. Also, if they only eat grain, the grain will kill them. So a little bit of corn at finishing may make them more valuable to the consumer, but it also increases the price to the consumer, compromises the health of the animal and the land. Letting them make food out of grass, rather than feeding them our food to make them marbled or juicy is controversial to me.
Fried rice is another good, cheap meal (sm)
I use a rice cooker a lot since I can cook w/o babysitting it. Make extra rice and put it in a ziplock bag and refrigerate. Next day you can take the leftover rice and bits of meat and veggies left over from other meals and an egg or two, and make fried rice. If you're new at it, there are some inexpensive fried rice spice mix packets that give you the flavor with some instructions. But once you've done it a few times, you can wing it with some asian spices and just use up the leftovers you have.
Two egg whites fried in butter flavored spray and a cup SM
of hot Lipton tea with lemon. Same thing every morning, and God help me if I look in the canister and discover I am out of tea bags!  That just can't happen!

Another good corn recipe

1 15-16 can Mexicorn

1 small package yellow rice

6-8 oz cheddar cheese

1 can cream of chicken soup

Cook rice according to package directions. Mix with all other ingredients. Pour into small casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.

very, very tasty

Corn starch isn't really recommended
for yeast because it can actually feed yeast.

My DH uses Corn Husker's Lotion. NM

raw potatoes
If I remember correctly, put raw potatoes in the gravy and leave for 15 or 20 minutes or so.  The potatoes will absorb some of the salt.  Good luck!
Talc and corn starch are not the same thing...
