I know what you mean about a no win

situation. My cat is 12 years old and is basically a nice pet, BUT it wasn't always that way.

Formerly,(before his surgery that is) he attacked anyone at the drop of a hat and, at times, did some damage. He had never been abused or mistreated. He was scared of noises, kids, and people in general. He could be quite vicious, usually going for the face, if he could get close enough.

He was already well into adulthood before we had him declawed and neutered; the vet actually suggested having him put down because he felt we should not have the cat around kids, but my daughter said she didn't want to see that happen.

He really mellowed after his surgery. He still hisses and bites occasionally but is nowhere near like he was before. We all breathed a sigh of relief!
