Most definitely

I live in a small town and we most definitely lock our doors. We'd double lock if we could and if it was my house I'd go out and buy a few more locks. We're a small town but crime is horrible. Criminals are breaking in while people sleep (most of the burglaries are commited in the middle of the night here) and those who have no protection are really the ones who suffer.

I grew up in a very small town on the other side of the country (less than 5000 population) where while we didn't know everyone we knew most. We did leave our doors unlocked and in the summer left the door open to let a breeze come in. We also left keys in our car, etc. But that was the 1960s. Gosh, give me the 50s and 60s anyday over what is happening to our country in today's society.

What has happened to the America I grew up in? It is so sad to see how many criminals and how many people just don't have the same values as the way I grew up.

I really do not know anyone who doesn't lock their doors. Even the small town I grew up in, while they are no where near the population of bigger towns crime has made it there and my family was telling me that now everyone locks their doors.

I guess the world I grew up in is only in my dreams now. It is sad.
