Peanuts in Coke
I grew up in Texas, and I saw it all the time.  The salt is suppose to make it better.  I have also heard of someone choking to death when a peanut got stuck in his trachea.
Peanuts In Coke?

I just got off the phone with a friend of mine. She recently met a man who puts peanuts in his Coke, then he drinks it.

I remember a song when I was growing up and this was mentioned. It sounds horrible. Have any of you ever done this?

Why???

Is it good? Dont the peanuts gets mushy?

Peanuts in Coke
I live in Tenn and I have done this all of my life. It is good. I also love my sweet tea too. My daughter traveled to the North on a business trip and asked the waitress for sweet tea and one of the guys asked why she asked for sweet tea which they did not have. Where he lived, they did not do this. He said they put sugar in after the tea got cold. My daughter told him if you put the sugar in the tea while it is hot, it would dissolve better. He said he would try it the next time. Love them Chicken and Dumplings too. Gosh, it is about time I made some dumplins soon. I have not done that for awhile, too busy trying to make a few dollars with work being so slow right now with the terrible economy.
I do feed the squirrels a mix with peanuts
and seeds and sprinkle it on the ground. Unfortunately they bury the peanuts instead of eating them. I've had as many as 20 squirrels in my yard before when I spread food out on the ground for them. They're pigs and it's quite ridiculous, but yes, I do put food on the ground and in a plastic bowl in an attempt to get them to stay on the ground. They have broken 2 nice feeders already, and for those reasons, many people like to keep them off the feeders.
I'm currently avoiding ALL products with peanuts in them,
as the recall just seems to keep getting more and more expansive. At the beginning of it I bought some chocolate-covered cookies with peanut-flavored middles that were going to go on a picnic with me, to share with others. Instead, I bought different cookies to share with my friends. (I have few enough friends, without poisoning them to death!) Still, I couldn't throw away the package, and since they were generic, without a particular brand, I finally took a chance and ate one bite of one myself. They were fine, and needless to say, I ended up polishing off the entire package.
I'm in north MS, I saw a bag of fried peanuts in...

still in the shell at a convenience store yesterday!

I grew up in IL and many of the foods I grew up eating are the same here.

boiled eggs
Once I mentioned I liked boiled eggs. Everyone was so mad at me, there were 36 sitting in the middle of the table at dinner! Eat up!
Where I'm from boiled jowl meat and hot water cornbread
could be combined to make scrapple, a Philadelphia treat.

Mmmm Mmmmm scrappleneggs.
Emeril Legasse taught me about hard-boiled eggs

Emeril says to put the eggs in the pot with the  cold water, and wait for it to boil, when it's a rolling boil, shut off the stove, and cover the pot for 13 minutes - and voila!!  Perfect hard-boiled eggs!!

Yes! The simpler the better, to me. Hellman's mayo, chicken breast boiled, cut up sm
just add as much mayo as you'd like - I don't use that much. Salt, pepper, and cut up red or green grapes gives it a little tang and sweetness. It's the first to go every single time at a party.

Also, be creative with the breads you use - kaiser rolls, french bread, etc.

Thanks for reminding me. I am going to boil some chicken right now and have that for lunch!
If they are boiled in crab boil and nice and spicy they are delish!
Love 'em.
