Yes but I went back again and found it this time. sm
Thanks...had to follow some links all around the 'Net but found it...should be about mid November or so.
Aww, poor thing. Glad you found it in time...sm
If it is still out there in the morning and you are not sure what to do, try giving a veterinarian a call and see if they have a wildlife rescue place you could call.  The vet I worked for years ago had a list of places to refer caring people like you.  Good luck.
As someone with barn attached to house (sm)

you can imagine the fly problems I have encountered!  Hands down the best piece of arsenal you can have is this "metered fly spray dispenser" from Country Vet.  Every 15 minutes it automatically sprays a squirt of fly spray.  A can lasts 30 days (longer if you turn off machine at night) and IT'S WORTH EVERY PENNY!

In the fly-free seasons, I have scents that I can put in there instead, so it's a device that does double-duty, which is always a bonus if you're a penny pincher like me!  Here's a link to where I bought my machine and refills:

we were both free-lancing and ended up at the same barn every morning. I was attracted to his sense of humor mostly. His personality grew on me. We've been together 28 yr now, with two grown beautiful well-adjusted children.
Yes, thanks to God and Peter who said "I will build my sm
church on this rock." And ever since, as Christians, we've always had a sense of community, like-minded believers who fellowship and gather and love one another as we worship, pray, and serve God. It is an amazing thing. I sure do wish you were a part of that! LOL I love you and you are absolutely hysterical and hilarious - Christian or not. I don't care! You are awesome. I've always said if I were in Maine (I'm in the south) I'd be your friend. Every day of the week! And we wouldn't have to talk about God or anything. I'm so sick of religion and religious people and people who throw stones. Ugh!

You say spanking does not build trust?
It sure makes a kid do good, though. I would not raise my kids to be terrors and surely not with g'kids. I just do not have it period.
Start with what's on sale and build from there ... sm
1. Stick to from-scratch meals when you can as opposed to anything packaged and/or processed.
2. Bake bread from scratch, too, rather than buy, if you can, or at least pick up some of the frozen loaves of dough and bake 'em, which is usually still considerably cheaper.
3. Potatoes (unless you load 'em down with something fattening or need to avoid starches for some reason) are generally pretty cheap, as are eggs, various types of pasta, chopped frozen vegetables. When I'm in "conservation mode," I tend to make a lot of macaroni salads, potato salads, egg salads, etc., either as standalones or as sandwich fillings (and if you stick to low- or no-fat dressings, sour creams, salsas, etc., you can stay reasonably healthy).
4. Cereal (both hot and cold) and milk, if you buy wisely for both price and nutrition, are usually a reasonably cheap meal, as well.

I'm sure you know all this, but just brainstorming. But definitely try to take advantage of what's on sale and incorporate that when you can.

sorry, you got me on a roll (sm)
do you normally have sex with people who treat you like dirt?
They think I will just accept the money and roll over, not!
I have some property for sale out of state, overlooking the lake, 6+ acreas. I said I wanted at least 145,000.00 for it and the people who want say they will GIVE me 110,000 and close in 30 days. Get this, I do not care if they want to close tomorrow.... Just irritates me that they think I HAVE to close like I will not be able to eat tomorrow unless I sell to them for what they want. Unbelievable. I can keep it for all that....
Crescent roll lasagne

Four packs of crescent rolls in tubes.

2 pounds of ground meat

1 6 ounce can tomato paste

One onion chopped

One clove of garlic minced

Salt 1 t, oregano 1 t, basil 1 t and parsley 2T

2 cups small curd cottage cheese with 2 eggs mixed in and 1/2 cup parmesan grated, stirred all together.

2 cups grated mozzarella

Sesame seeds and  1 T milk.

Cook meat in large pan with onion and garlic.  Add spices and paste (it will be thick, don't use sauce.

Open up two cans of crescent rolls on greased cookie sheet and press together all edges and seams.  Top with all meat sauce.  Top that with the cottage cheese/parmesan/egg mixture.  Top that with mozzarella.  Open up two more cans of rolls and make a top crest, sealing seams and edges.  Brush top with milk and sprinkle on sesame seeds.  Bake at 375 for 25-35 minutes until brown.  Get a fork.

I'm not the one that got the pink roll of toliet paper. . sm
I'm not sure if your question was directed at me or not. I am the one who had an office manager that had a problem with me going to the restroom too many times. She would purposely wait for me to get into the restroom and page me before I could even sit down on the toliet, not really needing me for anything. She just wanted to make others laugh in my work area because they knew where I was. She also counted how many times I went to the bathroom and made sure everyone else knew that I had diarrhea. This all went on behind my back until my friend told me what was going on. Maybe not exactly a hostile work environment but too uncomfortable for me to continue working there. She was in charge of the office, so there really was no one over her to report her to.
I'm not obvious about it, but...

it is obvious by her mood swings when it is approaching, and we all run for cover!   Also, when she gets hers, I know my is only a few days aways, so that is helpful to me, too.

I also regularly check her BC pills (she's 17) because she is in a serious relationship for over a year with the same guy and I'm not ready to be grandma for a long time.

obvious to who?

Sorry if I ask the obvious questions, but ...
Are you providing scratching posts loaded with catnip, fun toys, that kind of thing? I have had maybe a dozen cats over the years, none of them declawed, and none ever touched any of my furniture (some of it leather to boot)because I started them when they were young with taking them to the claw posts, praising them there, providing toys, etc. Give it a try before you declaw, please!!! Good luck.
Never said that she was, just stating the obvious......
I know if she were my sister (I'm around her age) I would not have wanted anyone to know, that's all.
The most obvious question here is......
Why isn't your husband doing anything about this? Just because this is his only sister doesn't mean he should put his family at risks. Does he worry more about his sister's feelings than his children's safety? He is the man of the house.....he needs to act like it. If he's anything like my husband, he's afraid he'll hurt her feelings. My SIL has always played the innocent, couldn't possibly have a negative bone in her body kind of game, but eventually my husband realized this was what was happening and he finally starting distancing himself. She is playing him for a fool and this is really about who he stands up for more than anything else......her or his family, and your MIL is doing the same thing......"Son, who do you really care about, me and your sister, or your wife and your children? Where does your loyalty really lie?" Better nip this in the bud.....it's already gone too far.

It seems obvious but I feel bad (sm)
I don't want to be mean to a good person just because they don't have it together. It's a hard decision for me.
and the obvious question is
What was on TV? ;-)
mine's probably obvious

aside from the fact that i'd be lost without my alprazolam, there is another reason.  my initials for tying are MS, which are very common.  so, many, many years ago, to separate myself from the group, i changed my initials to MX, which no one had.  now, i've even changed the way that i sign any documents requiring my initials as Mx.

also, as is probably common, some of us have other screen names here than just our primary.  i have more than one identity here, which shall remain nameless.  another one of me is much more of a trouble-maker than the true XanaX, another regards being an ex-employee for another company, and yet another regarding my location in this country.  i'm usualy X, but my mood changes and sometimes i need to be more anonymous.

I know this is stating the obvious but sm
Just quit doing it and they will get the idea and stop.  Trust me, I have a whiner for attention here at my house (and I have French doors to my office so he can see me to boot!), and when he pulls that whining nonsense I just ignore him, he gets bored, and moves on.  Be firm!  Best of luck!

If you can't change your SIL's mind (and it seems obvious you can't) sm
Then you need to build a fence around your property to protect your children. Yes, I know it's expensive, but what are your children's lives worth?
he shouldn't even ask-it's too obvious and classless

again, just my own *take* on the situation...betcha these people always get called by virtual strangers or acquaintenances to stay with them while the guests do Disney Parks.....living in Orlando and all that....

it reeks of using them.....just to stay there.....

Bad taste, to say the very least.

You are a caring, loving person. That has been obvious SM
from your posts for a long time to me. You are doing the right thing and staying on top of this. With your close eye and caring and with professionals on board I think your son has a bright future. Keep us informed.
Besides the obvious humiliation the girl has suffered

Isn't this also the equivalent of performing medical testing on a minor without parental consent?  I agree with all of the above posters.  This child has been humiliated and that counselor needs to lose his job.  I have a 12 yo and she would be MORTIFIED if this was done to her.  She's uncomfortable enough with her body changes,  such as her breasts developing and just starting to have periods.  She would be embarrassed beyond words if something like this happened to her.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious what any list means

Re-read your post - you already know the answers to your questions, it's obvious. nm

Yeah we are both Christian women I thought that was obvious.

when I roll in the driveway I see my dog sitting there staring out, waiting, waiting, and (sm)
When he sees me he yawns and stretches, then puts on this act of being all bored and sits on his tail so I cannot see it wagging... like he was not eagerly waiting for me the whole time and seeing me is no big deal.  Every single time.  If I have someone with me I'll say, "watch what Walter does..." and he does this every time.  Oh, by the way, don't feel bad for this guy for having to wait for me once in while, he has the life of a king.
No! That sounds too desperate. TIME. Just give it TIME. If it is real, then sm
something will definitely evolve. If you like him, flirt back! Don't act desperate because if he DOES like you, then the suspense will just make him want to get to know you more. Trust me on this.

I worked in the medical records department of a hospital when I was single and dated a few co-workers in my early 30s. It was fun. Nothing serious came about any of the relationships.

This sounds like fun - the beginning of maybe something to come....Keep us informed.
Totally agree, get these from time to time since teens...sm
It's a neuro condition, it does not mean there is anything at all wrong with you, it is actually related to narcolepsy, hypnagogic (sp? I just got up!) hallucinations, etc. And I HATE when I get these, it is always freaky, my siblings get this too, at times. I can "go away" for years and years before you get another episodes, so don't worry! I heard that when you are under a lot of stress or are very busy with things that this happens more??? Take care!!
It's time to stop when you or the kid(s) feel it is time, and no sooner. sm
My grandmother (who passed away at the young age of 107 back in the mid 1990s) was STILL celebrating every little holiday for all of her many kids and grandkids, and she would STILL give me a chocolate bunny every Easter, as she had since I was a toddler and even though I was 40ish at the time (and I still delighted in biting its head off in front of her, as I had also done since I was a toddler, which always met with mock disapproval from her).

Don't let anyone dampen your joy in celebrating your traditions.
The very 1st time he talked about killing you, was the time
The guy sounds like a psycho.
Rachael Ray has a segment from time to time
on using the bottom of the bottle receipes (i.e. bar-be-q sauce, peanut butter, maple syrup) and I have used many of her ideas and been amazed at how far you can stretch a dollar that way. Go to her website, it will give you many ideas.
Oh Amy, surely there was a man who "kept" you from time to time..
or you were at least married and had access to money!
It was a great time - I just hate the time we are in now
I liked your post. Thanks for replying It's nice to know other people were raised like me. We seem to appreciate the things we have. Oh I should've also said we didn't have A/C growing up. My parents idea of A/C was having my sister and I wave a piece of cardboard in front of them. HA HA HA.

I just couldn't stand the 90s and 2000s are even worse. I hate all the politics going on today, the world events, the bleak future. The degenerates running around, listening to kids talk back to their parents, girls gone wild, etc, etc. I'm grateful my grandparents and mom are not alive anymore to have to go through this with us.

I love watching old movies and the music of the 40s/50s. If I was alive back then I would've been doing the jitterbug and all those other fun dances. Life seemed simpler and cleaner (even though I've got a mouth like a sailer - guess I got that from my Army days).

I wouldn't mind the turn of the century either. I love the clothing and the simple life. Those are the times when the husband took care of the wife. If I could be transported back to the 1800s I surely would in a second.
As soon as I found out
I was really excited because we weren't planning on having a second child so as soon as I found out I told everyone. Thankfully all went well. I would think it would be up to the individual. My friend never told anyone until she was 5 months or so along because she had suffered a miscarriage earlier and was having some symptoms that she was worried about.
found these...

Nestle chocolate (like chocolate milk)

Neopolitan ice cream

nachos (don't know how much kiddies will like those though)

I never found out as a kid.
I guess I was really lucky, because no other kids ever told me about Santa and I never questioned it with my parents. I guess I knew at a certain age, but I don't recall what age it was (probably well into my teens).

My kids are 14, 10, and 8 and they all still believe. They tell me that some of their friends say Santa doesn't exist, but they don't believe their friends. My kids think it's sad that they don't believe in Santa.

I don't think kids need to be told about Santa. At some point they'll figure it out on their own, if not now then when they have their own kids!!!
I think we found it...
Thank you to all of you who shared some great ideas. As many of you I considered the baby monitors, however, I was trying to think of all the "what-if's" and was worried that if she fell going down the hall to the bathroom in the middle of the night, she might not be close enough to a monitor in a nearby room to make enough "noise" to get our attention, especially considering she is still somewhat short of breath following the surgery..might not have enough wind in her to be able to yell out for help. I did find what I think we need and am going to RadioShack tomorrow to check it out. It had some great reviews from people that have purchased it for much the same reason..to alert someone else in the house instead of a pricey call center..however, does still give her the cability of reaching 911 if we happen to not be home at the time. Thanks again for everyone who took the time to post a response. If the product below (I hope the link works) is not what we need we will look further into some of the other posts. And if anyone else out there finds themselves or a family member in the same situation (we will hope not), then this might be something to keep in mind.

Wish you all a very merry Christmas with your families.
