THANK YOU MARIE!!!
I spoke on this a few weeks back when some 36 year old guy went on a rant with his parents (a topic posted by someone here, can't recall who)..this guy was whining about his life and it was his parent's fault, etc...I too was brought up in the time when as a child if you did something wrong - you were punished for it, and believe me, I received my fair share of spanikngs, etc.  It didn't kill me but one thing it did teach me - that there ARE LIMITS and if you cross the boundary established by your parents - you had understand that there are CONSEQUENCES; which sadly many kids this day and age do not have.  I am a believer in the scripture 'spare the rod and spoil the child' and unfortunately it has come to pass with the fact that you cannot discipline your children as you deem appropriate for fear of running afoul of the law, and these kids are smart enough to know this and use it at times against their parents because they don't want to listen.  I had written a few weeks ago about a good friend of mine who had a twelve year old daughter who went to school and lied on her mom; said her mom beat her, etc.  My friend was arrested at work, had to go to court, the kid was taken by CPS - it was awful.  My friend did spank her daughter but did NOT BEAT her, no marks on her at all.   This kid did this to her mom because her mother would not allow her to 'hang out' with older kids (16/17 year olds), so this kid makes up this story because she didn't get her way and do what she wanted.  The parents were separated, so the kid was sent to live with her dad and she tried the same stunt on him but it didn't work.  It's sad that we live in fear of our own children in this day and age.

Marie Osmond
Dancing with the stars!  Yep, she did.  Did you see her pass out?  I could not believe what I was seeing.  Live TV, you just never know what is going to happen.  She was not real chipper and bubbly like normal afterward.  Glad it turned out OK.
Hey Marie - I don't know where to get the icons
They do make the post much more fun to read. I always see people putting little funny icons in but I don't know where to find them.

You are right on about the hicks. There are just a few things in this life I don't understand.
1. Why aren't people considerate of their neighbors.
2. Why don't people love their pets like we love ours and take care of them the truly decent way.
3. Why there are so many criminals. I just want to scream "hello out there - you need to wake up and live like the rest of us - making an honest life for yourself. If it's not yours don't take it.

Okay, the list could go on and on but am too tired right now. Thanks for the funny little smiley things.
Marie, your post says it all about you.
And where your values lie. Watch out where you point that finger, you have 3 pointing back at you.
Sounds like Marie on Everybody Loves Raymond. nm
Marie is probably a lot nicer though.
Marie's dead doll dance . . .
I kept on waiting for her to "start up", you know, come alive and start really dancing. Especially when he wound her up with the key, I thought the routine would really start. It was the oddest thing.
Marie - I was ROFL reading your post
Sorry I know its not funny especially for you. That is totally disgusting. They sound like the nieghbors we had in Reno, but they didn't have pets - it was their stinking food and stuff they left all over. Why do people live like such nasty ho's. Well we may not have the dog poo but they did do something with their back yard and fertilizer and it really stinks and now we are infested with flies here. I won't call Animal control because they really are not cruel to their dog, they just let it bark all the time then it goes inside once it gets dark out. They do play with their dog too (its constantly getting loose and they are running up and down the street yelling for it - dog comes back). None of our neighbors have their dogs tied up, they just let them roam free. I like the solution that Jim Carey did in a movie called Me, Myself and Irene when he kept telling his neighbor to stop letting the dog poo on his lawn. He went over to his neighbors lawn and took a dump on it in broad daylight while the neighbor watched. I thought that was hysterical. Well sounds like you needed to vent more than I did. I'll count myself lucky reading about you. Four years probably seems like forever to you too. Wish you best.
sorry, you got me on a roll (sm)
do you normally have sex with people who treat you like dirt?
Too many people felt sorry for Jane & Marie and gave them votes ..
so they wouldn't be eliminated, figuring the other dancers were too good to be eliminated. I agree it's too much of a popularity contest and not a dancing competition. On "Skating with the Stars" I think it was Kristy Swanson who fell in love with her teacher/partner, and he left his wife for her and now the two have a baby together.
They think I will just accept the money and roll over, not!
I have some property for sale out of state, overlooking the lake, 6+ acreas. I said I wanted at least 145,000.00 for it and the people who want say they will GIVE me 110,000 and close in 30 days. Get this, I do not care if they want to close tomorrow.... Just irritates me that they think I HAVE to close like I will not be able to eat tomorrow unless I sell to them for what they want. Unbelievable. I can keep it for all that....

I'm not sure if your question was directed at me or not. I am the one who had an office manager that had a problem with me going to the restroom too many times. She would purposely wait for me to get into the restroom and page me before I could even sit down on the toliet, not really needing me for anything. She just wanted to make others laugh in my work area because they knew where I was. She also counted how many times I went to the bathroom and made sure everyone else knew that I had diarrhea. This all went on behind my back until my friend told me what was going on. Maybe not exactly a hostile work environment but too uncomfortable for me to continue working there. She was in charge of the office, so there really was no one over her to report her to.
Night person all the way...Around midnight I'm ready to roll!!! nm

You rock! Thanks.
Good sprinkler for a noodlehead like me.
Rock On! Same here..
after 20 years of carting my kids, their friends, sports equipment, saddles, and of course helping half the planet move -- my youngest just got his license and I got myself a ragtop (2-seater) Saturn Sky. I may be old and pudgy, but I'm having a BLAST and it's all mine, mine, mine! Enjoy

sheet rock
I have seen this painted and I have also seen people do sheet rock mud over it to smooth the lines.  We have paneling that I hate.  Bought MIL's house.  Hubby loves it.  Too dark but in great condition  We are just going to put sheet rock on top and go from there.
under rock I suppose...
sorry, just never heard that one before...pardon moi!
Rock of Love
I just got done watching. I'm so glad Lacey is gone. I really like Jes. Most of the other women that were on the show were just too trampy for me. I have the feeling he's going to pick Heather though. I love all the shows you mentioned. How about I Love NY? She's from here in Syracuse. Feel free to email any time to talk about the shows. The same goes for JMR down below.
Now that is very sweet. Rock on, ma!
:)
Better climb under a rock,
or have all the posts been there for years? Nothing new. Liz Taylor stole Eddie Fisher from his wife, then had affair with Richard Burton (who was married)- hmmm guess they were way past their prime (also dead) to make to DWTS- this happened in the 60s and Ingrid Bergman (in the 40s) had twins with a guy she was not married to (married to someone else.) Like I said, better just go to a remote island and be alone for it not to happen.
Schoolhouse Rock
I love those! I want to get them for my 7-year-old son. I learned so much from all of them, especially the preamble to the constitution. Your kids are gonna enjoy them!
Fraggle Rock

I love Fraggle Rock.  We got a couple DVDs for my friend and I got some for myself and made the kids watch it.  :-)

FYI - Rock Band
We were going to trade in 1 guitar for the rock band set and were told the Rock Band still has a lot of kinks to work out and the sales person advised us to wait until after this Christmas as it will probably be the big thing for Christmas and the problems will be worked out.

I would love to get the 80's one too! I didn't know they had that! My husband was a DJ in highschool and I bet he would love that. Ok, that's now on his xmas list. lol Thanks!
I must live under a rock...
as I did not know that either! Not that there's anything wrong with that
What rock do you find these kind of men under?...

You are not respected in your marriage. Tell him to go by himself, save his own money and take your kids somewhere YOU want to go while he is gone. Please don't say that other than this he is a wonderful father, good provider, yada,yada...he has no respect for you or your opinion, which cancels out any good attributes, IMHO of course....

Remember Schoolhouse Rock? I just got the 2-set DVD from sm

our local library.  My kids are loving it! They are 3 and 5 and 11. All boys.  The 3 year old loves it the most.

I can't believe how much I'm learning! I just learned a few things on the song "I'm just a Bill, sitting on Capital Hill!" HAHA

Rock. Bath or shower?

Between a rock and a hard place - HELP!

Okay, back towards the end of last school year some mothers decided to have a coo at the elementary school and take over the PTO for this coming year from the ones that had been running it.  Shortly after that, the now ex-pres moved in next to us.  The neighbor across the street is now on the "new" PTO.  Somehow, they didn't elect a president for the coming year though and they came knocking on my door "oh you'll be great, we'll do all the work, we just need you to run the meetings, etc".  Well, I let the principal know that I would and now am regretting it.  I have a full-time job plus type part-time at night (switching to just weekends when school starts).  My husband is gone during the week so that leaves me to take care of kids, homework, games and practices, etc.  I get calls and emails all day long regarding PTO.  I thought about just sticking it out for the school year (I do have the flexibility to be off or leave early, come in late from my full time job) because I really want to be more involved in the school since my child is going into the second grade.  Well, the final straw was a few nights ago when a bunch of us parents were sitting in our driveways watching the kids playing.  It wasn't until after the ex-pres comes outside (she hasn't talked to any of us since all that happened), that the neighbor across the street starts talking PTO stuff at a level that the ex-pres can hear (I never replied to her about anything).  My husband went ballistic!  We came in the house and he said that was uncalled for, we need to move, and that he's very upset about me taking on the role of president.  SO, what do I do now?  How do I gracefully back out but not get shunned from being up at the school and helping out with some activities?

The other story with that neighbor across the street that has bugged me this week - everything my child gets (we are not frivilous by any means), she makes sure her kids get the same things, even down to the exact same pair and color or tennis shoes for school, clothes, bicycles and now, the yard ornaments that we have had in our yard, i see she has bought some and are now in her yard also.  I cringe now when I see her but I hate to keep my child from playing in the front yard just because her kids are out there (same age).  Any ideas on this too???

What a crappy week!!!

I need room under the rock, I didn't know either.

Navy Seals ROCK! sm

I am not surprised they were able to accomplish the rescue.  Have you seen those shows where they detail what exactly the training they go through entails and you watch people actually going through the training?  It is brutal.  Those guys who make it to the end are the cream of the crop.  Once again our military comes through!  I am so happy about the good outcome!

Reality show fan too! What do you think of Rock of Love?
LOL! And I Love New York from Flavor of Love! Surreal Life. lol. These are the best entertainment these days if you ask me. And there are so many I can't even remember all of them.

Also love Top Chef, America's Top Model, American Idol, etc., and that hair show called Shear Genius with Jacklyn Smith. Hope that comes back.

I had to get something similar to TIVO so I could record all of my shows!!!!

spent NYE playing Rock Band for PS2
a lot of fun though discovered I'm never going to be a drummer (or a singer) :) So I guess I won't quit my day job.
Were you at all aware of the 60s and 70s? That's exactly what the bulk of rock stars WERE doing!
fffff
I love an alternative rock band called
Minus the Bear and so does my 15 yo son.
lol I thought of Brett Michaels and Rock of Love
or whatever his show was called. lol
Adam Sandler, Michael Jordan, The Rock (sm)
How's that for variety? LOL!
My 7th grader is doing the Schoolhouse Rock as a musical this spring! nm

My daughter is in finances, owns her own home, goes to college part-time taking extra courses to advance her career. Frankly, my dear, I don’t know what you think but one thing I do know is please leave and go back to the other board- they might like you there. I based MY vote on the man, not the color of his skin but my daughter who is black could not make up her mind. What about that don’t you understand? I told her repubs did not have her back- too many old white folks. Face it, big L for loser.
