clarification of a definition of a word

Posted By: women on 2009-02-26
In Reply to: The proximity - One other thing

Using sex as a weapon:

Definition: Not having sex with your husband to punish him.

And it is not using sex as a weapon or as a reward to boink his brains out to make him remember why he loves you so much and has been married to you for so long.

You have to cool taters slightly or they will be too mushy.  We like it warm, not hot, but it is great cold as well.
Clarification and update

I looked again at some of the stuff.  It is all recent as the computer website history only goes back 5 days.  Some of it is male on male, transvestite, S&M also, kinky sex forums.  Now I am really worried.

As far as looking at his private computer.....he's been acting suspiciously for about the past year.  I felt that if he was behaving suspiciously in a way that could compromise my well-being it was worth checking out.  I would give the same advice to anyone.  If I found nothing I could have put my mind at rest, and if I did find something it would confirm what I already knew in my heart perhaps.

Everyone - thanks for the advice so far.

Clarification of Annies
There is NO way I'm even going to comment on this particular thread.

Just wanted to clarify "Annie M" is NOT me, AnnieM!AnnieM!

Clarification on the previous note
That is I am planning on rescuing 1 or 2 animals per month.
Shouldn't I have a better self-definition by now?? sm
I am up early, not sure if this will interest anyone, but want to sort of wonder "out loud" on here for a moment.  I am 40 years old, yet I still am ambivalent about my religious beliefs, my political beliefs, etc.  I find myself not being steadfast either way...I don't know if that means I don't yet know who I am (though by now you would think I should!) or if that means that I am just always going to be a flexible thinker? I sometimes read posts on the liberal board and the conservative board and I can always see both points of view and find ways that I feel they are both right and sometimes both wrong so I never lean to far to either side.  I grew up going to a Christian church and I believe in the general overall beliefs of Christians, but then I don't discredit other religions that others grew up with either.  And I don't necessarily agree with everything that most mainstream Christians believe.  Does all of this mean I am ignorant?  Or is it ignorant to be too closed-minded to believe that others also have valid points of view, that I don't always have to be right, and that there is more than one way to be "right"?  So sometimes I feel "undefined" and wonder how I can ever define myself...then other times I think I have defined myself exactly as I want to be.  Does anyone else feel "undefined"? and is it a good thing or a bad thing?
Another definition of a sex offender
I read about this some time ago and really do not remember which state but a man got out of his car and relieved himself on the side of the road, arrested and charged with being a sex offender. Anyone with just an ounce of sense should really think before they pull such stunts.
Definition of a single man...
... I heard this and told it to my then-husband, who, oddly enough, did not find it funny. (Perhaps because the shoe fit all too well.)

Anyway... this lady said that many men basically had their d*ck in one hand and their umbilical cord in the other, and were looking for a place they could plug them both in....
simple word - but hate the word 'moist'
I don't think I've ever used that word other than to say I hate it!
The text is a direct quote from TMZ, word for word.
Word for word from the title to the very end.
I think it depends on your definition of quality...sm
Iams, Eukanuba Science Diet, Purina Pro Plan, Nutro, etc. (found at Petsmart, Petco) are considered 'premium' foods, and they *are* better quality than, say, Purina Pedigree, Walmart's Ol' Roy (~shudder~), Kibbles N Bits, and other such brands that can be found in your local grocery store.

Just look at the ingredients. The cheaper, grocery store brands have grains as the very *first* ingredient (rice, corn, whatever) - not meat, or even meat meal. Dogs are carnivores. They need very little in the way of grains (carbs) - they need meat, but of course grains are cheaper than meat.

I guess it just depends on what you can afford to feed, and how important you think diet is. There have been lean times, long ago, when we've had to feed Pedigree to our dogs. (Not for long, thank goodness.) As we've been able, we've 'upgraded' so to speak. We went from Pedigree to Authority (which is a Petsmart brand) to Iams, to Eukanuba, to now, Innova (except my senior is on prescription Science Diet L/D for his elevated liver enzymes - though that may change as I've never been a fan of Science Diet & it doesn't seem to be helping anyway...)

But, if you can afford to feed better food, the premium brands are a step up from the 'grocery store' brands. Even better are the 'super premium' foods that can't be found in Petsmart or Petco. You usually have to find a small local distributor for these brands (Innova - what we currently feed, Flint River, Canidae, Solid Gold, etc. are considered super premium).

A step above the 'super premium' dry food is super premium canned food (because it has even more meat), and then a step above that is preparing the food yourself, with fresh ingredients (there are some good books out there for this, but I'm not that ambitious yet!)

I wish I had a good website to direct people to for all this. Most of this stuff I learned from the Siberian Husky listserv group I used to belong to. It's interesting stuff.

I agree with the person who said vets aren't experts on pet food. They aren't, because they aren't nutritionists. And from what I've heard, many vets are heavily influenced by Science Diet, (and other companies) starting from the time they're in vet school. As I said, Science Diet has never impressed me.

What I'm not quite understanding in all of this is why some people seem to be blaming individual pet food brands, when the problem came from a tainted ingredient that went to so many *different* brands.

The thing is, there are a lot of pet food companies, but there aren't a lot of pet food ingredient *manufacturers* here in our country. So I wouldn't hold this current tainted pet food problem against any certain brands, because I don't think we can really trust any brand where any of their ingredients come from outside our country, which *I think* means most brands other than maybe some of the super premiums. (Don't quote me on that though, I'm still investigating!)

If one wanted an accurate definition
of maturity, one would not be referred to your posts. We have harmed no one. Look in the mirror and say the same thing. . dare ya.
I googled it....Definition of Hypnagogic hallucination

Hypnagogic hallucination:

A vivid dreamlike hallucination that occurs as one is falling asleep. The opposite of an hypnopompic hallucination which is a vivid dreamlike hallucination that occurs as one is waking up.

As yuo see it is exaclty as I explained it in my 1st post.

You should thank me instead of calling me 'Dr.Jan', unless you really mean it.

It seems that you are already now addicted to Xanax, as you defend it so fiercely.
Good luck!

I found a definition of what I feel - I'm very happy to know I wasn't imagining it (sm)
AMBIENT ABUSE

The fostering, propagation and enhancement of an atmosphere of fear, intimidation, instability, unpredictability and irritation. There are no acts of traceable explicit abuse, nor any manipulative settings of control.

Yet, the irksome feeling remains, a disagreeable foreboding, a premonition, a bad omen. This is sometimes called "gaslighting". In the long term, such an environment erodes one's sense of self-worth and self-esteem.

No, it is not a word. The word is "regardless".
x
Last word on this, a big L
for loser!!! I saw her in interviews over the years and until she got with Stern never talked about her mother the way after they got together. I think Daniel and Annas death really ought to be really looked at, very closely. I think he wanted total control and I am glad the way it worked out, but then never thought any differently.
In a word...
I do believe in miracles!
We don't use the W word here.
This is the Gab board.

There are other boards for lecturing about work, and if that's your thing, then this isn't your board.
More you can do to get the word out

Please pass the word along ....  This toy, the Pimple Ball, has a single hole and a bell inside.  It is made in 3 sizes.  The dog gets the toy in the mouth, a vacuum effect is created because there is only 1 hole.  If the vacuum is not broken immediately, vascular flow to the tongue starts to be impacted.  The more force applied to remove the ball, the more stuck it becomes.  If unsupervised while playing, the dog can reach a major state of distress before anyone realizes what has happened. The dog featured in this heartbreaking story is not the only animal that has been injured by this toy.

If you have a vet that you frequent, make his office aware (I emailed the info to mine).  I also called our largest doy supply distributor locally, and he pulled the toy off the racks as we spoke.

I know as of 2 weeks ago there was a petition started on the web asking Four Paws Inc to recall this toy until they correct the single hole issue.

my word
For over 25 years, I have misspelled the word "this". It always comes on "sh_t". I have had to put it in my word correct key. My fingers just refuse to type THIS.
The word we should be using here is
God teaches us to be accountable one to another.

Christians are also accountable to one another. In 1 Corinthians chapter 12, we read that Christians are all part of the same body - the body of Christ - and each member needs or belongs to the other. This Scripture suggests the importance of strong accountability between Believers. It is important for every Believer to have at least one other person in which to confide, pray with, listen to, and encourage.

Galatians 6:1-2 gives a helpful principle, "Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." If your accountability friend has done something contrary to the Bible, you are called to confront him gently, forgive him, and comfort him. It also admonishes you to consider yourself because no one is above temptation.

Whatever, I think you just need to have that last word
so obviously there is nobody left in your little world to argue with.  You really made my point with your response.  IF you didn't work, there would be no savings and all the extra things that you do with your savings would be gone, so see?  You DO need to work just like the rest of us.  If not, then quit and give your job to somebody who does need it, that way you can sit home and do your nails and eat bon-bons.  Happy Holidays to you, "Honey"
Ah, I get it - let's play WHO GETS THE LAST WORD!
LMAO!!!!

Go ahead and take your little victory for the day - I know you're just itching to.

Can't wait to see your reply - and thank you for proving me correct in advance!

LMAO!!!!!
Are we not allowed to say the D word or something?
lol! Even the new pizza hut commercial disses both Domino's and Papa Johns - have you seen it? Hysterical. Have to say that Pizza Hut does take the prize for best pizza, hands down IMO.
I'm guessing that's another word for ...sm
what my husband calls a sidewinder.  Ewwww.  All the males in his family do it.
I have one word for Stern
SMARMY!
The word means to
water something down, not meaning neuter. IF you have a concetrated solution, you can put water in and that would so call neutralize it. Two completely different words.
OMG pls get over yourself...one word capped...s/m
think U should *go to bed* (your own words to that poster) and what makes you think that the poster was a *she*?  Awfully assumptive of you.
One word- groody
NM
*Alcohol* is the key word here - sm
and reeking of it is definitely a red flag. How would they get to the lake? By car? Alcohol and cars = trouble. Also, alcohol and water are a bad combination as well. If you're still on the fence about it, you could call the friend's mother and ask if the father is going or not. Chances are she's heard this question before..........
that word should be altar...duh! nm

Actually, I did ask that...plus a swear word or two.

I can have such a potty mouth sometimes...I swear, sometimes I sound like a sailor!

Anyway, back on subject here...I did ask my brother and sister in law about that and they told me she had been on the pill since she was 13!!  Again, rendered me just about speechless except for the F bomb, which was all I could really manage.  No apparent worries of STDs or just plain 'ol self-esteem and self-respect.

They (the parents) completely lost my respect years ago.  At least the youngest out of the 3 has a chance.  She sees how messed up the whole situation is and knows the key to success isn't what's in her pants.  She's just staying low, staying on the honor roll, and has her sites set on pre-Vet, which is oh so totally too cool for school.  She's the only one of the 3 that ever liked hanging out with me, so I take that as a HUGE compliment....either that or she really is "not right."

Thanks for the encouraging word.
Sasha is at the oncologist right now, getting a dose of chemo for lymphoma. The biggest worry was that her calcium was up at 18, but they got it down where they could give her the chemo.

Hopefully she will respond well.
Cedric is so depressed about her being away that he wouldn't eat this morning. He got up on my bed and tried to wrestle with me.

I am watching CNN and no word there. nm

One word - acidophilous!
That worked for me in about a week. I have always gotten yeast infections at the drop of a hat. That is until I started taking acidophilous. Give it a try. Hope it helps! :-)
you said the "C" word. awwwwww

How long did it take you to look up the word?

Sorry, I over-reacted to that word sm
I have seen too many little kids caught in the crossfire. Your brother needs to set some rules in his home and protect his kids. This woman sounds like she's not too bright. She could get killed over there and/or get a disease. Who would want her back in their bed after that kind of a setup. The whole thing sounds like a sinister plot in a crazy movie. Who knows who she is involved with? And what is a married woman doing on such a site, never mind your brother becoming part of the action by corresponding with these people. Something is very wrong here and apparently you see it in a different light. It's sick to me to even think about it. You sound as though you are smart enough to see through it. You must be upset to come in here with it, and I don't see anyone making a positive situation out of it. I am not going to post anymore about it and don't want to hear anymore about it. I just hope the kids are safe and your brother smartens up. This is not a healthy situation, end of story no more to say. Sounds fishy. Hope she's not doing it for the money as she's opening up Pandora's box, not to mention putting her kids in danger if it is a foreign exchange for who-knows-what? Too mysterious for me. Child advocate is what you should be right now, think about it more, please. Disease, corruption, struggling family being taken advantage of? Wake up, please! No MORE on this from me. Good-bye. Next?
Thats a new one. Being called the "T" word for being
x
How about a D word? Dictionary.
s
What is this word genetiv you keep using?
Do you mean genitive case?
nobody used the word wrong.
I said it was ironic.
Sorry, I said the "s" word in my post - sm
I think I got the working at home to be with children post kicked off the board.  My apologies.
Word 2007
For more, Word 2007 is a lot different as far as auto correct and things I commonly used. I would rather stick with 2000 if at all possible.
word manglers

LOL!!!!  Here's another little tidbit:  My mom cannot say 'dog pound'- she calls it the 'dog pond'...

ooh...that is a bad word in our house!
I have trouble dealing with the day-to-day rudeness of people out in public. I have too many urges and have to bite my tongue.

I actually shop online for most of my stuff. I am one of those people that get irritated if my trip to the grocery store lasts more than 30 minutes, so I think it is best for everyone involved that I stay home on Black Friday.
In a word? OAMC sm
See the link.

Here you will find all sorts of "mini plans" for specific kinds of meat. There are breakfast plans, muffin plans, snack bar plans, potato plans, pork plans, beef plans, ground beef plans, chicken plans, soup plans and single serve plans.

These smaller, more flexible plans don't include 3 days of cooking for an entire month, which most of us cannot do. These can be frozen in portions that are for one or two. Plus, they would offer you both loads of variety. Even a breakfast sandwich for lunch or dinner can work and I have done it.

You won't waste food so much, you'll eat better and save money. I like them because I don't do as much cooking versus the benefits of better meals.
Afraid is not really the word....
I'm not sure what is but I am in such a midst of unknown and my age is CONSTANTLY on my mind, but only because I feel like I should have done so much more by now. I am not old by any means, (turn 28 next month) but I am heartbroken about it. Only because I just started doing the single thing, going out, having fun... I moved across the country last month... My mom always wants me to come back and settle down, get a "real" job because MT is not going to be around forever...

I just feel like I wish I did all this stuff when i was in my early 20s, not my late 20s.

When I was younger (just a few years ago) I really wanted a family and a house and a husband... now I dont care for those things. I still want them some day, but I don't feel the need like I once did. I just feel like my time is running out in the next few years but there is no end in sight to how i feel now (so much freedom!)

What I am truly afraid of is this: My biological clock not ticking ever again...
Last word was "snow".
xx
He says it is because I said a curse word sm
he threw away something that he knew I really wanted to keep and I said it wasn't fair that he got to keep his sh*t and yet threw away mine after I had told him that same morning that I really wanted to keep it. He said me saying a curse word made him snap and that as long as I don't curse he will be fine. I was not yelling or in his face or antagonizing him in any way. In fact it was really a very benign-seeming argument until he started hitting me. I think the reason I can't seem to move on is that he was never really remorseful. He was upset because he thought he was going to get in trouble but he has never looked at me and really apologized for hurting me. He just keeps telling me I shouldn't keep holding a grudge.
When you can't use the "F" word in describing the
shoes, "aggressive" works quite well.
I do not believe one word of that about Shawn.
