I will leave that to God to decide as to who is right and who is wrong. after 12 years, I would suggest moving on. It is over and done with. IF he did it, he will pay his dues. IF he did not do it, as he says, he will be redeemed. Case closed.

Thanks for being judge and jury on my situation, since you know it so well...

a few facts for you:  She hardly led a horrible life, she was adopted by a fairly wealthy family and had a great life (this is straight from her, I'm not speculating), she has siblings that she loves very much.

For someone such as yourself to judge me as heartless is going a bit too far. She was the one who found me, contacted me one day out of the blue after finding EVERYTHING about me on the internet, even knew when and where I went on vacation to see my family, knew when my father passed away, etc. It was my decision to give her up for adoption and it should be my decision on when and where we meet. She wants info on her birth father, which I have a bit of, but it isn't my place to disrupt his life by giving her this info. I have no problem in having a relationship with her, but things like this need to start slowly, not just jump into the fire and hope not to get burned.

You can speculate and create a back story to your own liking, but until you have been in the situation, you wouldn't know a thing about it.

Oh sorry. I thought he was a lawyer and the other two guys' father was judge. sm
My bad, but either way daddy can get him out of it.
Glad you guys had a good time

My boys are probably too young to have been at a Crowes performance anyway, but I did think about how cool they would have been at school the next day.  Goin' in all groggy-eyed and wearing their "tour shirts" that he was insisting on, which was the other reason we didn't go . . . LOL!!!

Maybe in a few years

huh? Judge Judy's been a FAMILY COURT judge...
.
Jury is out
This is from the article I posted below under "Chuck is right."

"The factors that affect UV radiation exposure and research to date on the amount of sun exposure needed to maintain adequate vitamin D levels make it difficult to provide general guidelines. It has been suggested by some vitamin D researchers, for example, that approximately 5-30 minutes of sun exposure between 10 AM and 3 PM at least twice a week to the face, arms, legs, or back without sunscreen usually lead to sufficient vitamin D synthesis and that the moderate use of commercial tanning beds that emit 2-6% UVB radiation is also effective [11,28]. Individuals with limited sun exposure need to include good sources of vitamin D in their diet or take a supplement.

Despite the importance of the sun to vitamin D synthesis, it is prudent to limit exposure of skin to sunlight [31]. UV radiation is a carcinogen responsible for most of the estimated 1.5 million skin cancers and the 8,000 deaths due to metastatic melanoma that occur annually in the United States [31]. Lifetime cumulative UV damage to skin is also largely responsible for some age-associated dryness and other cosmetic changes. It is not known whether a desirable level of regular sun exposure exists that imposes no (or minimal) risk of skin cancer over time. The American Academy of Dermatology advises that photoprotective measures be taken, including the use of sunscreen, whenever one is exposed to the sun [83]."
Jury Duty
I've been called just once and because I used to work for attorneys, I was good friends with the Judge and I couldn't serve. I'd love to, though.
Jury duty in Idaho (sm)
In Idaho they go by driver's license and voter registration so if they don't get you one way they'll get you another I guess. They would miss a lot of people if they only went by voter registration. I have included a link to a page that explains it if you want to check it out. Maybe some states or counties are different, but I bet they probably all do things pretty much the same. Of course maybe this is good for you, it means you were both right, sometimes that's a good way to end a debate amicably.

And who shows up for Jury Duty

I went to Jury Duty months ago.  A judge came in the Jury Duty chambers and told us about the lack of a true system in Russia.  He personally visited Russia and interviewed their judges and prisoners.  Thus, be grateful you live the US. Be grateful you can speak your uncompassionate words.

Anyway in Michigan Jurors show up 47% of the time.  Kinda frightening given the judge's comment who is present for court every single day:

Long story short:  A rapist was let go because potential jurors don't show up.  The case was dismissed.  That's really quite sad.

Please no matter no state you are in...........go to Jury Duty.

Same here. I served on Federal Jury once, so

when I get summons for local court, I put that down. Plus, since we had a car stolen, all my jewelry and clothing (we were moving at the time), and a son assaulted, I usually get turned down for county jury duty.

I did like serving that one time and would do it again, but if I didn't put down the above things and they found out, it would probably be a mistrial if they put me on an assault or theft jury.

How many times you been called for jury duty? sm
We have lived here for 10 years.  My husband has been called 4 times!  They have never called me.  He never gets selected when they find out he is prior military, but we know within a year or two he will get called again. He does not mind and has actually told me he would like to be selected and hear a case sometime.  It just makes me wonder, though, how often does everyone else get called?
I've been called twice and served on jury twice sm
in about 12 years. I would never try to arbitrarily get out of it. I think it is only right that we do our duty as citizens, but I noticed how many people got out of sitting. I found it interesting and it gave me a feeling of "connection" with our American heritage!
I had to go to jury selection today. I thought it was incredibly interesting.
I wonder how one goes about getting a job at the courthouse?  It all looked to intriguing.
Yeah, I just did jury duty, served on 2 trials in my small county court. There was a girl
did absolutely nothing. Good-looking, well-dressed young lady, may went out a few times (I'm sure to deliver a message or something), but other than that- absolutely nothing. What a job!. Am sure in my county at least, its all in who you know.

Good luck with your jury duty.
Geez...nm

There she goes again...geez. NM

Oh Please, Sorry I said anything. GEEZ
That was so long ago. So, you wish he did not survive? How do you know what Mary Jo's family is thinking anyway?
geez
It's a rolling pin, not the crown jewels. Honestly, and sorry if this comes across as mean, but you sound a little selfish to me. I just don't get that you're upset about someone borrowing something like that. There's enough crappola going on in the world today that you shouldn't get your knickers twisted in a knot of something so petty. Jeez.
Geez!
You don't have to be such a downer about it.  I guess you have never lost a child.  You might change your opinion if you had.   To have one more chance with my daughter would be beyond words.
geez
Give this poor woman a break.  She does not need QA for goodness sake right now.  Hope you day goes better tomorrow whom ever you are!
Geez, don't be so rough on each other here...sm
it's just a TV program. If you don't like what you see, don't watch it! Or even better, get a hobby or something that doesn't include so much TV!!
Geez, sorry I posted this...(OP)
Can't even share a bit of someone's good fortune without being flamed...whatta shame!
it was just an exaggeration geez
I still stand by, when i use my debit or credit card it's no less time than writing a check. "was the checker friendly today" "is this amount okay" "please sign here" or "do you want cash back" and then the final OKAY. And most people I see writing checks are elderly people, so I don't blame them. If you are in that much of a hurry then go at a time when there's NOT gonna be a line. geesh
Geez, how frustrating! sm
It may sound snotty, but I switched eye doctors just because the receptionists ignored me standing at the desk, but doting on the male that walked in the door behind me.  No way I would put up with what you did UNLESS he/she was an exceptional doctor.  If you really like this Dr., then always get the day's first appointment.  If you can, check out other places to compare.  I went to 3 dentists before deciding the first one was the best for me. Sorry you had such a rough experience.  The guy you went to needs a partner, and I don't' mean an intern.
Geez, again, GET A FREAKIN LIFE!
g
Geez, we're going to tell grade each other's
I think it's time to put this conversation to bed before it gets out of hand.
Oops, cont. from above.... But they do. Geez.

Geez is right and AnonMTis wrong.nm

Geez. I've never seen that price.

We have a produce store right down the street. They sell dairy, meats, breads, snacks, canned good, but the produce is what I go for.

Bananas are usually 3 lb. for $1, red peppers in the winter are 2 for $1, green 3 and sometimes 4 for $1, packaged radishes 3 bags for $1, lemons and limes 6 for $1, apples are $1 a basket, and globe tomatoes are 2 pints for $1. Fresh white mushrooms are 99 cents a pound and portabellos are $1.99 a pound (expensive in my eyes but fresh). cukes 4 for $1.  They have fresh zuchini, egglant, yellow squash, yellow and orange peppers, asparagus, fresh herbs, you name it. Oh, they did up the price on lettuce and celery. They used to be 2 for $1 and now they're $1 a piece. They sell potatoes loose or by the basket, usually no more than $1.50. A 50 pound bag of red or white potatoes last week was $11.95.

They also sell bread at 2 loaves for $1.75. It used to be 2 loaves for $1.25.

I love this store but if I don't get there as soon as they open, I can't get in. It gets packed and there's not a parking spot to be found. Gee, wonder why?

oh geez - get a life! it was a joke

Geez Ella, get a grip
She didn't say her husband was a monster, just that he would not let her give a permanent home to yet another dog. Maybe you'd trade your husband for a stray pit bull, but a lot of us wouldn't.

Geez, it's gotten HOT today anybody have a pool???
Well, we just got back from getting pool supplies.  This is our third summer, we used Baquacil the first 2 years, dh said we were switching to chlorine this year because it is so much cheaper!  Anybody done this before, I wanted to keep the Baquacil because of the grandbabies, but was just wondering about the switching.. any & all info appreciated.. tia.. gina
Oh geez folks, light up...
it was funny!
Geez.. these aren't videos. You don't know so why comment?
These are images of real women and children, in Africa and in our country, some living in extreme poverty, some dying of AIDS and malaria. It's not just a video.
why is everyone so mean on a monday? geez, how would you like to be shut up in a house never to go
i had a dog get attacked and killed about a month ago by another dog in my own fenced back yard. never seen the attacker dog before in my life nor again since the incident. you can't always protect your pets just like you can't always protect your children, but yet you have to give them some freedom. would you lock your children up in the house never to go outdoors because of the violence? i think not. the OP has a valid point and her SIL is being extremely disrespectful and careless with her dogs.

to the OP, i would tell MIL that she is responsible for those dogs while they are in "her care" and to do whatever it takes to keep them off your property. you have the right to protect you home, your property, and your animals. i'd get a bb-gun and shoot them until they learned to stay out of your yard.
GEEZ, I nearly fell out of my chair laughing!
I really do appreciate this laugh! LOL

Well, geez, I knew what a vibrator was called!

you use the word Geez and you put a frown face in post
nm
geez, see how nervous i am?? i can't even spell. i think i better quit working and go to sleep,
'
geez after reading all these posts I feel like I'm missing out on something good! LOL
I'm assuming you buy these toys online?
There is not but one judge. NM
x
not OP.....but......Judge Not

he's a judge
nm
To judge or not to judge
Sometimes I think it is REALLY difficult to go through life without being judgemental.

Judge Judy Says...
Just from what I've seen, if it is in your possession, then you assume due care and protection of the property. You are responsible. Doesn't matter if hubby was too tired to unload. I'd stil make a police report stating it was stolen from their home to document details. then I'd take them to small claims court. Sounds like if the situation were reversed, your sister would already have a lawyer!
judge not lest ye be judged I always say.....nm

Here we go again. Judge not, I'm not judging. I am following
that is how I can say what a store should and shouldn't sell!
judge not lest ye be judged..........

the judge....an embarrassment to many

I live in Florida and I am so ashamed of this judge on this case - the circus that HE seems to want with the media for his measley 15 minutes of fame.  It is very unfortunate because he makes all people of his culture/religion look REALLY bad.  I'm totally ashamed of him........

they tried to get rid of this judge in 2004...

Judge Seidlin Takes Center Stage In Smith Trial

(CBS) FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. He's known to be the no-nonsense judge sorting out the claims for Anna Nicole Smith's body, but Judge Larry Seidlin has left many wondering about him and his courtroom antics.

For the past two weeks, the international media has watched the Broward County judge's handling of the dispute over Anna Nicole's body.

"It's a piece of paper that's purported to be a will, that causes me to lose more hair than I have already lost," said Seidlin on Tuesday, as he looked at paperwork provided by Howard K. Stern's legal team.

Comments such as this one have some in the legal community questioning how the judge handled this case. Seidlin has more than 20 years of experience as a judge.

Some of the expressions he used when handling the case left him apologizing, such as when he referred to Anna Nicole's body last week as "my baby." He later apologized for that comment and has since taken a more serious stance when talking about the body.

"We want to give respect and peace to Ms. Smith's body," he said this week.

Nonetheless, this is not the first time that Seidlin's behavior has been questioned. In 2004, a poll of the bar association showed that 20 percent of lawyers didn't think he was qualified for the job, putting him at the bottom of the list of judges in the county.

Seidlin, a native New Yorker, paid for his way through law school by driving a taxi and was appointed in 1989 as a circuit judge. In 1978 he was elected as a county judge, making him one of the youngest judges to be elected, at age 28.

Okay, now what was up with the judge *crying*
I have never in my life seen or heard of a judge breaking down and crying like that. It just got more bizarre by the minute. I seriosly think he has some sort of mental disorder. WOW!
What about going on one of the judge shows?
I heard they pay the plantiff on the spot :)
