into schools which teach them very little of what they really need to learn. They have been lured in by the promises of big money, working at home while watching their kids, etc. etc. The profession has been swamped with new people looking for jobs who cannot do the job which is one reason (not the whole reason) that the wages have gotten so low. The folks need jobs, the MT companies are hiring them at very low wages because of their experience and its like a vicious circle.

It really does not pay anymore to get into the MT field. Too many MT companies and not enough qualified MTs to work for the companies. Also too many hospitals not utilizing their own MT departments but sending the work to the MTSOs. IT needs to be the newbie works in the hospital for several years and gets experience. Then when they have sufficient experience they go home to work, not start out working from home on production. Same old argument. I don't think its ever going to end.
