I need to know if any of you posters know of a company called Rapid Transcript of California (also called RTI); used to be called RTTS years ago.    I am checking around on their profile and business habits.  If you have any personal experience with them, please respond.

Rapid transcript
Anyone out there know anything about working for them?
I don't understand why everyone keeps letting Rapid Transcript advertise...SM
They have been doing this for years.  I had to nearly take them to court to be paid for two weeks worth of typing.  I can't believe that they are still getting away with this.  PLEASE, in the best interest of honest MTs looking for an honest day's wage, STOP ALLOWING THEM TO ADVERTISE ON THIS WEBSITE OR ANY OTHER MT JOB WEBSITE.  TIA
Anyone heard of a company called Transcription Inc?
Anyone heard of a company called Transcription Inc? Any info appreciated.
Has anyone heard of a platform called
NetCare (sp)?  I am currently working on Dictaphone EXText, but work is very slow today.  The company I worked for is going to set me up on this new platform so I can work on it when I don't have work on my primary account.  I had never heard of it, so I was just wondering.  Any opinions?
I've heard it called a "johnny" before. nm

If you are being hounded by a company called Technion Communications, go to their

website at the link below to be added to the do not call list.

It is our understanding that many MTs are being solicited at all hours of the day and night by this company.

I'd seen an ad on the job board several months ago for a company called Sierra....

not sure of the full name, but something like Sierra Legal Transcription, perhaps. Maybe you could still locate it on the archives on the job board.

There's a great company called Plantogen out of New Zealand.

Collision or comp doesn't matter. I called my insurance company
when I was hit by someone. I only had liability but their adjuster made sure I got the best deal out of it. My rates didn't go up either.
Heads up warning! A company called DictaCall posted a classified ad

Heads up warning! A company called DictaCall posted a classified ad
here yesterday claiming great cost savings. After researching the company, I have found that the company is overseas in India and is offering the identical rate structure as another US voice service.  There is absolutely no cost savings whatsoever and anyone using their voice system would be calling into a toll free number where the voice file would end up on a server in Calcutta, West Bengal, India.

What does this mean to you, the transcription service?
1. HIPAA compliance is compromised.
2. Your client information is at risk. Offshore entities can come in try to undercut you and take your business.
3. In case of outage, you're stuck if you can't get in touch with technical support.

I could go on, but I think you can probably see the same big problems that I see.

I am IL IC and have heard nothing about this. Company is in MO.

I have never heard of a company

doing that, but that does not mean that they won't.  Here are some obstacles to your idea:  1) To edit a report, you have to listen to the original dictation along with it.  It is not just reading the report.  It sounds like listening to dictation would be new territory for you.  It is not a piece of cake.  2) I don't know of any companies that would have enough dictation specifically regarding eye care coming through to keep you busy enough.  3) If you wanted employee status to earn benefits, you would most likely have to keep to a schedule which would mean you could not do the work in between patients then finish in the evening.  4) I don't think you could get your foot very far through the door without having to take a transcription test, which you most likely could not pass unless you have transcription experience.  5) Companies hire editors/QA because of the years of transcription experience they have under their belt.  I don't think your experience as an optometrist would qualify.

Good luck to you and your new practice.

I've never heard of a company having to pay
when they got out of TAT.   In the contract it states that TAT time is, and if consistently out of TAT is a negotiable point for renewal/cancellation of the contract, but no financial penalty to the company for not meeting it.  My company is out of TAT 80% of the time and rarely offer a bonus to work extra, though does occasionally offer bonus, more often just asks everyone to work 2 more hours.

I worked for Rapid (RTI)
Started in January and still have yet to be paid. I have quit and have filed against them in small claims court. They owe me over $1000.

Has anyone tried any online rapid refund tax services.....
Transcript USA
Any information on Transcript USA transcription company?  Thinking about taking job.
Transcript USA anyone worked for?

Has anybody worked or work for Transcript USA.  They seem to be a good company, but I can't find any info on I-net other than their site (good or bad). Just like someone else's opinion about them.

Transcript for Allergist
I have the chance to do some overflow work for an allergist on a short-term basis.  I've never done that type of medical transcription before.  I did listen to a sample tape, and it sounded like something I would be able to handle.   I was wondering if anyone here has done transcription for an allergist before and if it's a fairly easy speciality to adapt too.  I will get getting her macros and templates.
Has anyone heard of the company Trans-Scribe out of New Jersey
If so, any pro's or con's
Transcript US, Spheris, AccuStat

Does anyone have any current information about Transcript USA, Spheris, or AccuSTAT of Wisconsin?  I have13+ years and I'm looking to leave my current employer (six years at a national).  My eyes are swimming trying to figure out the ins and outs of these companies.

Thanks so much!!

Has anyone worked for Rapid Text? Any info would be great

The so-called "reality show" is the lowest form of so-called entertainment in recent years
I hate them. They've ruined TV.
It's time we all called NJ. I called

They can't provide anything in writing.

Nobody knows anything - keep telling you to call your supervisor.

I smell something worse than New Orleans coming from NJ.

I WASN'T GUESSING. I HEARD WHAT I HEARD VERY CLEARLY.
I don't even agree with what QA said, but they are QA. Question them, and your out the door.
What Company is This? I have been hired by a company that is sending a foot pedal.. Don't want t

Good of the company? As IC, I am my own company. Not my problem if she has problems as long as I do
:P
Accepted a job with a new company, gave two weeks notice to my old company..

Old company, let me go before two weeks was up.  New company, said they were having trouble getting me set up and my equipment ready, but they would pay me while I waited.  It's been a month, still no check from new company even though I was told it was "in the mail."  I have no income and am at a loss.

I have a signed offer letter from the new company, contracts, etc.  I applied for unemployment, but old company is saying I quit and technically I am currently employed with the new company!  New company is not returning calls or answering email.

What should I do!?!?!?!

I started sending my resume out today, but the process of getting a new job will take at least two weeks and I need money now to catch up on what I'm behind!

You don't want to work for this company. Call your current company and
tell them that you have decided against the new position and tell them that you would like to stay. It is cheaper for them to let you stay than to train someone new. A company who could be so tacky as the one you just spoke of is one you do not want to work for. You can rescind your resignation. If you are a good MT, they will be glad you did.
With my company, ICs use their own emails, employees have company email.

COMPANY INQUIRIES belong on Company board, please!

....3 months later my old company rehired me; can you return to your 1st company?
nm
Local radiology company, not transcription company
who has only 5 transcriptionists and are not hiring at this moment. We all work at home and get great benefits, no insurance out of pocket and 22 days paid vacation in the first year, after that it goes up. I feel very fortunate to have found them, but again I chose them because they did not do production, so now that they are, I'm a little disappointed.
I think all new mts should be called
mt wannabe (that's me) I wannabe, but feel like I will never get this down ever.... my job is so hard that my day is such a breeze !!!!!!
he just called nm
nmn
I called them
with my complaints and filed an Employee Complaint form but they say that there are no problems, they are only getting isolated complaints -so EVERYONE who has a complaint needs to call them and follow up with a filed written Employee Complaint.
seems to me if he called YOU, he should already know your name...sm
just my opinion. I hate these calls and mostly never answer until it becomes three or four times a day, then I answer and I am not nice. they usually do not call back after that. It has been relatively quiet around here for a while now...knock on wood. lol
Can you tell me what else it's called please?

That might explain why I didn't get such good results on my search.

that's called....
the old bait and switch!!  They ALL do that!  :(
They are called.....sm
They are referred to as non-word utterances. And if you want to belong to a forum that is not just MT, I own one at Google Groups called the Legal, Medical, and General Transcription forum. The URL is http://groups.google.com/group/Legal-Medical-General-Transcription?hl=en
Yes, I have what are called
Druscens and I do not see them, only can be seen with the lamp exam physician does. These can be started on macular degeneration. My vision is excellent but knowing what I do, make sure I take eye vitamin, eat leafy greens, no smoking and wear sunglasses out always.
You called her? LOL.
x
Have you called your QA to ask about it?
x
That was not called for.
Your are totally wrong for berating this person the way you did.
I was called....sm
but called and told them I was sick. I wasn't really but how do they know? I have other things to do.
I called about it . . .
and had information sent to me.  From the commercials I thought it was a non-invasive procedure, but it is very similar to a traditional facelift.  They do say the incisions are smaller, so healing is quicker.  They also say the scars are less noticible.  The before and after photos look incredibly good to me.  I'm still considering it, and if I wasn't such a chicken I might just do it.
Have you ever just called a

business and just interviewed them before you applied so they could interview you?  Does that make sense.?   I may have an in-house transcription job.  They told me that everything was looking in my favor, but they are still interviewing and will let me know for sure Friday.  They offered a pretty good wage and I would take it but if I can find something closer to home even if a little less pay I would go for that too.   I have been looking into businesses that have nothing to do with transcription.  I am thinking about calling the local banks and seeing if there are any entry-level positions available for data entry, administrative assisting, clerk.  I don't have an accounting degree of business degree, just extensive computer knowledge that transcription requires. I really don't know what to ask for to tell the truth.  The local banks never advertise for help but I do see new people in there from time to time.

I have also been looking to get my CNA certificate renewed which I may just do.  I was going to call the nursing homes here and see what the starting pay would be, what the patient/aide ratio is, what the hours would be like.

To tell the truth, I am not making it with these home jobs.  I have already been through 3 companies.  I never had a work history like that before.  Before I came home, I stayed with 1 place for 8 years, then another place for 6 years before that.  I hate jumping around and most of all, I hate babysitting my computer for work.  I want 8 hours then be done.
