I'd write them a letter demanding a refund unless they can prove you left it dirty.  Their proof would be that they would have had to have taken pictures showing the supposedly dirty condition.  I'm willing to bet they didn't do this.  If they don't pay ou back within the "x" dates you specify in the letter (which is sent certified, return receipt) then file a claim against them in small claims court.  Be sure to demand that they send proof of the supposed bills they paid for cleaning that unit.


In the future whenever you move from a rental property always take pictures of it in the condition it is in upon moving out.   Unfortunately what happened to you is a common thing - a lot of landlords claim dirt as a means to charge extra fees.   Having pictures and/or a video showing it was clean is your defense.
