to what the others have told you, but I know I read this post to my 17-year-old daughter as an example of life choices NOT to make. I don't mean to be harsh, but I wish women would be smarter about the men they choose and the timing of their motherhood. And while there are no guarantees, it statistically tends to work out better to have a decent dating period, a good 1 to 1-1/2 year engagement, and then some time as a couple before having kids.
There's no place in your life or the lives of your children for a violent man. You can make it on your own and being raised by one good healthy happy mother is better than a chaotic coupling with violence and abuse. Good luck to you.
