Send me the link to the ad on Equipment board. (SM)
I will discuss this with the Administrator and see if at least we can prevent her from posting anymore equipment for sale.

Back-up equipment
I have a back-up laptop, just in case.  Good thing, too.  Just a couple of months after I got laptop, PC had to go to the shop, lol.  I don't use a call-in system but if I did, I would probably get back-up. I figure if you have the back-up stuff, just in case, you will usually never need it.  If you don't have it, you will wish you did.
I have had that happen once. Never got equipment back either. sm
I didn't get my equipment back, but this MT did do work and it stated in my contract last check was held pending return of equipment so guess what, she never got her last check either! So basically I got my equipment expenses covered but still it is just wrong. Same as stealing in my book and you should figure out a way to prosecute or take to court. You could do something as my contract mentioned above, but if they never actually start working it would not work for that. I agree with the other poster, you will have to send them a return envelope or box with shipping paid to get better responses, but you didn't state if you did that or not so maybe you did.
is this with a mobile home company by chance? nm
:
VR company? Not when the MT company owns its own VR equipment. n/m.

If you have any company equipment or
supplies, you might want to mention when and how they will be returned. Some employers withhold the final check until they have everything back.

As far as giving an explanation, I don't think that details are necessary.
Most companies have an at-will employment policy, which works both ways.

Good luck in your new job!
W9, equipment, driving back and forth, paper, ink, utilities. They'll get a 2 wk notice

Get samples. Proof your work. Have back up equipment. Meet TAT.

See if you can trade with a equipment company.

great company for equipment
If you need headsets, foot pedals, or other transcription equipment, give C.H.A.R.T.S. a try. They have always been super good to deal with and fast. I called yesterday morning, they helped me figure out which generic foot pedal I needed, and it arrived this morning, and I did not pay a huge amount for overnight ship, just a regular cheap drop ship price. I just love this place!

Maybe I will send it back.
Yes, maybe that's what I will do!! Tell them that they might need it more than me when all the lawsuits are over.
Wouldn't you love to send it back and say
"and it's a good think you use YOUR spellchecker, Ms. Boss Lady!"

I've gotten these kinds of emails numerous times and it steams the heck out of me.
Why can't you send the notes back by email
them in the hospital?  That's what I used to do.  Zipped and encrypted the files and they received and printed them at the hospital.
DH ordered it and I made him send it back unopened
I think that was 2005 edition - using 2004 which I found at the time (2004-2005) not to have a lot of the drugs and actually Google and the many, many drug sites were more helpful.  Agree with Wise below.
no, i don't use template features. use hypersend to send back. nm

Well you gave her a fair chance, asked her to stop. It's a shame she didn't take the chance. n

Had it both ways. Send it back the cheapest way and eat the cost. You don't want to be fighting f

I would just supply one digital copy, either send the work back
via an FTP site or email attachment or whatever, or keep addending to a CD, but let them keep their own archives. And why can't they print when you deliver the CD or the work in digital format? I don't do any printing at all. Everything goes back digital and they keep their own copies. Once I bill for the month, everything gets deleted, as it should be under HIPAA.
Just say it's not going to work out, quit, and send the stuff back. Not like you'll be using t

save the emails and send them back when the corrections are inconsistent.

I wish my company would send me anything.
I have worked for a lot and never received zip
I don't see how any company can dictate what you send to QA
That is preposterous to think that you can have say how many to send to QA!! At any given time, ANY doctor can dictate something that you would question or something you have no idea what it is. Noise, ESLs, mumbling.. just to name a few factors involved. All that does is tend to make the MT quess in order to keep down a QA count. The company I work for has NO limits on what goes to QA. They would rather it go to QA than guess. Under no circumstance, would they say to NOT send something to QA. You can't control the doctors, PA-C, NP, etc. to make them dictated where all could understand every word!
What happens if company doesnt send

My company does send short tests--one pagers.
I've done some incredibly long tests in my day, too, and I've seen some scoring that is totally ludicrous. From one recruiter to others, whoever does your scoring, remind them that these people aren't sitting for their CMT exams. Commas, as a rule, don't kill.
Need to practice with an online MT test - which company sites have one without having to send infonm

Try to get back with the old company.

Call the company back now that DSL is
available, and get that job!  Tell them you thought you'd contact them again since you now have DSL.  MT companies always have openings.  Sometimes you have to do a little chasing down to land a job.
Did you ever go crawling back to a company?

Were you ever fired or quit an MT job and applied to that company again after you saw the grass wasn't always greener on the other side? Did the company take you back? I'm thinking about re-applying at a place I left.

laid-back company?
Well yes I did clinical & Basic 4 for a very laid-back company in L.A. for 7 years & it was great, after they got to know me. But I finally got laid off & worked for MedScribe (Jax, Fla.) doing Rad for 6 months until last week. The first time my production got a little low, BAM they ended my contract & that was IT. So it would be nice to find a little more laid-back company again. If you want a referral bonus, I have 17 yrs MT experience, type 90+ wpm, & I'm available & looking.
I can't believe this. I just quit a good company and went BACK to MQ and now this? Oh, Lord! nm
nm
You are probably right. If I were looking for a job, I would not take the chance with this one. nm

Is your dad by any chance (sm)
a less than happy camper when he wakes up in the morning? Maybe moving a little too fast in the morning? Maybe Snoopy is avoiding dad when dad's adrenaline is pumping, but doesn't see a problem when dad is kicked back and relaxed.
Then there's the off chance that...
The person who posted wasn't "Joan Berre," but was trying to potentially cause trouble for her. I would hate to think that anyone would do that, but it's possible.
I have a chance (m)
to go to work in-house for $17/hour. The problem is it's a 2 hour drive each way for me. I have a car that gets great gas mileage. Would you do it?
By any chance was it... (sm)
Proficient Transcription? There have been numerous complaints about this so-called company. They may be under a different name by now but the owner's name was Donna. She had people give her money to buy equipment they could buy themselves and then would give them next to nothing in terms of work and then not pay for what they did. Just curious if this was the same.
IMO...not a chance. No way, no how.
I beat VR with my own standards and templates, but it's still nowhere near that. On the most excellent of days with the perfect dictators and best templates I can get 550/hour. But again..that's a lot of template/expander help.
Not a chance....
Especially if termination was through no fault of your own, and was due to their own internal structuring.

Make their loss, your gain, and don't look back.

You can do better.
By chance is this MT Daily?
.
Give MQ a chance...
Isn't it just possible that after all is said and done, and after all the changes, MQ may very well be a much better company to work for? Perhaps closing all these millions of branches (and the wildly different management styles, i.e. Columbus versus Amherst) will result in a more streamlined, consistent company where there is consistency across the board? Trimming the fat can be a good thing, U know. Personally I think Amherst is on borrowed time - a soon-to-be relic of the bad old days when nothing was done the same way from branch to branch. After all the dust settles, MQ just MIGHT be an excellent place to work again - but at least we should hear them out and give them the chance to prove it. Just my 2.5 cents...
Any chance it is something along the line of... sm
glioependymal cyst, meningeal cyst,
Are you by any chance from Alaska?

Or do you mean just because it gets dark early because of the time change.  I've heard of people in Alaska with the night being so long using that light for depression, but that's really the only time I've heard of it.

That is good. I would never take a chance sm
with my pets.  Cats are felines.  Dogs are canines.  Two different species.  What works on one "could" kill the other in some instances.  Just check pet poison control centers.   Maybe same chemicals in some instances, but different formulas entirely.
I had a chance to sign up.
My ex-employer was into it.  There were some local people who did well with it and were in that upper group.  Also, I had the opportunity to check out some of the tapes without buying.  I still never found the money to get started.  Now I am glad I didn't.
No. She had her chance and didn't win.
Now if she's unable to try out due to an injury, that's too bad. No one else would be given the luxury of not having to try out and still getting on the team. She already got to to go the Olympics, so give someone else a chance!
Do you by any chance use Benadryl or
anything containing diphenhydramine?  I don't have RLS, but when I use the above to help me sleep I have it really bad.  Just in case you do use it, I thought I'd let you know.  Good luck!
I agree with you. You only get one chance
to make a first impression. If 5 people come in for the job all w/the same credentials, I would pick the one w/the neatest appearance. At K-Mart he's probably going to doing something where customers can see him. I insist on my son wearing clean, pressed slacks or jeans and a shirt w/a collar.
If given the chance would you go hourly or ... sm
stay production if the pay per hour was around $15 with no opportunity to make more per hour or as an employee with incentive and all you were making a minimum of 9.5 cents per line?  Is it better to make a little less but know exactly what you are going to make each week or just go for the ability to make more and hope you are able to stay productive.  Thanks.
I would jump at the chance....

Give the kid a chance....

she has to start somewhere. If you are as good as you say then you will be an excellent trainer for her and will be rewarded for teaching her the ropes. IMHO you sound kind of threatened by this and I have to wonder why. Be nice and help her along in becoming great transcriptionist.

Would you by chance work for

I speed them up every chance I get!
