In Reply to: Do you believe parents should GIVE their teenagers a nice new car? - SM

but apparently I'm the only one in my small town who feels that way. Your daughter is right about the cars in the school parking lot because in my small town I know everybody and there are a whole bunch of kids with late model or new cars, much nicer than mine, sorry to say it but its true. Kids now expect it. My kids got good, dependable used cars. We made the down payment and cosigned, after that they were on their own.

The part of your post about kids making their parents feel negligent is so common now days. Why is that such a prevalent attitude? Too many kids think their parents OWE them the best of everything. Have we raised a generation of selfish little monsters??? I know I sucker right in to that mind set too. I feel if I'm not helping my kids out constantly I'm not doing my duty as a parent, Heck they're all grown and gone and I'm still shellin out. Its really starting to frost my buns, too.
