My son was homeschooled through his high school years, went on to college, is very successful. He just wasn't being challenged enough at his school...even the school counselor said they just couldn't offer enough challenging advanced courses for kids that need them and that's why they lose a lot of kids...burn out and boredom.

My son is a well rounded individual, he is involved in a lot of outside activities, has a close circle of friends, and is enjoying his life.

I talked with a lot of local people before taking this step. Many professionals homeschool their children in my town as well... I don't see them losing out. Unfortunately, there are those that wouldn't touch the situation and tend to voice their opinion without knowing the facts.
