I swear, the people who manage
this site should put a button right under  'main board' that says 'MQ Gripe Board' so that the seemingly hundreds of disgruntled MQ'ers can gripe and  argue all day long and the rest of us would be spared.  Every page of this board is filled with arguments between the MQ gripers and the few MQ folks who claim they are happy.  At some point you'd think the (MQ people) would realize that non MQ'ers don't want to hear this stuff every single day, all day long.
Other than Slim Fast has anyone had any luck with OTC diet products or diet pills? nm

protein
Also soy, tofu, beans all are protein.  Some great veggie burgers in the frozen section, veggie chicken, veggie hot dogs, veggie chicken.
OT: do you lack moisture or protein?

Your hair, that is.

Got this neat little trick at the hairdresser yesterday. Cut one strand of hair and put it in a small bowl filled with water. Wait about a minute or two. If the strand continues to float at the surface, you're lacking moisture. If it sinks to the bottom, you need protein.

Kind of helps you decide the right shampoo and/or conditioner to buy.

calcium -
Sorry, I just saw that you are looking for "injection" medication. Scratch my last post.
Calcium supplement
How about Plaquenil? I work a rheumatology account, and they frequently use this for supplement. See info. below.

PLAQUENIL (hydroxychloroquine sulfate) tablets contain 200 mg hydroxychloroquine sulfate, equivalent to 155 mg base, and are for oral administration.

Inactive Ingredients: Dibasic Calcium Phosphate, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Magnesium Stearate, Polyethylene glycol 400, Polysorbate 80, Starch, Titanium Dioxide.

Calcium + magnesium and Vitamin D
Muscles require these nutrients. Essential for heart muscle. Fatigue and inadequate mineral intake especially if you're a soda pop/caffeine drinker and meat eater -- all deplete the bones of calcium and when that happens, the body takes what it needs from other sources.
Minimum daily requirement for women is 1200mg/day. Calcium ought to be in a citrate, maleate or asporotate form (higly absorbable). Excellent combination to help get good restful sleep without sleeping pills, etc. AND to combat restless legs.

The only injection for calcium that I am aware of --sm
BONIVA. He may be simply be saying ---calcium, DayQuil??
Coral calcium, glucasamine chondrointon, Q-10
and a good brisk half mile walk every day!
B vitamins
Thanks for the info...every little bit helps
vitamins
Try herbal supplements along with a multivitamin and extra calcium. Ginseng and ginkgo biloba are both good for mental alertness. Also good stretching exercises and the old standby a cup of coffee.
Does anyone take vitamins or OTC supplements?
I am out and going to the store to get more and wondered if anyone else takes them and if they seem to help or it's a placebo thing going on.  What brands do you trust if you do take them.
oil of olay vitamins
Has anyone tried the Oil of Olay vitamins packs (the ones with the multivitamins)?  I was wondering how the multivitamin tablet compared to regular multivitamins.  If it is comparable I would like to try them since they have the other skin supplements in the packs.
Andrew Lessman vitamins are the best.

Carpal tunnel - know I saw post about vitamins...
or such that helped carpal tunnel without surgery or such.  I am really having problems with my right wrist and it is majorly affecting my production.  I do not want surgery or such, so was going to try vitamins or exercise first, any suggestions?  Thanks.
Vitamins that make us mentally alert?
Which vitamin supplements can we take to make us more mentally alert as an MT?  Thanks
Can a male patient be taking prenatal vitamins??
I've never heard of this before and don't find anything initially on Google.
Carpet cleaner? Flea spray? Chemicals used inside his car? Restaurant food? New vitamins? Cold

I could swear I had one say
The patient is tolerating her clothes.

Had the boss listen and she agreed, that's what it sounded like.
That would be me. You are very welcome. I swear by it. nm
.
Nope...I swear - s/m

Deals that big cannot, CANNOT, be done in a sneaky fashion.  It just doesn't happen.  I worked in investor relations for many years before my stint in MT and I promise you, if you read the fine print and follow shareholder's meetings and the daily stock news, you should never be surprised.

Not directed at you, but sometimes I think MTs love catastrophic thinking.  It's simply not realistic in this context.

I swear I do not change my name. Seriously.
I don't lie. If you don't want to believe anything I say in other posts, believe this. I did not change my name to Zippy or Frankie Boy or any of the other people who are responding to me!
You swear to never have another surgery sm
because you know exactly what they will be doing to you.
some swear by, but I think my hands are too big.

Voc. Rehab. let me try one out when they were helping me get my ergonomics together, and I knew right away I could never get used to it.  I have rather "fat" fingers, though, and I think that was part of it.  If you have longer, thinner fingers, it might be right up your alley.

You can rent one (which can then be applied to the purchase price, I think?) for awhile from this site to try it out, rather than outright buying it.

Are we allowed to swear? I can't believe that!
If that is the quality of the transcription they are getting back, how on earth are they passing audits with hospitals?

I just do not get it.
I swear they are skimming off us somehow.

How do you prove it though unless you are on the "inside" workings of the beast?  It's like the old Bugs Bunny where they were splitting up cash or something and the swindling character said, "One for you, one for me.  One for you, one two for me.  One for you, one two three for me...etc."

swear words in the spellchecker would be because(sm)
sometimes doing psychiatry notes (or any other for that matter) the MD will dictate exactly what the patient says.  If that quote contains swear words, the spellchecker will not pick these up unless it's been programmed that that they are spelled right.  It get's tedious having swears pop up all the time so they go into the spellchecker.
I swear I could hug you right now. Evidently my expander
left past the letter D and I was trying to replace because I have been using it for forever!!  Thank you so, so much!!!!!!!
I swear a troll or someone just throws these Q's out to see
how close were paying attention to posts
I used to swear by Sylcount but recently
to Practicount. You get the same counts as you do in Sylcount but you don't have to save the files in the rich text format for it to work. I found it annoying to have to save everything in RTF and my version of MS Word would always ask if I wanted to save it in RTF, and I'd have to answer "yes" to two different pop-ups before it would even save. There might have been a way around that, but I found Practicount worked just as well without that bother so I switched.
I swear I had a neurology doctor

who would dictate into the late hours, sometimes almost hour-long dictations, and I could periodically hear the cork coming out of a bottle of wine...guess we are not the only ones that are tempted

I swear mine does a few lines... (sm)
And then sniffs all the way through the report, he is constantly changing his mind. You know how you can just tell when someone is "under the influence"? I would almost bet this account that this one gets all coked up before he picks up the phone! I have never done one of his reports where he is not trying to inhale the room in between sentences...
Yes, and I swear I've gotten viruses

from tech support screwing around.  I now have a new one, and no, I will never work on platform again or have anyone be on my computer through a meeting.  If it's not FTP work using Word, no way will I let a company mess around.

I think they do more harm than good!

I swear, I just transcribed Bill Cosby! sm
you know that voice that Bill Cosby does, kinda sounds like he's drunk?  Well, this doc I just transcribed sounded like that!!! and it's workers' comp, no less. Just had to vent a little!  It's still too early for all this!
Hurry, watch the news & I swear

You will see my last dictator dictating from a chopper with at least 10 choppers around him, landing in the middle of a Rolling Stones concert notifying the fans that Mick is sick and won't be there

just don't know how better to describe this background noise that is obviously distracting to him...oh, please add,  oops change that...uhh, hmm where was I   I have a migraine now and I don't even know what one feels like and from the looks of my que, I'm going in for round 2

Sorry I did proof my post but I swear things moved around
Sorry for the typos.
Well, my husband and I paid 58% last year in taxes. I swear! sm
I won't tell you our gross, but it's above average, we both work 70+ hours a week and we are struggling to pay our bills - parents of 3 young children.

I am scared to death of Democrats being back in office. GW at least wants tax breaks for families like ours. If the Dems are in office I'm afraid we'll be taxed more to help pay for people like my niece who had babies beginning at age 13 and has never had a job in her life. How can this NOT outrage anyone - yet I know there are people out there who tell me to get over it, it's life, those other people are 'entitled' to our money. It's absolutely vile and disgusting.
if you live among trashy people, low income people, people w/o goals or direction,
content to just get by, you by default become a part of a group. "people" have decided to group trailer people as trash. that is because there are enough people in that group to earn the title and even if you aren't trash, you are categorized by others. did i think i was trash in lower class neighborhood surrounded by people who drank and fought all weekend? no but i knew i wasn't staying and did not try to pretend that all the fools in the neighborhood were just nice folks who ended up where they were because high horse snobs deemed their neighborhood low class. people for the most part live exactly where they belong because they don't want to educate themselves, they don't mind "trash" around them and they don't want to be bothered trying just a bit hard to extract themselves from that world. they justify everything to themselves i guess saying everyone who doesn't like their lifestyle is a snob and the comedians (Jeff Foxworthy/Chris Rock, etc) who make fun of them are just ill-informed.

As for me, I fought hard to get out and don't even want to look back. It amazes me people stay for generations.
I am laughing so hard, I swear I fixed my 'pot' (for potassium) expander, and it came out pota
xx
try a raw diet
First have your dog's liver enzymes checked, also the pancreas. Someone told me that toxins come out through the dogs ears, especially labs. Then, check into a raw diet for your lab. Believe it or not, chicken wings, chicken necks, or turkey necks - raw - and raw fruits and vegetables (no onions or grapes). My sister's lab has pancreas problems, his ears smelled awful, and the vet was no help. She checked out raw diets and her dog has been doing fine for the past two years. Her lab has the most beautiful white teeth, no smelly ears, very little gas, lost weight, and is happy. As a last resort, try BeanO. (PS, if you want to stick to a kibble food, try Flint River Ranch - that is what I feed my dog).
Okay! So much for my diet! I'm going to try it!
  Sounds yummy!
diet !
Your way sounds a lot more appetitizing than the Healthy Choice dinners I am living on!  SO boring, but I have lost 10 pounds in 10 days!  Only 18 to go!  And I too am walking 2-3 times a day which really seems to help.  Once with the dog (he is pokey!) and then by myself so I can walk fast.
Diet
Funny you asked that because with my medical background, I know that what you eat can have a big influence on how you feel. I also have hypoglycemia so I should be eating well.

I honestly do not have an appetite. I didnt eat anything at all yesterday and the day before I ate 4 chicken nuggets from Wendys.

This morning I feel a little hungry so I will probably eat some rice and black beans. I have that and oatmeal. Its cheap and filling.

I used to eat like crazy... now I don't eat at all. I used to get sick when I felt kind of dizzy from not eating after a few hours. Now I've gotten used to the feeling and having really low blood sugar makes it hard for me to concentrate on one thing but I can't get food stamps because I don't have any kids or anything. All well... Anyway, that's what I've been eating.
Meat in your diet?
That is a misconception that we need meat in our diets, we do not need meat at all, there are many other sources of protein out there to substitute for the meat, please go to the many vegitarian sites for more information.
try a low sodium diet

When I was first diagnosed, I went on a strict 2 gm sodium diet.  It is amazing how much salt is in foods.  My ENT gave me a small booklet I could fit in my pocket to carry around with me to count sodium.  It reduced the amount of fluid in my ears, which lessened the vertigo and the tinnitis.  The shocking part was that I lost 20 pounds without trying!  I never went hungry at all.  I felt better than I had in years.

I have also found that keeping my sinuses clear helps with a lower level of tinnitis.  Wine intensifies it

good luck,

d~

I have never tried the diet, but I know lots who

have, including my DH.  I have never known anyone to keep the weight off once they come off the diet.  While there have been various studies as to healthiness/unhealthiness of the diet, I don't see how eating high fat foods came be healthy.  I do know that the diet throws your body into a ketosis, which gives you terrible breath.  When my DH was on the diet I asked him not to talk while in the car because his breath smelled so bad.  He worked with a woman who said she wondered why people would back away from her when she talked.

I think low carb is a good idea, but I don't think high fat is a good idea.  I'm not a nutritionist, just makes sense.

Diet Board please
nm
How long have you been on the diet?
?
OTC diet pills
My daughter was able to lose about 10 pounds on Dexatrim - that is before they had to change the formula - our best results have been with Atkins for quick weight loss - 7-14 pounds in a week in our family. Lots of meat and cheese - and no cheating.
So does diet soda.
Just kidding
Anyone try Shangri-La Diet sm
Just wondering if anyone has heard of or tried the Shangri-La Diet..  and if so what did they think about it?   Did you lose any weight?   Just curious, need to lose that 20 pounds.. or so...
