Is your spam filter on?
It's a stupid question, but you didn't mention your spam filter  Is it on?  There is an options button on the mail page where you can make sure that your spam filter is on.  I have yahoo and this catches 99% of it.  Some of it still comes through, but I just click those as spam and it's not an issue.  It's maybe one or two a week.
New company software installed? You might have Their printer installed as default. You'd have to
s
I installed it and then installed the other schemes. SM
I put the erotic on. It is pretty funny when you go slow. Thanks, I needed that laugh. :O)
filter
You have to have a line filter on it.
air filter change

Anyone know how often your air filter is supposed to be changed in your car?  TIA.

Yes, I use fan and also a filter to cut down on glare.

You might try a filter that you can get from Radio Shack.
It is probably just interference from something in your neighborhood, perhaps a ham operator or something like that?
You need the compatibility filter from the MS site.

I even get spam IMs! Never had that before.... (sm)
The most annoying is this ugly little blowfish that puffs up, says "Hi, Sexy", and then deflates. No amount of reporting him as spam makes him go away.
SPYWARE?

Is there a way to track the origin of IMs? (Always gibberish 'email addresses' on them - possibly comuter-generated.)

And how about all the spam for Rolex watches? What IS that c**p? Anyone get similar garbage-IMs, and do your companies offshore? I think Georgia MT may be onto something that is only the tip of a nasty iceberg.
It's just spam.

Those things have been making the rounds for years . . . they're most likely just garden-variety spam.  You don't have to visit creepy websites to get them, either.

You'll get spam like that if your email address gets picked up on mailing lists.  For instance, you enter your email address on some legitimate website, and then somehow the list of addresses ends up in the hands of some spammer.  Or, your email address gets picked up off a board by an address-collecting spammer.

Just delete without reading them.  NEVER click the things on the bottom where you can request to be removed from their list--those are usually just ways for them to confirm that they've mailed to a valid address, thus making your address more valuable for them.

If you're in the market for a new internet provider, Earthlink filters out most of those automatically and gives you a spam filter on your account. You can delete anything like that that gets through without having to download it into your computer and you can report chronic spammers to them so they can be blocked.  It's very nice--you can rid yourself of spam AND get a grip on huge photos and jokes that your family forwards to you.

Need some help on how to cut down on spam
I don't know if there is a free web site I can install or just how to get rid of all this unsolicitated spam I get each and every day. Anyone out there, help!!
Set up spam filters. I have MSN as my ISP. sm
I get those all the time. Pocket Rockets, viagra, cialis, etc. Sometimes you can tell by the subject line what they are. If it is a name you don't recognize, chances are it is junk. DO NOT CLICK ON THE OPT OUT LINK. That tells them it was a legit email address. If you ever look at the names on the CC list, you will see all variations of spellings of your name and/or email.

MSN has different filter options. But I am sure your ISP probably has something similar. I have a safe sender list, a safe mailing list, and a blocked sender list. Anything that is not on any of my lists goes directly to my junk mail folder. I do check my junk folder periodically because sometimes legitimate mail ends up there. I find a lot of my scrapbooking sites end up there. LOL.

That said, I guess the only thing you can do is just not open anything that you don't recognize. And keep your virus, malware, Spyware and other "'wares" up to date.

Good luck.
Interesting, I had spam today from someone who had
the same last name as mine, not a real common name. Kind of scary, though I just sent it off as spam. I have all kinds of security on my computer, but this was too wierd.
I had one also with my first initial and last name - all to crazy for me. It was spam also.

Email spam software
Any good programs free or otherwise?  I use Outlook and lately all I get is spam for Viagra or what have you. I have filtering at my ISP but it takes out my important emails too. Ideas anyone?
What is with all the obvious spam postings today?
x
because it is SPAM, it is fake, it is phoney, it's a SCAM.
ho hum
Production e-mails
Sounds like we work for the same company!  I wonder if the whole company is doing that or just particular team managers? I really don't mind it that much, it kind of keeps me on my toes - but I can understand your frustration.
Question about e-mails...sm
I am trying to send an e-mail to my employer but it keeps coming back to me as a failure notice.  It states:  530 Authentication required.  Does anybody know what this means?
Thanks
Did you save any of the e-mails

If so, then just include that with a nice letter to your past employers about the fact that your working arrangement did not work out.

If that doesn't work, you may want to see if there is a way to sue her for defamation of character.  She has to have good grounds to be calling your previous employers.  Was this the lady at Seascript?  She seemed to have some problems, but I think she was getting help.

Save the e-mails you get and, when you
get one from QA person B that contradicts what QA person A said in the old one, reply to B with a cc to A saying in a very nice and professional way that you had understood it to be such-and-such based on what A had told you before. This will start a dialogue among the QA folks and, hopefully, the correct answer will be found and published.
You did not receive spam via this website. Your email address is not available

and is protected from bots that glean email addresses from websites.  As far as that email is concerned, it has been cycling around for years and anyone could receive it.

Did you check your junk mail or spam folder? Sometimes they in there

No check from 07/16, 08/01, and 08/16..no response to e-mails
Thankfully I haven't had this problem before..but now I don't know what to do.  This is a lady who I've done work with for the past 3 years...very much in the first couple of years, and it has slacked off to only occasionally now.  I never had a problem with her paying in the past and thought we had a good working relationship over the past few years.  Now, I haven't been paid for these 3 invoices, and have gotten a couple of e-mail, late in August and early in September, that the check was on the way.  Now for the past week plus I haven't gotten any response to my e-mails..and still no check.  It's only about $350 or so, but it's the income I've always used to pay my credit card bill...and now without it, I've gotten late charges. I just wonder what my next move should be..or if there is anything I can do short of just e-mailing her again? I'm just really surprised that it's come to this...and I'm hoping she's just on vacation or something
MSN used to send me daily e-mails SM
telling me every single website they had been to.  But this would only work if they sign in under their own name and not "borrow" mom or dad's name!
I know this is MDI-MD. Couldn't take the e-mails - she is NUTS! nm

Anyone type their e-mails in all caps?

A co-worker sends the entire e-mail response in all caps regardless of the question.  I was always told it meant shouting.  If there is some other meaning please inform.

I've been getting e-mails explaining it.
Maybe you aren't on company e-mail or you haven't checked it?
Sometimes e-mails show no emotion
You are lucky to have a mentoree.  Take it with stride, and once you've gained experience, move on.  Words on paper can be misinterpreted very easily.
The e-mails show that they come from MT Stars

Any time someone e-mails you from a MT Stars post this message is attached to the e-mail showing that it comes from MT Stars.  Just because you didn't get one doesn't mean a thing.  They have to open a post and click on the blue to e-mail - they just haven't done it to you yet.

Am I alone?
RE: How do I set outlook express so my e-mails show up chronologically?
\
Ask Greg or Frank or whoever is the current CEO. They can check e-mails from Hawaii.
Aloha.
Tired of blanket nonproductive e-mails that chew out everyone but are really only meant for a (SM)

for a few individuals.  These are so discouraging for the ones who are doing a good job.  Supervisors are not so important that they can't take the time to change the e-mail address so the letter is sent to only those who are messing up - and, conversely, if you can't take the time to figure out who is messing up, then you won't take the time to find out who is doing a good job, so you will never give a raise.

Yes - my letter is perfect example of sending an e-mail to every supervisor and MTSO.  See how ineffective it is?  Makes you feel very defensive if you are not guilty of doing this.  Imagine how it makes me feel when I get these notes after working 10-12 hours to try to help you get caught up, and then you send out a note that basically says how lazy we all are.  Thanks a lot.  There are a lot better companies out there than you, and even a few who might appreciate high quality and high quantity work.

amen. don't send me condescending atta girl e-mails. i know i do a good job.
i don't need a cheer-leader supervisor to tell me.
I just installed ShortHand. I need help!

Does anyone know if ShortHand can be set up to insert superscripts and subscripts?  I imported all of my Autocorrect entries from Word, but it wouldn't import the formatted text.  For example, can ShortHand be set up to convert the "c" in A1c to subscript?  I really appreciate any help on this!

Losr wp5.1 when XP installed sm
I always kept WP5.2 for DOS in case a client had a moldly oldy and I truly enjoyed having it on hand. When my new tower came in, I realized that WP5.1 was, of course, gone for good, as the tech gave me a new tower with XP. I have the diskettes and wonder if I did have an old WP5.1 job come in, is it possible to install with XP or is DOS necessary and is it gone forever? Love WP5.1, made me lots of money in this field, it was my "buddy" and I feel I lost a good friend. Crazy? Yes!!
I have installed it at least 3 times

due to computer problems where I've had to dump my hard drive and reinstall everything.

I don't know if you are talking about disks that you bought or disks that came with a new computer.

Gee, don't know :o(. Have you installed all drivers?
I don't have an Ativa. I wish I could help!
I've had up to 4 installed at once and

I have never had any problems, I have it installed on 3 computers,
I don't have the current version on my laptop as yet (don't use my old computer anymore, would if the other 2 died though....kids have it for playing CD programs, etc. But never had any problems with downloading, installing, etc.
MTStars spellcheck help - I just installed it and
do not see the "checkmark" button at the top with my other browser buttons.  How do I access the spellcheck?  It is installed and shows as a program on my list of programs.  Help!!!!
I'm assuming you installed the software that came with?
If so, and don't laugh, did you try rebooting? I always do that first before I worry about any computer issues. If it doesn't take care of it then go back and make sure you followed the installation steps exactly. Is it the Mircrosoft Natural Ergonomic 4000? I have that and it's great...only thing I could complain about is it's rather wide, so when I do need to use my mouse, my arm has to reach a little farther, which isn't good ergonomically, but I do everything I can to avoid using the mouse anyway...oops, I digress! Good luck with your keyboard!
If it has never been installed on another machine, then you are fine. sm
I have bought OEM software off or Ebay, came with registration numbers never used, and it was fine. I was able to register and access support.
It you purchase a new pc, it may not come with Vista installed. However, sm
it most certainty will be "Vista ready," meaning, you will have all the specs you need to perform the upgrade.
Word 2007 installed and...

I lost my Stedman's and all of my auto corrects, but everything else seemed to be alright :)

I had to reinstall Stedman's and thank goodness I backed everything up so I had my auto corrects!!

I use the free one; not installed or paid for
I think the free (run-it-when-you-need-it) is great! Sure, the real-time protection and monitoring would be great, but I'm on a budget, and I can run their free version as often as I would like (takes about 2 hours, so usually right before I go to bed) and it finds all kinds of alleged 'problems' and I tell it to fix them, and it does. Sure seems to have been helping me, but it could be that in combination with all the other things I'm trying.
My husband tried the 'free trial' on his laptop that you actually download for real-time coverage, and it apparently REALLY bogged his computer down (so he says) and he had to take it off within a couple of days.
Any help?
I use IT. I highly recommend you have it installed.
date element in Meditech is F6, I think. Press F keys all the way. Then, try alt and the F keys all the way down and then control and F keys to see what their functions are. You can jot them down on paper and make it into a toolbar by taping it to the keyboard. Now that I think of it, if you have a Help Desk, they may have a copy of the F key functions to send you.

And also, you will need a speed typing engine which will be well worth the money.
It won't work. Stedman's has to be installed from
the disks.   You can't even copy it a flash drive and then try to install it on another computer.
how would one find out if there was a keylogger program installed(sm)
on your computer?
