and still continue to sneak around.  I'm sorry.  I don't care for that kind of lifestyle gay or straight.

Cannot remember name of a movie and want to have my kids watch it.

Hopefully somebody out there can help me out on this one.  I watched this moving about 4 or 5 years ago, I believe it was even a Sundance Film Festival Movie, but not sure.  It is about 2 families, 1 Irish Catholic family with several kids and one particular curious 10 year old boy and Jewish family with only 1 child who is 10 and the 2 boys become friends.  The whole point of the movie is their different religions and the 2 boys trying to figure out if their religions are so different why is the outcome for both getting to heaven.  The 2 boys end up doing all kinds of "challenges" and what not through the movie to ensure their place in heaven while also trying to sort out why their families are so different and against them playing with each other.  In the end, I believe the Jewish boy ends up getting sick and dying and the 2 families end up being brought together by this and also brought together by the donation of the Jewish parish to the eldest boy in the Catholic family so he can go to college (which of course the Catholic father is against at first because of pride).

I think that is how the movie goes but I only saw it once.  The reason I want to show my kids is because they are 9 and 10 and all of a sudden becoming facinated with why people have different religions and beliefs and how some of their piers "don't like some kids" because of their religion, etc.  This movie was a good example of how we are all the same no matter what we believe and I want my girls to know that and to know that they should not judge somebody by their beliefs and I want them to know that we ALL can teach each other something new no matter what our backgrounds are or how we were raised or even how old we are.  Can somebody help me with this movie title?  It would be greatly appreciated.

33, married with 3 kids...
Ages 12, 10, and 8... Thankfully they are in school most of the time I transcribe... Otherwise, I get NOTHING done... ;o)
Married, Two kids, 17 girl, 11 boy
I'm interested in what your husbands do!
46, married, 4 kids, 4 grandkids. :)

46 married 4 kids 3 grandkids. Hubby's fingers too big to MT

Size 12 in a ring and he's 5' 11" 157 lbs. Big old sausage fingers. He tries to look something up on the net and I have to type it for him or he hits 3 keys at a time.

He plays a mean bass guitar though.

39yo female, married, 3 kids, MT for 20 years. NM

How true, mine is trained quite well....before we married he asked if I would ever divorce him -
abused me in any way. So far so good after 9 years. He admits to cheating on his first wife a couple of times though as she did not like having sex (not the reason of their divorce and long before I met him which was 2 years after his divorce). He is germaphobic so it's amazing he ever cheated in the first place....but I think he was actually trying to get her to divorce him (subconsciously)....took 12 years for it to work though. Luckily they had no kids. She did not want kids either, at least not then. She has since remarried too (a month after he did) and her 2 sons are very close in age to my 2 girls. Weird. Men can be such weenies though. Now to just train him to throw out his used paper towels instead of leaving them all over the kitchen counter (my dad does the same thing too). Oh well.
I was married at 21, been happily married for 18 years now.
Have 2 teens, 16 and 13. Love my soul mate!
Do little kids like caramel? My big kids won't even eat it! We make the basic Baker's chocolat
s
I never said you shouldn't have kids! Feeling guilty? I asked WHY you had kids.
You clearly stated in your post that you ship the kids off to camp all day, and they're TIRED AT NIGHT!!  You know exactly what you said.  You said it as a PERK - AS IN GREAT! They're gone all day, it wears them out, and so I shovel dinner in their mouths and off to bed!  You can try to paint it any way you want, but YOU SAID IT.  Again, I only hope your kids never hear you speak that way or write that way. Shame on you.  Why have kids at all?  Just another parent who has them, gets rid of them for day AND night, BRAGS ABOUT IT, and then calls ME wicked!  Give me a break!  Camp is fine - its WHAT YOU SAID AND YOU KNOW IT.  Your own words showed your heart. Period.
Kids are demanding and so is MT work. My question is how CAN you do this with kids, rather than how
When you have two young kids, 11 months apart, (like I stated they are now 4 and 5) and have been doing this since they were born with no help from their father and no family around, YES, the kids get neglected. Part time might work but living on one salary, part time, is not an option. How can you possible tell me that anyone with two young kids can stay at home and work a full-time, 8-hour shift, and still give their kids the attention they NEED. I dont care how good you are at multitasking and how great your organizational skills are. It is a very difficult thing to do. And I am offended by your post making it sound as if it is easy to do.

I do agree that it can depend on how well your kids behave and how well they are able to play on their own. But my kids were not able to play well on their own. They needed constant attention.

So please take the time to realize that there are people out there in different situations than your own.

Reading our posts should help you to understand that everyone has a different situation. I believe everyone should have the right to shares their experiences as it might benefit the original poster in her questions and concerns.

I dont think anyone should be bashed for taking the time out to write about their experiences. I dont usually come on here to argue but you really ticked me off with your post. And try reading the post correctly. I said next time around I would have put them in day care. What I DID do with them was set them up to an activity like art or put on a movie for them. Geez.
Stayed "because of the kids?" I say "leave because of the kids"
You're in no position to buy right now. Keep saving, keep paying down your bills, and for heaven's sake get rid of that dead weight of a BF you're living with. You can do better.
So, should I return the $75 (x2 kids) in music cards I got the kids for x-mas...sm
My son has been telling me about free music sites and I was very leary.  How do they skirt the law Radguy?
I don't have kids, but my Mom was from the "old school," and still had everyone, kids inclu

call her by her first name.  The little neighbor girl next door from the time she could speak called her Aggie (my mom's first name), and they were great buddies until the day my mom pased away.

I don't think there really is much in a name, but more in the respect you are given and the way you are treated.   Personally, I kind of cringe inside when someone calls me Ms. Anything or God forbid, "maam" (makes me feel like Methuselah!) ... I'm always just plain Merrie.  :-)

But, as someone pointed out, to each his own.  If you want to be addressed a certain way, you have that right, and people should respect that.  I'm glad you corrected the child ... hope it "sticks."

have ya'll seen this movie sm
called Napolean Dynamite? If you have teens, maybe you have heard of it.  If you wanna rent a movie this weekend that is totally mindless and just plain funny, rent this one! OMG, my 14 YOD has watched it four times since we've had it.  It's just funny!
So are you saying you actually saw the movie?
If you did, then you would know they would never have gotten married if society had accepted their lifestyle and they did not have to fear for their lives.
It was a TV movie, first
After getting work at Universal (legend is he sorta snuck in), Spielberg was given Duel as his first directing job. It was a TV movie (I remember seeing it way back then). It was later released to theatres in 1983, most likely due to Spielberg's success with ET and other films at the time.

It's remarkable how simple a film it was (i.e., low budget). Only about 3 actors, with Weaver in every scene. It reminds me of a Stephen King type suspense, although none of the movies made of King's work has done nearly as well.

Some interesting comments about the film can be found at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067023/?fr=c2l0ZT1kZnx0dD0xfGZiPXV8cG49MHxrdz0xfHE9ZHVlbHxmdD0xfG14PTIwfGxtPTUwMHxjbz0xfGh0bWw9MXxubT0x;fc=1;ft=206;fm=1

any movie must see and
I highly recommend The Machinist, it kept me interested as to whats going on until the very end, and I had to watch it again to catch the little hints.  I just rented and saw Red Eye, HORRIBLE...some parts were predictable and others were ridiculous.  Don't tell me other passengers don't notice when someone gets head-butted hard enough to draw blood.  Big disappointment.  Anyone else?
probably his best movie!
It showed the insurance companies for what they are; money-grubbing killers.

I think anyone here who thinks this is a good system should try to put herself (or himself) in place of those denied a claim for a procedure to save a life.

It is callous and disgusting. As I said before, health care should not be a for-profit business.
Please do not simply give up, kids or no kids!
Talk with a professional. This can be worked through if he really puts forth the effort and you participate. The right counseling can truly make your marriage even better than it was before, if BOTH parties are willing to be honest. Give it a try. Nothing to lose at this point and everything to gain!
War of the worlds movie.
Has anyone seen the new War of the Worlds movie and did the big, mechanical monster remind you of a giant colonoscopy at times?  Just wondered if anyone else saw it and thought the same thing. ');>
This movie was so bad that we walked out of it!!

That's the scariest movie I ever saw! SM
I was 19 when I saw it - and I went home and slept in my parents' bed with them!
Sounds like a fun movie!

Wow! Wasn't that some movie!

good movie
Crash

I am so excited to see this movie.

I never saw his other 2 movies, but I am so glad he is making this, and I hope everyone will watch it.

He mentioned on Oprah that health insurance companies are required by law to turn a profit (for the benefit of their stock holders), and in order to turn a big profit they feel they need to deny care to patients that need it.  The laws obviously need to be changed, and healthcare needs to be a right, not an outrageously expensive privilege!

What was that recent movie ...
Something where they were going to blow up a compound in Saudi, wasn't it?
did you see the movie Doc Hollywood?
it's about just that - it's sorta old, but so wonderful.
Outsourcing - the movie
Has anyone seen the recent movie Outsourcing?  My husband and I rented it last night and it was quite good, and very relevant to what's happening in the MT business, although the business in the movie was actually a call center.  It's a comedy about a call center manager whose whole department gets outsourced to India and he is sent over there to train his replacement and get the whole department up to standards.  It's very funny actually, with a little romantic story line thrown in, to boot.  It seemed pretty realistic in portraying what's happening in too much of American business today, and as MTs, we can all relate!
I am trying to find a movie still from The Pacifier of
BUT I CANT FIND ONE. I find movie stills from the movie, but for some reason NONE of that one. If anyone comes across one please send it my way..I really want to irritate my husband.
That a movie about gay cowboys is wonderful
And wins all the awards, but yet the Mel Gibson movie, The Passion of the Christ" caused such an uproar. It shows where Hollywood's mind is and their agenda for the rest of the country.
Thanks, can't wait to see it. I'm always up for a good movie. nm

We still have a Drive In movie theater. sm

It's located in a small town called Skowhegan and it's open during the summer.

No more speakers in the window. The sound comes through your radio. Make sure your car battery is good. No need to hide in the back as they charge by the car, regardless of how many people are in it.

Izzy was in a Hallmark movie also
It was a sweet story, catch it if you can....She was also in something else that I can't think of right now... a movie.. I'll think of it sooner or later...
Repeat after me,,,,, I love that movie.

Keeping with the movie theme........

share with me the good movies you have seen in the past year (I like to get PayPerView and have picked some STRANGE stuff lately!!!)

Thanks!!!!

LOL...yeah, I think it is. Great movie!

my fave movie too....but not for Costner...nm

Loved that movie however unpopular.
I applaud Mel Gibson for making it.
Eight Below - great family movie. nm

Saw it yesterday, it was a very good movie.

There is also a good movie hopefully coming out soon. sm
it is more about maternity care in the US and how horrible it has evolved in the last decade or so. Lake and director Abby Epstein explore the intervention of modern medical practices in the birth process, which has led to alarming rates of drug-induced labor and cesarean sections performed in America. it actually has ricki lake in there too with her home births.

I knew there was a dell in there somewhere...LOL! Been a while since I seen the movie.

Thank you ghost! So true! So true! More than one person!
xx
That was in a movie right? He looks great on award nights.
I like him because he seems to be focused on the part he plays and not on looking good and in some movies, especially the pirate movie, he looked not so good but was hilarious.  He doesn't seem Hollywood to me all propped up and doing the guest appearances to promote his movies.
Go out and do something! A movie, a museum (if open), mall, etc. -sm
I am home just about every Saturday night though I am married, have no family in the area, and few people my husband trusts to babysit. We try to go out during the day all together and do stuff with the kids on Saturday as I usually spend Sunday working all day (yes I am working now, taking a 10 minute break though). When I was single I enjoyed going out by myself and doing things. On the rare occasion now that I go out alone and don't have a million errands to run, I enjoy myself. But you can't meet anyone if you don't go out and try, maybe one of those book stores with cafe's, or the library, etc. Of like my dad (which I wish he hadn't done but its water under the bridge) go to church one night. That is what he did and he met my, now, stepmother that way. I am not religious so I'd never do that. But my point is complaining about being home alone and dateless on Saturday night is not going to change unless get up off your butt and go out. Try it and who knows!
Exactly. What audience would be clammering for a ticket for this movie?
Love to see it fail to send a message to Hollywood. Don't push your agenda down our throats.
Million Dollar Movie? Was on every night...sm
on TV and you could watch the same movie for a week?  I remember a lot of James Cagney movies shown on that Million Dollar Movie - *lol*
