did that a few months ago, had a mortgage and a 2nd mortgage, and just could not keep up. They agreed to a short sale on the 2nd mortgage, and by a miracle she got a buyer. She actually walked away with about $1K. Lives with boyfriend now which is saving his butt from foreclosure now.

Don't know what it's like wherever you live but in my town yard/garage sales are some people's weekend hobby lol. Get friends to sell stuff too so it is a big one that people will stop at, make the signs big.
A friend of mine went to work for
them and had a very hard time, ended up going with another service. She told me she was docked in her pay for sending to QA with blanks. She said she could not make any money there.
A friend of mine works there and....
She really loves it! She has been there since August. Her pay has been really great. I am hoping I will get a chance there as well.

Yep, reminds me of a friend of mine
who lost her job as a travel agent (due to technology, Expedia, Cheap Tickets, etc.) and refuses to work for less than $35,000 a year. Says it's "beneath her."
Well she has no other skills, and is uneducated except for a 6-month travel course at a community college, so how could anyone expect to call the salary shots in that situation?
I agree. You gotta do what you gotta do. Sometimes life hits you hard, but it's up to you to accept it or start over with an education.
If you choose not to "accept" a job that pays less, even temporarily, that's your problem, not the government's.

A friend of mine did the injections (sm)
and her legs looked great for a little while. Eventually, blood got trapped below the injection sites and they look worse now than they did before.

I have changed careers a few times, all due to sheer boredom and after only 5 years I am already fighting it again doing MT. Interestingly, when my doctor prescribed Cymbalta for my diabetic neuropathy last year, I found my production went up and it was much easier to focus on not only the job but the housework, etc. Have no other symptoms of depression, and am off the Cymbalta now (it did work wonders for the neuropathy).
You might try spiffing up your workspace a little with new curtains or a nice picture on the wall...something that will make you smile when you look at it. Good luck, and take heart in the fact you are not the only one. 
Agree with Lab Rescue. A friend of mine sm
is involved with them and fostered labs before she got another dog of her own. They will provide the dog with medical care and a loving home while they try to find a good home for the dog.
Thank you for being so diligent caring for this dog. You sound like a terrific person. Labs are such wanderers. Hopefully someone will claim the doggie soon. Good luck!!
A friend of mine had this happen while she was pregnant...
And now, almost 6 months post delivery with no relief of the pain, she has been told that she will have to have the bottom part of her tailbone REMOVED! There was no inciting injury. She just stood up from a seated position and started with excruciating pain.

Sounds like a friend of mine - he is now her ex-husband - sm
though, even though "the sex is great", she'd say the same thing. She worked outside the home but was expect to cook a full evening meal from scratch every night (breakfast and lunch on the weekends as well as dinner), no frozen foods, kits, etc. , plus take care of 2 kids, dog, bird, lizards, etc. and of course keep an immaculate house, while servicing him every day. Things got so bad (he has quite a temper) that her kids actually asked her to divorce him, that is sad when that has to happen. But they are now away from Mr. Controlling and much happier. The daughter refuses to see her dad, granted my friend had to pull his teeth to get him to actually see the kids per the visitation at first (2 weekends a month was it), now he is all mad 7 years later that his daughter hates his guts, granted she is 16 now so that has something to do with it too (other than him being a total jerk). He would hold the child support hostage too, so if he was mad her wouldn't give it to her even though he knew she really needed it to make ends meet; so she went to the state and had it set up to be garnished directly so she did not have to "ask" for her support check anymore.....needless to say he was quite tee'd off when she did that. Things are better now but he is still a jerk. They do try to be civil to each other and work as a united front with the kids. Amazingly he has stayed single and has not sucked some other poor woman into his web. -- But you can't do it all. I have not had a night out for probably 18 months, but I do get out every now and then, but my husband definitely has lots of freedom but I don't begrude him as he cooks dinner every day, takes care of the kids as soon as he gets home from work so I can finish up my work or get started on the next day's allotment. He might gripe some but he does help a lot and he knows I do. You need to get yours to get off his butt and help out. As for a 2-day trip, next time just do it like you are tonight. He and the kids will live and maybe he will learn something. My husband had NEVER had the kids to take care of alone until 7/2004 when my mom got sick. I went up to be with her before and after her open-heart surgery. He had them for about 3-4 days, then I came home and took them back up with me a week or so later. He lived. The kids lived, and I think he learned, hey I can do this if I have too. You need to do the same thing (and then hope you don't come home to a mess of a house!). Good luck.
A friend of mine has a brother who was paroled - sm
about a year ago. He was sentenced to 20 years (3 carjacking) and let out after 8, is on parole for 12 years. He was allowed to skip the halfway house situation as he had always tested drug-free in prison; that and his dad bought him a condo to live in. He had to have a signed form from wherever he was to live stating they new he was a convicted felon, out on parole, etc. , so to avoid having him live in a bad area, his dad bought a condo (nice and he screwed over my friend in the process but that is another story). He does not live near where he was incarcerated which is about 2 hours away from where he is now. I don't think there is a restriction as to where he is as long as he is in the same state, so if you are in a different state I'd say you were probably okay. But if he has family where you are, the odds are he is back there as he had to have a living situation set up in advance before they would release him. My friend's brother has already broken parole a few times and is still out, they even reported it to the parole officer but were told that they could not do anything about it (probably have to witness it) which stinks. Her family is now sheilding the infarctions as they don't want him to go back to prison since if he does he will probably die there (40-y/o with hep C, diabetes), plus they are scared of him. The whole situation stinks. But as for the prison officials, I would think they could at least give you the name of the parole officer. Try looking at the prison site on line, you may find something there. Good luck.

She actually had less than 5 years exp and like you it was all clinic, and she got hired with Encompass and loves it. She's done both clinic and acute care there I think.

will have closed their offices save for a few and everyone should be on DEP and they already know ASR is not worthwhile so that would be a good time to sell although it may take more than a year as slow as the accounts are moving to DEP.
Without too much effort?! A good yard sale takes a good deal of effort, IMO.

I had a good friend who did it and I found out... and
when I found out it was when I was promoted to the transcription regional manager for the branch. It was up to me to do random QA and invoicing to make sure everything was okay. It was really, really sad because my very best friend there who started with me at the same time, on the same great account (we both did well, and this was back in the late 80s early 90s). So, about 6 years later, when I decided to go into QA and then management I did a random on my friend. This was absolutely just by chance. Well, I found out she was padding her lines about 12000 lines per pay period!!!!!!!I cannot tell you how shocked I was. These were the days we went according to bites and divided, etc. We were even allowed to use codes and that was okay too for the extra lines, like bolding, remember. Well even so, she was adding about 6K lines a week and no wonder she was making so much money. She used to laugh when we were friends because she'd put the book on the dictaphone pedal while she ran errands.
My heart broke that day. I asked her to please don't do it anymore. Well, unfortunately she did not listen to me and she got in big trouble. She was not fired, but I do not know what happened because between that and a wage cut some VP did on my MTs, I quit management. BTW: The padding in the case then was because it was an honor system. The MT was to look at the bytes and divide and type on a sheet and send the totals in, much like recent times for some companies. Only these days the software calculates it and usually it is the MTSO that can cheat by cutting line counts in deceptive ways. Oh, my, please this is a long enough note and don't get me started. I may have to hit the New Year's bottle and I don't want to do that because I go to work at 3 AM. LOL . HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE. See you NEXT YEAR heh heh.

One of my best friends has a good friend who is a chiropractor -sm
She (my friend) knows all the ins and outs. So when I was in a car accident in 10/05 I asked her....I had run into the money machine chiropractors before in the past and my SIL sees a real quack who has her basically living on herbal pills (she barely eats), and has her kids on them too. So my experience was a bit jaded. She said if you went to one who got their schooling at Palmer College of Chiropractors, then they should be a good chiropractor and be "straight" and practice straight chiropractic care and not be out to rape your wallet and use gadgets, etc. I heeded her advice and now am seeing a Palmer graduate and have been very happy with my care and my back is tons better now (after I was told there was nothing that could be done by my orthopedist). It did not happen overnight, took about 2-3 months, about $45 a visit. She "adjusts" (cracks) my back, neck and hips. I have had one "relapse" so to speak (which can happen and is normal) but that is on the mend now. I now only go every 2 weeks. I will probably continue to see her even after I sign off on the accident (my health insurance covers $1000 of chiropractic care a year, so I will be covered which is nice at 2 visits a month pretty much). As long as you don't go to a quack, I think it would probably help you but don't expect miracles overnight, takes a little time to feel better. Good luck.

A good friend died of cancer that I suspected years before
because of a test he had and he had asked me to get a copy of, which I did, but not being "qualified", it said possible metastasis, I just told him I couldn't get it for some reason, and to talk to his doctor. His doctor, for some strange reason said it was "normal". I then asked him to get a copy of it himself, but he didn't. My husband told him to go to another doctor. It took several years, but he eventually was diagnosed with cancer after having a seizure, (it had spread to his brain) and he died a few months later.
The bottom line is, we're really not qualified to diagnose or advise people. I do feel terrible guilt for it, (you should've seen me at the funeral) but there's nothing we can do. If a doctor doesn't diagnose something properly, even if WE KNOW, there's still nothing we can do about it. We don't have the capacity to treat them and nobody is going to listen to us.

Unions may be good for workers short-term, but look what has happened to American car union workers.
They priced themselves out of the market while making an inferior product. Ford and GM are now junk bonds. I'm driving a Toyota. So if that's un-American just like shopping at a non-union store like Walmart, well you can talk to whoever is in charge of wages and taxes who have created this monster where even middle-class has very little extra money to support a union store where the employees are paid well and you pay the price in the product they sell. I can't afford it.

Lots of ESL and disorganized dictators, and so on, plus work flow is sometimes uneven, requiring one to be flexible enough to come back and finish a shift later. But the work is available and the pay's quite good for the many who are earning the upper levels of the incentive scale. Of course, being hired in at a higher skill level for a higher base pay helps too, and a nice extra is the raise offered anyone who passes the CMT exam.

Long short forms vs short short forms

A long short form is usually easier to remember. So I would definitely assign the short forms as suggested by Kelli:

In most Expander programs you would opt for a short short form as you have to type the whole short form before you can expand.
In Instant Text you don't have to type the whole short form: you type the first two letters of your long short form and then you can type any of the following letters.
So in this case you would type smcth for the first one, smcta, and you may also type smhead, smabd
This is possible when you use the Instant Text marker key to expand. If you use the space bar to expand, you may be better off assigning the initials as suggested in the second response, as you would not be able to "jump ahead".

she is under the misguided idea that she will be making very good $ upon completing the course (a friend of hers supposedly makes $55K a year). I told her no way, at least not starting out and not unless all the factors click together, i.e. good typing speed, good pay (not for a newbie), good dictators (unlikely) and dedication to working hard. I told her what I make after 5 years (16K) but that is PT and I have the potential to double that if I would push myself, not procrastinate so much (I web surf way too much) and work more than I already do. I am not a fast typist but am good at what I do. I will be surprised if she follows though. She told me she'd call me when she finished the course, I just hope she is ready for reality.

Target usually has the most "good stuff" candy on sale i.e. the Hershey bars, M&Ms, Snickers, etc. Usually the day after Halloween it's 50% off and 2 days after Halloween it's 75% off. I stock up on enough candy to last until Christmas, then after Christmas get enough to last until Valentine's Day, then after Valentine's Day I grab whatever I can because there's no major "candy events" for a while to get it cheap!

I wanted to get out of owing a house that I co-owned with a boyfriend after the relationship tanked. He would not cooperate whatsoever. Thus, I was being held hostage to a property I no longer wanted and I could not free up my credit to purchase a property on my own. I got a free consult with an attorney. I was told that I could file a Judgment for a Partition of Sale. The court will then file a judgment to put the property up for sale when parties do not agree and divide the proceeds among the owners. I could also have him pay legal fees too. I informed him that it would be far cheaper for him to cooperate, and since he wanted to keep the house, he wouldn't be court-ordered to sell it. After researching the matter himself, he followed through and refinanced the house on his own and settled with me without court and attorney fees.
