Lanier Foot Pedal will NOT work with Express Scribe
Sorry to tell you but no a lanier foot pedal from a transcription machine will not work with an wav.player.
Most foot pedals out there are at least 69.00. - (cheapest I found) - and be careful what kind you get - if you have a newer computer - you will want the USB one - (faster, works great)
Foot pedal/express scribe
Can anyone tell how to get a DVI/USB pedal to work with express scribe - the pedal works with DocQScribe and Emdat - but cannot get it to work with this one??? T
Express Scribe foot pedal
I have an Infinity pedal I have used with Express Scribe I would sell.     Let me know if interested.
foot pedal with express scribe help
I have downloaded Express Scribe to try to do something (not medical).  The only thing is, I don't know how to get the foot pedal to control it.  I don't know what kind of pedal it is, the MTSO sent it to me.  Any ideas or help???
Are you playing it thru Express Scribe using a foot pedal? nm
Foot pedal wizard is in Express Scribe.
Have you tried to reboot your system since installing the new foot pedal? Sometimes the computers don't recognize new hardware until it reboots.
Need Express Scribe help with foot pedal controls

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong.  I have express scribe and a USB infinity foot pedal.  The foot pedal controls on express scribe do not let you set the foot pedal to back up a few seconds.  When you lift your foot off the pedal, that is exactly where it starts again when you push back down on it.  I want it to back up a few seconds so I can listen to something again, but I cannot see anywhere that it lets you adjust it to that.  I don't want to have to rewind it all the time.  Please help thank you

NEED RECOMMENDATIONS on foot pedal compatible w/Express Scribe (sm)

I realize they sell them on the Express Scribe website, but I was just wondering if anyone found any that were cheaper, worked well, and were still compatible with Express Scribe. TIA!

Anybody know of any free foot pedal/transcription software besides Express Scribe? TIA. nm
Express Scribe and pedal DO work with InScribe upgrade
That is not the case with me. I just upgraded to 4.91 and am still using Express Scribe and it's working fine. I do have an Infinity USB pedal. I do, however, have Windows XP or ME (I never remember which - XP I think) and not Vista. The tech guy at InScribe said some people have problems with the upgrade of 4.91 and Express Scribe with Vista. They have special directions on their download site for Vista users. Hope this helps someone. The new upgrade looks good, though I've not had a good run with it yet.
Pedal won't work with Media Player, download Express Scribe. nm
You can use a footpedal with express scribe. I do when I test
You have to go up into settings. I have never figured out the adjust rate backing up but the footpedal will stop the dictation. Hope this helps.
Can you try your pedal with Express Scribe?

It is a free software program and you can just Google to find it. I really like it. It might help to determine if it is your foot pedal or as another MT suggested perhaps the problem is your adapter.

I sure hope you get things up and running.

pedal and express scribe
Can I use my Start/Stop footpedal with Express Scribe? Thanks!
Use any pedal compatable with Express Scribe - sm
Save yourself some money instead of getting the one specifically for INscribe.
Can you download Express Scribe and see if you can get your pedal to play through that? nm
Infinity USB pedal and Express Scribe software. sm
You may need to install an additional file to play .dss files.

This setup works for me.
InScribe upgrade- can still use Express Scribe with my pedal
That is amazing!  I did play with InScribe while ago to see what all happened with the different options and in case the upgrade would not let ExpressScribe work with my pedal, but surprising to me, after the upgrade, my pedal still works fine with ExpressScribe.  I have an Infinity USB.  The tech guy at Inscribe had said some people had problems with Express Scribe and Vista, so I guess if I get a new computer in the future and am forced to have Vista, at that point I'll learn to use the keys....anyway, thanks everyone for their input.
Not sure, but from what I understand just about every pedal works with express scribe. HTH.
How can I test my foot pedal?
Sorry if this is a dumb question.  I am just getting back into MT and will start training with the new company soon.  I got my foot pedal and hooked it up, but how can I test it to see if it is working?  Is there only a certain type of file it works with?  Thanks!
Will fiddling with the pedal settings for Express Scribe screw up
Question about the foot pedal with test files. sm

Sorry to digress, but I have tested for several companies and my foot pedal did not work with their wave files. I had to resort to hand controls for the test files.

Am I missing something?  I sure would like to know because I hate testing with hand controls.

Thank you

Does Express Scribe work like GearPlayer?.....thanks :)
Need Help. Traveling and cant get express scribe to work......

I flew to my parents house.  i didnt want to have to take my laptop on the plane as I already had a bunch of luggage and two little girls.  I work out of EMDAT and use express scribe.  Well I cant get sound and I keep getting a message that says there might not be a sound card installed or the sound card might be in use by another program.

Is there anywhere online where I can download a sound card, preferrably for free?  I work for two companies and didnt take off work, and I am afraid they are going to be very upset if I cant get up and running soon.

Thanks so much :-)

Does Express Scribe work with Vista?
I got it to work with Express Scribe! Works great!
Olympus 3300 ... will this work with express scribe? (sm)

I see that you can buy an optional olympus transcription "kit" but I have the pedal, ear phones and express scribe.  Does anyone know if this works with it?

once you use Express scribe to program it should work with any USB compatible software too.

Yes, I agree. Free is a good price and Express Scribe will work just fine for you. (nm)
foot pedal---any one will work I think, SM
I type on the Dictaphone Transnet platform and have two pedals and they both work. I am not sure the brand, but they are nothing particular. One is a USB and the other is a 9-pin. I am using the 9-pin right now.
Getting foot pedal to work (sm)
Does anyone have advice for getting a foot pedal to work for downloaded internet files.  I have plugged this into the USB port but my computer is not recognizing it.  Does having an ipod and its components installed/downloaded affect the foot pedal.  TIA
how do you work the foot pedal?
this looks cool! :P

how do you compare your lph with this versus a regular keyboard?

I got my foot pedal to work

The only steps you must follow are 14-16 to get the Footpedal working with InScribe.

After jobs have downloaded, click on Options Menu and select "Separate Play and Pause".

15. On Options Menu, select "Set Actions".
16. For the F9 key, you will see "Save". Drop down the list next to the F9 key and select "Pause". The actions are in alphabetical order so you should scroll up. Now select "Pause" and press OK or Close.

Help! Can get foot pedal to work

I have started a new job with Landmark but cannot get my two foot pedals to work with Bayscribe.  Could someone please help me!

Thanks in advance!

Foot pedal will not work
Sorry, I am just so upset because I need this job and neither of my 2 foot pedals seem to work with Bayscribe and in trying to get it to work I think I may have messed up the driver.  Any help would be appreciated!
Foot pedal will not work with Bayscribe

Thank you so much.  I believe we did this but for some reason it does not work.  Have been at this all day and I am exhausted from trying to figure out the problem.  Could you tell me what the difference is between a VEC USB foot pedal and a USB foot pedal.  That may be the problem, although both foot pedals have worked with other "tests" with other companies so I am just confused why it will not work with Bayscribe.

Again, thanks so much!

Foot pedal? Going from VXP to applying for other companies. What foot pedal should I get that woul
I need one even just to test so it seems.  Thanks for the input!
I also struggled with the trying to get the foot pedal to work so I used my keyboard.

Honestly, it was not a long test and was easy to do just using the mouse etc..It was taking longer to figure out how to use the footpedal feature than doing the actual test.

If is difficult to work in a recliner and push a foot pedal. It can
be done but creates a strain on your feet/ankles and slows you down.  I work on a picnic table under an awning when the weather is nice, but I'm not able to work as well as I do at my desk because I'm not able to have a keyboard tray and working with my keyboard on the table makes it too high.  I've even tried work in bed using a tray across my lap, but then again you have the problem with pushing the foot pedal.   You could use the keyboard for your function keys but it would really slow you down.
Do U keep playing with the ports and the types of foot pedals? An odd pedal might not work, like a
A wave pedal is a foot pedal that connects to either
serial port, game port, or USB depending on the software needed with it.   You have to download the work via the internet and most companies still require high-speed internet, though some allow dial-up or satellite.   A pedal costs about $70, though can find on e-bay cheaper.  You can download ExpressScribe for free to use with the foot pedal unless the company requires a different software program.
Yeah a 30 minute test---work for free, he gets enough to test, his work is done - nm
Why dont you stop coming in and agitating everyone under all your different names. Dont you work.
Express Scribe
I have been using it for almost 3 years. I have been very happy with it and not had any problems.
Express Scribe
On the voice files that you have in the program, just click on them and then there should be a button to click on that says Done. This should remove the files. Good luck!
Express scribe
Do you know if there is a hot key or Function key for building macros or speed type in Express scribe?
Express Scribe

Is there a setting in Express Scribe where when you let up on the pedal it rewinds?  Is it in options somewhere?

express scribe
I use express scribe for transcription.  I have been able to download files just fine with it for months, but now when I down load files it only gives me the option to save the file and does not load it into express scribe.  These are the same type files that always worked before.  Any ideas as to why or how to correct the problem?  Thanks in advance!
express scribe
Try deleting the express scribe and reinstalling it.
Express Scribe
Mine did exactly the same thing ONLY in reverse. I had to manually move it into Express Scribe from the voice files; then all of a sudden it started to load into Express Scribe immediately. I talked to the gal I was working with and she said this had happened to her also. Can't figure it out but it works OK now.
