Favorite love song that brings goosebumps and tears to the eyes?

Wow! you brought tears to my eyes sm
I was all ready to be blasted and your post actually brought tears to my eyes.  I know it isn't ME because the same ME was barely making $10 an hour average on the account I was assigned before I got the one I'm on now and have been on for the last 2 years.  I thank my higher power every day for my luck and will never forget that awful account I had before this one.
This brought tears to my eyes. sm

Thank you all for your support... it brought tears to my eyes.

Seriously, I really appreciate all your supportive advice and thoughts! I have decided after being treated like this and putting up with it for too long, to look for another job or maybe even another career.  I wish I could quit on them right on the spot without notice, but I have decided to show them what class or professionalism is, even in this bad situation. (Of course, if they do not pay me, then I will quit immediately.)  I can only hope they treat their next MT with some courtesy and respect which we all deserve.

Hugs to you all ~

Oh, dear! Wiping tears from my eyes. I'll pass on
"touching Frank on a personal level".  ROFL!  Oh, geez!  Yeah, yeah, mind in the gutter and all that.
Minimum Wage, as I read this tears began to well in my eyes ...

You, like some of the other posters, reflect a clear understanding of the downward trend this industry has taken over the last few years and the mindset of those who caused it.  You mention so many experiences that resonate with my own.  Most notably, I like you, put all of my eggs into this one basket, foolishly believing that this wonderland profession that I had found would last forever.  It was a perfect fit for my skills, abilities, and work preference.  I was able to make an excellent living and felt that somehow I was making a meaningful contribution to the care of each patient whose chart came to life under my fingers.

It is amazing to me how each year the profession requires more and more knowledge from us, more skill, more ability, more dedication, more resources ... and in direct correlation to what is demanded from us our pay is cut more and more and without apology.  I mentioned in another post that I remember when I first got into MT'g some 20+ years ago hearing the Powers That Be constantly resentfully complaining that we made too much money and were no more than glorified typists.  Who could have known that one day they would finally all band together and make an industry-wide collective effort to correct what they felt was an unacceptable dynamic?

It seems that everyone directly and indirectly involved in the process of transcription is valued and compensated well for their contribution to the process -- everybody except us --  the ones who actually make the final work product a reality.

Thank you for your contribution to this thread.

Oh i was, but I'm involved in a real life heart transplant story.
hits me twice as hard.
Man, its HOT in Indiana! Talk about global warming!
How 'bout where U live?
I think the warming blanket excellent idea
Bought one for my bed and it is plumb yummy! I turn it on when I enter my bedroom for the night, letting it warm some and by the time I get in the bed my bed is toasty warm. I stay so cold always, run lower temps than most because of a thyroid problem. I have a space heater in my workroom that I keep on lots during the winter but that electric (half size) blanket is tops!
I care and I do educate myself, but the jury is still out on global warming.

Doh! My EYES, EYES opened, lol.

Boxers, KY warming jelly, lots of sweets thrown in the bag with them

this brings up other questions. Are you
in a state that makes you carry liability on your car? they may all now for all I know. However, I upped my standard full coverage from what they call 25/50/25 to 50/100/50 with an increase on personal injury of 5,000 to 10,000 (the maximum). It was only a few dollars more per policy. A friend of mine was hit head on by someone who went to sleep at the wheel at noon and life flight alone was 5,000. You would think she came out like a champ, but she listened to some stupid people she worked with (unbelievable how many people wanted her vicodin which she could not take) and took a personal injury lawyer who totally blew her off for the least amount. My other point about personal injury was a guy who bit down on something he ate while driving, broke a crown, and filed it on his personal injury instead of dental or medical insurance. Just adding to the thought pool.
Now that brings back memories!! (sm)
Yes we have come a long way since pre IMB electric typewriters. Seriously I use to use a manual carriage return. That is how far I go back... Scary though. I really do like the progess we have made. Although we worked then!! No office chit chat, no line counts, no productivity standards, you just typed your 8 hours and clocked out. There is something to be said for that.
Life brings with it the ignorant!
Most patients probably don't realize that it is the nurse that handles their care essentially.  She/he alerts the doctor with problems, questions that arise, health status, etc.  The physician will "round", but it is the nurse that handles the "triage" tasks so to speak.  The patients are usually nice to the doctors, but expect the nurses to be their "slaves".  Yes, I am also a patient advocate since I've lost both of my parents in an inpatient healthcare setting and both with terminal diseases, but I also believe that a hospital is not a "hotel" where every whimsical desire is granted.  To understand why a nurse would say that is quite easy.  Transcriptionists sit at desks and look like secretaries.  It is only when the Transcriptionist is not there that the triumphs are noticed by others.  When I left a hospital setting, I had to train six, I mind you, (6) people to do my job.  I was full-time.  It is funny how much transcriptionists do that goes unnoticed until they are no longer there to do it.  What a smack in the face that hospital got, and it is a shame because it is the patient that will suffer.  Unfortunately, we don't usually get the recognition we deserve, but at least we can sleep at night knowing we've contributed.  I wonder if the same posters on these boards that complain they are unappreciated are the same ones complaining about having to work the holidays???????  I'm sure I'll get blasted for that one!  Oh well, I love my job and most people do that are in the transcription field, hence, they would not do it at all!  Wouldn't most of you agree?  I don't want to offend anyone, but it is just how I feel!  Be safe out there!

death in the family brings strife
Why is it that when a family member dies it brings strife among people who are supposed to love each other? My father-in-law passed away recently. My son plays baseball at his high school and  my husband and I had bought his father a jacket for Christmas one year that had the school logo and his name. He came to all of our son's games with that coat on. My problem is that my husband's sister took it without asking if we wanted it. We were planning on keeping it for our son to remember his grandfather and all the games he came to see. Any advice? Let it go? or ask for the coat back? I guess I am more upset that she didn't even ask (we did get it for him for Christmas as a gift) than anything else.
Depression? Brings our jobs home
I personally think we are headed for a depression.  I believe in our gung-ho desire to improve our trade partners (invest in our country so we could continue to export our debt) we mistakenly sent our jobs overseas.  Now, facing high unemployment, we need our jobs back.  Therefore, I am asking that you contact your local congresspeople and request that our jobs be brought back from foreign countries, thus increasing domestic production and increasing the number of jobs.  This is the perfect time to do this. In order to come out of a depression, we have to increase production.  We cannot export all production and having to produce.  Believe me, now is the time to request our jobs be brought back to the U.S.  The alternative is extremely bleak, and your elected officials know it.
HECK YEAH!!! FINALLy someone brings this up
Me and my mother in law both work for MQ and we were just talking about that. I am sure when people find out their info including addresses and ss# are going over seas then maybe they will want it stopped!!!

Google brings up wrong spellings etc. all the time.
Pick just about any medical equipment and search it spelled different ways; you will likely find them all on Google. To me it is basically useless for MT work because I have to check the books anyway in most cases.

Here's an example of what I find:

Flowseal™, FloSeal®

Both even claiming to be the trademark brand name.

Can't rely on Google.
Could be....are you familiar with these companies? Archives brings up MedScribes.....nm

I'm in tears over Elliott
What a great, great guy. I'm sorry, but Kat sure came off poorly tonight, and her mother's little "take that" for the camera while Elliott was getting his goodbye was in very poor taste.  I would have loved to have had Taylor and Elliott in the finals together. I would have been happy no matter who won then. I have a 19-year-old son, and I'd be so, so proud to have him carry himself with the dignity that Elliott did tonight. I'm am so sad for him, but I hope that something good comes for him out of this.
thanks, i need it. I'm in tears today

fractures, tears..yada
I broke my R hand about 15 years back.  Had to work, was the only one bringing in the money as my ex boyfriend was laid off.  So I wrapped my hand and went to work.  I would transcribe until it hurt so much that I had to take a break.  Went to the ladies room, put cold water on it and went back to work.  In 2003, I sustained a R rotator cuff tear.  No medical insurance and the only one, once again, bringing in the money.  I put my R arm in a sling and worked.  Had to pick up my R hand and place it on the keyboard and then was able to type.  Took it one step at a time.  You can do it..Over the years, when I have had trials and tribulations, I have realized when you need to make the money, you will do it..whether in physical or emotional pain.
OMG, I'm in tears I'm laughing so hard!
That is so funny!
Brings back memories! I had a computer fan that sounded like a mini helicopter! Kept
calling my company and having them "listen".  They weren't concerned. It did actually blow up one day - a little mini "poof" of fire, 2 seconds of light smelly smoke, and she was dead!!  A goner!  Never heard it before, never heard it after, but one did make noise and it died a month later!
OMG I can't see through the tears!!! Absolutely hilarious! Made my day...thanks!!!

This was good. There is no time for tears, arguments when you are
I'd throw him out, change the locks, he'll figure out what to do.

i gave blood, sweat, and tears as a QA person -
I tried for over a year with a very lame lady who supposedly graduated from one of the *top 3* schools and was a former nurse. She had a terrible ear, little to no comprehension, and was clueless on how to even use her reference books! She was hands down the worst MT out of dozens of people I worked with. The point is this - You can usually tell pretty early if someone is worth training or not. What does your gut say?
I'll say this again, tears are NOT necessary. Determination is. As well as a sound intellect. sm
You CAN do it! Good luck.
Leave it to the drug companies - how brilliant!! Tears Again, Teargen, Teardrops, Tear Drop
etc etc etc

no wonder I'm always skirting the edge of sanity...
Union diesil mechanic - good pay, great benefits. We swap year to year on who brings home more sm
money.....but I am an IC and he has all the benefits...health insurance/dental that the company pays for, pension plan, 401k, etc.  Factor all of that in and he makes way more than I do.
I cannot believe my eyes!
Can you please tell me where I can go to get some of this "coddling"? Do you hear yourself. "Them"????? Ignorant bigots.
I am sure you are...or at least in your own eyes,
you sound like you either think you are better than every one, or you are lying! That may not be how you mean it - but that IS how it comes across, to me anyway!
eyes

When I turned 40 is when my vision started changing.  Needing reading glasses only.  I now wear bifocals for driving and reading, but I bought a pair of glasses from Wal-Mart that have become my computer glasses.  I refuse to wear trifocals as that is basically what it would boil down to.

Good luck with your eye exam.

me too - have always said I don't do eyes...

eyes

Just what are you looking for?   Transcription or yourself?

It was not about bad eyes!
Yes I do wear glases. So do a lot of other people in this world! He revealed my field of vision tests results in front of a crowd of other patients. It was normal by the way so I guess my eyes are not that bad. Still this violated privacy laws! And just what do you do for a living? I hope you never type any of my medical reports!
That's the one! Love his eyes 8-) nm

what does that mean rolly eyes?
is it an old time joke before my time?
Bawling my eyes out.
My husband is the BIGGEST JERK on the planet.  I have been out of transcription for a few years having children and he has been working nights. We had agreed that I would go back to work after my 3-year-old gets into school (two more years).  Recently, however, he decided he is tired of working and quit his job.  I took a job and just started last week.  He is already complaining that I'm not making enough money.  I'm just so frustrated.  My family and friends are ready for me to leave me, but I have three kids under 7 and I'm scared to death.  I know I could support us, but I fear what the future holds, so it keeps me here.  He is verbally and physically abusive to all of us and I know better than this.  Please don't yell at me.  I'm looking for some support.  My family lives very far away. I'm sorry to dump this here, but you are all transcriptionists too and I thought maybe someone had a similar situation and could suggest something for me.  Thanks.
He IS easy on the eyes! lol (nm)
