Apples to oranges.....

In Reply to: How about if EVERYBODY brings a Christmas tree to the office?.???.nm - .-

Everyone may not be Christian or care for a tree, but EVERYONE is supposed to be an American, right? If not, go back to where you came from and live there with your mouth shut!

Apples and oranges. sm
That seems to be what our conversations always end up.  We both look at the war in Iraq for a totally different viewpoint.  It will never change and there is no use discussing any further because we have done it several times before.  We will have to agree to disagree.
Apples and oranges....
Good grief. What is so insulting about proposing bilingual education for American children? You want better education. He wants better education. Where's the rub?

While I agree that the quality of education leaves a bit to be desired, I would look beyond the classroom to explain what is happening to the native tongue and why. Can you say electronic media? TV, DVDs, MP3, video games and the like (just for starters) hold much more sway with your kids than any teacher could ever hope to have. Virtual reality wins hands down.

Their future lies deeply embedded in a global community, like it or not. MTs compete with BILINGUAL, trilingual and multilingual populations in 3rd world countries for our jobs every single day. We aren't exactly coming in first in that race, to be sure.

Couldn't hurt to equip our children with the tools they are bound to need. Last time I checked, American pride won't pay the bills.

Apples and Oranges

The bailout for the auto industry was to save jobs.  Healthcare reform is to save people.  If the private insurance industry is a casualty of that, at least the unemployed will have healthcare while they look for another job.

Apples meet oranges. (nm)

Again, apples...meet oranges!
Unlike common garden-variety pedophiles, Priests are in positions of power within the church and take vows of celibacy. I am sure you are aware of the major upheaval in the Catholic Diocese because of the extensive number of cases where priests have sexually molested children. Exorbitant payouts have been made by the Catholic Diocese to the many children who are victims of Priests who are practicing pedophiles.

Another apples to oranges nonsequeter.
His daughters attend the school where kids of many high-profile official go. As we can see from the gusher of back pack reports and endless analyses of their first day at school yesterday, his daughters will be fodder for the paparazzi, not to mention targets of kidnapping and assassination. They have considerations that Joe and Josephine the Parents do not have.

There is nothing hypocritical about rejecting school vouchers programs which are unnecessary, undesirable and, in fact, DO undermine the public schools systems by diverting funds that can do more good for a larger number of children in public settings. He campaigned on this issue and the way he has responded to the issue is perfectly consistent with what he said before he election.

Don't you have better things to do with your time than a 24/7/365 witch hunt vigil?
You can't compare apples and oranges...
today, came from Bush' watch - including the sorry mess of our economy and our standing in the world theater.

Sorry you don't like the truth.
You are putting apples with oranges.,
this has nothing to do with that.
Do You Like Apples?
Four separate recent polls have indicated that aproximately 20% of American people identify themselves as Republicans. The Republican Party has lost a fourth of its base over the last 25 years. Specter's switch highlighted the fact that people are walking away from the Republican Party.

How do you like them apples?
It isn't fair to pick out a few bad apples...
...and characterize a whole group based on them. And you're also right about Conservatives (loosely put) not always agreeing with one another, especially these days. Seems dissent among the ranks is breaking wide open.

But regardless of degree of badness of the apples in general - any group as a whole who supports Bush remains suspect as a whole because there is simply no reason left for an intelligent person to do so. Most who still do, do so because they aren't aware of the facts and aren't very good judges of character. Just my opinion, but I stand by it, and see more proof of it every day.
Yes, but pears and apples are both fruit!
:)
The saying, 'a few bad apples spoil the bunch' is true...sm
I think the loose recruiting tactics to beef of the military that is what is causing these chain of events. My question is how can America screen soldiers to prevent stuff like this?

And to take away their immunity is just as scary to me. There's no time like the present to start unhooking the training wheels.
Oh yeah, judge an entire party by a few bad apples.

you're mixing apples and beans, drug addiction

alcoholism and drug addition is nothing like religious fanaticism and/or religious extremism.....and/or genocide in Darfur and/or Kenya

he went to see Odinga not a month ago to try and broker peace there......and after he left Kenya, the genocide continued and continues thru now....
