Glenn could not have made his point

better! MSNBC picked up on the show so quickly, along with all the regular critics, they really spread his message for him. They are such a great advertising firm for him and Bill-O! Thanks for posting it on here!

Yes! You made my point exactly
They just keep shipping the jobs out until eventually we'll be left with millions of doctors and lawyers!! And who wants that?! :)

Seriously, something has to be done about this. Unfortunately, quite a few politians are paid by these big companies that make profits by off-shoring. We have to start putting major pressure on them to stop.
You just made my point..........
Narrow minded people always assume, as the Obama supporters have, if you ain't for their guy, you must be for McCain. I couldn't stand either one of them. The populace, to include illegals, all ran to Obama and for what? Because they think the government is supposed to take care of them.

When I see people on this board griping and whining about one or the other parties, it amazes me why they gripe at all. They obviously don't care about this country at all, just themselves. I doubt most of them even bother to research anything for themselves. They let their TV screen do all their thinking for them, as now Obama will do for them.
You have just proved the point I made below

While I don't agree with your opinion 100 percent at least you can talk to us without making anything we say personal, A.W. and Carla cannot.

I'll agree that some had a visceral hatred of Clinton.  I never did personally.  I didn't vote for him, did not think he was a good president, but I didn't walk around everyday blaming everything bad in my life on him either.  I disliked by his personal example that he lowered the morality level in our country several notches, and yes, I do think that he should have been thrown out of office for #1) having sexual favors performed just outside the oval office by someone other than his wife, and #2) then looking in the face of every American and lying about it (#2 being the damning impeachable offense).

At this point I haven't seen proof that Bush has done anything impeachable.  I think Bush has done some good things while in office and has also done some things I don't agree with.  However, if I support the president in any way then I'm accused of bowing down and worshipping at his feet by A.W. and Carla, and let's not forget the late-to-this-board gt.  Their reactions are way beyond the rational although it is understandable why Carla may have these strong feelings given what she's gone through this year.  I think she may be misdirecting some of her anger though.

You have made your point, move on.nm
//
Yep, MSNBC made a point of going over that
$$$
I respectfully disagree on one point you made:

*...most of us on the liberal board do not buy *impending doom* theory that you live by.*

I personally will be fearful of *impending doom* for the next 3 years.  If I/we can get through that, then I'll be able to relax (a little) as hopefully more Americans will come to their senses.

Starcat made a very valid point.

You don't tolerate irresponsibility when it comes to pet owners (which I agree with, by the way), yet you seem to welcome it when it comes to your political party.  One has to ask why you continue to sing the praises of and support the most irresponsible administration in US history, yet you express outrage about a cat owner.  Just doesn't make sense.

And as far as you being tolerant, one only needs to take a quick look at the conservative board to see how laughable that really is.  You and your cohorts post the most intolerant posts I've ever seen anywhere on the internet.

I do agree with you about pet owners being responsible.  I am a pet owner and keep my pets under control simply because I love them and want to keep them safe.

See? You're proving the very point made about
right wing rage. Sure hope you and your fanatic friends don't all own guns......
Good post. I think you made your point!
Go McCain/Palin 2008
Good, I made my point, but I won't move on.
Too bad for you.
You just made my point.....shouldn't they be protected

I thought Brunson made a good point down below.
One of the reasons the antiwar protesters have not been taken more seriously is that they have personalized this against Bush and not against war.  I do think it is possible to separate the two.  But I also think that protesting in the streets puts our military at risk, in fact I know that it does.  The pen is a mighty weapon.  Senators and congressmen and women want to be reelected.  Sitting in front of the WH with a bullhorn and shouting obscenities and name calling to the President of the United States is not going to ever work.  And it shows a distinct lack of respect, if not for the man, then for the office and the White House itself.
No, Duck, not made up, and you fail to miss my point...
I think the dems are missing a LOT of points with Obama's plans for us...
I made my point. Reading comprension problem?
x
Again my point is made - you just like arguing and bashing people that don't agree with you
Your bringing up a dead subject while shouting it at us. You started an abortion post on 8/25 and bashed everyone who didn't agree with you, and you were bashing people on 8/22 about the same subject. Everytime someone brought up their viewpoint you be arguing or bashing them. The point I (and others) are making is you keep bringing this up again and again and again and again and when people don't agree with you you bash them, then when they come back to say something you bash them even more. Then when we finally get a break and have new topics, you start another post about the abortion thing again. The abortion issue is getting tiring for all. We know what abortions are, how horrible they are, and we know how babies are made and the stages of their lives (we are MT's and all took the course) but you feel the need to keep it up and up and up and it's getting real old. Besides that it looks like you are posting under other names and then answering yourself.

I want to read people's opinions and questions of issues we are facing. Abortion is not one of them for most of us. Let it go and move on. What I am trying to say is that while I'd like to hear your viewpoints on other issues enough with the abortion and try and not be so argumentative all the time.

Yes, we all have the right to post things, but it looks like you are posting just for the sake of arguing and we're all getting tired of it.

So go ahead bash me some more.
I like having Glenn on Fox.
The only thing I don't like is when he goes on Bill O'Reilly's show and Bill hardly lets Glenn finish a sentence at all.  I like Bill too but I am getting annoyed at his constant interrupting people and not letting them finish a sentence.  I'm half tempted to send O'Reilly an email asking him to try to not do that, but I really don't want to show up on the emails during the showing.  LOL.
normally i like glenn beck
but he is taking this waaaaay too defensively - i thought that rev lowery was hilarious and "groovy"! and there were plenty of baby boomers who shook their heads and smiled at him as well as obama because we had heard this before. i will be 44 this year, born in 1965, and my mother was born in the first year of the baby boom, 1946. when she and my father divorced in the early 1970s, she could not even rent an apartment because she was not married, nor get a loan because she was not married. we had to move back in with her parents in order to have a roof over our heads because, without a husband, she was a nonentity. but the times were a'changing. and as a young child, i heard often cool things like what lowery said...and bra burning to boot, not that my mother was hip enough to ever do that, but she worked two jobs and went to community college and eventually was able to build us a home (yes, through farmers home administration - thank god for them or we could never have broken through the discrimination against women at the time). through her brave choices (we could have lived with her parents forever - but she wanted her own life) and her choice of friends, black, yellow, red and white - at time when nice white girls who were prom queens and cheerleaders should not be seen with any of them, she showed me that the world is huge and that sometimes we have to laugh at our white selves :-)
I like Glenn Beck. He used to be on CNN
Probably because he was not really for Obama. Anyway, he brought up today that there are sections in the 677 some page stimulus that do not make sense at all. For example, the immigration section states something like: Article 45677 is to follow ACT 6544434 and then to follow 664444 and should be proceed with ACT 6654434 and so on. Glenn Beck said he had his top advisers and lawyer friends try to figure out what does it really mean and guess what? NO ONE KNOWS WHAT IT MEANS.

So there are sections in this stimulus package and we have no idea what it means and some of the parties want this passed quickly? Why? So it will try and fix the economy? The first bailout did nothing?

So that is why we are to call our representatives to try and stop this stimulus package so we can basically digest what is really involved. After all, how much money is involved? A LOT! Talk about jumping the gun with a A LOT OF MONEY.
I love Glenn too, but he now comes
on too early for me to watch most of the time. I loved it when he was on at a later time. I'm hoping the network puts him in a later time slot so DH can also watch...that is, if he works this year. He likes him too.
What is it with Glenn Beck?....(sm)

I think this link pretty much sums up Glenn Beck.  Pay close attention to the "Beckisms."  And you guys are clinging to his every word.

Love Glenn Beck
He has such a great way of pointing out the obvious. You do have to wonder why they all keep wanting to raise the taxes on the wealthy when that would include the majority of them - now we know! They don't pay!!!
Another Glenn Beck Video

Glenn Beck mentioned this
last week on his show. He is having a special show in New York this Friday. He is wanting all the people who care for their country to come together. We are to look at his website and join in on "We Surround Them".

You don't have to watch Glenn Beck...
to know his background. A simple Google search is all that's necessary. Glenn Beck is nothing more than another washed up disc jockey just like Rush Limbaugh.
Glenn Beck: Does anyone in Washington Pay Taxes?

He's really getting ticked off again.

Glenn Beck's problem?? He is a realist.
He is not hoodwinked by the powers that be.
Glenn Beck is making an impact

and they can't stand it.

Go Glenn!

Oh, you forgot to call Glenn Beck

fat, too.   How ridiculous.

Glenn Beck is awesome and extreeeeemely intelligent.

Oh, Glenn Beck is intelligent. It's the people

Glenn Beck starts his new show tonight
I can't wait. I've missed him. Sometimes he makes sense, sometimes he doesn't, but he sure does tell it like it is.
Yup, forgot Glenn came over from CNN, yes, he has great informative shows....nm
nm
"Thomas Paine" was on Glenn Beck tonight
He said so many people are sending tea bags but they aren't getting anywhere with it. Even though thousands have been sent in, they aren't getting to the people they are being sent to and instead, are being thrown out because "they might contain an illegal substance." So he is asking people to take the square tags at the end of the string from the tea bags and send those in instead of the whole teabag.
Glenn Beck is a swinging...um...oh yeah, pendulum.-nm

Glenn Beck:Obama's budget a loaded weapon aimed at you.
By Glenn Beck
Host, “Glenn Beck“

Hello America,

If you had any doubt that we were on “The Road to Socialism,” President Obama’s just released budget should clear up that confusion. In fact, we’re so on The Road to Socialism that Barack Obama’s budget reads like he went to MapQuest and printed out turn-by-turn directions to get us to socialism as quickly as possible. So far, President Obama is really making a big scary mess of things and this budget is a giant step in the wrong direction.

Believe me–I understand that I’m not the only one who feels this way. But there have been lots of times in my career when I felt like I was all alone in my thinking (and that’s exactly why I’m having my “We Surround Them” event on March 13th…so you know that you’re not alone –click here for more details). So it’s always comforting for me when I hear others saying the same thing. Just this past weekend on “FOX News Sunday,” host Chris Wallace asked Arizona’s Republican Senator Jon Kyl, “How big a change in direction does the Obama budget represent in the relationship between government and the American people?” Without missing a beat, Senator Kyl quoted The Wall Street Journal by saying, “The budget represents a historical shift in the ideological direction of U.S. economic policy.” No mincing words there. Then he reminded everyone that The Wall Street Journal also stated in an editorial that President Obama is attempting to expand the role of government to such a dominant position that its power can never be rolled back. A respected United States Senator and The Wall Street Journal–oh, I like that company. (Too bad we’re all agreeing on how bad things are getting.)

Here are some of the budget’s broad strokes:

* Obama’s budget takes the size of our government to the largest it’s been since World War II.
* It’s got a $1.4 trillion tax increase in it (and oh yeah–we’re in the middle of a recession).
* It doubles the debt in eight years.
* It never balances the budget and proposes that, for the next 10 years, our deficits are at a record high.

Hmmm. Usually I like to frame things in a “good news / bad news” context. That just won’t work here, but I don’t want to be a big downer. So let me put on a happy face and say that all the above was merely the regular, garden-variety bad news! Now here comes the super awful really bad news:

* Like a loaded weapon, this budget is aimed directly at you.

Is there a quicker way to end a honeymoon period for a new president than to propose a bunch of new taxes? It’s going to take a lot of serenading from Beyonce to make people forget about having less money…especially in this economy. See, not only is there a proposed huge tax increase for the energy and manufacturing sectors (and those get passed on to everyone), but overall tax rates are going up. All this is a real gut shot for small business. What too many people fail to remember is that small business is big business in America–over 70% of all American business is done by a small business. That means it’s likely that you either own or work for one, so President Obama wants more of your money (and I’m guessing it’s not like you have a whole lot extra lying around these days.)

And then there’s Obama’s suggestion of a “long-term investment in the economy.” That’s a fancy way of saying “increased spending.” (You don’t exactly need a decoder ring to figure that one out.) Another $30 billion for AIG…after they paid out six and seven figure bonuses and recorded the highest quarterly loss ever–over $60 billion–in U.S. history? How deep can our pockets be expected to be? Remember–every dollar the government “invests” in failing businesses is one of your dollars. If you had a stock broker who made the kind of crappy investments Washington has been making (and wants to make more of), you’d have fired them long ago.

This really isn’t that new a story–Democrats have a reputation of taxing and spending because, well…they always tax and spend. President Obama tries to soften his budget’s blow by stating that the tax increases don’t kick in until 2011. Um, Mr. President? It’s not exactly like 2011 is off in the sci-fi future where we’ll all have flying cars and live the life of George Jetson. Just like you need to plan ahead for re-election, small business owners need to do the same thing–plan for their future. So congratulations–now they’re doing that by bracing themselves for the tax avalanche coming their way in just a little over a year and a half from now. So instead of fueling the economy now–when we need it–business will tighten its belt and lower today’s bottom line in preparation for tomorrow’s new taxes. That lowers tax receipts! Instead of getting better, things get worse. Even I get that, and I’m the alcoholic rodeo clown.

Is it Election Day, 2012 yet?
Amen to that, I heard on Glenn BeEck to watch out for Acorn protests.nm

John Glenn and John McCain were cleared of having acted improperly....
improperly but were criticized for having exercised "poor judgment." Interesting that 4 of the 5 were Democrats. Still..John McCain has publically said he was sorry for his part in it, that he was wrong in what he did and has apologized for it. Like I said before, I respect that. Everyone makes mistakes. No everyone is man enough to own up to them and not hide behind Nancy Pelosi and the DNC like Chris Dodd and Barney Frank are doing. Now THERE is a pair to draw to.
I think BB has a point here in that the main point on the board is political discussion, and let'
face it, there is SO MUCH going on right now, changes, problems, disasters, and so much debate on what should/could be done, but so many tims the political discussion disintegrates in a finger-pointing, name-calling exercise, spouting religion all over the place. Yeah, our spiritual beliefs are dearly held and we would all strive to be the best we can be, and do whatever we can whatever the ideology is, but sometimes I wonder, since we have a board EXPRESSLY for Faith isuues, where relgious debates/discussions/forums, etc are welcome, why does THIS board have to be turned into RELIGION BOARD PART II, especially if one ideology wants to dominate or ridicule/condemn those who come on here for lively inteligent discussion, debate of issues in Congress and in our lives, and just want their beliefs held separately? CNN is not EWTN or any other Christian network, and there are constant informative, bright, lively, balanced discussions from all over the political spectrum on the credentialed news stations, as well as C-Span, but they are not constantly hiding behind a cross, rosary, bible, star of David, or whatever....can we not strive to do the same and put religious debate on the Faith board?? Just a thought to ponder, MHO, it might work beter, who knows?
is the the starting point or the end point for the middle class?

I answered your post point-by-point and
all you can come up with is a lame tit-for-tat? Can you provide some sort of substantive response that would argue against the point I am trying to make here? Of course not.

Please show me what part of my post reflects bigotry or ignorance? I have made a few statements based on my own life experience, rather than the hook-line-and-sinker method of forming my world view. Then the impotence of your suicide bomber reference was buried under concrete evidence of informed, researched and factual data that would suggest an oppressed, occupied, half-starved population does not have the upper hand when it comes to defending themselves against Israel's US-bankrolled arsenal of pain, misery, death and destruction. They are just a tad out-gunned, wouldn't you say?

The Palestinians are just a tad out-gunned, wouldn't you say? This might just account for the lop-sided fatalities/injuries ratios between the Israelis and the Palestinians. In closing, it is worth noting that even with the advantage of all those terrorist toys and tools our tax dollars have bestowed upon them, security and peace of mind just seem to be further and further beyond their reach. Wonder why that is?
If your point is that it was 7 years ago, that's not much of a point is it? sm
Not long ago at all in the scope of things. The point is that the same thing could and probably would happen here. 9-11 happened 7 years ago too....I guess that couldn't happen again, huh?
I get your point, but my main point is -
why should the government be allowed to tell people what they can and can't eat? Everyone says the government is too involved in our business anyway, so if they should stay out of one part of our lives, they should stay out of all parts of our lives!
Yes I do have it made.
I do have it made, and it is well earned.  How much military service do you have under your belt?  How many political action committees have you served on?
I don't think she has made this

decision without thinking about all she might miss with her kids.  My mom was at a lot of the things I did in school.  However, my dad was at work.  He was supporting his family by making a living.  He was making our situation better by working that overtime so we could afford stuff.  Would I have liked my dad to be at my tennis match.....sure.  But the reality is that even though he wasn't there watching, he still was literally the one supporting me and I appreciated and loved him for that.

As for Palin, did you ever think that maybe....just maybe she is willing to sacrifice time with her kids to make a better country for them as well as all of us?  Have they asked Obama about sacrificing time with his kids?  No....because we all just assume Michelle will take care of the kids.

Al would have made sure we were . . .
not kissing (notice I did not say kicking) butt over in Iraq to get that oil.  This country would have been a lot further along with alternative energy sources!!!
I made my own
NObama pin which I alternated with an Obama pin (with the red slash through the O as in a no smoking sign).
thank you SO much, made my day!!
That was truly worth the seven minutes!!
Please tell me you just made that up!!!
Because if you didn't, you're right, that is much more sick.
