FED money give away
Read a report that the FED was just recently found to have given 2 trillion dollars away to someone for some reason.  They wont say why or who but it is OUR money.  Nice that they do not have to answer to anyone.  Obama is putting lobbyists in his administration even when he said he would NOT and just about every person that he picks are tax evaders but they get away with it basically.  The media doesnt even bother to report on the detention centers that they are wanting to build in our country to have in case there is a martial law and they never even broach the subject of the civilian military that O wants to start.  O supporters can flame me and try to tell me that this is because there is no truth to it.  PLEASE.  When will you guys stop allowing yourselves to be fed like a bunch of babies by the media and O?  COME ON.  It's like you guys dont have eyes in your heads!   THANKS.  You guys wanted change so badly you were willing to jump at the first thing that sounded good.  America is going to be so changed for the worst, I doubt it will ever be the same again and all of you who voted this fool in will be responsible for allowing it to happen.  I am voicing my opinion now because I feel that in the very near future, I wont be allowed to.
Yea, keep it in your pants and give that money to

She's obviously living your idea of the Model Life.

What a fine, upstanding woman that Nadya is. She's a real beacon of inspiration to the rest of us to 'go forth and propagate.'

You people are too blinded by your own sense of self-worth to ever be of any worth to anybody else.

Get a job. Put a low-income student through college. Pay some single mother's rent or buy some groceries for her kids. Go help out in an underdeveloped (and over-populated) 3rd-world country. Read books other than the bible. You might actually learn something of value that can be put to use in the real world, not the fantasy-world you live in.
If you are going to give money to re-educate the auto workers....... sm
then it would follow that money should be given to sustain and re-educate the people in other industries (MT comes to mind) that are suffering because of big suit mismanagement and jobs going overseas. What about the thousands upon thousands of other displaced workers in the public sector that have lost their jobs? Will they need to be re-educated as well? Will there be jobs available to them, even if they are re-educated?

Maybe that's what all those re-education centers all over America are for. hmmmmmmm
Yeah, lets give our money away and make our

Well, they already made him give back Hamas' money.

If we give up all this money now and do NOT demand full disclosure/accountability to these foul thie
despite all the duplicity in the banking crisis, are STILL in corporate positions, then we have just thrown good money after bad and our whole system will go down faster. These guys do not even know what accountability means, and someone has to TEACH THEM, if not, be replaced, no more hand-outs, and face stiff fines for misappropriation of tax payer's money/government funds. We need to act fast, but not BLINDLY AND RASHLY!!
The point is give it a rest!
Maybe it's all over MSNBC, (and sometimes CNN) I'm watching the news (various channels) and I will pick up a story here and there, but it is not "all over" the TV. This board has just turned into a "Bash the Republicans Board". We all have the Internet, we all watch the news, and please don't come back with criticizing Fox News, because Fox News is the only station that is giving both sides and treating both sides fairly. Could be why their rating are soaring every day while CNN and MSNBC is tanking. The other stations just pick and pick and pick. (i.e. that snooty inexcusable rude remark Chris Matthews made when the rupublican was walking out for a comment about the Presidents speech (he never made comments like that when the democrats were coming out to rebut things Bush said). After watching him I know why I don't watch him anymore. The point is this board is being filled with propaganda republican bashing and it's getting very old. And when anyone brings up a question or makes a statement about something they don't like about what Obama said they are jumped all over and called everything. All because we haven't had our kool-aid to drink. I have found over time that the liberals do not want anything the democrats do to be questioned. They believe anything Obama says is the word of the Messiah and should not be questioned. If it wasn't true it would be funny. I am getting sick of coming to this board and people just posting article after article after article of hate-filled propaganda. It would be nice if the bashing could be kept to a minimum. People post these article thinking for some reason that because someone wrote an article it is true. Heck if that's the case I'll go out and write a bunch of propaganda against Obama. After all if it's in print it has to be true, right? The people who write these articles are giving their opinion. The people I listen to are the economists and the ones who have good ideas. The ones with years of training. The ones who have valuable ideas of how to fix the economy (even though the new Obama administration doesn't listen to people who have any knowledge, just the Czars he keeps appointing that have no training or anything).

You want to post article after article after article after article after article after article, etc, fine. I skip over it and I encourage others to do the same and not even comment. Not worth the time. But be prepared as for as many republican bashing articles people post here, there is an article that speaks the truth that is not good about this administration and those will be posted too.

This is a political board and it used to be where people who give their opinions and ask questions. Now its just filled with hate filled republican bashing.
People pay good money to have their links

show up under a certain word search.  Do you actually think that this happened by pure chance, or because the google search engine defaults the word failure to immediately pull this POS site by happenstance?  It was paid for.  What's even more hilarious is how much this poor schlump parted with for that privilege.  You all seriously need to find some adult topics to talk about instead of thinking that google has a liberal's brain.

I'll give you that point. There is no credible info that she was drunk. I haven't posted anywhere
on this site that she was, but it's all over the internet.

That's why I said "even IF" she was drunk, I don't care she was only a kid.

Take the post at face value, and leave the neocon spins for the conservative board. Oh, and as far as the "you know you are a liberal if...", if you think that is THE TRUTH, then that speaks volumes for your beliefs and so called rightousness. And

Newsflash: I didn't have to visit the conservative board to see it, when you come to the Politics forum from mtstars it's right there for all eyes to see.

Check yourself before you 'try' to check me because "I got this." Thanks.
Good point, good post. Thanks.

Thats good cos dems give no substance to
the conversations here. Just attacks at those who don't agree with them. Take a look at all the postings. Its the dems going after the republicans.
I think it a good thing to stay away and not give them a target. sm
It is so obvious they are brainwashed and cannot respond to logic in a sensible fashion, so it is no use discussing or arguing with them. You cannot argue logically with someone who has no logic.
Good for Fox - I'm no Fox fan but I'll give them credit for doing the right thing
They say Fair and Balanced but they definitely are more conservative and Sean Hannity really gets on my nerves something awful. He's about as condescening as Rush and treats guests who are liberals as though they are less intelligent than he is.

When I am in favor of conservative viewpoint I will watch them, and when I am in favor of liberal viewpoints I will go to another channel. Never CNN because they praise the Clintons too much. Most of the time I watch MSNBC even though they are more liberal, but at least they are fair and civil to conservatives.

So I give Fox some credit.
I'll give you one good reason to vote for McCain.

Barrack Hussein Obama.....nuff said.

Good point...sm
There is no blaming liberals for Bush's inaction. He hasn't paid us any attention for the past 6 years, so anything that he has done is of his own accord, including the handling of the war in Iraq.

Suzie mentioned not taking out al Sadr above (sound familiar?).

Good point
I remember a disagreement several of us had with our pastor years ago. Several folks were talking about leaving. One of the elders told us, "You don't leave, I don't leave, this is our church, not his. He needs to remember that he works for us, not the other way around." Brought lots of things into perspective for me.
Good point
Yeah, they are both raking in the dough, but why should Hillary or anyone be forced to pay our health care costs? Your right, the post makes no sense.

Good point - He won by only 4%
They did not get 100% of the vote and he did not win by a landslide. I would say more like "squeaked by".
Good point there
Many of the people that carry on about the sanctity of human life have no problem rushing out during hunting season to bag their quota of wildlife, no problem trashing the environment/planet for profit, etc.  Either all life is sacred, or none is, IMHO.

Methodists share that belief  as do most protestant churches I believe.  I don't believe that politics has any place in the pulpit.

You have a good point there..........sm
By comparison, what I meant was that if he fails to bring us out of this downward spiral we are in then America would fail. I was looking at it as if Obama was doing what was the best thing for this country, and certainly, none of what he has accomplished thus far has been for the good of the country. I stand corrected!
Good point. (nm)

That is a very good point.
All the sex and drugs that goes along with rock n roll.  There is always going to be something you don't approve of one way or another whether it be who they sleep with or how much drugs they do.  I would not deprive myself of good music just because that particular artist is gay.
That's a good point and it's true. sm
I am sure all of us have things we do in the name of kindness.  The rest of us just don't talk about it.
Rush may have a good point here.
From an email I got:

"Love him or loathe him, he nailed this one right on the head..........

By Rush Limbaugh:

I think the vast differences in compensation between victims of the September 11 casualty and those who die serving our country in Uniform are profound.  No one is really talking about it either, because you just don't criticize anything having to do with September 11. Well , I can't let the numbers pass by because it says something really disturbing about the entitlement mentality of this country. If you lost a family member in the September 11 attack, you're going to get an average of $1,185,000. The range is a minimum guarantee of $250,000, all the way up to $4.7 million.
If you are a surviving family member of an American soldier kill ed in action, the first check you get is a $6,000 direct death benefit, half of which is taxable.

Next, you get $1,750 for burial costs. If you are the surviving spouse, you get $833 a month until you remarry. And there's a payment of $211 per month for each child under 18. When the child hits 18, those payments come to a screeching halt.

Keep in mind that some of the people who are getting an average of $1.185 million up to $4.7 million are complaining that it's not enough. Their deaths were tragic, but for most, they were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Soldiers put themselves in harms way FOR ALL OF US, and they and their families know the dangers. (Actually, soldiers are put in harms way by politicians and commanding officers.)

We also learned over the weekend that some of the victims from the Oklahoma City bombing have started an organization asking for the same deal that the September 11 families are getting. In addition to that, some of the families of those bombed in the embassies are now asking for compensation as well.

You see where this is going, don't you? Folks, this is part and parcel of over 50 years of entitlement politics in this country. It's just really sad. Every time a pay raise comes up for the military, they usually receive next to nothing of a raise. Now the green machine is in combat in the Middle East while their families have to survive on food stamps and live in low-rent housing. Make sense?

However, our own US Congress voted themselves a raise. Many of you don't know that they only have to be in Congress one time to receive a pension that is more than $15,000 per month. And most are now equal to being millionaires plus. They do not receive Social Security on retirement beca use they didn't have to pay into the system.  If some of the military people stay in for 20 years and get out as an E-7, they may receive a pension of $1,000 per month, and the very people who placed them in harm's way receives a pension of $15,000 per month.

I would like to see our elected officials pick up a weapon and join ranks before they start cutting out benefits and lowering pay for our sons and daughters who are now fighting.

Good point - forgot about that
x
oh, good comeback. What is the point

You bring up such a good point...
my partner drives a school bus in 2 areas, a very impoverished area, and then in the 'upper class' area, and he never gets over all the kindness and gifts he gets from the poorest of people during holidays, while the more affluent areas not even give nothing, they do not even treat him as a person.

I have noticed that during post office drives, you always see the most donated goods hanging on the mailboxes in poor neighborhoods, and very rarely anything from the huge gigantic housing developments. not to say they do not give but it really says SO MUCH.

we are musicians here where I live also and even the money-making machine bars and restaurants, they want to get everything free, they are making musicians around here go broke and do not care at all. they hold open mics and get everyone to play for free, while over-charging for every other little service, and give the musicians nothing, not even a free pop or coffee (or drink if you drink).

by the way, these establishments all boast they are christians/family establishments.
I think wick has a good point here..

How come nobody commented on Hillary Clintons outfits. She doesn't shop at Penny/Sears or any of the other stores I do. Her clothes are very expensive but nobody made any comments about her spending money on clothes.

If you had really listened closely to Prez Obama's speech earlier, he clearly stated the government is willing to give them a boost up in order to stabilize them and give them a chance to revamp their manufacturing in order to be competative with the global car manufacturers.  I am so glad to hear that one of the plants that will be shut down is Hummer.  We don't need gas guzzlers like that on the road.  They serve no purpose other than to satisfy the egomaniacs who need a huge obnoxious vehicle in order for them to feel superior.  We are not all going to be driving Smart cars.  For pete's sake, be realistic.  There is a solid purpose to keep manufacturing trucks and SUVs, and they can be made more energy efficient.  We desperately need a new mindset in this country, one that insists on less consumption, more cost effectiveness with an eye to achieving freedom from foreign oil.  In other words, we need to adapt a new attitude of learning to live without all the disgusting excess that goes on in this country.  People need to wake up and reprioritize what is really important, which is not more, more, more.  We can be the leaders in the world and set an example to everyone else that our values are more important than the trappings that we have prostituted ourselves for decades.  This is not a bad thing!

"'The truth is that the president is just doing with GM what we, the people elected him to do: manage America’s decline and do it gently, painlessly, without seeming to abandon the old tropes of American Greatness."

"poo" litical, good point.
LOL sorry.

I think FOX is very balanced. We have every right to use words like FEAR and SCARED.

If Mccain had won and didn't seem like he was going to take into account anything from the left, you would be scared too.
Good, I made my point, but I won't move on.
Too bad for you.
They bring out a good point about the strategy being used in Iraq. sm
The more I think about it, I think Bush is trying to keep it cool (keep casualties down) until he gets closer to his last days, then maybe he plans to let them have it. All of this tip toeing around the terrorist is not going to work. They are not going to fight fair. They are taking classes on how to make more powerful bombs without being detected - like the one that killed the 14 US troops this week.

They're stepping up their game and we have to step ours up. I think the drawback from doing this is that it will mean more US troop casualties and more Iraqi civilian deaths, and this administration knows that will cause them a backlash they don't have the balls to sustain.
