Heard the same blather from the Oreilly rumor factor

the NY Times, Rasmussen, Gallup, etc., all in response to his dive in the ratings, taking third place behind KO and RM on MSNBC and AC on CNN. "They MUST be rigged," he blustered in protest. You don't like polls? Fine. Check out the electoral map.

I heard a rumor
From a friend with a son in Iraq, who supposedly told her that Pakistan is the next targeted place for war.  Supposedly it would be considered a "new" war and as such would give Bush a loophole to stay in command of the armed forces as "commander in chief" for an extra year....I'd never heard of this so I don't know if my friend is nuts or what.  Is there such a provision that if a president starts a new war in the last year of his term he gets to hang out an extra year to supervise it?
Same old liberal blather...
we're for the little guy... blah blah blah.  The big wig Democrats don't a crap about the little guy, only his vote.  If the woes of the lower class working stiffs could be fixed, they'd have been fixed already.  A Democrat has been in office along enough in the last 40 years to do that, but it never gets done.  Not in 8 yrs of Clinton, or anybody before him.  You know why?  Because the plight of the poor isn't the government's fault.  It's not the rich man's fault either.  But nobody wants to say what the problem is for fear of hurting somebody's feelings.  Or better yet, if they problem were actually fixed, who would the Democrats get to vote for them?  They NEED there to be racism, and poverty, and inequality (imagined or real).  It's really quite sad.
Too busy for blather and babble...
Which places me at distinct disadvantage when it comes to being on a level playing field. Rather than give you the satisfaction of taking that ball and running with it, being that rt-wingers love to have that last, best word and, when all else fails, to deploy their kick-em’when their down weaponry (one of their more notorious modus operandi), I have come to a decision.

GT/GW/BK is going to grant your wish and trot on off into the sunset where the first order of business will be to wash off all the mud and slime of slur and slander. My absence will remove your forum for all these trite tantrums and tirades. Besides, I have more that adequately illustrated the points I was trying to make. Your ignorant bigotry exposed itself, so I didn’t have to bother much with that. But as long as you insist on preaching sermons that polarize us from one another and couch them in contexts every bit as distasteful and hateful as you find Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s creed, there will always be enough “vitriol” coming from all sides, if that is the way you prefer to play your cards and tone you chose to set in your posts. Your bully tactics will never succeed in scaring off those who are willing to step forward to advocate for minority interests, human rights and diginity, inclusion and equality. Pull as many punches and take as many jabs as you like. There are plenty where those come from on both sides of an argument.

So from behind the cloak of chat room pen name anonymity, GT/GW/BW will be settling into retirement, composing brand new posts and looking for worthy opposition and viable solutions, not fringe fanatics and bar room brawls.
PS: FPJ, one in the same. The plagiary ball is back in your court, where it belongs. Interesting, though, just in case FPJ was an entirely different indivudual, you were already spinning "channeling" theories which you then tried to use to insult a hologram, discounting any possibility that FJP could conceivably be speaking on her own behalf. Ciao for now. It's been fun.
Why did you post this babbling blather?
????
But if it was babbling blather from the other side,
nm
Held my nose and watched the same O'Reilly blather
made his pathetic atempt to delcare war on the NY Times, Rasmussen, etc. This is what sore losers do when they feel themselves in freefall. O'Reilly got his drawers in an uproar because he and Focks are down in the ratings and is'nt used to the idea of being #3 behind Olbermann, Cooper et all. Poor Bill.
I think actually picking up a book might require too much effort......easier to blather......nm

Maybe the rumor was right
When I saw the news I remembered my earlier post here regarding my friend's son (who is on active duty in Iraq) predicting the next war would be in Pakistan.  Interesting coincidence causing my half-awake brain to fill with paranoid "was this staged by our own govt as a new excuse for a new war" conspiracy theories, LOL.  I better get some caffeine and clear out the cobwebs.
That is a rumor, and did you ever think...
what effect it is going to have on that 16-year-old when she hears that kind of thing, finds out she has been made political fodder?
actually, it is not a factor

in my voting choice.  Progressives can understand human fraility.  As we all know, in this sexy-sexy business of medical transcription, one can face some rompin' stompin, fierce temptations.  John Edwards went way past the mark with the baby and the coverup and all.  Look at the man who replaced Elliott Spitzer.  He 'fessed up right away and no one ever speaks of it anymore.

rumor has it

has malodorous feet... can anyone confirm this?

Unfortunately he did say it - not rumor - and not funny!
This is not rumor or heresay, this is fact. People who dislike Obama so much will not want to believe it, but as unfortunate as it is, it is true. And yes, it is true that Hillary called Bill many names equal to the "c" word (and right in front of Chelsea and others as they stood on the stairs in their mansion), and on multiple occasions used the "F" word toward the secret service. These were not unsubstantiated rumors you seem to think are funny (lol), these are hard facts, and nothing worth laughing at. It is also unfortunate that in this day and age too many people let the swear words fly out of their mouth as their everyday language, and worse is when they don't respect their peers or spouses enough not to use that kind of language towards them (especially in front of other people). As for McCain admitting to it? Give me a break...of course he's not going to admit that especially in light of the election coming up. Also don't you think it's a bit odd that if it wasn't true she (Mrs. McCain) sure is not denying it and if it were untrue both he and his wife would be coming out stating these were rumors they are not true, lies put out by my competitors, blah, blah, blah. But they are not denying it, they are doing everything they can to keep that out of the news and avoiding the issue. So leads one to assume they wish it never happened.

As for people speaking in anonymity....it has come out that people will not go on the record for fear of retaliation. It's similar to this board here. People will remain anonymous because they get attacked a lot.
Credibility Factor

Wow, if my in-laws (in their 80s) knew that they were looked upon like that, I'd get a black eye (and deserve it) Incidentally, they could do it, too. They travel abroad, work out, all that stuff.

Maybe we should get a little sampling of how many fossilized 70YOs there are out there. I'm embarrassed for you.

It also seems to me that anyone who could endure the worst imaginable torture for 5 years must be made of something.

Is that the best ya got?

You have no proof that this is a rumor!
Hoping something is not true doesn't make it so! Did you see the pictures? Her daughter looked much more pregnant that Palin did!
Prove to me that it is a rumor!!!
.
There is a rumor going through the press that........ sm
Rahm Emanuel turned him in. I'm not reporting this as fact because I haven't checked it out yet, but I have seen that mentioned.
Here is where that comes from......fear factor
Brad Sherman is right....sorry bunch of cowardly people we put in there who brown-nose out of nothing more than fear that they feed on with each other. Nothing written in cement.....just the fear factor!

Apparently yet another rumor

First clue should have been that it was filed by someone with a "Stop Obama" relationship.  Second would be that it wasn't covered by every television news outlet with breaking news interruptions into regularly scheduled programming.

Shots Fired at McCain-Palin Bus? (UPDATED: No Reports to Police or Campaign)

Update: The McCain campaign hasn't heard anything about the report of a bus being attacked. This makes the following report seem highly unlikely. Neither Raton police nor state police have received reports about such an incident.

The blog item below was posted by Mark Williams, former talk-radio host turned spokesman for Our Country Deserves Better PAC, a group committed to working against an Obama quest for the presidency. He has been on the group's Stop Obama tour, which arrived in Raton about a day after a McCain/Palin bus came through, he said. Williams said he heard the story from several residents of Raton, who said the bus had a shattered window when it arrived in town, and that it had been shattered by some kind of shot during its trip up from southern New Mexico, but he never saw the bus.

A Raton Police spokesperson, who said he's been on his phone all day long with reporters, said if the incident happened, it happened far south of Raton. Several calls to offices south, such as Chavez County Sheriff's Department and the Roswell Police, however, turned up nothing. Looks like this one is firmly in the debunked rumor pile for now, and not likely to move anytime soon.

A report from New Mexico:

We learned at this morning’s Stop Obama Rally here that the McCain/Palin Straight Talk Express came through town yesterday. It arrived with a window shattered by a .22 caliber weapon. It had also been hit by an unknown number of paint balls from a paint ball gun or guns. There were reportedly no injuries and neither candidate was on board.

Get ready for the media saturation! The wringing of hands, the concern about "incitement," the indictment of Obama and Biden for daring to criticize McCain and Palin in such a way that would drive their supporters to this.

actually he says that would not be a qualifying factor -
I've never imposed a litmus test on Supreme Court nominees
Q: Could you ever nominate someone to the Supreme Court who disagrees with you on Roe v. Wade?
McCAIN: I would never, and have never in all the years I've been there, imposed a litmus test on any nominee to the Court. That's not appropriate to do.

Q: But you don't want Roe v. Wade to be overturned?

McCAIN: I thought it was a bad decision. I think that decision should rest in the hands of the states. I'm a federalist. And I believe strongly that we should have nominees to the Supreme Court based on their qualifications rather than any litmus test. They should be judged on their qualifications. I will find the best people in America who have a history of strict adherence to the Constitution. And not legislating from the bench.

Q: Even if it was someone who had a history of being for abortion rights?

McCAIN: I would consider anyone on their qualifications. Someone who has supported Roe v. Wade, that would be part of those qualifications. But I certainly would not impose any litmus test.

Trust factor

You know, Sam, I don't know if Obama is trustworthy or not.  I don't know him and I don't know John McCain.  I think we would all do well to keep an eye on the direction of our country.  I really, really thought McCain would end up in the White House but with the landslide electorate vote I don't see any way that could possibly happen now.  Maybe it would be a good idea to get to work on doing away with the electorate.  The popular vote should be enough.  It appears to me that elections are decided really just by a few states.

Sooooooo I'm not really sure that we have time to worry about whether we trust the new president or not.  I don't trust any politicians but the cards have been dealt and there's plenty we all need to do.

This is a false rumor
Check out emails like this that you get on snopes.com.  If you go to snopes website and type in AIG bailout congress pension you will get the real truth.  So many emails I get are totally false I never forward anything until I check it out on snopes.
My point is, like Clinton's it is a rumor.
Why put so much stock in these rumors......because you want to believe the rumors.
Yep, the "if its true" factor.

I do not believe anyone is trying to start a rumor. Just something we noticed.
and hopefully it is nothing serious. but it was noticeable.
Our next President WILL be a huge factor
xx
I saw clips of that on The O'Reilly Factor.
I was cracking up.  "Your name is Joy.  You're supposed to be joyful."  LOL!  If she wants to be on a TV show like that, she really does need to lighten up and at least add to the conversation instead of just acting like she has a severe case of PMS.
Does the calculator also factor in lies!

xx

Hey, the rumor mill is back!! (sm)
Here's a question for ya.  If Bush is tried for war crimes and is found guilty, does that mean that Obama has *palled around* with war criminals?  He has been to Bush's house recently....LOL
This is an unfortunate email rumor that is actually a hoax
nm
The running mate will be an important factor
I think McCain really needs a good running mate. I really liked Tancreda when he was running. A lot of my viewpoints aligned with his. I also like Ron Paul or Colin Powell (not sure if Powell is Dem or Rep), so if he picks a decent running mate who is "on the ball" about foreign and domestic issues (I think McCain is going to need all the help he can get) he may stand a good chance of winning, otherwise it's going to be hard to know who they will choose to be president.
The health care costs are the factor that
takes UAW hourly wages from $28 to $73, along with their other benefits, pension, matching funds and the like. The national insurance coverage was what I was referring when talking how the new administration may or may not impact this situation. The nonunion figures I gave are for the US Toyota workers. I don't think they can take advantage of the national insurance coverage the global Toyota workers have, but I could be mistaken. The more we talk about this, the more interesting it becomes. I wish I knew where to go to get reliable information on this.
Oh I sorry, yeah, sure the people are the deciding factor
Yeah, right people really are the ones who decide who the president will be. Yeah, right, okay.
Obama could produce FEAR FACTOR!

It's funny how Obama can ramble on and on and on about all the Americans out of jobs; however, he refuses to enforce the E-Verify bill already in place to make sure NO illegals continue to take their jobs, which they are.   He couldn't give a rats butt about those jobs.  The proof is in his lack of doing anything about the illegal invasion in this country.  He's very good at using all his fear tactics with all his big adjectives and descriptives out the ying yang, but he hasn't done ONE SINGLE THING to stop American employers from giving illegals American citizens' jobs.

He's just wanting that stimulus package passed so bad, he'll continue to get on TV and promote more fear....................

And for those posters who said he has taken ALL THE PORK OUT DAYS AGO, get in the real world, will ya?  He JUST said on his little announcement that there is PORK that needs to be taken out STILL.     All I hear now is blah, blah, blah, blah.................

He can sign 5 executive orders in his first 3 days of office but he can't enforce E-Verify!  That big fat smile doesn't make me melt and it doesn't fool me either.  He ain't got what it takes.

Now all you O lovers can flame away........... then tell me why he can't enforce E-Verify!  It's a law ya know!!! You'll probably have to look it up first.

If the profit factor (insurance companies)...
...is removed, we will save a TON of money.
The 'it' factor: Let's give Obama a change, at least...
the last 8 years were not good years.
Isn't charisma and attractiveness in all fields of life a major component for success? Besides all other qualifications?
It's hunting season here. We have no problems getting ammo. Sounds like a silly rumor to me. NT
.
Care to post the right fringe rumor rag conspiracy theory link
I am not into solving prevarication puzzles. Further comment might be forthcoming if you spit out precisely what you are trying to say here.
I agree, corrected myself in a post below. I shouldn't have added that part as a factor nm

Heard that before.
When was that? Oh yeah! Gee, I really miss Nan, I wish she'd come back to the board. LOL!!!

I apologize to those who don't know what I'm talking about - again, the guilty party knows full well.

Anyway how's this for a subject? - The mayor New Orleans was a Republican before he ran, and switched his party affiliation to Democrat before he was successfully elected. Landreau is a Democrat. The Louisiana governor is a Democrat. Seems we have a lot of democratic leaders in an otherwise supposedly Republican state.

Wonder what effect if any that has had on the slow and disinterested response from the federal govt. in helping the people of New Orleans?
Everybody's heard of her now, eh?
That was a long article, but I think it did highlight the fact that Bush is neither a friendly or a courteous guy - insiders have been saying that for years. Can't use the excuse that he didn't want some antiwar journalist raking him over the coals - that kind of journalist would never have been allowed within the same building as he, if she had that kind of reputation.

It seems clear that the Bushes consider themselves American Royalty and that's unfortunate, because America was born from a resentment of just that kind of above-the-law holier-than-thou don't- speak-until-he-does kind of nonsense.
This is the first I heard of this.
Thanks for posting it.  I love the title, Water the Bushes.  :-)
Have you heard this one before?
The proof is in the pudding.
That's because I have heard sm
holding one's breath until one turns blue tends to affect cognition. But I have only heard that, I am not sure there is any truth to it.  Would you happen to know?
I heard that.
It was published in some conservative magazine but was unfounded. He never went to school in Africa at all. The magazine said that they got it from the Clinton campaign. I am wondering since when did a conservative publication print anything the Clinton campaign has to say. Anyway, I still think knowing first hand something about Muslims and Islam would be beneficial.
Well, I have heard

that it is "HARD WORK" and he is "WORKIN HARD"   I know this is true coz this is what he told us in the last prez debate.

only heard a little of it, but
apparently did not realize he had a "hot" mike and said something about obama may be talking down to the black communities. now it has been "taken out of context" and he has apologized and made it clear he supports obama.
Sorry. I did not know that. Had not heard that.
I will post link from now on. My apologies.
No....the last I heard they really don't know...
who is going to speak when. I had not heard he cancelled. Several have been postponed because of the hurricane.
I heard this, but....
I heard the story too. I have not been able to find a credible source to be able to acknowledge or deny it. But I think she would have some very very serious problems. I remember some religious leaders were trying to ban the Harry Potter books and there was a huge uproar. People may think she's going to do this or that, but I think we have to remember she has to get approval from congress. The VP alone cannot make these decisions and pass laws. It would have to be voted on.

I heard what he said....he did not say the...
economy was strong, that is not what he said this morning. He said the foundation of the economy is strong, and it is, or the situation on wall street today would have been much worse. He, in fact, said that the economy was in crisis and it needed to be dealt with in the way of reforming of lending companies, regulating non-bank lenders, etc. (non-bank meaning lenders not backed by the FDIC)...which all makes very good sense, since all these lenders folding and the housing decline have more to do with the economy going downhill than anything else. At least he is not talking about raising taxes on already stressed companies like Mr. Obama is.

And come to think of it...how can Obama give a tax break to 95% of people when right about 40% don't even pay taxes? How can you give a tax break to someone who doesn't pay taxes anyway? Oh yeah...you tax the companies that provide about 80% of the jobs in this country and give those 40% a freebie. And somehow that is supposed to help?
