how these people "fraudently" get SSD or SSI. I have incurable cancer and a host of other serious medical problems as a result of the drugs used to treat this disease as well as the disease itself. I get disability payments through my insurance company, but in order to continue to get these benefits, I had to apply for SSD (any SS award money goes to private insurance company). I have been denied twice for SSD even though I have an army of doctors pleading my case. It goes to a hearing level at this point which will occur in 18-24 months. It sure isn't easy to get, at least in my case. Thank god I elected to get the short and long-term disability plan with my previous employer. I've worked hard my whole life and I get shafted by the very system I paid into.
